This paper presents a research devoted to the study of instability phenomena in non-linear model with a constant brake friction coefficient. This paper outlines the stability analysis and a procedure to reduce and simplify the non-linear system, in order to obtain limit cycle amplitudes. The center manifold approach, the multivariable approximants theory, and the alternate frequency/time domain (AFT) method are applied. Brake vibrations, and more specifically heavy trucks grabbing are concerned. The modelling introduces sprag-slip mechanism based on dynamic coupling due to buttressing. The non-linearity is expressed as a polynomial with quadratic and cubic terms. This model does not require the use of brake negative coefficient, in order to predict the instability phenomena. Finally, the center manifold approach, the multivariable approximants, and the AFT method are used in order to obtain equations for the limit cycle amplitudes. These methods allow the reduction of the number of equations of the original system in order to obtain a simplified system, without loosing the dynamics of the original system, as well as the contributions of non-linear terms. The goal is the validation of this procedure for a complex non-linear model by comparing results obtained by solving the full system and by using these methods. The brake friction coefficient is used as an unfolding parameter of the fundamental Hopf bifurcation point.  相似文献

The present paper describes an improved version of the elliptic averaging method that provides a highly accurate periodic solution of a non-linear system based on the single-degree-of-freedom Duffing oscillator with a snap-through spring. In the proposed method, the sum of the Jacobian elliptic delta and zeta functions is used as the generating solution of the averaging method. The proposed method can be used to obtain the non-odd-order solution, which includes both even- and odd-order harmonic components. The stability analysis for the approximate solution obtained by the present method is also discussed. The stability of the solution is determined from the characteristic multiplier based on Floquet’s theorem. The proposed method is applied to a fundamental oscillator in a non-linear system. The numerical results demonstrate that the proposed method is very effective for analyzing the periodic solution of half-swing mode for systems based on Duffing oscillators with a snap-through spring.  相似文献

In this paper, a fractional calculus-based terminal sliding mode controller is introduced for finite-time control of non-autonomous non-linear dynamical systems in the canonical form. A fractional terminal switching manifold which is appropriate for canonical integer-order systems is firstly designed. Then some conditions are provided to avoid the inherent singularities of the conventional terminal sliding manifolds. A non-smooth Lyapunov function is adopted to prove the finite time stability and convergence of the sliding mode dynamics. Afterward, based on the sliding mode control theory, an equivalent control and a discontinuous control law are designed to guarantee the occurrence of the sliding motion in finite time. The proposed control scheme uses only one control input to stabilize the system. The proposed controller is also robust against system uncertainties and external disturbances. Two illustrative examples show the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed fractional finite-time control strategy. It is worth noting that the proposed sliding mode controller can be applied for control and stabilization of a large class of non-autonomous non-linear uncertain canonical systems.  相似文献

This paper presents a new class of globally asymptotic stabilizing control laws for dynamics and kinematics attitude motion of a rotating rigid body. The rigid body motion is controlled with the help of a rotor system with internal friction. The Lyapunov technique is used to prove the global asymptotic properties of the stabilizing control laws. The obtained control laws are given as functions of the angular velocity, Cayley–Rodrigues and Modified-Rodrigues parameters. It is shown that linearity and nonlinearity of the control laws depend not only upon the Lyapunov function structure but also the rotors friction. Moreover, some of the results are compared with these obtained in the literature by other methods. Numerical simulation is introduced.  相似文献

Digital image processing for non-linear system identification   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Emerging digital image processing techniques demonstrate their potential applications in engineering mechanics, particularly in the area of system identification involving non-linear characteristics of mechanical and structural systems. The objective of this study is to demonstrate the proof-of-concept that the techniques permit the identification non-intrusively and remotely. First, the efficacy of the digital image processing method is shown by identifying the friction behavior between two solids that are assumed to be governed by the Coulomb friction model. The inverse analysis is carried out to validate the proposed method of identifying model parameters. Studies further illustrate that the digital imaging procedure and inverse analysis algorithms developed for the friction problem can be extended for identification of non-linear mechanical and structural characteristics. One illustration utilizes the second example, where relative motion between a model structure and a shaking table is measured by digitally processing the analogue image provided by a video tape recorded during a shaking table test of a model structure base isolated by a hybrid isolation device consisting of friction and elastomeric components. Third, constitutive relationship for a non-linear elastomeric membrane is identified by digitally processing images of its deformed states under tension. The relationship is postulated to follow the Mooney-Rivlin function. Schemes developed are verified with iterative non-linear finite-element program that is valid in the finite deformation range. Emerging cost-effective hardware and software systems for high-performance data acquisition and processing are quite promising to the implementation of the techniques by removing most, if not all, of its existing limitations.  相似文献

A dicone moving on a pair of cylindrical rails can be considered as a simplified model of a railway wheelset. Taking into account the non-linear friction laws of rolling contact, the equations of motion for this non-linear mechanical system result in a set of differential-algebraic equations. Previous simulations performed with the differential-algebraic solver DASSL, [2], and experiments, [7], indicated non-linear phenomena such as limit-cycles, bifurcations as well as chaotic behaviour. In this paper the non-linear phenomena are investigated in more detail with the aid of special in-house software and the path-following algorithm PATH [10]. We apply Poincaré sections and Poincaré maps to describe the structure of periodic, quasiperiodic and chaotic motions. The analyses show that part of the chaotic behaviour of the non-linear system can be fully understood as a non-linear iterative process. The resulting stretching and folding processes are illustrated by series of Poincaré sections.  相似文献

A fundamental issue in turbomachinery design is the dynamical stress assessment of turbine blades. In order to reduce stress peaks in the turbine blades at engine orders corresponding to blade natural frequencies, friction dampers are employed. Blade response calculation requires the solution of a set of non-linear equations originated by the introduction of friction damping.

Such a set of non-linear equations is solved using the iterative numerical Newton–Raphson method. However, calculation of the Jacobian matrix of the system using classical numerical finite difference schemes makes frequency domain solver prohibitively expensive for structures with many contact points. Large computation time results from the evaluation of partial derivatives of the non-linear equations with respect to the displacements.

In this work a methodology to compute efficiently the Jacobian matrix of a dynamic system having wedge dampers is presented. It is exact and completely analytical.

The proposed methods have been successfully applied to a real intermediate pressure turbine (IPT) blade under cyclic symmetry boundary conditions with underplatform wedge dampers. Its implementation showed to be very effective, and allowed to achieve relevant time savings without loss of precision.  相似文献

A general procedure is presented for developing data-based, non-parametric models of non-linear multi-degree-of-freedom, non-conservative, dissipative systems. Two broad classes of methods are discussed: one relying on the representation of the system restoring forces in a polynomial-basis format, and the other using artificial neural networks to map the complex transformations relating the system state variables to the needed system outputs. A non-linear two-degree-of-freedom system is used to formulate the approach under discussion and to generate synthetic data for calibrating the efficiency of the two methods in capturing complex non-linear phenomena (such as dry friction, hysteresis, dead-space non-linearities, and polynomial-type non-linearities) that are widely encountered in the applied mechanics field. Subsequently, a reconfigurable test apparatus was used to generate experimental measurements from a physical non-linear “joint” involving two-dimensional motion (translation and rotation) and complicated interaction forces between the different motion axes, among its internal elements. Both the polynomial-basis approach and the neural network method were used to develop high-fidelity, non-parametric models of the physical test article. The ability of the identified models to accurately “generalize” the essential features of the non-linear system was verified by comparing the predictions of the models with experimental measurements from data sets corresponding to different excitations than those used for identification purposes. It is shown that the identification techniques under discussion can be useful tools for developing accurate simulation models of complex multi-dimensional non-linear systems under broadband excitation.  相似文献

In this paper the mean stability of linear and non-linear stochastic difference systems is considered. For linear systems the relationship between mean stability and other stability definitions is explored. For the non-linear system explicit criteria for mean stability are derived when the non-linear term satisfies a certain realistic condition.  相似文献

Fast and accurate simulation of mechanical structures with complex geometry requires application of the finite element method. This leads frequently to models with a relatively large number of degrees of freedom, which may also possess non-linear properties. Things become more complicated for systems involving unilateral contact and friction. In classical structural dynamics approaches, such constraints are usually modeled by special contact elements. The characteristics of these elements must be selected in a delicate way, but even so the success of these methods cannot be guaranteed. This study presents a numerical methodology, which is suitable for determining dynamic response of large scale finite element models of mechanical systems with multiple unilateral constraints. The method developed is based on a proper combination of results from two classes of direct integration methodologies. The first one includes standard methods employed in determining dynamic response of structural models possessing smooth non-linearities. The second class of methods includes specialized methodologies that simulate the response of dynamical systems with unilateral constraints. The validity and effectiveness of the methodology developed is illustrated by numerical results.  相似文献

This paper deals with the problem of robust finite-time stabilization of non-autonomous chaotic gyrostat systems. It is assumed that the parameters of the gyrostat system are completely unknown in advance and the system is perturbed by unknown uncertainties and disturbances. Some update laws are proposed to estimate the unknown parameters. Based on the finite-time control idea and the update laws, appropriate control laws are designed to ensure the stabilization of the closed-loop system in a finite time. The finite-time stability and convergence of the closed-loop system are analytically proved. A numerical simulation is given to demonstrate the applicability and robustness of the proposed finite-time controller and to verify the theoretical results.  相似文献

Oscillation pattern of stick-slip vibrations   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
This paper studies the stick-slip oscillations of discrete systems interacting with translating energy source through a non-linear smooth friction curve. The stick-slip limit cycle oscillations of a single degree-of-freedom model are examined by means of numerical time-integration and analytical methods. Similar approaches are also applied to the model of the coupled friction oscillator. Particularly, it is found that the steady-state response of the coupled oscillator can be divided into two different forms of oscillation (mode-merged and mode-separated oscillations) according to the frequency separation of two modes. The oscillation pattern of the steady-state response is shown to depend on system parameters such as detuning factor, energy source speed, and normal contact load.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the methods of non-linear analysis of dynamical systems and the associated bifurcation and stability problems. Attention is focused on the intrinsic harmonic balancing (IHB) technique, and the interrelationship between this technique and the methods of normal forms and averaging. Recent improvements and a complex formulation of the technique, which facilitates comparisons with other methods, are described. Thus, it is demonstrated that the simplified equations of an autonomous system, obtained by both the IHB and averaging techniques are identical, and these equations are, in fact, normal forms. Hilbert's 16th problem is analyzed as an illustrative example. It is observed that the IHB technique lends itself to a symbolic computer language (MAPLE) more efficiently compared to other methods; furthermore, its efficiency increases with the complexity of the system analyzed.  相似文献

A non-linear attitude control method for a satellite with magnetic torque rods using the state-dependent Riccati equation (SDRE) technique has been developed. The magnetic torque caused by the interaction with the Earth's magnetic field and the magnetic moment of torque rods plays a role of the control torque. The detailed equations of motion for this system are presented using angular velocity and quaternions. The SDRE controller is developed for the non-linear systems which can be formed in pseudo-linear representations using the state-dependent coefficient (SDC) method without linearization procedure. The aim of this control system is to achieve a stable attitude within 5°, and minimize the control effort. The stability regions for the SDRE controlled satellite system are estimated through the investigation of the stability conditions developed for pseudo-linear systems and the application of Lyapunov's theorem. For comparisons, the Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) method using the solution of the algebraic Riccati equation (ARE) is also applied to this non-linear system. The performance of the SDRE non-linear control system demonstrates more robustness and stability than the LQR control system when subjected to a wide range of initial conditions.  相似文献

A semi-analytical procedure for obtaining stability conditions for strongly non-linear single degree of freedom system (SDOF) subjected to random excitations is presented using stochastic averaging technique. The method is useful for finding stability conditions for systems having highly irregular non-linear functions which cannot be integrated in closed form to yield analytical expressions for averaged drift and diffusion coefficients. In spite of numerical methods available for finding stability of SDOF system by determining Lyapunov exponent, the proposed technique may have to be adopted (i) when the excitation is non-white; and (ii) when numerical integration fails due to convergence problem. The method is developed in such a way that it lends itself to a numerical computational scheme using FFT for obtaining numerical values of drift and diffusion coefficients of Its differential equation and the corresponding FPK equation for the system. These values of averaged drift and diffusion coefficients are then fit into polynomial form using curve fitting technique so that polynomials can be used for stability analysis. Two example problems are solved as illustrations. The first one is the Van der Pol oscillator having non-linearities which can be treated purely analytically. The example is considered for the validation of the proposed method. The second one involves non-linearities in the form of signum function for which purely analytical solution is not possible. The results of the study show that the proposed method is useful and efficient for performing stability analysis of dynamic systems having any type of non-linearities.  相似文献

This letter investigates the adaptive finite-time synchronization of different coupled chaotic (or hyperchaotic) systems with unknown parameters. The sufficient conditions for achieving the generalized finite-time synchronization of two chaotic systems are derived based on the theory of finite-time stability of dynamical systems. By the adaptive control technique, the control laws and the corresponding parameters update laws are proposed such that the generalized finite-time synchronization of nonidentical chaotic (or hyperchaotic) systems is to be obtained. These results obtained are in good agreement with the existing one in open literature and it is shown that the technique introduced here can be further applied to various finite-time synchronizations between dynamical systems. Finally, numerical simulations are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.  相似文献
