Boron nitride nanotubes (BNNTs) are semiconductors with a wide band gap. In comparison with carbon nanotubes (CNTs), BNNTs have higher chemical stability, excellent mechanical properties and higher thermal conductivity. In this paper, we study the effect of diameters and substituting B and N atoms of various zigzag BNNTs with Al, on structural and electronic properties of BNNTs in solid state using the density functional theory method. The results of calculations of density of states and band structure (band) showed that the band gap between the valence and conduction level increases as a result of the enhancement of tube diameter of BNNTs. Finally, the results showed that the electronic properties of the pristine BNNTs can be improved by doping Al atom in the zigzag configuration of tubes.  相似文献

最近发现的插层三元铁硒超导体AyFexSe2(A=K,Rb,Cs和/或Tl)显示诸多新颖现象.为了澄清这些现象,作者分别计算了没有铁空位的基于完整四方FeSe层的AFe2Se2,含有四分之一铁空位的4×2或2×2超结构的AFe1.5Se2,以及含有五分之一铁空位的5 × 5 超结构的A0.8Fe1.6Se2三种情况下的电子结构和相应的磁构型,发现AFe2Se2是双共线反铁磁的半金属,而AFe1.5Se2和A0.8Fe1.6Se2则是分别具有数十和数百毫电子伏特能隙的反铁磁半导体,并分别处于共线反铁磁长程序和区块化棋盘反铁磁长程序中.作者还分析和讨论了AyFexSe2的这些基本电子结构可能对超导性质的影响.  相似文献

本文采用基于密度泛函理论下的第一性原理平面波赝势从头算量子力学方法,对闪锌矿结构AlN、AlP、AlAs和AlSb的电子结构和光学性质进行了研究.分析比较了这些化合物的能带结构、态密度、介电函数及折射率等性质,总结Al与不同V族元素形成化合物时的性质变化规律.结果表明,四种材料有着相似的能带结构,都是间接带隙宽禁带半导体,但是在导带底AlN的能态结构与其它三种材料明显不同.随着从AlN到AlSb的变化,光学性质曲线向低能端移动(红移趋势).  相似文献

The structural and electronic properties of semiconductors (Si and Ge) and metal (Au and Tl) atoms doped armchair (n, n) and zigzag (n, 0); n=4–6, single wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) have been studied using an ab-initio method. We have considered a linear chain of dopant atoms inside CNTs of different diameters but of same length. We have studied variation of B.E./atom, ionization potential, electron affinity and HOMO–LUMO gap of doped armchair and zigzag CNTs with diameter and dopant type. For armchair undoped CNTs, the B.E./atom increases with the increase in diameter of the tubes. For Si, Ge and Tl doped CNTs, B.E./atom is maximum for (6, 6) CNT whereas for Au doped CNTs, it is maximum for (5, 5) CNTs. For pure CNTs, IP decreases slightly with increasing diameter whereas EA increases with diameter. The study of HOMO–LUMO gap shows that on doping metallic character of the armchair CNTs increases whereas for zigzag CNTs semiconducting character increases. In case of zigzag tubes only Si doped (5, 0), (6, 0) and Ge doped (6, 0) CNTs are stable. The IP and EA for doped zigzag CNTs remain almost independent of tube diameter and dopant type whereas for doped armchair CNTs, maximum IP and EA are observed for (5, 5) tube for all dopants.  相似文献

The effects of C cation and S cation doping on the electronic structures and optical properties of SrTiO3 are investigated by density function theory (DFT) calculations. The calculated results reveal that the top of the valence band is predominately made up of the O 2p states for the pure SrTiO3. When SrTiO3 was doped with C cation and S cation, the top of the valence bands consists mainly of O 2p+C 2s hybrid orbitals and O 2p+S 3s hybrid orbitals, respectively. The band gap of SrTiO3 is narrowed by the doping with C cation and S cation, especially for the C and S-codoped SrTiO3. Moreover, the red shifts of the absorption edge are found by the calculated optical properties, which is consistent with reported experiment results. It is the explanation for their visible light respondency by the presence of C 2s and S 3s states on the upper edge of the valence band. All of these results can explain the good photocatalytic properties of C, S cation-codoped SrTiO3 under visible light irradiation.   相似文献

The development of new materials,having exceptional properties in comparison to existing materials is highly required for bringing advancement in electronic and optoelectronic technologies.Keeping this fact,we investigated structural,electronic,and optical properties of zincblende GaN doped with selected Zn concentrations(6.25%,12.50%,and 18.70%),using the first-principle calculations based on density functional theory with GGA+U.We conducted the entire study using the WIEN2K code.In this study,we calculated various significant parametric quantities such as cohesive energies,formation energies,bulk moduli,and lattice constants along with the study of optical and electronic properties by substituting Ga atoms with Zn atoms in 1×2×2 supercell.The structural stability is confirmed by studying the phonon dispersion curves which suggest that Zn:GaN material is stable against the 6.25%and 18.70%Zn concentrations while for 12.50%,it shows instability.The Hubbard values U=0,2,4,6 eV were added to GGA and the electronic properties were improved with the U=6 eV.Optical absorption was blue shifted while the refractive index and dielectric constant were increased with increasing the Zn concentrations.Electronic properties are enhanced due to the prime contribution of cations(Zn)3ri states.The optical and electronic properties are further discussed in detail in the entire study.  相似文献

Peramine, a heterocyclic natural molecule, reveals two main, different in nature, electronic absorption bands. Theoretical calculations at the TD‐B3LYP/6–311++G(d,p) level of theory show that the electronic excitations are connected predominantly with ππ* and charge‐transfer (CT) transitions. Excitation of electrons from the pyrrolopyrazinone ring to the side chain plays a role in creating the CT transition. The character and energy of the first 30 singlet–singlet electronic transitions have also been investigated for the most stable conformation of peramine. Abstract

By applying ab initio calculation within density functional theory (DFT), we study the structure parameters, electronic band structure, elastic coefficients, polycrystalline elastic properties, anisotropy factors and Debye temperature of ferroelectric and paraelectric phases of LiTaO3 within the generalised gradient approximation at ambient pressure. The atomic structure in both phases is fully relaxed and the lattice constant, angle and atomic positions are well consistent with experimental values. The computed single-crystal elastic coefficients indicate that mechanical stability of LiTaO3 in both phases is confirmed using the generalised Born criteria. The shear, bulk and Young’s modulus, Poisson’s ratio, and Vickers hardness were computed according to theoretical elastic constants by Voight–Reuss–Hill method. Several anisotropy factors and indexes are computed to illustrate mechanical anisotropy. Both phases are shown to be weakly anisotropic. The Debye temperature is estimated using the longitude and transverse elastic wave velocity of the ideal polycrystalline LiTaO3 aggregates. We have found that LiTaO3 in both phases has an indirect energy band gap. The differences in the electronic structure and density of states for both phases are quite small. Our results indicate that the mechanical and bonding properties of both phases are very similar. The obtained results were compared with the available experimental and theoretical values.  相似文献

The electronic and optical properties of InAs in core-level spectra are calculated using the full-potential linearized augmented plane wave plus local orbitials (FP-LAPW +lo) method. The real and imaginary parts of the dielectric function ε(ω), the optical absorption coefficient I(ω), the reflectivity R(ω), the refractive index n(ω), and the extinction coefficient k(ω)are calculated. All these values are in good agreement with the experimental data. The effect of spin-orbit coupling on optical properties is also investigated and found to be quite small.   相似文献

The plane wave pseudo-potential method was used to investigate the structural, electronic, and elastic properties of Cd Se_(1-x)Te_x in the zinc blende phase. It is observed that the electronic properties are improved considerably by using LDA + U as compared to the LDA approach. The calculated lattice constants and bulk moduli are also comparable to the experimental results. The cohesive energies for pure Cd Se and Cd Te binary and their mixed alloys are calculated. The second-order elastic constants are also calculated by the Lagrangian theory of elasticity. The elastic properties show that the studied material has a ductile nature.  相似文献

用第一性原理的密度泛函能带计算方法研究了新近发现的超导体MgCNi3的电子能带结构.计算结果表明其电子结构的基本特征是:Ni的3d态和C的2p态的杂化组成了MgCNi3的导带,费米面附近的物理性质主要由来源于Ni的3d电子态决定.在费米能级(EF)以下30eV的范围内,Ni 3d态构成了能带色散微弱的密集电子态,EF恰好落在Ni 3dyz+zx和3d3z2-r2电子态密度.C 2p态分布在EF以下40—70eV的区域内,Mg主要是以二价离子Mg2+的形式存在.Mg原子的掺杂导致了Ni原子的3d态基本上全部占据,引起Ni原子磁矩的消失.费米能级EF处的态密度N(EF)是550(states/eV·cell),由此得到的Sommerfeld常数γeal~445mJ/mol·K2.基于第一性原理的光学性质的计算结果表明:在0—12eV的范围内光吸收主要是从占据的Ni 3d态向C 2p和Ni4s的跃迁.根据这些结果得出结论:MgCNi3的超导电性基本上是强耦合的BCS电子-声子作用机理. 关键词: MgCNi3 高温超导体 电子结构 光学性质  相似文献

Charge transfer multiplet (CTM) theory is a computationally undemanding and highly mature method for simulating the soft X‐ray spectra of first‐row transition metal complexes. However, CTM theory has seldom been applied to the simulation of excited‐state spectra. In this article, the CTM4XAS software package is extended to simulate M2,3‐ and L2,3‐edge spectra for the excited states of first‐row transition metals and also interpret CTM eigenfunctions in terms of Russell–Saunders term symbols. These new programs are used to reinterpret the recently reported excited‐state M2,3‐edge difference spectra of photogenerated ferrocenium cations and to propose alternative assignments for the electronic state of these cations responsible for the spectroscopic features. These new programs were also used to model the L2,3‐edge spectra of FeII compounds during nuclear relaxation following photoinduced spin crossover and to propose spectroscopic signatures for their vibrationally hot states.  相似文献

The objective of this work is to provide an in‐depth interpretation of the electronic structures and optical properties of diindolocarbazole isomers. A systematic study of these different structures caused by the linkage pattern was performed via theoretical calculations. The optimized geometries, electronic properties, frontier molecular orbitals, ionization potentials, electron affinities, reorganization energies, and absorption and emission spectra of these isomers have been calculated and analyzed. Based on the detailed comparisons, the diindolocarbazoles act as candidates of different functional materials for optoelectronic application was predicted and the theoretical reference for the synthesis efforts and experimental investigation was provided. The antiaromatic compounds have received a great deal of attention for several decades because of their unusual electronic structures. The electronic structures and properties of antiaromatic pentalene and its six nitrogen heterocyclic derivatives were systematically studied by the density functional theory at the Becke, three‐parameter, Lee–Yang–Parr level with 6‐31G* basis set. The results indicated that all the monomers have stable singlet states and remarkable bond‐length alternations. From the dimer to polymer in those molecules, pentalene(P), cyclopenta[b]pyrrole(CPP), cyclopenta[d]imidazole(CPI), pyrrolo[2,3‐b]pyrrole(PP1) and pyrrolo[3,2‐d]imidazole(PI) are stable diradical structures; pyrrolo[3,2‐b]pyrrole (PP2) and imidazo[4,5‐d]imidazole(II) are stable singlet ground states. The electronic properties including bond length, bond‐length alternation, electron density at bond critical points, Wiberg bond index and nucleus‐independent chemical shift were analyzed. It was found that in diradical molecules the bond‐length alternations are diminished, the charge tends to equilibrate, the π‐electron delocalization and conjugation are strengthened. The electronic properties of singlet ground state molecules have nearly no variations from monomers to polymers. The band structure analysis shows that diradical structure molecules have small band gaps (<1.0 eV), wide bandwidth and small effective masses of holes and electrons which suggest that diradical structure molecules are very good candidates for conductive materials. 采用基于赝势平面波理论的第一性原理计算方法,研究了9种结构的固态二氧化碳的结构和性质.经过结构的几何优化,得到α石英稳定结构晶格常数与他人的计算值基本一致.通过对平衡态能量的分析,我们得出β方石英(cristobalite)结构是能量最低的结构.这与文献的研究结果一致.对弹性性质的计算结果表明,除了超石英(stishovite)和立方黄铁矿(cubic-pyrite)结构之外,其他的结构都是弹性稳定的.利用基于Mulliken轨道重叠布居数的共价固体本征硬度计算方法,预测了各个结构的本征硬度值.结果表明, 关键词: 第一性原理计算 固态二氧化碳 电子结构 硬度  相似文献

利用基于密度泛函理论的第一性原理方法对黑索金晶体的电子结构和光学性质进行了计算. 结果表明: 黑索金是能隙值为3.43 eV的绝缘体, 价带主要由C, N和O的2s与2p态构成, 而导带主要由N-2p和O-2p态构成; 静态介电函数ε1(0)=1.38, 介电常数的虚部有5个峰值, 其中最大峰值在光子能量4.59 eV处, 并对造成这些峰值的可能的电子跃迁做了详细分析. 利用能带结构和态密度分析了黑索金的光反射系数、吸收系数及能量损失函数等光学性质, 发现黑索金是对光吸收、反射及能量损失不敏感的材料. 关键词: 黑索金 第一性原理 电子结构 光学性质  相似文献
