Magnetization and susceptibility measurements were performed on a single crystal of DyNi5 along the three main symmetry axes of the ortho-hexagonal cell. Below its ordering temperature (Tc = 11.6 K), b and c are respectively the easy and hard magnetization axes. The strong anisotropy originates from the crystalline electric field acting on the 4f electrons of the Dy3+ ions. A small magnetization is induced on nickel atoms by the applied field and the exchange interactions with the dysprosium atoms. The crystal field parameters, the molecular field coefficients and the susceptibility of nickel atoms are determined from the experimental data.  相似文献

A quantum theory of spin-orientational transitions in a tetragonal two-sublattice antiferromagnet with large single-ion anisotropy is developed. It is shown that the values of observable (physical) parameters that define the crystal properties for H?C4 and H⊥C4, can greatly differ not only from each other but from bare spin-hamiltonian constants.  相似文献

Bubble domain structure in Dy0.3Tm0.7FeO3 mixed orthoferrite was studied between room temperature and 480 K using the Faraday effect. Temperature dependence of the magnetization and domain wall energy density has been determined. Starting from the molecular field theory and one-ion theory of magnetocrystalline anisotropy, expressions describing a temperature dependence of the domain wall energy density in orthoferrites have been derived. In the expression for magnetocrystalline energy, uniaxial as well as cubic anisotropy have been accounted for.  相似文献

The value of the effective magnetic anisotropy constant of the ferrimagnetic nanoparticles Zn0.15Ni0.85Fe2O4 embedded in a SiO2 silica matrix, determined through ferromagnetic resonance (FMR), is much higher than the magnetocrystalline anisotropy constant. The higher value of the anisotropy constant is due to the existence of surface anisotropy. However, even if the magnetic anisotropy is high, the ferrimagnetic nanoparticles with a 15% concentration, which are isolated in a SiO2 matrix, display a superparamagnetic (SPM) behavior at room temperature and at a frequency of the magnetization field equal to 50 Hz. The FMR spectrum of the novel nanocomposite (Zn0.15Ni0.85Fe2O4)0.15/(SiO2)0.85, recorded at room temperature and a frequency of 9.060 GHz, is observed at a resonance field (B0r) of 0.2285 T, which is substantially lower than the field corresponding to free electron resonance (ESR) (0.3236 T). Apart from the line corresponding to the resonance of the nanoparticle system, the spectrum also contains an additional weaker line, identified for a resonance field of ∼0.12 T, which is appreciably lower than B0r. This line was attributed to magnetic ions complex that is in a disordered structure in the layer that has an average thickness of 1.4 nm, this layer being situated on the surface of the Zn0.15Ni0.85Fe2O4 nanoparticles that have a mean magnetic diameter of 8.9 nm.  相似文献

We report the anomalous Nernst effect in trilayers containing a thin film of the half-metallic ferromagnetic Heusler alloy Co2Fe0.4Mn0.6Si with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy. The structure is MgO/CFMS/Pd and we have studied the variation of anomalous Hall and Nernst effects as a function of CFMS and Pd thickness. The anomalous Nernst coefficient reaches 0.5 μV/K at room temperature and we have observed a strong dependence of the anomalous Nernst coefficient on the thickness of both layers. Our results indicate that inducing perpendicular magnetic anisotropy in a strongly spin-polarising Heusler alloy such as CFMS is very promising for new thermoelectric devices based on exploiting the anomalous Nernst effect.  相似文献

NMR and susceptibility measurements have been made on a randomly mixed insulating ferrimagnet and antiferromagnet, MnxZn1-xCr2O4. The thermoremanence and the induced unidirectional anisotropy were observed for concentrations lower than x = 0.80, after field cooling. The compound Mn0.75Mg0.25Cr2O4 shows similar behaviour. When the latter is doped with V3+ at the B sites, its magnetic anisotropy increases strongly, but the change in the unidirectional anisotropy is smooth.  相似文献

We have used photoelectron emission microscopy (PEEM) and X-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) to study the effect of thin film thickness on the magnetic domain formation in La0.6Sr0.4MnO3 samples that were epitaxially grown on stepped SrTiO3 (0 0 1) substrates. The magnetic image exhibited a stripe structure elongated along the step direction, irrespective of film thickness, suggesting that uniaxial magnetic anisotropy induced by step-and-terrace structures plays an important role in the magnetic domain formation. Additional domains evolved gradually with increasing film thickness. In these domains, the direction of magnetization differed from the step direction due to biaxial magneto-crystalline anisotropy. The evolution of additional magnetic domains with increasing film thickness implies that a competition exists between the two anisotropies in LSMO films.  相似文献

Experiments on the anisotropy of Hc2 in a tantalum single crystal doped with nitrogen in order to change its behaviour from type-I to type-II superconductivity are reported. In this paper, domain rotations in Tb0.3Dy0.7Fe2 alloy under a compressive stress applied along various crystallographic axes alone have been investigated on the basis of 3D Stoner-Wohlfarth model by following the conventional free energy minimization procedure. The dependence of both the domain rotations and the strains caused by the compressive stress on the stress directions has been revealed. And it has been found that the anisotropic magnetomechanical effect arises from the dependence of the stress induced anisotropy on the stress direction. This study is very helpful for the better understanding of magnetic behavior of magnetostrictive materials under both stress and field.  相似文献

The effect of Pr substitution for Dy on the magnetization, magnetostriction, anisotropy and spin reorientation of a series of Tb0.3Dy0.7−xPrx(Fe0.9Al0.1)1.95 alloys (x=0, 0.1, 0.20, 0.25, 0.30, 0.35) at room temperature has been investigated. It was found that the magnetization and magnetostriction of the homogenized Tb0.3Dy0.7−xPrx(Fe0.9Al0.1)1.95 alloys decreases drastically with increasing x and the magnetostrictive effect disappears for x>0.2, but the spontaneous magnetostriction λ111 increases approximately linearly with increasing x. Moreover, the magnetostriction exhibits slightly bigger value at x=0.1 than the free alloys and is saturated more easily with the magnetic field H, showing that a small amount of Pr substitution is beneficial to a decrease in the magnetocrystalline anisotropy. The analysis of the Mössbauer spectra indicated that the easy magnetization direction in the {1 1 0} plane deviates slightly from the main axis of symmetry with Pr concentration x, namely spin reorientation. Comparing with the Al substitution, the effect of Pr substitution for Dy on the spin reorientation is smaller.  相似文献

The anisotropy of the magnetization and the susceptibility of the hexagonal ferrite Ba2Zn2Fe12O22 have been determined experimentally between 5 K and Tr = 367 K. The susceptibility is ascribed to the paraprocess. The measurements confirm for the first time the basic concept of the model for the anisotropy of the magnetization proposed by Callen and Callen.  相似文献

The attenuation coefficient of longitudinal sound waves propagating in ErRh4B4 has been measured as a function of applied magnetic field where the propagation direction (q) of the sound waves was oriented either parallel or perpendicular to Happlied. For both orientations there is evidence of a type II-1 superconducting transition at Hc1 for T ≈ 1.5 K. In addition, when qH an increase in attenuation is evident at Hc2, which does not appear when q 6 H, consistent with theories developed by Tachiki et al. utilizing supercurrent screening of the internal magnetic fields.  相似文献

The transverse laser induced thermoelectric voltage effect has been investigated in tilted La0.5Sr0.5CoO3 thin films grown on vicinal cut LaAlO3 (1 0 0) substrates when films are irradiated by pulse laser at room temperature. The detected voltage signals are demonstrated to originate from the transverse Seebeck effect as the linear dependence of voltage on tilted angle in the range of small tilted angle. The Seebeck coefficient anisotropy ΔS of 0.03 μV/K at room temperature is calculated and its distorted cubic structure is thought to be responsible for this. Films grown on a series of substrates with different tilted angles show the optimum angle of 19.8° for the maximum voltage. Film thickness dependence of voltage has also been studied.  相似文献

Annealing temperature dependence of the stress-induced magnetic anisotropy in Co73Mo2Si15B10s < 0) and (Co0.89Fe0.11) 72Mo3Si15B10 (λ > 0) metallic glass ribbons has been studied experimentally. The room temperature values of the induced anisotropy constants K depend strongly on the annealing conditions, and reveal a change of sign at annealing temperatures well below Tcryst. It is concluded that transient creep and steady-state creep at the elevated temperature give rise to compressive and tensile stresses, respectively, in the expression for the magnetoelastic coupling energy at room temperature.  相似文献

Evaporative deposition at oblique incidence is shown to enhance the magnetic anisotropy of an Fe20Ni80 magnetic film and induce magnetic anisotropy in an overlying, strongly isotropic Fe70Co30 film. This deposition method for the formation of an underlayer of several lattice parameters in thickness and semi-hard overlayer of a few thousands Angstroms in thickness achieves a significant change in the magnetization process and strong suppression of the coercive forces of Fe70Co30 in the hard magnetization direction. Soft magnetization of the Fe70Co30 overlayer is not achieved when one of the layers is deposited at oblique incidence. It is anticipated that shape magnetic anisotropy is responsible in part for the magnetic anisotropy induced in both in Fe20Ni80 under- and Fe70Co30 overlayer by oblique incidence evaporation.  相似文献

The magnetic properties of R2Ru2O7 pyrochlore compounds (R=Yb, Dy) were studied using specific heat down to 0.4 K and bulk magnetic measurements. These two rare-earth elements were chosen to demonstrate the effect of Ru-R exchange interaction on R magnetic sublattice, in two cases of anisotropy: axial in Dy and planar in Yb. Dy2Ru2O7 undergoes a second order transition to a fully ordered state at 1.85 K with no signs of the spin-ice state. In Yb2Ru2O7 the Yb sublattice orders gradually around 8 K due to the Ru molecular field and no further transition is observed down to 0.4 K. Including the Ru molecular field at the R site in calculations based on crystal field parameters known from titanates R2Ti2O7, allowed us to interpret experimental data.  相似文献

The in-plane magnetic anisotropy in Ni/FeMn and Ni90Fe10/FeMn exchange-biased bilayers prepared by co-evaporation under molecular beam epitaxy conditions is investigated employing longitudinal magneto-optical Kerr effect (MOKE) and ferromagnetic resonance (FMR). The exchange anisotropy was induced by a magnetic field cooling immediately after the deposition of the bilayers. Besides the induced term, the presence of an additional uniaxial anisotropy in the FM layers was detected both by MOKE and FMR, and the characteristic directions of these two anisotropy terms are not coincident. The interplay between the anisotropy contributions is discussed considering micromagnetic simulations and the in-plane resonance condition for different magnetic field orientation. X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and Mössbauer spectroscopy were used to complement the characterization of the samples.  相似文献
