De la K-théorie algébrique vers la K-théorie hermitienne

In this Note, we introduce a new morphism between algebraic and hermitian K-theory. The topological analog is the Adams operation ${\psi }^2$ in real K-theory. From this morphism, we deduce a lower bound for the higher algebraic K-theory of a ring A in terms of the classical Witt group of the ring $A?A^{\mathrm{op}}$. To cite this article: M. Karoubi, C. R. Summary The theoretical distribution of impurities along a growing ice crystal is calculated for an arbitrary initial distribution in the liquid, and agrees qualitatively with results obtained with hydrofluoric acid. Stirring the liquid phase allows a satisfactory determination of the segregation coefficient for HF, NH₃, and NH₄F as a function of the concentration of the solution.

Ensembles régénératifs de la droite

Résumé La théorie des ensembles régénératifs stationnaires de la droite a été étudiée récemment par Taksar (Regerative sets on real line — Séminaire de probabilités XIV, Lecture Notes in Mathematics 784, Springer 1980). Dans le présent article, nous développons une théorie des ensembles régénératifs de la droite (non nécessairement stationnaires) à partir d'une définition extrêmement maniable, nouvelle même pour les ensembles régénératifs de ₊, et nous retrouvons de manière simple les résultats de Taksar concernant le cas stationnaire.

Sur une généralisation de la notion de V-variété

We consider a topological space which is locally isomorphic to the quotient of R^k by the action of a discrete group and we call it quasifold of dimension k. Quasifolds generalize manifolds and orbifolds and represent the natural framework for performing symplectic reduction with respect to the induced action of any Lie subgroup, compact or not, of a torus. We define quasitori, Hamiltonian actions of quasitori and the moment mapping for symplectic quasifolds, and we show that every simple convex polytope, rational or not, is the image of the moment mapping for the action of a quasitorus on a quasifold.

Résumé On étudie la différentiabilité de la fonction croissance d'une variété riemannienne complète. En général, elle a la même régularité qu'une fonction concave: la dérivée peut avoir des sauts pour lesquels on donne une formule. Dans le cas analytique réel, la fonction croissance est de classeC ¹. Un exemple montre qu'elle n'est pas nécessairementC ². A titre d'application, nous construisons, pour toute variété ouverte paracompacteM et toute fonction croissantev de classeC ¹, une métrique continue de croissance égale àv et une métrique de classeC surM de croissance proche dev en topologieC ¹-fine.

Modelación numérica de la descarga térmica de la Central Nucleoeléctrica Laguna Verde

This work contributes to the study of nuclear plant thermal discharges in coastal areas by using a numerical model which solves the Navier-Stokes-Reynolds equations for shallow waters and the energy equation for computing temperature variations. The numerical model takes into account the heat flux given in the upper layer, where the free surface and the atmosphere interact. In this study, the thermal plume dispersion from the nuclear power plant Laguna Verde, Veracruz, Mexico, is analyzed. Bathymetry, oceanographic, meteorological, hydrologic and plant operating data are used to run numerical simulations. The results are compared against observed data showing good agreement. The Nash-Suffle's criterion is also applied to verify the quality of the numerical solution obtaining suitable results.
