Dynamics of radical cations and electrons in an admixture of a linear saturated hydrocarbon (n-dodecane) and halocarbon (carbon tetrachloride, CCl(4)) were investigated by picosecond electron beam pulse radiolysis. The decay of thermalized electrons (e(th)(-)) observed in infrared transient photoabsorption were simply accelerated by the addition of CCl(4), giving a high rate constant of 2.3 × 10(11) mol(-1) dm(3) s(-1). The decrease of the initial yield of e(th)(-) was quantified by C(37) (50 mmol), which is linked to the reaction of epithermal electrons (e(-)) with CCl(4). In contrast, the n-dodecane radical cation (RH(2)(?+)) monitored in the near-infrared indicated a convex-type dependence of the decay rate on CCl(4) concentration, although the initial yield of RH(2)(?+) remained almost constant up to a much higher CCl(4) concentration. The decay of RH(2)(?+) was analyzed by Monte Carlo simulations of geminate ion recombination with e(th)(-), chlorine anion (Cl(-)) formed via dissociative electron attachment, and CCl(4) radical anion. The results showed a good agreement with the experiments by considering two assumptions: (1) CCl(4) radical anion formed via e(th)(-) attachment and (2) narrowing of the initial distribution of Cl(-). The decrease in the initial yield of RH(2)(?+) at high CCl(4) concentration was well explained by immediate decomposition of CCl(4)(?+) to CCl(3)(+) and hole transfer from CCl(4)(?+) to adjacent RH(2) without diffusive motion of the reactants. Time-dependent density functional theory supported the spectroscopic assignment of intermediate species in the n-dodecane/CCl(4) system. The present results would be of help in understanding the electron capture reaction in multicomponent systems such as a chemically amplified resist in lithography.  相似文献

We report absolute elastic differential, integral and momentum transfer cross sections for electron interactions with CCl(4). The incident electron energy range is 1.5-100 eV, and the scattered electron angular range for the differential measurements varies from 15°-130°. The absolute scale of the differential cross section was set using the relative flow technique with helium as the reference species. Comparison with previous total cross sections shows good agreement. Atomic-like behaviour in this scattering system is shown here for the first time, and is further investigated by comparing the CCl(4) elastic cross sections to recent results on the halomethanes and atomic chlorine at higher impact energies [H. Kato, T. Asahina, H. Masui, M. Hoshino, H. Tanaka, H. Cho, O. Ingólfsson, F. Blanco, G. Garcia, S. J. Buckman, and M. J. Brunger, J. Chem. Phys. 132, 074309 (2010)].  相似文献

Absolute partial and total cross sections for electron-impact ionization of CCl4 and CCl2F2 are reported for electron energies from threshold to 1000 eV. The product ions are mass analyzed using a time-of-flight mass spectrometer and detected with a position-sensitive detector whose output demonstrates that all product ion species are collected with equal efficiency irrespective of their initial kinetic energies. Data are presented for production of CCl3(+), CCl2(+), CCl+, C+, Cl2(+), and CCl3(2+) from CCl4; and for production of CCl(2)F+, CClF2(+), CClF(+), (CCl+ + CF2(+)), Cl+, CF+, F+, and C+ from CCl2F2. Data are also reported for formation of (CCl2(+),Cl+) and (CCl+, Cl+) ion pairs from CCl4. The total cross section for each target is obtained as the sum of the partial cross sections. The overall uncertainty in the absolute cross sections for most of the singly charged ions is +/- 5-7 %. The present partial cross sections for lighter fragment ions are found to be considerably greater than had been previously reported but the most recent total cross section measurements agree well with those reported here. Neither the binary-encounter-Bethe theory nor the Deutsch-Mark theory reproduces the experimental cross sections correctly for both targets.  相似文献

It is the first time that direct electron transfer of copper, zinc-superoxide dismutase (Cu, Zn-SOD) is realized at nanospherical, nanorodlike, and nanopyramidal gold nanostructures, without any mediators or promoters. Thermodynamic and kinetic parameters of the electron transfer vary with the morphology of the electrodeposited gold nanostructures, suggesting the morphology-dependent electrochemistry of SOD. Experimental results reveal that SOD is strongly confined onto the nanostructured gold surfaces and processes its inherent enzymatic activity after being adsorbed on all three kinds of gold nanostructures, which also enable the direct electron transfer of SOD itself. A combination of the facilitated direct electron transfer and the bifunctional enzymatic catalytic activities of the SOD substantially offers a dual electrochemical approach to determination of O2(*-), in which O2(*-) could be detected both anodically and cathodically. In both the oxidation and reduction regions, the present O2(*-) biosensors display excellent analytical performance, such as wide linear range, low detection limit, quick response time, and good stability and reproducibility, while not being limited by interferences, for instance, uric acid, ascorbic acid, and hydrogen peroxide.  相似文献

The reactions of zerovalent iron with water and carbon tetrachloride are of interest for environmental remediation of contaminated water and soil. Atom-dropping experiments have shown that the reactions of iron atoms with water and CCl(4) may produce HFeOH and FeCl(2), respectively, but these compounds are themselves unreactive toward CCl(4) at the low temperatures under which the atom-dropping experiments were performed. We report a modeling study of these reactions using density functional theory, ab initio Hartree-Fock and couple-cluster theory, and principles of Marcus-Hush theory to characterize the underlying intrinsic barriers and rationalize the experimental results. Electron-correlated CCSD(T) calculations (at B3LYP/TZVP optimized structures) show that the transition state for Cl atom transfer from CCl(4) to HFeOH arises from crossing of electronic states in which the configuration of Fe changes from a quintet high spin state in the Fe(II) reactant to a sextet high spin state in the Fe(III) products. The crossing point is 23.8 kcal/mol above a long-range precursor complex that is 2.1 kcal/mol more stable than the separated reactants. The electronic structure changes in these Cl atom transfer reactions involve unpairing of d electrons in Fe(II) and their recoupling with Cl-C σ bond electrons. These processes can be conveniently described by invoking the self-exchange reactions HFeOH/HFeClOH, FeCl(2)/FeCl(3), and CCl(4)/(?)CCl(3) for which we determined the energy barriers to be 15.5, 13.1, 18.6 kcal/mol, respectively. For the cross reaction FeCl(2)/CCl(4), we estimated a barrier of 16.6 kcal/mol relative to the separated reactants and 21.1 kcal/mol from the precursor complex. The magnitudes of the reaction barriers are consistent with reports of the absence of products in the atom-dropping experiments.  相似文献

Electron transfer from K atoms to oriented CH3CN, CH3NC, and CCl3CN is studied in crossed beams at energies near the threshold for forming an ion pair. For the methyl compounds, the dominant ions are K+ and CN-; the steric asymmetry is very small and energy-independent, characteristic of sideways attack with the electron apparently entering the pi*CN antibonding orbital. Migration of the electron to the sigma*CC orbital to break the C-C bond is greatly facilitated by interaction with the atomic donor. CH2CN- is formed in collisions preferring CH3-end attack, and the steric asymmetry becomes very large near threshold. CCl3CN mostly forms Cl- in collisions slightly favoring the CCl3 end with a small energy dependence with the electron apparently entering the sigma* LUMO. CN- is formed in much smaller yield with a slight preference for the CN end. The parent negative ion CCl3CN- is observed, and a lower limit for its electron affinity is estimated to be 0.3 eV. Fragment ions CCl2CN- and CClCN- are also observed with upper limits for the quantity bond dissociation energy - electron affinity (BDE - EA) estimated to be 0.6 and 1.0 eV, respectively.  相似文献

Atomic alignment effects for the formation of ArCl*(C) and CCl2*(A) in the reaction of Ar((3)P 2) + CCl 4 have been measured by using an oriented Ar( (3)P2, M J=2) beam at a collision energy of 0.08 eV. The emission intensity for ArCl*(C) and CCl2*(A) has been measured as a function of the magnetic orientation field direction in the collision frame. A significant atomic alignment effect is observed for the atom transfer process [ArCl*(C) formation]. Formation of ArCl*(C) is modestly enhanced when the electron angular momentum of the Ar((3)P 2) reactant is aligned along the relative velocity vector, while the excitation transfer process [CCl2*(A) formation] shows little alignment effect.  相似文献

For the case of weak feed gas decomposition, where the concentration of CCl4 exceeds those of decomposition and built-up products, the emission of CCl* is shown to originate from dissociative excitation of CCl4. With electron concentration measured independently, the kinetics of CCl4 decomposition has been extracted from the time dependence of the CCl* intensity. Supported by EPR determinations of radical concentrations in rapidly flowing CCl4 and CCl4/O2 afterglows, the primary decomposition reaction is shown to be the electron impact dissociation into CCl3 and Cl. Its rate constant (k 1=4×10–8 cm3s–1) indicates strongly that dissociative electron attachment is the main reaction channel at least at r.f. power densities just above the threshold of a self-maintaining discharge. At extremely low mean electron energies the emission of a continuum is observed, which is tentatively ascribed to the radiative CCl3-Cl recombination.  相似文献

Reaction of carotenoids with CCl_3OO~· by using pulse radiolysis   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
CCl4 as a selective toxin to liver can be metabolized into the free radical 3CClg by cyto- chrome P450 through a reductive dehalogenation. In the presence of oxygen, 3CClg reacts rapidly with O2 to form CCl3OO·[1], which reacts with various biological molecules, including DNA bases, amino acids and lipids and leads to various types of tissue injury[2]. CCl3OO· is used as a model of alkyl peroxyl radicals because it can be generated in water/alcohol solution, in which sufficient solubi…  相似文献

We used time-resolved two-photon photoemission (2PPE) spectroscopy to investigate the photochemical behavior, the interfacial electronic structure, and the fate of photogenerated hot electron for carbon tetrachloride adsorbed on Ag(111). The photodissociation cross section was determined over a wide range of photon energy from 1.62 to 5.69 eV, which suggested a low-lying electron affinity level of adsorbed CCl4. A CCl4-derived unoccupied state located at 3.41 eV above the Fermi level was attributed to an image potential (IP) state based on its binding energy and effective mass. Polarization dependence of the 2PPE signal revealed that the IP state was populated by an indirect excitation process involving scattering of photoexcited hot electrons rather than direct electronic transition from a bulk band. The lifetime of the IP state was much shorter on the CCl4-covered Ag(111) surface than on the clean one, implying that the electron in the IP state is scavenged effectively by CCl4, probably through dissociative attachment to it. These results are significant in the sense that they provide dynamical evidence for a new relaxation pathway of the IP state in addition to the more common pathway involving back transfer of electron to the substrate.  相似文献

The adsorption and hydrogenation of carbon tetrachloride (CCl(4)) on a Pt (111) surface have been investigated using density functional theory (DFT). We have performed calculations on the adsorption energies and structures of CCl(4) on four different adsorption sites of a Pt (111) surface using the full adsorbate geometry optimization method. The results show that the adsorption energy of all of the potential sites is less than -17 kcal/mol, which indicates that CCl(4) is physiosorbed on a Pt (111) surface through van der Waals interactions. The dissociation and hydrogenation pathways were investigated by a transition state search. For the Pt(15), Pt(19), and Pt(25) cluster surfaces, the activation energies of dissociation obtained in this work are 15.69, 16.94, and 16.77 kcal/mol, respectively. The hydrogenation of CCl(3). was studied at the on-top site of the Pt(15) cluster, and the calculated activation energy is 5.06 kcal/mol. The small activation energies indicate that the Pt (111) surface has high catalytic activity for the CCl(4) hydrogenation reaction. In addition, the Hirshfeld population analysis reveals that the charge transfer from the Pt (111) surface to the adsorbates occurs in both the dissociation and hydrogenation pathways.  相似文献

The kinetics of decomposition and subsequent chemistry of adsorbed CF(2)Cl(2), activated by low-energy electron irradiation, have been examined and compared with CCl(4). These molecules have been adsorbed alone and coadsorbed with water ice films of different thicknesses on metal surfaces (Ru; Au) at low temperatures (25 K; 100 K). The studies have been performed with temperature programmed desorption (TPD), reflection absorption infrared spectroscopy (RAIRS), and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). TPD data reveal the efficient decomposition of both halocarbon molecules under electron bombardment, which proceeds via dissociative electron attachment (DEA) of low-energy secondary electrons. The rates of CF(2)Cl(2) and CCl(4) dissociation increase in an H(2)O (D(2)O) environment (2-3x), but the increase is smaller than that reported in recent literature. The highest initial cross sections for halocarbon decomposition coadsorbed with H(2)O, using 180 eV incident electrons, are measured (using TPD) to be 1.0+/-0.2 x 10(-15) cm(2) for CF(2)Cl(2) and 2.5+/-0.2 x 10(-15) cm(2) for CCl(4). RAIRS and XPS studies confirm the decomposition of halocarbon molecules codeposited with water molecules, and provide insights into the irradiation products. Electron-induced generation of Cl(-) and F(-) anions in the halocarbon/water films and production of H(3)O(+), CO(2), and intermediate compounds COF(2) (for CF(2)Cl(2)) and COCl(2), C(2)Cl(4) (for CCl(4)) under electron irradiation have been detected using XPS, TPD, and RAIRS. The products and the decomposition kinetics are similar to those observed in our recent experiments involving x-ray photons as the source of ionizing irradiation.  相似文献

The ultrafast molecular dynamics of liquid aromatic molecules, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, cumene, and 1,3-diphenylpropane, and the mixtures with CCl(4) have been investigated by means of femtosecond optical heterodyne-detected Raman-induced Kerr effect spectroscopy. The picosecond Kerr transients of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and cumene and the mixtures with CCl(4) show a biexponential feature. 1,3-Diphenylpropane and the mixtures with CCl(4) show triexponential picosecond Kerr transients. The slow relaxation time constants of the aromatic molecules and the mixtures with CCl(4) are qualitatively described by the Stoke-Einstein-Debye hydrodynamic model. The ultrafast dynamics have been discussed based on the Kerr spectra in the frequency range of 0-800 cm(-1) obtained by the Fourier transform analysis of the Kerr transients. The line shapes of the low-frequency intermolecular spectra located at 0-180 cm(-1) frequency range have been analyzed by two Brownian oscillators ( approximately 11 cm(-1) and approximately 45 cm(-1) peaks) and an antisymmetric Gaussian function ( approximately 65 cm(-1) peak). The spectrum shape of 1,3-diphenylpropane is quite different from the spectrum shapes of the other aromatic molecules for the low magnitude of the low-frequency mode of 1,3-diphenylpropane and/or an intramolecular vibration. Although the concentration dependences of the low- and intermediate-frequency intermolecular modes (Brownian oscillators) do not show a significant trend, the width of high-frequency intermolecular mode (antisymmetric Gaussian) becomes narrower with the higher CCl(4) concentration for all the aromatics mixtures with CCl(4). The result indicates that the inhomogeneity of the intermolecular vibrational mode in aromatics/CCl(4) mixtures is decreasing with the lower concentration of aromatics. The intramolecular vibrational modes of the aromatic molecules observed in the Kerr spectra are also shown with the calculation results based on the density functional theory.  相似文献

Electron impact ionization of carbon tetrachloride was studied as a function of electron energy from threshold up to 180 eV. A double-focusing mass spectrometer system in combination with an improved electron impact ion source was used, alleviating the problems of ion extraction from the source and the transmission of the extracted ions through the mass spectrometer system. Absolute partial ionization cross sections for the occurrence of CCl 3 + , CCl 2 + , CCl+, Cl 2 + , Cl+, C+, CCl 3 2+ , and CCl 2 2+ have been determined. In addition, the total ionization cross-section function of CCl4 is reported and compared with theoretical predictions based on a classical binary encounter approximation. Using nth root extrapolation the following ionization energies of the doubly ionized fragment ions have been derived: AE(CCl 3 2+ )=30.4±0.3 eV; and AE (CCl 2 2+ )=31.8±0.3 eV. In accordance with theoretical predictions and previous results, no stable CCl 4 + has been detected, however, metastable dissociation processes CCl 4 + CCl 3 + have been observed.  相似文献

In the present study the capacity of Radix Paeoniae Rubra aqueous extract (RPRAE) as an antioxidant to protect against carbon tetrachloride (CCl(4))-induced oxidative stress and hepatotoxicity in Wistar rats was investigated. Six groups of rats were used. Radix Paeoniae Rubra aqueous extract (100 or 200 or 300 mg/kg of bw) or bifendate (100 mg/kg of bw) were given daily by gavage to the animals on 28 consecutive days to elucidate the protective effects against CCl(4)-induced hepatotoxicity. The 20% CCl(4)/olive oil was gavage of gastric tube twice a week (on the third and seventh days of each week). The animals of normal control group were given only vehicle. The animals of CCl(4)-treated group were administered with CCl(4) twice a week (on the third and seventh days of each week) and with vehicle on rest of the days. The test materials were found effective as hepatoprotective agents, as evidenced by plasma and liver biochemical parameters. Therefore, the results of this study show that Radix Paeoniae Rubra aqueous extract can protect the liver against CCl(4)-induced oxidative damage in rats, and the hepatoprotective effects might be correlated with its antioxidant and free radical scavenger effects.  相似文献

Semiquinone radical anion of 1-(p-tolylsulfinyl)-2,5-benzoquinone (TolSQ(*-)) forms a strong hydrogen bond with protonated histidine (TolSQ(*-)/His x 2 H(+)), which was successfully detected by electron spin resonance. Strong hydrogen bonding between TolSQ(*-) and His x 2 H(+) results in acceleration of electron transfer (ET) from ferrocenes [R2Fc, R = C5H5, C5H4(n-Bu), C5H4Me] to TolSQ, when the one-electron reduction potential of TolSQ is largely shifted to the positive direction in the presence of His x 2 H(+). The rates of His x 2 H(+)-promoted ET from R2Fc to TolSQ exhibit deuterium kinetic isotope effects due to partial dissociation of the N-H bond in His x 2 H(+) at the transition state, when His x 2 H(+) is replaced by the deuterated compound (His x 2 D(+)-d6). The observed deuterium kinetic isotope effect (kH/kD) decreases continuously with increasing the driving force of ET to approach kH/kD = 1.0. On the other hand, His x 2 H(+) also promotes a hydride reduction of TolSQ by an NADH analogue, 9,10-dihydro-10-methylacridine (AcrH2). The hydride reduction proceeds via the one-step hydride-transfer pathway. In such a case, a large deuterium kinetic isotope effect is observed in the rate of the hydride transfer, when AcrH2 is replaced by the dideuterated compound (AcrD2). In sharp contrast to this, no deuterium kinetic isotope effect is observed, when His x 2 H(+) is replaced by His x 2 D(+)-d6. On the other hand, direct protonation of TolSQ and 9,10-phenanthrenequinone (PQ) also results in efficient reductions of TolSQH(+) and PQH(+) by AcrH2, respectively. In this case, however, the hydride-transfer reactions occur via the ET pathway, that is, ET from AcrH2 to TolSQH(+) and PQH(+) occurs in preference to direct hydride transfer from AcrH2 to TolSQH(+) and PQH(+), respectively. The AcrH2(*+) produced by the ET oxidation of AcrH2 by TolSQH(+) and PQH(+) was directly detected by using a stopped-flow technique.  相似文献

State-of-the-art ab initio calculations have been carried out on the X1A1, ?3B1 and A1B1 states of CCl2 and the X2B1 state of CCl2-. Franck-Condon factors including anharmonicity have been calculated, between the CCl2 states, and between the CCl2- X2B1 state and the CCl2 states. They are used to simulate the A-X single-vibronic-level (SVL) emission spectra of CCl2 determined by M.-L. Lui et al. [PCCP 2003, 5, 352] and the 364 nm laser photodetachment spectrum of CCl2- obtained by R. L. Schwartz et al. [J. Phys. Chem. A 1999, 103, 8213]. Comparison between simulated and observed spectra confirms the vibrational assignments of the X2B1 SVL emission spectra and the T0 position of the A1B1 state of CCl2. For the photodetachment spectrum of CCl2-, spectral simulation shows that the higher binding energy ?3B1(CCl2) <-- X2B1(CCl2-) band is well separated from the X1A1(CCl2) <-- X2B1(CCl2-) band. It is concluded that the observed second band, which overlaps heavily with the X1A1(CCl2) <-- X2B1(CCl2-) band in the photodetachment spectrum of CCl2- cannot be assigned to the CCl2(?3B1) + e --> CCl2-(X2B1) detachment process. Further ab initio calculations carried out in the present investigation support the suggestion that the second band in the 364 nm photodetachment spectrum of CCl2- is due to detachment from an excited state of CCl2-, a linear quartet state, to a triplet state of CCl2. These calculations identify the anionic state to be the lowest 4Sigmag- (4Sigma-) state, which photodetaches vertically to the 3Sigmag- (3Sigma-; adiabatically ?3B1) and/or 3Pi(u) (3Pi) states of CCl2 to give the second band observed in the 364 nm photodetachment spectrum of CCl2-.  相似文献

Infrared spectroscopy studies of methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (MHB) in 17 different organic solvents and in ethanol/CCl4 binary solvent were undertaken to investigate the solvent-solute interactions. The frequencies of carbonyl stretching vibration nu(C=O) of MHB in single solvents were correlated with the solvent acceptor number (AN) and the linear solvation energy relationships (LSER). The assignments of the two bands of nu(C=O) of MHB in alcohols and the single one of that in non-alcoholic solvents were discussed. The shifts of nu(C=O) of MHB in ethanol/CCl4 binary solvents showed that several kinds of solute-solvent hydrogen bonding interactions coexisted in the mixture solvents, with a change in the mole fraction of ethanol in the binary solvents.  相似文献

CCl4 对左旋氧氟沙星超声降解的影响   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2

Photoinduced electron-transfer processes of alkyl-inserted ferrocene-trimethylene-oligothiophene-fullerene (Fc-tm-nT-C60) linked triads and directly linked ferrocene-oligothiophene-fullerene(Fc-nT-C60) triads were investigated using time-resolved fluorescence and transient absorption spectroscopic methods. In nonpolar solvent, the energy-transfer (EN) process occurred from 1nT* to C60 for both triads, without forming the charge-separated (CS) state. In polar solvent, the initial CS state, Fc-tm-nT(*+)-C60(*-), was formed via Fc-tm-nT-1C60 after the EN process from 1nT by photoexcitation of the nT moiety and after direct photoexcitation of the C60 moiety. For Fc-tm-nT(*+)-C60(*-), the positive charge shifted from the nT(*+) moiety to the Fc moiety, producing the final CS state, Fc(*+)-tm-nT-C60(*-), which lasted for 22-330 ns by changing nT from 4T to 12T. For Fc-nT-C60 in polar solvent, the CS state, in which the radical cation is delocalized on both Fc and nT moieties ((Fc-nT)(*+)-C60(*-)), was formed immediately after direct photoexcitation of the nT and C60 moieties. The lifetimes of (Fc-nT)(*+)-C60(*-) were estimated to be 0.1-50 ns by changing nT from 4T to 12T. The longer lifetimes of Fc(*+)-tm-nT-C60(*-) than those of (Fc-nT)(*+)-C60(*-) are caused by the insertion of the trimethylene chain to prevent the pi-conjugation between the Fc and nT moieties. The lifetimes for Fc(*+)-tm-nT-C60(*-) and (Fc-nT)(*+)-C60(*-) are prolonged by changing nT from 4T to 12T. For the charge-recombination process of Fc(*+)-tm-nT-C60(*-), the damping factor was evaluated to be 0.10 A(-1). For (Fc-nT)(*+)-C60(*-), the oxidation potentials of the nT moieties control the electron-transfer process with reflecting stabilization of the radical cations of the nT moieties.  相似文献
