We study the dynamics of ordering in ferromagnets via Monte Carlo simulations of theIsing model, employing the Glauber spin-flip mechanism, in space dimensionsd = 2 and3, on square and simplecubic lattices. Results for the persistence probability and the domain growth arediscussed for quenches to various temperatures (T f ) below the criticalone (T c ), from differentinitial temperatures T i T c . In long timelimit, for T i >T c ,the persistence probability exhibits power-law decay with exponents θ ? 0.22 and? 0.18 in d = 2 and 3, respectively. For finite T i , the early timebehavior is a different power-law whose life-time diverges and exponent decreases asT i T c . The two steps areconnected via power-law as a function of domain length and the crossover to the secondstep occurs when this characteristic length exceeds the equilibrium correlation length atT =T i . T i =T c is expected toprovide a new universality class for which we obtain θθ c ? 0.035 ind = 2 and?0.105 in d = 3. The time dependenceof the average domain size ?, however, is observed to be rather insensitive tothe choice of T i .  相似文献

The thermal conductivity of a trapped dipolar Bose condensed gas is calculated as a function of temperature in the framework of linear response theory. The contributions of the interactions between condensed and noncondensed atoms and between noncondensed atoms in the presence of both contact and dipole-dipole interactions are taken into account to the thermal relaxation time, by evaluating the self-energies of the system in the Beliaev approximation. We will show that above the Bose-Einstein condensation temperature (T?>?T BEC ) in the absence of dipole-dipole interaction, the temperature dependence of the thermal conductivity reduces to that of an ideal Bose gas. In a trapped Bose-condensed gas for temperature interval k B T?<<?n 0 g B E p ?<<?k B T (n 0 is the condensed density and g B is the strength of the contact interaction), the relaxation rates due to dipolar and contact interactions between condensed and noncondensed atoms change as \( {\tau}_{dd12}^{-1}\propto {e}^{-E/{k}_BT} \) and τ c12?∝?T ?5, respectively, and the contact interaction plays the dominant role in the temperature dependence of the thermal conductivity, which leads to the T ?3 behavior of the thermal conductivity. In the low-temperature limit, k B T?<<?n 0 g B , E p ?>>?k B T, since the relaxation rate \( {\tau}_{c12}^{-1} \) is independent of temperature and the relaxation rate due to dipolar interaction goes to zero exponentially, the T 2 temperature behavior for the thermal conductivity comes from the thermal mean velocity of the particles. We will also show that in the high-temperature limit (k B T?>?n 0 g B ) and low momenta, the relaxation rates \( {\tau}_{c12}^{-1} \) and \( {\tau}_{dd12}^{-1} \) change linearly with temperature for both dipolar and contact interactions and the thermal conductivity scales linearly with temperature.  相似文献

A system of particles with spin in a magnetic field may possess an orbital temperatureT o different from the spin temperatureT s (?0), if it is possible to neglect the energetic interaction between the orbital and the spin system. The calculation of the quantum statistical most probable distribution of identical independent particles on the orbital and spin energy levels yields the introduction of three Lagrange multipliers—according to the fact that the orbital and the spin energy and the number of particles are fixed—representing the orbital and spin temperature and a generalizedPlanck's “characteristic function”. Apart from the Boltzmann-approximation being valid in the case of small spin values forT o ?T e (T e =customary degeneration temperature) and arbitraryT s ?0, the distributions and the orbital and the spin energy depend onboth the temperaturesT o andT s coming from the principle of exclusion forFermi resp.Bose particles. The equations of state are discussed. There are four heat capacities, which possess characteristic peaks. In stead of the well-known temperature independence of the paramagnetism of degenerated conducting electrons one obtains χ~T o /T s . The behaviour of the Einstein-condensation of aBose gas is considered.  相似文献

For a 2D electron system in silicon, the temperature dependence of the Hall resistance ρxy(T) is measured in a weak magnetic field in the range of temperatures (1–35 K) and carrier concentrations n where the diagonal resistance component exhibits a metallic-type behavior. The temperature dependences ρxy(T) obtained for different n values are nonmonotonic and have a maximum at Tmax ~ 0.16TF. At lower temperatures T < Tmax, the change δρxy(T) in the Hall resistance noticeably exceeds the interaction quantum correction and qualitatively agrees with the semiclassical model, where only the broadening of the Fermi distribution is taken into account. At higher temperatures T > Tmax, the dependence ρxy(T) can be qualitatively explained by both the temperature dependence of the scattering time and the thermal activation of carriers from the band of localized states.  相似文献

A square lattice of microcontacts with a period of 1 μm in a dense low-mobility two-dimensional electron gas is studied experimentally and numerically. At the variation of the gate voltage V g , the conductivity of the array varies by five orders of magnitude in the temperature range T from 1.4 to 77 K in good agreement with the formula σ(V g ) = (V g ?V g * (T))β with β = 4. The saturation of σ(T) at low temperatures is absent because of the electron–electron interaction. A random-lattice model with a phenomenological potential in microcontacts reproduces the dependence σ(T, V g ) and makes it possible to determine the fraction of microcontacts x(V g , T) with conductances higher than σ. It is found that the dependence x(V g ) is nonlinear and the critical exponent in the formula σ ∝ ? (x - 1/2) t in the range 1.3 < t(T, V g ) < β.  相似文献

The spins of Ru5+ ions in Sr2YRuO6 form a face-centered cubic lattice with antiferromagnetic nearest neighbor interaction J≈25 meV. The antiferromagnetic structure of the first type experimentally observed below the Néel temperature T N =26 K corresponds to four frustrated spins of 12 nearest neighbors. In the Heisenberg model in the spin-wave approximation, the frustrations already cause instability of the antiferromagnetic state at T=0 K. This state is stabilized by weak anisotropy D or exchange interaction I with the next-nearest neighbors. Low D/JI/J~10?3 values correspond to the experimental T N and sublattice magnetic moment values.  相似文献

The behavior in a magnetic field of a highly correlated electron liquid approaching the fermion condensation quantum phase transition from the disordered phase is considered. We show that, at sufficiently high temperatures TT*(x), the effective mass starts to depend on T, M* ∝T?1/2. This T?1/2 dependence of the effective mass at elevated temperatures leads to the non-Fermi liquid behavior of the resistivity, σ(T) ∝ T and at higher temperatures σ(T) ∝ T3/2. The application of a magnetic field B restores the common T2 behavior of the resistivity. The effective mass depends on the magnetic field, M*(B) ∝ B?2/3, being approximately independent of the temperature at T≤T*(B) ∝ B4/3. At TT*(B), the T?1/2 dependence of the effective mass is reestablished. We demonstrate that this B-T phase diagram has a strong impact on the magnetoresistance (MR) of the highly correlated electron liquid. The MR as a function of the temperature exhibits a transition from negative values of MR at T→0 to positive values at TB4/3. Thus, at TT*(B), MR as a function of the temperature possesses a node at TB4/3.  相似文献

It is proposed to extract the total cross section for proton-proton (pp) interaction from the results obtained by measuring the analyzing power for elastic pp scattering in the region of Coulomb-nuclear interference. Contributions to the cross section are estimated that affect the accuracy in determining σ T (pp) and which originate from various sources, including single-spin-flip interactions. The applicability of the factor of merit to extracting σ T (pp) from experimental data is briefly discussed. It is concluded that, under some conditions, measurement of the analyzing power A N (t) may be a good approach to determining σ T (pp).  相似文献

The effect of ion irradiation on the superconducting transition temperatureT c and resistivityρ ab (T) of YBa2Cu3O7-x films with different oxygen content (initial temperatureT c0≈90 K and 60 K) is studied experimentally. The dependenciesT c /T c0 on residual resistivityρ o are obtained in very wide range 0.2<T c /T c0 <1 andρ o μΩ·cm. The critical values ofρ o , corresponding to the vanishing of superconductivity, are found to be an order of magnitude larger then those predicted by theory ford-wave pairing. At 0.5÷0.6<T c /T c0<1 the experimental data are in close agreement with theoretical dependencies, obtained for the anisotropics-wave superconductor within the BCS-framework.  相似文献

The Schiff moment of the 199Hg nucleus is calculated using finite range P-and T-violating weak nucleon-nucleon interaction. Both the contributions of the P-and T-odd interaction and of internal nucleon electric dipole moments to the Schiff moment of 199Hg are calculated. The contribution of the proton electric dipole moment is obtained via core-polarization effects treated in the framework of RPA with effective residual interactions. We derive a new upper bound |d p |<5.4×10?24e cm for the proton electric dipole moment.  相似文献

A unified mechanism of the emergence of T-odd ROT- and TRI-asymmetries is proposed for describing experimental T-odd asymmetry coefficients D(θ) in the angular distributions of prescission alphaparticles that are emitted in true ternary and quaternary nuclear fission reactions induced by cold polarized neutrons. The mechanism is related to the different ways in which the Coriolis interaction of the total spin of a polarized compound fissile nucleus with the orbital moment of alpha-particles affects even (for ROT-asymmetries) and odd (for TRI-asymmetries) components of the amplitude of an undisturbed angular distribution of emitted alpha-particles. Coefficients DROT(θ) and DTRI(θ) derived with this mechanism for T-odd ROT- and TRI-asymmetries successfully describe the dependences of corresponding experimental coefficients for 235U and 239Pu nuclei over the range of angles θ, and for the 233U nucleus in the angular range of 60° < θ < 110°. It is explained why only ROT-type T-odd asymmetries emerge for evaporated neutrons and γ-quanta emitted by fission fragments in similar reactions if we allows for the Coriolis interaction of the total spin of the compound fissile nucleus with the orbital moments of the fission fragments and the wriggling vibrations of the above nucleus near its scission point.  相似文献

The first (Born) approximation commonly used to calculate the diffusion coefficient DT of a passive scalar in acoustic turbulence is shown to be insufficient. Even for a small main parameter—the Mach number, M?1—the next approximation gives a larger contribution to DT than does the first approximation, but negative in sign. We present a procedure for correctly calculating DT based on the solution of a nonlinear DIA (direct interaction approximation) equation for the mean Green’s function of the problem. We include an additional term in the general formula for DT that directly describes the compressibility of acoustic turbulence. This term has not been known previously and has been disregarded even in the Born approximation. A positive value was obtained for DT=CM3u0/p0. The spectrum E(x) was assumed to be smooth at distances Δ xM2?1.  相似文献

We discuss the finite-temperature generalization of time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT). The theory is directly analogous to that at temperature T = 0. For example, the finite-T TDDFT exchange-correlation kernel fxc(T, n) in the local density approximation can again be expressed as a density derivative of the exchange correlation potential fxc(T, n) = [?vxc(T, n)∕?n]δ(r ? r), where n = NV is the electron number density. An approximation for the kernel fxc(T, n) is obtained from the finite-T generalization of the retarded cumulant expansion applied to the homogeneous electron gas. Results for fxc and the loss function are presented for a wide range of temperatures and densities including the warm dense matter regime, where TTF, the electron degeneracy temperature. The theory also permits a physical interpretation of the exchange and correlation contributions to the theory.  相似文献

We study the impact of a time-dependent external driving of the lattice phonons in a minimal model of a BCS superconductor. Upon evaluating the driving-induced vertex corrections of the phonon-mediated electron-electron interaction, we show that parametric phonon driving can be used to elevate the critical temperature Tc, while a dipolar phonon drive has no effect. We provide simple analytic expressions for the enhancement factor of Tc. Furthermore, a mean-field analysis of a nonlinear phonon-phonon interaction also shows that phonon anharmonicities further amplify Tc. Our results hold universally for the large class of normal BCS superconductors.  相似文献

The thermopower, S, magnetothermopower, ΔS/S, resistivity, ρ, and magnetoresistivity, Δρ/ρ, depending on the temperature T and magnetic field H, have been studied in an Nd0.5Sr0.5MnO3 single crystal consisting of three types of clusters: an antiferromagnetic CE-type with charge-orbital ordering (below the Neel temperature TNCE ~ 145 K) and an A-type with TNA ~ 220 K; a ferromagnetic at 234 ≤ T ≤ 252 K, and a ferromagnetic metal phase below the Curie temperature TC = 248 K. The thermopower was found to be negative, indicating the dominance of the electronic type of conductivity. In the S(T) curves, a sharp minimum is observed in the temperature range of 100 K ≤ T ≤ 133 K, close to TNCE, where the absolute S value attains 53 μV/K. With a further increase in temperature, the absolute S value decreases rapidly; at 200 K it is equal to 7 μV/K. It then slightly increases, reaching its maximum value of 15 μV/K at a temperature of 254 K, which is close to TC. The absolute thermopower decreased under the influence of the magnetic field; i.e., a negative magnetothermopower occurs. In {ΔS/S}(T) curves, a sharp minimum is observed at T = 130 K close to TNCE, where the magnetothermopower reaches a huge value of ~45% at H = 13.23 kOe. A broad minimum in the {ΔS/S}(T) curves is observed near the Curie temperature and its value is also high, viz., ~15% in the maximum measuring magnetic field of 13.23 kOe. The extremely high magnetothermopower values mean that the charge-orbital ordered nanoclusters or ferron type make the main contribution to the thermopower of the entire sample. The behavior of the ρ(T) and {Δρ/ρ}(T) curves is similar to that of the S(T) and {ΔS/S}(T) dependencies, which is in agreement with this conclusion.  相似文献

The static magnetic susceptibility (χ) of own-made HCl-doped polyaniline pellets is investigated experimentally over the full range of the protonation level Y and in the temperature (T) range 10–300 K.The obtained results suggest that χ and the electrical conductivity σ – which is known from previous work – are interrelated.Namely, there is a weakly Y dependent crossover temperature T * where both χ and σ undergo notable changes. In χ, this refers to a simultaneous enhancement (reduction) of the Pauli-type susceptibility χ P and reduction (enhancement) of the Curie constant C at T = T * when T increases (decreases).Below T < T *, where thermal effects are weak to moderate, a steep increase of χ P(Y) around Y = 0.3 occurs together with a drop of C(Y).The above findings are consistent with a picture in which, at T *, spins that disappear from C reappear in χ P, and vice versa. This model is used to address the longitudinal and transversal electron localisation lengths as functions of Y, the former being estimated to take values in the range 7–8 Åand the latter in the range 1–2 Å.  相似文献

In the absence of phonon thermal conductivity, we theoretically investigate the output power of an interacting quantum dot thermoelectric setup that is moderately coupled to two electronic reservoirs in the regime T ? T K . In the noninteracting case, the output power is maximized when the energy level of the dot is around a critical value ε c . We find that when the energy level of the dot is lower than ε c , Coulomb interaction can enhance the maximum thermoelectric power that can be achieved by tuning the bias and a wider operating region is also observed. However, when the energy level of the dot is higher than ε c , Coulomb interaction suppresses the maximum power. Finally when the dot level is around ε c , Coulomb interaction has minimal effects on the maximum power.  相似文献

The temperature dependences of the specific heat C(T) and thermal conductivity K(T) of MgB2 were measured at low temperatures and in the neighborhood of T c . In addition to the well-known superconducting transition at T c ≈40 K, this compound was found to exhibit anomalous behavior of both the specific heat and thermal conductivity at lower temperatures, T≈10–12 K. Note that the anomalous behavior of C(T) and K(T) is observed in the same temperature region where MgB2 was found to undergo negative thermal expansion. All the observed low-temperature anomalies are assigned to the existence in MgB2 of a second group of carriers and its transition to the superconducting state at Tc2≈10?12 K.  相似文献

The unit cell parameters a, b, and c of [N(CH3)4]2ZnCl4 have been measured by x-ray diffraction in the temperature range 80–293 K. Temperature dependences of the thermal expansion coefficients αa, αb, and αc along the principal crystallographic axes and of the unit cell thermal expansion coefficient αV were determined. It is shown that the a=f(T), b=f(T), and c=f(T) curves exhibit anomalies in the form of jumps at phase transition temperatures T1=161 K and T2=181 K and that the phase transition occurring at T3=276 K manifests itself in the a=f(T) and b=f(T) curves as a break. A slight anisotropy in the coefficient of thermal expansion of the crystal was revealed. The phase transitions occurring at T1=161 K and T2=181 K in [N(CH3)4]2ZnCl4 were established to be first-order.  相似文献

The Efros-Shklovskii (E-S) law for the conductivity of granular metals is interpreted as a result of a variable-range cotunneling process. The cotunneling between distant resonant grains is predominantly elastic at low TT c , while it is inelastic (i.e., accompanied by creation of electron-hole pairs on a string of intermediate non-resonant grains) at TT c . The corresponding E-S temperature T ES , in the latter case, is slightly (logarithmically) T dependent. The magnetoresistance in the two cases is different: it may be relatively strong and negative at T?T c , while, at T > T c , it is suppressed due to inelastic processes, which destroy the interference.  相似文献
