The framework of competence set analysis provides a new approach to complement the existing models for the consumer decision problem. Since it is essential for the firm to improve the competence set of its product or service to fully address the consumer's truly needed benefits, the effective expansion of competence sets plays an important role in marketing reality. The previous studies regarding competence set expansion have thrown light on the tree expansion processes, but forest learning is more suitable for the acquisition of product benefits than tree learning. Thus, this study looses the assumption of tree learning and conducts forest learning to design an effective expansion program. In addition, this study explores a more general problem involving intermediate attributes, compound benefits, and experiential effects. An algorithm is also provided for effective expansion of competence sets in consumer decision analysis.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the expansion processes of competence sets which have asymmetric cost functions, intermediate skills, and compound skills; among the skills, cyclic connections are possible. We introduce the concept of the stage expansion process (SEP) of the competence set, and provide mathematical programming methods to find a minimal cost SEP and the ordering of expansion.  相似文献

A competence set is a collection of skills used to solve a problem. Based on deduction graph concepts, this paper proposes a method of finding an optimal process so as to expand a decision maker's competence set to enable him to solve his problem confidently. Using the concept of minimum spanning tree, Yu and Zhang addressed the problem of the optimal expansion of competence sets. In contrast, the method proposed here enjoys the following advantages: it can deal with more general problems involving intermediate skills and compound skills; it can find the optimal solution by utilizing a 0–1 integer program; and it can be directly extended to treat multilevel competence set problems, and thus is more practically useful.This work was supported by the National Science Council, Taipei, Taiwan, Republic of China, Grant No. NSC-81-0301-H-009-501.  相似文献

This paper provides a method of finding the optimal expansion process and discusses the marginal analysis for expansion of the competence set when the cost functions are asymmetric. The concept of tree expansion process is introduced, and a method of finding the optimal tree expansion process is given. Competence set expansion is an application of habitual domain, through which a decision-maker acquires the skills required to make satisfactory decisions. The methods of Li (Operations Research 47, 1999, 209–220) and Li et al. (European Journal of Operational Research 120, 2000, 511–524) use numerous 0-1 and integer variables. This study presents a more compact model for the competence set expansion problem, which is as effective as the two methods yet more efficient.  相似文献

The problem of the competence set expansion involves determining the optimal expansion path under the minimum cost and time. As we know, the conventional competence set model only considers the problems of the static situation and the single objective. However, the dynamic situation and the multicriteria should also be simultaneously considered in practice. In this paper, a multicriteria and multistage competence set model is proposed. In order to efficiently obtain an optimal expansion path, hybrid genetic algorithms (HGA) are employed. In addition, a numerical example is used to demonstrate the proposed method. On the basis of the numerical results, we can conclude that the proposed method can provide a sound competence set model by simultaneously considering the multicriteria and multistage situations.  相似文献

The decision about curriculum modification usually takes place at the knowledge level, mainly with consideration of individual academic staff competences and qualifications. However, traditional approaches to cost estimation of curriculum modification are focused on material resources only. In this paper we present a cost estimation method and decision model for curriculum modification in educational organizations. The proposed method works at the knowledge level and employs competence sets as knowledge representation models in educational organizations. Authors used the theory of hierarchical, multilevel systems in order to define the model of the decision-making process of curriculum modification and its dimension. Basing on this and also using a fuzzy competence model the cost estimation algorithm in the form of a group competences expansion algorithm is proposed. The algorithm focuses on the cost of staff competence expansion caused by the knowledge development process.  相似文献

We study an expansion of the notion of invariance for sets with respect to controllable systems and differential inclusions. Namely, we study statistically invariant sets and statistical characteristics of attainability sets of controllable systems. We obtain a lower bound for the lower relative frequency of the absorption of the attainability set of a system by a given set and establish new sufficient conditions of the statistical invariance of the set with respect to the controllable system. We give examples of the calculation of statistical characteristics for the linear Cauchy problem and a linear controllable system with almost periodic coefficients.  相似文献

Motivated by Mandelbrot's [The Fractal Geometry of Nature, Freeman, San Francisco, 1983] idea of referring to lacunarity of Cantor sets in terms of departure from translation invariance, we study the properties of these translation sets and show how they can be used for a classification purpose. This first paper of a series of two will be devoted to set up the fundamental properties of Hausdorff measures of those intersection sets. Using the triadic expansion of the shifting number, we determine the fractal structure of intersection of triadic Cantor sets with their translates. We found that the Hausdorff measure of these sets forms a discrete spectrum whose non-zero values come only from those shifting numbers with a finite triadic expansion. We characterize this set of shifting numbers by giving a partition expression of it and the steps of its construction from a fundamental root set. Finally, we prove that intersection of Cantor sets with their translates verify a measure-conservation law with scales. The second paper will take advantage of the properties exposed here in order to utilize them in a classification context. Mainly, it will deal with the use of the discrete spectrum of measures to distinguish two Cantor-like sets of the same fractal dimension.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to investigate the stability of the solution sets for set optimization problems via improvement sets. Firstly, we consider the relations among the solution sets for optimization problem with set optimization criterion. Then, the closeness and the convexity of solution sets are discussed. Furthermore, the upper semi-continuity, Hausdorff upper semi-continuity and lower semi-continuity of solution mappings to parametric set optimization problems via improvement sets are established under some suitable conditions. Uncertain sets are an effective tool to describe unsharp concepts like “young”, “tall” and “most”. As a key concept in uncertain set theory, the independence was first defined in the paper (Liu in Fuzzy Optim Decis Mak 11(4):387–410, 2012b). However, the definition is somewhat weak to deal with uncertain sets completely. In order to overcome this disadvantage, this paper presents a stronger definition of independence of uncertain sets and discusses its mathematical properties.  相似文献

We consider a class of iterated function systems consisting of a countable infinity of non-conformal contractions, extending both the self-affine limit sets of Lalley and Gatzouras as well as the infinite iterated function systems of Mauldin and Urbański. Natural examples include the sets of points in the plane obtained by taking the binary expansion along the vertical and the continued fraction expansion along the horizontal and deleting certain pairs of digits. We prove that the Hausdorff dimension of the limit set is equal to the supremum of the dimensions of compactly supported ergodic measures, which are given by a Ledrappier and Young type formula. In addition we consider the multifractal analysis of Birkhoff averages for countable families of potentials. We obtain a conditional variational principle for the level sets.  相似文献

Each directed graph with asymmetric costs defined over its arcs can be represented by a matrix or table, called an expansion table. We explore first the basic properties of cycles and spanning tables of expansion tables, which correspond to the cycles and spanning trees of the directed graph. Then, we derive an algorithm to find a minimum spanning table which corresponds to a minimum spanning tree in the directed graph. Finally, we discuss how to use the algorithm to find the optimal competence set expansion and also discuss related problems.  相似文献

This paper contributes to the theory of differential games. A game problem of bringing a conflict-controlled system to a compact target set is analyzed. Sets in the position space that terminate on the target set and are not stable bridges are considered. The notion of stability defect of these sets is examined. It is demonstrated how the notion of stability defect can be used to construct sets with relatively good geometry that are at the same time convenient for the first player to play the game successfully.  相似文献

We consider the problem of constructing resolving sets for a differential game or an optimal control problem based on information on the dynamics of the system, control resources, and boundary conditions. The construction of largest possible sets with such properties (the maximal stable bridge in a differential game or the controllability set in a control problem) is a nontrivial problem due to their complicated geometry; in particular, the boundaries may be nonconvex and nonsmooth. In practical engineering tasks, which permit some tolerance and deviations, it is often admissible to construct a resolving set that is not maximal. The constructed set may possess certain characteristics that would make the formation of control actions easier. For example, the set may have convex sections or a smooth boundary. In this context, we study the property of stability (weak invariance) for one class of sets in the space of positions of a differential game. Using the notion of stability defect of a set introduced by V.N. Ushakov, we derive a criterion of weak invariance with respect to a conflict control dynamic system for cylindrical sets. In a particular case of a linear control system, we obtain easily verified sufficient conditions of weak invariance for cylindrical sets with ellipsoidal sections. The proof of the conditions is based on constructions and facts of subdifferential calculation. An illustrating example is given.  相似文献

A multicriteria identification and prediction method for mathematical models of simulation type in the case of several identification criteria (error functions) is proposed. The necessity of the multicriteria formulation arises, for example, when one needs to take into account errors of completely different origins (not reducible to a single characteristic) or when there is no information on the class of noise in the data to be analyzed. An identification sets method is described based on the approximation and visualization of the multidimensional graph of the identification error function and sets of suboptimal parameters. This method allows for additional advantages of the multicriteria approach, namely, the construction and visual analysis of the frontier and the effective identification set (frontier and the Pareto set for identification criteria), various representations of the sets of Pareto effective and subeffective parameter combinations, and the corresponding predictive trajectory tubes. The approximation is based on the deep holes method, which yields metric ε-coverings with nearly optimal properties, and on multiphase approximation methods for the Edgeworth–Pareto hull. The visualization relies on the approach of interactive decision maps. With the use of the multicriteria method, multiple-choice solutions of identification and prediction problems can be produced and justified by analyzing the stability of the optimal solution not only with respect to the parameters (robustness with respect to data) but also with respect to the chosen set of identification criteria (robustness with respect to the given collection of functionals).  相似文献
