This paper examines the effect of fibre diameter on filtration and flux distribution with inter-fibre two-phase flow for conditions relevant to submerged bioreactors (SMBR). Hollow fibres of different diameters fixed in a specially designed holder providing shell-side feed were tested for a model biomass feed with pumping and submerged systems. The experimental results showed that the effect of the fibre diameter on filtration increased with the increase in turbulence around the fibres. For filtration with two-phase flow, the performance was sensitive to changes in fibre diameter and significantly lower flux declines were obtained with smaller fibres. On the other hand, a theoretical analysis of flux distribution along the fibre in a submerged system showed the smaller fibres to be disadvantaged. The theoretical model based on the simplified Navier–Stokes equations and filtration equations revealed that the flux distribution along the fibre depends on fibre inner diameter, length and fibre permeability. The effect of these factors can be related to a dimensionless coefficient ζ=4lRi−3/2Rm−1/2. Sensitivity analysis demonstrated that for ζ>2, the maximum flux along the fibre can be approximately estimated by Jmax=ζJmi. Although, the effect of high initial local flux on performance of filtration is still to be assessed, the flux distribution model is useful in design and operation of the SMBR system.  相似文献

A series of viscose fibres from the tyre cord type varying in mechanical parameters and titre were compounded with polypropylene to produce fibre reinforced composites. Single fibre strength is analysed in detail and conclusions are drawn with respect to effective strength values in composite applications. Composites were analysed in terms of tensile and impact properties. Correlations between single fibre and composite properties are studied. High fibre elongation leads to favourable composite impact properties via high composite elongations at break. Using water as a plastisizing agent increasing fibre elongation, notched Charpy impact strength can be improved by more than 50%. Using a modified rule of mixtures and a shear lag model for the composite modulus it was shown how a titre reduction improves the composite stiffness by an increased interfacial area. A direct fibre-composite strength correlation was not found.  相似文献

A method has been developed for identification of corrosive iron–gall inks in historical drawings and documents. The method is based on target-factor analysis of visible–near infrared fibre optic reflection spectra (VIS–NIR FORS). A set of reference spectra was obtained from model samples of laboratory-prepared inks covering a wide range of mixing ratios of basic ink components deposited on substrates and artificially aged. As criteria for correspondence of a studied spectrum with a reference spectrum, the apparent error in target (AET) and the empirical function SPOIL according to Malinowski were used. The capability of the proposed tool to distinguish corrosive iron–gall inks from bistre and sepia inks was evaluated by use of a set of control samples of bistre, sepia, and iron–gall inks. Examples are presented of analysis of historical drawings from the 15th and 16th centuries and written documents from the 19th century. The results of analysis based on the tool were confirmed by XRF analysis and colorimetric spot analysis.

4,4′-Methylene-bis-metanilic acid (A) was synthesized by the reaction between metanilic acid and formaldehyde. The compound (A) was used as a bifunctional middle component in the preparation of several symmetrical hot brand bis azo reactive dyes. The compound (A) was tetrazotized and coupled with various m-nitro anilino cyanurated coupling component to give various hot brand bis azo reactive dyes. The entired compounds have been identified by IR, 1H NMR spectra and elemental analysis. The dyes were applied on silk, wool and cotton fabrics and their fastness properties were evaluated. All the dyes give good fastness properties. The percentage dye bath exhaustion was also been studied.  相似文献

The characterization of novel metal reinforced electro-dialysis ion exchange membranes, for water desalination, by attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy mapping is presented in this paper. The surface of the porous stainless steel fibre meshes was treated in order to enhance the amount of surface oxide groups and increase the material hydrophilicity. Then, the metal membranes were functionalized through a sol–gel reaction with silane coupling agents to enhance the affinity with the ion exchange resins and avoid premature metal oxidation due to redox reactions at the metal–polymer interface. Polished cross sections of the composite membranes embedded into an epoxy resin revealed interfaces between metallic frameworks and the silane layer at the interface with the ion exchange material. The morphology of the metal–polymer interface was investigated with scanning electron microscopy and Fourier transform infrared micro-spectroscopy. Fourier transform infrared mapping of the interfaces was performed using the attenuated total reflectance mode on the polished cross-sections at the Australian Synchrotron. The nature of the interface between the metal framework and the ion exchange resin was shown to be homogeneous and the coating thickness was found to be around 1 μm determined by Fourier transform infrared micro-spectroscopy mapping. The impact of the coating on the properties of the membranes and their potential for water desalination by electro-dialysis are also discussed.  相似文献

During manufacturing of -Al2O3/Mg8Li composites by melt infiltration reactive diffusion of Mg and Li into the fibre bulk takes place. No remarkable reaction zone was found at the fibre periphery, although, a Mg enrichment zone (approx. 100 nm thick) was detected there by EDX and EELS. In addition, MgO, Li2O and Mg2Si minority phases were identified by SAED within the fibre cross-section.The crystalline structure of the -Al2O3 fibres in the Mg8Li matrix remained of the alumina spinel type at all the time, however, a set of crystallographically coherent products assigned as (Li) was detected by XRD and SAED within the fibre cross-section. As believed, the (Li) results from topotactic Li+ incorporation into the -Al2O3 lattice so that no significant changes in terms of size and morphology of the alumina crystallites are observed.  相似文献

A reactor module, consisting of six gas-tight hollow fibre membranes made of the mixed ionic–electronic conducting perovskite, , has been tested for oxygen permeation and stability during methane oxidation in the temperature range of 540 to 960°C. Rigorous leak testing was undertaken and it was demonstrated that the module could be adequately sealed. Oxygen permeation fluxes were similar to those reported by previous workers. At higher temperatures of operation, it appeared that mass transfer limited the oxygen flux, as this flux was dependent upon the flow rates on either side of the membrane. In this way, reactant flow rates could be used to manipulate the transmembrane oxygen flux. It was found that the product distribution on the methane side was dependent upon this flux, with carbon monoxide and hydrogen production being favoured at low fluxes and carbon dioxide and water production being favoured at higher fluxes. Furthermore, at low oxygen flow rates, periodic increases in the transmembrane oxygen flux were observed. The cause of this behaviour is unclear but may be as a result of phase/stoichiometric changes associated with the membrane material.  相似文献

The integration of the environmental problem in the design of industrial products leads us to incorporate vegetal fibres and recycled polymers into composite materials. The aim of this work is to study the behaviour and the environmental interest of a recycled PP/hemp fibre after several injection cycles. The mechanical and rheological behaviour of recycled PP/hemp composite was first studied by using tensile, dynamical mechanic analysis and rheological measurements. Then, to better understand the influence of the recycling, a morphology study was carried out on composites by using optical and electron microscopy. Finally, we investigated the environmental advantages of our composite thanks to a simplified environmental assessment. Our results highlighted the environmental interest of using a recycled matrix to prepare composites reinforced with vegetal fibres and the interesting properties of this material after recycling.  相似文献

A simple and easily automable method based on solid-phase microextraction followed by gas chromatographic–mass spectrometric analysis was developed for the determination of two potential angiogenesis modulators 17β-estradiol (17-BE) and 2-methoxyestradiol (2-MEOE) in culture media. Trifluoroacetic anhydride was used as the derivatising agent. A homemade octadecyl silica coating, characterised by a coating thickness of 72 ± 10 μm and a good thermal stability until 250 °C, was prepared. Experimental design was used to optimise the extraction conditions in terms of derivatisation time, derivatisation temperature and time of extraction. As for method validation, lower limits of quantification of 0.17 and 0.015 μg/l for 17β-estradiol and 2-methoxyestradiol, respectively, were obtained. Finally, the capabilities of the developed fibres were evaluated for the analysis of the investigated analytes developed by granulosa cells in culture media maintained under normoxic, hypoxic and anoxic conditions, in order to better elucidate their possible role in the angiogenic process. An increase of the production of both 17-BE and 2-MEOE in hypoxic and anoxic conditions seems to be related to the effect of oxygen deprivation.  相似文献

An innovative and simple headspace solid-phase microextraction method using a novel diethoxydiphenylsilane fibre based on in situ derivatization with acetic anhydride was optimized and validated for the gas chromatography–mass spectrometry determination of some monohydroxy metabolites of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, namely 1-hydroxynaphthalene, 2-hydroxynaphtalene, 9-hydroxyfluorene, 2-hydroxyfluorene and 1-hydroxypyrene at trace levels in human urine. Enzymatic hydrolysis was applied before derivatization, whereas extraction conditions, i.e. the effects of time and temperature of extraction and salt addition were investigated by experimental design. Regression models and desirability functions were applied to find the experimental conditions providing the highest global extraction response. These conditions were found in correspondence of an extraction temperature of 90 °C, an extraction time of 90 min and 25% NaCl added to urine samples. The capabilities of the developed method were proved obtaining limit of quantitations in the 0.1–2 μg/l range, thus allowing the bio-monitoring of these compounds in human urine. A good precision was observed both in terms of intra-batch and inter-batch repeatability with RSD always lower than 14%. Recoveries ranging from 98(±3) to 121(±1)% and extraction yields higher than 72% were also obtained. Finally, the analysis of urine specimens of coke-oven workers revealed analytes’ concentrations in the 2.2–164 μg/l range, proving the exposure to PAHs of the involved workers.  相似文献

The reaction of malonothioamides with benzene-sulfonyl azide and 2-azido-3-ethylbenzthiazolium tetrafluoroborate gave amides of 2-diazothiomalonic acid, which underwent cyclization to a mixture of 5-N-R-amino-1,2,3-thiadiazole-4-carbothioamides and 5-amino-1,2,3-thiadiazole-4-N-R-carbothioamides. The ratio of the isomeric thiadiazoles formed in this reaction is the same as in the reactions of 2-diazo-2-cyanoacetamides, 5-amino-1,2,3-thiadiazole- and 5-mercapto-1,2,3-triazole-4-carboxamides with P4S10 and of 5-amino-1, 2,3-thiadiazole-4-carbonitriles with H2S; it is characteristic of the influence of substituents on the reactivity of -diazothioacetamides. A pair of derivatives of tetrameric N-methylpyrrole polyamide were synthesized in order to develop a new method for the study of interaction of the polyamide derivatives with DNA. Indole acetic acid and nicotinic acid were introduced to the polyamide in the synthesized compound, which showed an expected red shift in the UV spectrum. These compounds may function as a potential tool in the detection of the polyamide binding to DNA.  相似文献

The DNA of P3 promoter region of IGF-Ⅱ gene was obtained by means of PCR technique. The examination of DNA polymorphism by restriction endonuclease BstE Ⅱ and the examination of AFP by bioluminescence immunoassay technique were carried out. The results have a significant difference(P<0.005). But the positive rate of AFP is higher than that of DNA polymorphism. The experimental result shows that the change of the DNA polymorphism of IGF-Ⅱis not the only carcinogenic factor. The suggested unite examination is the best method for the diagnosis of the primary hepatocellular carcinoma.  相似文献

The decomposition of alkylcyclopentadienyl nitrosyl -complexes of nickel, (C5H4R)(NO)Ni (R=H, Et,i-Pr, CH2Ph), under the action of electron impact has been studied. The nature of the nitrosyl ligand has been shown to be the factor determining the main fragmentation pathway which involves the abstraction of an NO molecule. The effect of the nature of the ligand on the ability of the molecular ion (C5H4R)LNi+ (L=C5H4R, C5H5, C3H5, NO) to rearrange with hydrogen atom migration from one ligand to another has been considered.
