This research concerned the synthesis and characterization of novel conetworks containing polyisobutylene (PIB) and polyethyl‐2‐cyanoacrylate [poly(Et‐CA)] sequences. The syntheses involved the copolymerization of CA‐telechelic three‐arm star PIB [Ø(PIB‐CA)3] with ethyl‐2‐cyanoacrylate (Et‐CA) mediated by nucleophiles or by living tissue (fresh eggs). The conetworks were characterized by swelling in hexanes, tetrahydrofuran (THF), and acetone, and the results indicate co‐continuous PIB and poly(Et‐CA) domains. The conetworks exhibit two Tgs indicating phase‐separation between PIB and poly(Et‐CA). The outstanding oxidative resistance of the conetworks was demonstrated by exposure to concentrated nitric acid. The tensile strengths, moduli, and elongations of a series of conetworks with different overall compositions were investigated and the findings interpreted in terms of covalently linked rubbery and glassy domains. AFM also suggests the presence of phase‐separated rubbery and glassy domains. DMTA spectra of a Ø(PIB‐CA)3 homonetwork, and Ø(PIB‐CA)3/Et‐CA conetworks were analyzed and interpreted in terms of coexisting rubbery and glassy domains. Observations made during the exposure of Ø(PIB‐CA)3/Et‐CA mixtures to proteinaceous tissue, in combination with characterization data, were used to propose a structural model for the conetworks. Novel networks and conetworks were prepared by the instantaneous polymerization of cyanoacrylate‐telechelic three‐arm star polyisobutylene [Ø(PIB‐CA)3] and the copolymerization of Ø(PIB‐CA)3/2,4,4‐trimethylpentane cyanoacrylate (TMP‐CA) mixtures, respectively, by means of strong nucleophiles, such as NEt2‐telechleic linear or three‐arm star PIBs [Ø(PIB‐NEt2)2 or 3]. The reactants were combined in the bulk in double‐barrel syringes by reaction injection molding (RIM). The chemical and mechanical properties of products prepared in the bulk and by conventional solution techniques were characterized by various techniques (swelling, extractables, FTIR and NMR spectroscopies, Instron, microhardness, oxidative resistance, DSC, DMTA). Conditions for the preparation of rubbery materials for possible biomedical applications were developed. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 46: 2612–2623, 2008  相似文献

This series of papers concern new materials for possible biological applications created by combining the chemistry of highly reactive cyanoacrylates (CAs) with polyisobutylene (PIB) rubbers. First, a new strategy for the synthesis of CA–telechelic PIBs is described. Subsequently, the strategy is employed for the synthesis of low viscosity (syringible) CA–telechelic three‐arm star PIB [Ø(PIB–CA)3]. The intermediates of the synthesis route are characterized by 1H NMR spectroscopy. Injecting liquid Ø(PIB–CA)3 into living tissue (fresh chicken egg) produces a bolus of crosslinked PIB rubber. The spectacular oxidative resistance of this rubber is documented by its resistance to concentrated HNO3. A structural model of the crosslinked rubber obtained upon contacting Ø(PIB–CA)3 with proteinaceous tissue is proposed. Copyright © 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The polymerization of 2‐octyl cyanoacrylate (OctCA) initiated by five N‐bases [N,N‐dimethyl‐p‐toluidine (DMT), pyridine (Pyr), triethyl amine (Et3N), azobicyclo[2.2.2]octane (ABCO), and diazobicylo[2.2.2]octane (DABCO)] was investigated. Our main objective was to assess the suitability and relative reactivity of these initiators for neat OctCA polymerization as wound closure adhesives. Methodologies were developed to determine stir‐stop and set times of OctCA polymerization and to use these quantities to assess initiation reactivity. According to these studies Et3N, ABCO, DABCO, and Pyr are most reactive initiators, while DMT is much less reactive. Polymerizations were much faster in the presence of small amounts of tetrahydrofuran than toluene, indicating solvent polarity effects. Initiator reactivity is discussed in terms of structural parameters. NMR and MALDI‐TOF analyses of low molecular weight P(OctCA) prepared with DMT did not show evidence for the expected aromatic head group proposed by earlier investigators, which suggests complex initiation mechanism. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Amphiphilic polymer networks consisting of hydrophilic poly(2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (PHEMA) and hydrophobic polyisobutylene (PIB) chains were synthesized from a cationic copolymer of isobutylene (IB) and 3‐isopropenyl‐α,α‐dimethylbenzyl isocyanate (IDI) prepared at ?50 °C in dichloromethane in conjunction with SnCl4. The isocyanate groups of this random copolymer, PIB(NCO)n, were subsequently transformed in situ to methacrylate (MA) groups in the dibutyltin dilaurate‐catalyzed reaction with 2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) at 30 °C. The resulting PIB(MA)n with number–average molecular weight 8200 and average functionality Fn ~ 4 per chain was in situ copolymerized radically with HEMA at 70 °C, giving rise to the amphiphilic networks containing 41 and 67 mol % HEMA. PHEMA–PIB network containing 43 mol % HEMA was also prepared by radical copolymerization of PIB(MA)n precursor with HEMA using sequential synthesis. An amphiphilic nature of the resulting networks was proved by swelling in both water and n‐heptane. PIB(NCO)n and PIB(MA)n were characterized by FTIR spectroscopy, SEC and the latter also by 1H NMR spectroscopy. Solid state 13C NMR spectroscopy was used for characterization of the resulting PHEMA–PIB networks. Whereas single glass‐transition temperature, Tg = ?67.4 °C, was observed for the rubbery crosslinked PIB prepared by reaction of PIB(NCO)n with water, the PHEMA–PIB networks containing 67 and 41 mol % HEMA showed two Tg's: ?70.4 and 102.7 °C, and ?63 and 107.2 °C, respectively. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Polyisobutylene (PIB)‐based polyurethanes (PUs) exhibit unparalleled hydrolytic‐oxidative‐biologic stability and are melt processible, however, their mechanical (strength) properties are modest mainly due to insufficient H bonds. We posited and demonstrate that the ultimate properties of PIB‐PUs are enhanced, while their melt processibility is maintained, by the judicious introduction of urea linkages, i.e., strong bifurcated H bonds, in the chain. The incorporation of bifurcated H bonds in PIB‐PUs was achieved by using the conventional butane diol chain extender (CE) in combination with controlled amounts of amino alcohol as co‐chain extender (co‐CE). Polyurethanes containing both urethane and urea linkages are polyurethane‐ureas (PUU). Specifically, PIB‐PUUs prepared with PIB‐diol/MDI together with 80/20 mole % butane diol/amino butanol exhibited ~30 MPa tensile strength, ~550% elongation, ~80 Shore A hardness, and ~137 °C flow temperature. Other amino alcohols, i.e., amino ethanol, ‐propanol, and ‐hexanol, were less effective co‐CEs. 1H‐NMR and FT‐IR spectroscopies indicate the presence of bifurcated H bonds in PIB‐PUUs prepared with CE/co‐CE combinations. Characterization by differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, dynamic mechanical thermal analysis, and creep experiments also suggest bifurcated H bonds in PIB‐PUU. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of novel block anionomers consisting of polyisobutylene (PIB) and poly(methacrylic acid) (PMAA) segments were prepared and characterized. The specific targets were various molecular weight diblocks (PIB‐b‐PMAA?), triblocks (PMAA?b‐PIB‐b‐PMAA?), and three‐arm star blocks [Φ(PIB‐b‐PMAA?)3] consisting of rubbery PIB blocks with a number‐average degree of polymerization of 50–1000 (number‐average molecular weight = 3000–54,000 g/mol) connected to blocks of PMAA? anions with a number‐average degree of polymerization of 5–20. The overall strategy for the synthesis of these constructs consisted of four steps: (1) synthesis by living cationic polymerization of t‐chloro‐monotelechelic, t‐chloro‐ditelechelic, and t‐chloro‐tritelechelic PIBs; (2) site transformation to obtain PIBs fitted with termini capable of mediating the atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) of tert‐butyl methacrylate (tBMA); (3) ATRP of tBMA, and (4) hydrolysis of poly(tert‐butyl methacrylate) to PMAA?. The architectures created and the synthesis steps employed are summarized. Kinetic and model experiments greatly assisted in the development of convenient synthesis methods. The microarchitectures of the various block anionomers were confirmed by spectroscopy and other techniques. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 40: 3662–3678, 2002  相似文献

We report the synthesis of high‐molecular‐weight linear polyisobutylenes (PIBs) and PIB networks from low‐molecular‐weight PIB by thiol‐ene click chemistry. Thus, liquid allyl‐telechelic PIB was reacted with small di‐ and tri‐thiols, and the thiolated intermediates chain‐extended by UV‐ or thermally induced free radical initiation to linear and crosslinked products. PIB networks were also prepared by crosslinking SH‐telechelic PIB with a small triallyl compound. Linear products were characterized by 1H NMR spectroscopy and GPC, and networks by FTIR spectroscopy, extractables, swelling, and permanent set. The effect of reaction conditions (nature of thiol chain extender, concentration of photo‐ and thermal initiators, UV radiation time, and reagent concentrations) on chain extension and crosslinking was investigated. Under well‐defined conditions high‐molecular‐weight PIBs and tight PIB networks were prepared. Thiol‐ene click chemistry provides novel thiolated PIB derivatives and is a useful strategy for the convenient preparation of high‐molecular‐weight rubbery PIBs and tight PIB networks from low‐molecular‐weight PIB precursors. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We extended our investigations of rubbery wound closure adhesives and created novel flexible networks by crosslinking cyanoacrylated silicone rubbers (i.e., commercial methylhydrosiloxane‐dimethylsiloxane copolymers, PMHS‐co‐PDMS) with N,N‐dimethyl‐p‐toluidine in tetrahydrofuran and hexamethyldisiloxane solvents at room temperature. Cyanoacrylation was achieved by hydrosilating (anthracene‐protected) allyl cyanoacrylate with PMHS‐co‐PDMS. Steric hindrance and the molecular weight of the copolymer strongly affect the extent of hydrosilation. The rate of crosslinking is proportional with the number of cyanoacrylate groups in the copolymer and networks form in seconds with appropriate amounts of initiator. Networks on porcine skin yield well‐adhering flexible optically‐transparent colorless conformal coatings of good “feel” appropriate for clinically useful non‐occlusive “breathable” skin or wound protectors. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The oxidative/hydrolytic stability of polyurethanes (PUs) containing exclusively polyisobutylene (PIB), or mixed PIB/polytetramethylene oxide (PTMO), or mixed PIB/polyhexamethylene carbonate (PC) soft segments was investigated. The tensile strengths and elongations of various PUs were determined before and after agitating in 35% HNO3 or 20% H2O2/0.1 M CoCl2 solutions and retentions were quantified. The presence of PIB imparts significant oxidative/hydrolytic resistance. The tensile strength and elongation of PUs containing 70% PIB, or those of mixed PIB/PC soft segments with 50% PIB, remained essentially unchanged upon exposure to HNO3; in contrast, PUs containing mixed PIB/PTMO soft segments with 50% PIB underwent significant degradation. The tensile strength of PUs with mixed PIB/PC (60/10%) soft segment increased after exposure to HNO3, most likely because of oxidative crosslinking of PC segments. PIB/PTMO‐ and PIB/PC‐based PUs and commercially available PUs (Elast‐Eon® and Carbothane®) were exposed to H2O2/CoCl2 solutions for up to 14 weeks. Although the experimental PIB/PC‐based PUs exhibited negligible change in mechanical properties and no surface damage, Elast‐Eon® and Carbothane® showed significant surface damage. PIB‐based polyureas and Bionate® were implanted in rats for 4 weeks in vivo, and their biocompatibility was investigated. The biocompatibility of PIB‐based materials was superior to Bionate®. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 48: 2194–2203, 2010  相似文献

We describe the synthesis, characterization, and select properties of a novel polyurethane (PU) prepared using a new polyisobutylene diol, HO‐CH2CH2‐S‐PIB‐S‐CH2CH2‐OH, soft segment and conventional hard segments. The diol is synthesized by terminal functionalization of ally‐telechelic PIB followed by low‐cost thiol‐ene click chemistry. Properties of ‐S‐ containing PU (PIBS‐PU) containing 72.5% PIB were investigated and compared to similar PUs made with HO‐PIB‐OH (PIBO‐PU). Hydrolytic resistance was studied by contact with phosphate‐buffered saline, oxidative resistance by immersing in concentrated HNO3, and metal ion oxidation resistance by exposure to CoCl2/H2O2. Hydrolytic and oxidative resistances of PIBS‐PU and PIBO‐PU are similar and superior to a commercial PDMS‐based PU, Elast‐Eon? E2A. According to 1H NMR spectroscopy the ‐S‐ in PIBS‐PUs remained unchanged upon treatment with HNO3, however, oxidized mainly to ‐SO2‐ by CoCl2/H2O2. Static mechanical properties of PIBS‐PU and PIBO‐PU are similar, except creep resistance of PIBS‐PU is surprisingly superior. The thermal stability of PIBS‐PUs is ~15 °C higher than that of PIBO‐PU. FTIR spectroscopy indicates H bonded S atoms (N‐H…S) between soft and hard segments, which noticeably affect properties. DSC and XRD studies suggest random low‐periodicity crystals dispersed within a soft matrix. Energy dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy–scanning electron microscopy indicates homogeneous distribution of S atoms on PIBS‐PU surfaces. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Sci., Part A: Polym. Polyisobutylene‐b‐poly(N,N‐diethylacrylamide) (PIB‐b‐PDEAAm) well‐defined amphiphilic diblock copolymers were synthesized by sequential living carbocationic polymerization and reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization. The hydrophobic polyisobutylene segment was first built by living carbocationic polymerization of isobutylene at ?70 ° C followed by multistep transformations to give a well‐defined (Mw/Mn = 1.22) macromolecular chain transfer agent, PIB‐CTA. The hydrophilic poly(N,N‐diethylacrylamide) block was constructed by PIB‐CTA mediated RAFT polymerization of N,N‐diethylacrylamide at 60 ° C to afford the desired well‐defined PIB‐b‐PDEAAm diblock copolymers with narrow molecular weight distributions (Mw/Mn ≤1.26). Fluorescence spectroscopy, transmission electron microscope, and dynamic light scattering (DLS) were employed to investigate the self‐assembly behavior of PIB‐b‐PDEAAm amphiphilic diblock copolymers in aqueous media. These diblock copolymers also exhibited thermo‐responsive phase behavior, which was confirmed by UV‐Vis and DLS measurements. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Sci., Part A: Polym. Polyisobutylene‐based UV cured networks potentially useful as sealants were synthesized by photopolymerization of well‐defined polyisobutylene methacrylate (PIB‐MA), acrylate (PIB‐A) and vinyl ether (PIB‐VE) di‐ and trifunctional macromonomers. The kinetics of photocrosslinking were measured using an optical pyrometer apparatus and optimized with respect to different experimental parameters. PIB‐MA/A macromonomers displayed enhanced reactivity in radical photopolymerization in the presence of a bis(acylphosphine) oxide photoinitator. PIB‐VE macromonomers exhibited a high rates of photopolymerization with (4‐n‐octyloxyphenyl)phenyliodonium hexafluroantimonate as the photoinitiator. The rates as well as the ultimate monomer conversions were increased by increasing the irradiation light intensity. The inherent induction period associated with oxygen inhibition in the photopolymerization of PIB‐MA was significantly reduced by optimizing the choice of photoinitiator. A detailed investigation of the concentration of MA/A/VE end groups revealed the presence of a prominent saturation effect in the photopolymerization of PIB‐A, which was absent with PIB‐MA and PIB‐VE. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Two structurally closely related three‐arm star blocks were synthesized and characterized: tCum(PIB‐b‐PNBD)3 and tCum(PNBD‐b‐PIB)3 [where tCum (tricumyl) stands for the phenyl‐1,3,5‐tris(‐2‐propyl) fragment and PIB and PNBD are polyisobutylene and polynorbornadiene, respectively]. The syntheses were accomplished in two stages: (1) the preparation of the first (or inner) block fitted with appropriate chlorine termini capable of initiating the polymerization of the second (or outer) block with TiCl4 and (2) the mediation of the polymerization of the second block. Therefore, the synthesis of tCum(PIB‐b‐PNBD)3 was effected with tCum(PIB‐Clt)3 [where Clt is tert‐chlorine and number‐average molecular weight (Mn) = 102,000 g/mol] by the use of TiCl4 and 30/70 CH3Cl/CHCl3 solvent mixtures at ?35 °C. PNBD homopolymer contamination formed by chain transfer was removed by selective precipitation. According to gel permeation chromatography, the Mn's of the star blocks were 107,300–109,200 g/mol. NMR spectroscopy (750 MHz) was used to determine structures and molecular weights. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) indicated two glass‐transition temperatures (Tg's), one each for the PIB (?65 °C) and PNBD (232 °C) phases. Thermogravimetric analysis thermograms showed 5% weight losses at 293 °C in air and at 352 °C in N2. The synthesis of tCum(PNBD‐b‐PIB)3 was achieved by the initiation of isobutylene polymerization with tCum(PNBD‐Clsec)3 (where Clsec is sec‐chlorine and Mn = 2900 g/mol) by the use of TiCl4 in CH3Cl at ?60 °C. DSC for this star block (Mn = 14,200 g/mol) also showed two Tg's, that is, at ?67 and 228 °C for the PIB and PNBD segments, respectively. It is of interest that the Clsec terminus of PNBD, , readily initiated isobutylene polymerization. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 41: 740–751, 2003  相似文献

A new amphiphilic diblock copolymer containing an ionomer segment, poly[(4‐vinylbenzyl triethyl ammonium bromide)‐co‐(4‐methylstyrene)‐co‐(4‐bromomethylstyrene)]‐b‐polyisobutene [poly(4‐VBTEAB)‐b‐PIB], was synthesized by the chemical modification of poly(4‐methylstyrene)‐b‐polyisobutene [poly(4‐MSt)‐b‐PIB]. First, the 4‐methylstyrene moiety in poly(4‐MSt)‐b‐PIB was brominated with azobisisobutyronitrile as an initiator at 60 °C in CCl4, and then the highly reactive benzyl bromide groups were ionized by a reaction with triethylamine in a toluene/isopropyl alcohol (80/20 v/v) mixture at about 85 °C to produce the ionomer diblock copolymer poly(4‐VBTEAB)‐b‐PIB. The solubility of the ionomer block copolymer was quite different from that of the corresponding poly[(4‐methylstyrene)‐co‐(4‐bromomethylstyrene)]‐b‐polyisobutene {poly[(4‐MSt)‐co‐(4‐BrMSt)]‐b‐PIB}. Transmission electron microscopy observations demonstrated that all three diblock copolymers had microphase‐separation structures in which polyisobutene (PIB) domains existed in the continuous phase of the poly(4‐methylstyrene) segment or its derivative segment matrix. Dynamic mechanical thermal analysis measurements showed that poly[(4‐MSt)‐co‐(4‐BrMSt)]‐b‐PIB had two glass‐transition temperatures (Tg's), ?56 °C for the PIB segment and 62 °C for the poly[(4‐MSt)‐co‐(4‐BrMSt)] domain, whereas poly(4‐VBTEAB)‐b‐PIB showed one Tg at ?8 °C of the PIB domain; Tg of the poly[(4‐vinylbenzyl triethyl ammonium bromide)‐co‐(4‐methylstyrene)‐co‐(4‐bromomethylstyrene)] domain was not observable because of the strong ionic interactions resulting in a higher Tg and a retention of modulus up to 124 °C. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The synthesis of novel arborescent (arb; randomly branched, “tree‐like,” and often called “hyperbranched”) block copolymers comprised of rubbery polyisobutylene (PIB) and glassy polystyrene (PSt) blocks (arb‐PIB‐b‐PSt) is described. The syntheses were accomplished by the use of arb‐PIB macroinitiators (prepared by the use of 4‐(2‐methoxyisopropyl) styrene inimer) in conjunction with titanium tetrachloride (TiCl4). The effect of reaction conditions on blocking of St from arb‐PIB was investigated. Purified block copolymers were characterized by 1H NMR spectroscopy and Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC). arb‐PIB‐b‐PSt with 11.7–33.8 wt % PSt and Mn = 468,800–652,900 g/mol displayed thermoplastic elastomeric properties with 3.6–8.7 MPa tensile strength and 950–1830% elongation. Samples with 26.8–33.8 wt % PSt were further characterized by Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), which showed phase‐separated mixed spherical/cylindrical/lamellar PSt phases irregularly distributed within the continuous PIB phase. Dynamic Mechanical Thermal Analysis (DMTA) and solvent swelling of arb‐PIB‐b‐PSt revealed unique characteristics, in comparison with a semicommercial PSt‐b‐PIB‐b‐PSt block copolymer. The number of aromatic branching points of the arb‐PIB macroinitiator, determined by selective destruction of the linking sites, agreed well with that calculated from equilibrium swelling data of arb‐PIB‐b‐PSt. This method for the quantitative determination of branching sites might be generally applicable for arborescent polymers. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Calcification of implanted biomaterials is highly undesirable and limits clinical applicability. Experiments were carried out to assess the calcification resistance of polyisobutylene (PIB), PIB‐based polyurethane (PIB‐PU), PIB‐PU reinforced with (CH3)3N+CH2CH2CH2NH2 I?‐modified montmorillonite (PIB‐PU/nc), PIB‐based polyurethane urea (PIB‐PUU), PIB‐PU containing S atoms (PIBS‐PU), PIBS‐PU reinforced with (CH3)3N+CH2CH2CH2NH2 I?‐modified montmorillonite (PIBS‐PU/nc), and poly(isobutylene‐b‐styrene‐b‐isobutylene) (SIBS), relative to that of a clinically widely implanted polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)–based PU, Elast‐Eon (the “control”). Samples were incubated in simulated body fluid for 28 days at 37°C, and the extent of surface calcification was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), energy‐dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy (EDX), X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and Fourier‐transform‐infrared (FT‐IR) spectroscopy. Whereas the PDMS‐based PU showed extensive calcification, PIB and PIB‐PU containing 72.5% PIB, ie, a polyurethane whose surface is covered with PIB, were free of calcification. PIBS‐PU and PIB‐PUU, ie, polyurethanes that contain S or urea groups, respectively, were slightly calcified. The amine‐modified montmorillonite‐reinforcing agent reduced the extent of calcification. SIBS was found slightly calcified. Evidently, PIB and materials fully coated with PIB are calcification resistant.  相似文献

A series of novel three‐arm star blocks consisting of three polyisobutylene‐b‐poly(methyl methacrylate) (PIB‐b‐PMMA) diblocks radiating from a tricumyl core were synthesized, characterized, and tested. The synthetic strategy involved three steps: the synthesis of Clt ‐tritelechelic PIB by living cationic isobutylene (IB) polymerization, the conversion of the Clt termini to isobutyryl bromide groups, and the initiation of living radical methyl methacrylate (MMA) polymerization by the latter groups. The PIB and PMMA segment lengths (Mn 's) could be controlled by controlling the conditions of the living cationic and radical polymerizations of IB and MMA, respectively. Core destruction analysis directly proved the postulated three‐arm microarchitecture. The structures of the products were analyzed by 1H NMR and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopies, and their thermal properties were analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetric analysis. The presence of a low‐ and a high‐temperature glass transition (Tg,PIB ∼ −63°C, Tg,PMMA ∼ 120°C) indicated a phase‐separated micromorphology. Stress/strain analysis showed a tensile strength of up to ∼ 22.9 MPa and an elongation of ∼ 200%. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J Polym Sci A: Polym Chem 38: 706–714, 2000  相似文献

A series of well‐defined amphiphilic diblock copolymers consisting of hydrophobic polyisobutylene (PIB) and hydrophilic poly(2‐(diethylamino)ethyl methacrylate) (PDEAEMA) segments was synthesized via the combination of living carbocationic polymerization and reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization. Living carbocationic polymerization of isobutylene followed by end‐capping with 1,3‐butadiene was first performed at ?70 °C to give a well‐defined allyl‐Cl‐terminated PIB with a low polydispersity (Mw/Mn =1.29). This end‐functionalized PIB was further converted to a macromolecular chain transfer agent for mediating RAFT block copolymerization of 2‐(diethylamino)ethyl methacrylate at 60 °C in tetrahydrofuran to afford the target well‐defined PIB‐b‐PDEAEMA diblock copolymers with narrow molecular weight distributions (Mw/Mn ≤1.22). Two coordination polymers based on 1, 6‐bis(2‐methyl‐imidazole‐1‐yl)‐hexane (bimh), namely {[Zn3(BTC)2(bimh)] · (bimh)}n ( 1 ) and {[Zn(IPA)(bimh)] · (CH3CH2OH)0.5}n ( 2 ) (H3BTC = trimesic acid, H2IPA = isophthalic acid), were synthesized through hydrothermal reactions. In compound 1 , the zinc(II) ions are bridged by BTC3– ligands to form an undulating infinite two‐dimensional (2D) polymeric network. The 3D networks of 1 show a twofold interpenetrating net. In compound 2 , zinc(II) ions are bridged by IPA2– ligands to form one‐dimensional (1D) helical structures. The 2D structures of 2 are further assembled into 3D networks through aromatic π–π stacking interactions. Both compounds exhibit strong photoluminescence at room temperature and may be good candidates for potential luminescence materials.  相似文献
