The one-loop quantum corrections to the soliton mass are found to vanish for a large class of two-dimensional supersymmetric models and the three-dimensional supersymmetric CPn model. This was achieved by quantizing in a box with supersymmetric boundary conditions.  相似文献

Some aspects of supersymmetric gauge theories and discussed. It is shown that dynamical supersymmetry breaking does not occur in supersymmetric QED in higher dimensions. The cancellation of both local (perturbative) and global (non-perturbative) gauge anomalies are also discussed in supersymmetric gauge theories. We argue that there is no dynamical supersymmetry breaking in higher dimensions in any supersymmetric gauge theories free of gauge anomalies. It is also shown that for supersymmetric gauge theories in higher dimensions with a compact connected simple gauge group, when the local anomaly-free condition is satisfied, there can be at most a possibleZ 2 global gauge anomaly in extended supersymmetricSO(10) (or spin (10)) gauge theories inD=10 dimensions containing additional Weyl fermions in a spinor representation ofSO(10) (or spin (10)). In four dimensions with local anomaly-free condition satisfied, the only possible global gauge anomalies in supersymmetric gauge theories areZ 2 global gauge anomalies for extended supersymmetricSP(2N) (N=rank) gauge theories containing additional Weyl fermions in a representation ofSP(2N) with an odd 2nd-order Dynkin index.  相似文献

We propose a new integrable N = 2 supersymmetric Toda lattice hierarchy which may be relevant for constructing a supersymmetric one-matrix model. We define its first two Hamiltonian structures, the recursion operator and Lax-pair representation. We provide partial evidence for the existence of an infinite-dimensional N = 2 superalgebra of its flows. We study its bosonic limit and introduce new Lax-pair representations for the bosonic Toda lattice hierarchy. Finally we discuss the relevance this approach for constructing N = 2 supersymmetric generalized Toda lattice hierarchies.  相似文献

We formulate a conjecture for the three different Lax operators that describe the bosonic sectors of the three possible N = 2 supersymmetric integrable hierarchies with N = 2 super-Wn second Hamiltonian structure. We check this conjecture in the simplest cases, then we verify it in general in one of the three possible supersymmetric extensions. To this end we construct the N = 2 supersymmetric extensions of the Generalized Non-Linear Schrödinger hierarchy by exhibiting the corresponding super Lax operator. To find the correct Hamiltonians we are led to a new definition of super-residues for degenerate N = 2 supersymmetric pseudo-differential operators. We have found a new non-polynomials Miura-like realization for N = 2 superconformal algebra in terms of two bosonic chiral-anti-chiral free superfields.  相似文献

We study two-dimensional integrable N = 1 supersymmetric theories (without topological charges) in the presence of a boundary. We find a universal ratio between the reflection amplitudes for particles that are related by supersymmetry and we propose exact reflection matrices for the supersymmetric extensions of the multi-component Yang-Lee models and for the breather multiplets of the supersymmetric sine-Gordon theory. We point out the connection between our reflection matrices and the classical boundary actions for the supersymmetric sine-Gordon theory as constructed by Inami, Odake and Zhang [Phys. Lett. We construct the simplest solvable non-trivial (S ≠ 1) supersymmetric model: the supersymmetric Ising field theory. The supersymmetric generalization of the duality order/disorder algebra is discussed. Fermionic zero modes around non-abelian vortices are shown that they constitute two N = 2, d = 1 supersymmetric quantum mechanics algebras. These two algebras can be combined under certain circumstances to form a central charge extended N = 4 supersymmetric quantum algebra. We study the supersymmetric N=1 hierarchy connected with the Lax operator of the supersymmetric Sawada-Kotera equation. This operator produces the physical equations as well as the exotic equations with odd time. The odd Bi-Hamiltonian structure for the N=1 supersymmetric Sawada-Kotera equation is defined. The product of the symplectic and implectic Hamiltonian operator gives us the recursion operator. In that way we prove the integrability of the supersymmetric Sawada-Kotera equation in the sense that it has the Bi-Hamiltonian structure. The so-called “quadratic” Hamiltonian operator of even order generates the exotic equations while the “cubic” odd Hamiltonian operator generates the physical equations.  相似文献

We analyze the problem of constructing supersymmetric versions of gauge theories of particles and of gravity which have a closed supersymmetric algebra. Inparticular we present the basic no-go theorems that indicate that in four dimensions it is not possible to construct suitably extended supersymmetric versions of the above theories without drastic modification of the supersymmetric algebra. Two ways past the“N=3” barrier are discussed; that of central charges involved highly constrained versions which appearn difficult to quantize effectively, while the use of light-cone variables seems to be the most promising. We give light-cone gauge versions of supersymmetric Yang-Mills theories for all extended cases of interest and briefly consider their ultraviolet divergence properties.  相似文献

A new Lax operator is proposed from the viewpoint of constructing the integrable hierarchies related with the N = 2 super Wn algebra. It is shown that the Poisson algebra associated to the second Hamiltonian structure for the resulting hierarchy contains the N = 2 super Virasoro algebra as a proper subalgebra. The simplest cases are discussed in detail. In particular, it is proved that the supersymmetric two-boson hierarchy is one of the N = 2 supersymmetric KdV hierarchies. Also, a Lax operator is supplied for one of the N = 2 supersymmetric Boussinesq hierarchies.  相似文献

We provide the solutions of the fixed point conditions of the Yukawa sector for a large class of N = 1 supersymmetric theories including the minimal and next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard models and their grand unified and other extensions. We also introduce a test which can discriminate between infra-red stable, infra-red unstable and saddle point solutions, and illustrate our methods with the example of the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model. We show that in this case, the fixed point prediction of the top quark mass is equivalent to that of the minimal supersymmetric standard model, supporting previous numerical analyses.  相似文献

We review the current state of research on the construction of effective actions in supersymmetric quantum field theory. Special attention is paid to gauge models with extended supersymmetry in the superfield approach. The advantages of formulation of such models in harmonic superspace for the calculation of effective action are emphasized. Manifestly supersymmetric and manifestly gauge-invariant methods for constructing the low-energy effective actions and deriving the corrections to them are considered and the possibilities to obtain the exact solutions are discussed. The calculations of one-loop effective actions in N = 2 supersymmetric Yang–Mills theory with hypermultiplets and in N = 4 supersymmetric Yang–Mills theory are analyzed in detail. The relationship between the effective action in supersymmetric quantum field theory and the low-energy limit in superstring theory is discussed.  相似文献

The superspace constraints corresponding to the two inequivalent versions of the 40 + 40 off-shell Weyl multiplet in six dimensions are given. A supersymmetric R2-action (including quartic fermion terms) for one of the two Weyl multiplets is constructed. A crucial role in this construction is played by the observation that there exists a formal relationship between the Weyl and Yang-Mills multiplets. Both the supersymmetric R2-action and the supersymmetric Yang-Mills F2-action coupled to the Weyl multiplet are reformulated as superspace actions.  相似文献

We study a series of N = 1 supersymmetric integrable particle theories in d = 1 + 1 dimensions. These theories are represented as integrable perturbations of specific N = 1 superconformal field theories. Starting from the conjectured S-matrices for these theories, we develop the Thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz (TBA), where we use that the 2-particle S-matrices satisfy a free fermion condition. Our analysis proves a conjecture by E. Melzer, who proposed that these N = 1 supersymmetric. TBA systems are “folded” versions of N = 2 supersymmetric TBA systems that were first studied by P.
