We prove several new results on the absolutely continuous spectra of perturbed one-dimensional Stark operators. First, we find new classes of perturbations, characterized mainly by smoothness conditions, which preserve purely absolutely continuous spectrum. Then we establish stability of the absolutely continuous spectrum in more general situations, where imbedded singular spectrum may occur. We present two kinds of optimal conditions for the stability of absolutely continuous spectrum: decay and smoothness. In the decay direction, we show that a sufficient (in the power scale) condition is |q(x)|≤C(1+|x|)?1/4?ε; in the smoothness direction, a sufficient condition in Hölder classes isq∈C1/2+ε(R). On the other hand, we show that there exist potentials which both satisfy |q(x)|≤C(1+|x|)?1/4 and belong toC1/2(R) for which the spectrum becomes purely singular on the whole real axis, so that the above results are optimal within the scales considered. 相似文献

In this paper we introduce some new sequences of positive linear operators, acting on a sufficiently large space of continuous functions on the real line, which generalize Gauss–Weierstrass operators.We study their approximation properties and prove an asymptotic formula that relates such operators to a second order elliptic differential operator of the form Lu?αu′′+βu′+γu.Shape-preserving and regularity properties are also investigated. 相似文献

In this paper we consider two classes of random Hamiltonians on $L^2({\mathbb R}^d)$ : one that imitates the lattice case and the other a Schr?dinger operator with non-decaying, non-sparse potential both of which exhibit a.c. spectrum. We investigate the existence and statistical properties of absolutely continuous invariant measures for multidimensional expanding maps with singularities. The key point is the establishment of a spectral gap in the spectrum of the transfer operator. Our assumptions appear quite naturally for maps with singularities. In order to extend the theory of optimal domains for continuous operators on a Banach function space X(μ) over a finite measure μ, we consider operators T satisfying other type of inequalities than the one given by the continuity which occur in several well-known factorization theorems (for instance, Pisier Factorization Theorem through Lorentz spaces, pth-power factorable operators …). We prove that such a T factorizes through a space of multiplication operators which can be understood in a certain sense as the optimal domain for T. Our extended optimal domain technique does not need necessarily the equivalence between μ and the measure defined by the operator T and, by using δ-rings, μ is allowed to be infinite. Classical and new examples and applications of our results are also given, including some new results on the Hardy operator and a factorization theorem through Hilbert spaces. 相似文献

Summary Let K be a compact Hausdorff space and let E be a Banach space. We denote by C(K, E) the Banach space of all E-valued continuous functions defined on K, endowed with the supremum norm. We study in this paper Banach-Saks operators defined on C(K, E) spaces. In this paper, using the concept of unbounded order convergence in Riesz spaces, we define new classes of operators, named unbounded order continuous (uo-continuous, for short) and boundedly unbounded order continuous operators. We give some conditions under which uo-continuity will be equivalent to order continuity of some operators on Riesz spaces. We prove that every non quasi-analytic Carleman class contains functions whose graph supports measures that are absolutely continuous with respect to arc length measure and yet they have independent convolution powers in the measure algebra . The proof relies on conditions which ensure that the canonical map between two Cantor sets can be extended to a function in an arbitrary prescribed non quasi-analytic Carleman class.
