A modified Kuti-Weisskopf model which satisfies the Feynman threshold constraints is considered further. Detailed predictions for the sum of neutrino and anti-neutrino differential cross sections on nucleon (which can be readily compared with forthcoming NAL data), the shapes of the structure functions ?2νp,νn and the ratio ?2νp/?2νn, and spin-dependence of inelastic electron-nucleon scattering versus scaling variable x are delineated. We also compare in some detail the general features of our model with the “model independent” approach of Feynman for quark parton theory.  相似文献

Spin-dependent parton distributions are described in a broken SU(6) quark parton model. The model predicts definite forms for the spin-dependent structure functions in deep inelastic lepton-nucleon scattering and leads to several relations between Regge intercepts and couplings. We study the processes e + N → e′ + h + anything, e+ + e? → h + anything, within the parton model of Landshoff, Polkinghorne and Short. Definite and peculiar predictions are obtained, also common to the Drell, Levy and Yan cut-off theory and to the λφ3 ladder model. These predictions can be summarized as follows: (i) in the photon fragmentation region the cross section factorizes after integration over transverse momentum of h; (ii) in the target fragmentation region Regge behaviour, valid at large ω, gives rise to double Regge exchange for small values of the Feynman variable y, but only up to y ??1/ω; (iii) the structure functions vanish at y = 0; (iv) total multiplicities in the first process increase like 1n ω for large ω, and in the second reach a finite limit at large q2.In the case where only one SU(3) multiplet of partons is present (as in the quark parton model) unique relations, valid in the limit of exact SU(3), are found between the cross section and multiplicities in the first process and the analogous quantities for the forward region of the second process.  相似文献

The cross sections of heavy quark production inpp collision and for their photo- and electroproduction are calculated in the framework of QCD. The virtual nature of the interacting gluons as well as their transverse motion and different polarizations are taken into account. The obtained cross sections exhibit more rapid growth with the initial energy than the parton model predictions and thep T distributions of produced heavy quarks are more smooth.  相似文献

Single particle inclusive electroproduction is studied by means of dual resonance models for currents making use of Müller's theorem. Generalized scaling behaviour holds when the photon mass goes to infinity in the target fragmentation region. When the photon mass is kept fixed the two current vertex factorises and the distribution of fragments becomes independent of the mass value.  相似文献

The one-particle inclusive distributions in the fragmentation regions in hadronic interactions are described in a parameter free way by a simple additative quark parton model by means of the quark fragmentation functions measured in leptoproduction. We interpret the result so that while the main interaction in hadronic collisions is due to the wee partons almost all the momenta is carried by one of the valence quarks yielding fragmentation region distributions similar to the ones in leptoproduction.  相似文献

Measurements of the inclusive pion electroproduction reaction e?+p → e?+π±+X made at the Wilson Synchrotron Laboratory are reported. Data were taken at points with nominal (Q2, W) values of (0.6, 2.67), (1.2, 2.67), (2.0, 2.67) and (1.2, 2.15) in (GeV2, GeV). A more complete angular distribution was taken at (1.2, 2.67). The virtual photoproduction cross section for π+ + missing mass is studied as a function of missing mass, Feynman scaling variables, Q2 and W. The invariant cross section show a simple behavior as a function of Q2 and W. Its dependenc on P2, x′ and φ is determined.  相似文献

Using constituent quark model constraints we calculate the gluon and sea content of pions solely in terms of their valence density and the known sea and gluon densities of the nucleon. The resulting small- predictions for and are unique and parameter free, being entirely due to QCD dynamics. Similar ideas are applied for calculating the gluon and sea content of kaons which, for our suggested choice of the kaon's valence densities, turn out to be identical to the ones of the pion. We calculate the meson scattering and electroproduction amplitudes in the S11 partial wave in a coupled-channel approach that incorporates quasi-bound quark-model states. Using the quark wave functions and the quark-meson interaction from the Cloudy Bag Model, we obtain a good overall agreement with the available experimental results for the partial widths of the N(1535) and the N(1650) resonances as well as for the pion, eta and kaon electroproduction amplitudes. Our model is consistent with the N(1535) resonance being dominantly a genuine three-quark state rather than a quasi-bound state of mesons and baryons.  相似文献

The natural interpretation of deep inelastic scattering is in terms of hard scattering on QCD constituents of the target. We examine the relation between amplitudes measured in exclusive lepto-production and the quark content of the nucleon. We show that in the Bjorken limit, the natural interpretation of amplitudes measured in these hard exclusive processes is in terms of the quark content of the meson cloud and not the target itself. In this limit, the most efficient representation of these exclusive processes is in terms of leading Regge amplitudes.  相似文献
