In this paper, we introduce the notion of a Minkowski Lie algebra, which is the natural generalization of the notion of a real quadratic Lie algebra (metric Lie algebra). We then study the positive definite Minkowski Lie algebras and obtain a complete classification of the simple ones. Finally, we present some applications of our results to Finsler geometry and give a classification of bi-invariant Finsler metrics on Lie groups. In this article, we generalize partially the theorem of V. N. Berestovskii on characterization of similarity homogeneous (nonhomogeneous) Riemannian manifolds, i.e., Riemannian manifolds admitting transitive group of metric similarities other than motions to the case of locally compact similarity homogeneous (nonhomogeneous) spaces with intrinsic metric satisfying the additional assumption that the canonically conformally equivalent homogeneous space is δ-homogeneous or a space of curvature bounded below in the sense of A. D. Aleksandrov. Under the same assumptions, we prove the conjecture of V. N. Berestovskii on topological structure of such spaces.  相似文献

By introducing the notion of single colored Finsler manifold, we deduce the curvature formulas of a homogeneous Finsler space. It results in a set of fundamental equations that are more elegant than the Riemannian case. Several applications of the equations are also supplied.  相似文献

For a closed cocompact subgroup Γ of a locally compact group G, given a compact abelian subgroup K of G and a homomorphism satisfying certain conditions, Landstad and Raeburn constructed equivariant noncommutative deformations of the homogeneous space G/Γ, generalizing Rieffel's construction of quantum Heisenberg manifolds. We show that when G is a Lie group and G/Γ is connected, given any norm on the Lie algebra of G, the seminorm on induced by the derivation map of the canonical G-action defines a compact quantum metric. Furthermore, it is shown that this compact quantum metric space depends on ρ continuously, with respect to quantum Gromov-Hausdorff distances.  相似文献

We study invariant metric f-structures on naturally reductive homogeneous spaces and establish their relation to generalized Hermitian geometry. We prove a series of criteria characterizing geometric and algebraic properties of important classes of metric f-structures: nearly Kähler, Hermitian, Kähler, and Killing structures. It is shown that canonical f-structures on homogeneous Φ-spaces of order k (homogeneous k-symmetric spaces) play remarkable part in this line of investigation. In particular, we present the final results concerning canonical f-structures on naturally reductive homogeneous Φ-spaces of order 4 and 5.  相似文献

The geometric characterization and structure of Finsler manifolds with constant flag curvature (CFC) are studied. It is proved that a Finsler space has constant flag curvature 1 (resp. 0) if and only if the Ricci curvature along the Hilbert form on the projective sphere bundle attains identically its maximum (resp. Ricci scalar). The horizontal distributionH of this bundle is integrable if and only ifM has zero flag curvature. When a Finsler space has CFC, Hilbert form’s orthogonal complement in the horizontal distribution is also integrable. It is proved that if a Lie algebra of compact operators contains a nonzero ideal consisting of quasinilpotent operators then this Lie algebra has a nontrivial invariant subspace. Some applications of this result to lattices of invariant subspaces for families of compact operators and to structures of ideals of Banach Lie algebras with compact adjoint action are given.  相似文献

Hardy spaces on homogeneous groups were introduced and studied by Folland and Stein [3]. The purpose of this note is to show that duals of Hardy spaces Hp , 0 < p ≤ 1, on homogeneous groups can be identified with Morrey–Campanato spaces. In this paper, the author establishes the embedding theorems for different metrics of inhomoge-neous Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces on spaces of homogeneous type. As an application, the author obtains some estimates for the entropy numbers of the embeddings in the limiting cases between some Besov spaces and some logarithmic Lebesgue spaces.  相似文献

A new construction of decomposition smoothness spaces of homogeneous type is considered. The smoothness spaces are based on structured and flexible decompositions of the frequency space R d ? { 0 } . We construct simple adapted tight frames for L 2 ( R d ) that can be used to fully characterise the smoothness norm in terms of a sparseness condition imposed on the frame coefficients. Moreover, it is proved that the frames provide a universal decomposition of tempered distributions with convergence in the tempered distributions modulo polynomials. As an application of the general theory, the notion of homogeneous α‐modulation spaces is introduced.  相似文献

For each simply connected three‐dimensional Lie group we determine the automorphism group, classify the left invariant Riemannian metrics up to automorphism, and study the extent to which curvature can be altered by a change of metric. Thereby we obtain the principal Ricci curvatures, the scalar curvature and the sectional curvatures as functions of left invariant metrics on the three‐dimensional Lie groups. We study the geodesic equation for compact Lie groups G and homogeneous spaces G / H $G/H$ , and we prove that the geodesics are orbits of products exp ( t X 1 ) exp ( t X N ) $\exp (tX_1)\cdots \exp (tX_N)$ of one-parameter subgroups of G, provided that a simple algebraic condition for the Riemannian metric is satisfied. For the group S O ( 3 ) $SO(3)$ , we relate this type of geodesics to the free motion of a symmetric top. Moreover, by using series of Lie subgroups of G, we construct a wealth of metrics having the aforementioned type of geodesics.  相似文献

We establish the boundedness and continuity of parametric Marcinkiewicz integrals associated to homogeneous compound mappings on Triebel-Lizorkin spaces and Besov spaces. Here the integral kernels are provided with some rather weak size conditions on the unit sphere and in the radial direction. Let 0<γ<1, b be a BMO function and the commutator of order m for the fractional integral. We prove two type of weighted Lp inequalities for in the context of the spaces of homogeneous type. The first one establishes that, for A weights, the operator is bounded in the weighted Lp norm by the maximal operator Mγ(Mm), where Mγ is the fractional maximal operator and Mm is the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator iterated m times. The second inequality is a consequence of the first one and shows that the operator is bounded from to , where [(m+1)p] is the integer part of (m+1)p and no condition on the weight w is required. From the first inequality we also obtain weighted Lp-Lq estimates for generalizing the classical results of Muckenhoupt and Wheeden for the fractional integral operator.  相似文献
