The sample-to-sample fluctuations of the free energy in finite-dimensional Ising spin glasses are calculated, using the replica method, from higher order terms in the replica number n. It is shown that the Parisi symmetry breaking scheme does not give the correct answers for these higher order terms. A modified symmetry breaking scheme with the same stability is shown to resolve the problem. 相似文献

We propose a general method by which an Ising spin of a spin-S Ising model is decomposed into Ising spins less than S. Some exactly solvable spin-S Ising models with S greater than 1/2 are obtained without using Horiguchi's condition or its extended conditions. Numerical and analytical results are presented for the magnetic ordering in a bond-diluted spin-1/2 and spin-1 mixed transverse Ising system with a single-ion anisotropy on a honeycomb lattice.Special emphsis is placed on the magnetic ordering under the bond dilution and percolation threshold.We discuss in detail the influence of transverse fields of different sublattics on the normal magnetic ordering and on the magnetic ordering induced by single-lon anisotropy.We find that the magnetic ordering of a system exhibits an explicit difference when receiving the transverse field.This phenomenon has not been revealed in previous reports. 相似文献

The fermionic Ising spin glass (SG) model in the presence of a transverse magnetic field Γ is studied within a cluster mean field theory. The model considers an infinite-range interaction among magnetic moments of clusters with a short-range ferromagnetic intracluster coupling J0. The spin operators are written as a bilinear combination of fermionic operators. In this quantum SG model, the intercluster disorder is treated by using a framework of one-step replica symmetry breaking (RSB) within the static approximation. The effective intracluster interaction is then computed by means of an exact diagonalization method. Results for several values of cluster size ns, Γ and J0 are presented. For instance, the specific heat can show a broad maximum at a temperature T∗ above the freezing temperature Tf, which is characterized by the intercluster RSB. The difference between T∗ and Tf is enhanced by Γ, which suggests that the quantum effects can increase the ratio T∗/Tf. Phase diagrams (T versus Γ) show that the critical temperature Tf(Γ) decreases for any values of ns and J0 when Γ increases until it reaches a quantum critical point at some value of Γc. 相似文献

We compute the complexity [logarithm of the number of Thouless-Anderson-Palmer (TAP) states] associated with minima and index-one saddle points of the TAP free energy. Higher-index saddles have smaller complexities. The two leading complexities are equal, consistent with the Morse theorem on the total number of turning points, and have the value given by Bray and Moore [J. Phys. C, ()]]. The stationarity of the high-temperature free energy in the Ising model for spin glasses has been proved by use of the generalized Legendre transformation between the functionals Uc(hα) and U'c(Sα). The stability of the spin-glass phase against a magnetic field is studied in the three- and four-dimensional Edwards-Anderson Ising spin glasses. Effective couplings J(eff) and effective fields H(eff) associated with length scale L are measured by a numerical domain-wall renormalization-group method. The results obtained by scaling analysis of the data strongly indicate the existence of a crossover length beyond which the spin-glass order is destroyed by field H. The crossover length well obeys a power law of H which diverges as H --> 0 but remains finite for any nonzero H, implying that the spin-glass phase is absent even in an infinitesimal field. These results are well consistent with the droplet theory for short-range spin glasses. 相似文献
