Deligne cohomology can be viewed as a differential refinement of integral cohomology, hence captures both topological and geometric information. On the other hand, it can be viewed as the simplest nontrivial version of a differential cohomology theory. While more involved differential cohomology theories have been explicitly twisted, the same has not been done to Deligne cohomology, although existence is known at a general abstract level. We work out what it means to twist Deligne cohomology, by taking degree one twists of both integral cohomology and de Rham cohomology. We present the main properties of the new theory and illustrate its use with examples and applications. Given how versatile Deligne cohomology has proven to be, we believe that this explicit and utilizable treatment of its twisted version will be useful.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the cohomology theory of Hom-Lie triple systems generalizing the Yamaguti cohomology theory of Lie triple systems. We introduce the central extension theory for Hom-Lie triple systems and show that there is a one-to-one correspondence between equivalent classes of central extensions of Hom-Lie triple systems and the third cohomology group. We develop the 1-parameter formal deformation theory of Hom-Lie triple systems and prove that it is governed by the cohomology group.  相似文献

We construct a new equivariant cohomology theory for a certain class of differential vertex algebras, which we call the chiral equivariant cohomology. A principal example of a differential vertex algebra in this class is the chiral de Rham complex of Malikov-Schechtman-Vaintrob of a manifold with a group action. The main idea in this paper is to synthesize the algebraic approach to classical equivariant cohomology due to H. Cartan,2 with the theory of differential vertex algebras, by using an appropriate notion of invariant theory. We also construct the vertex algebra analogues of the Mathai-Quillen isomorphism, the Weil and the Cartan models for equivariant cohomology, and the Chern-Weil map. We give interesting cohomology classes in the new theory that have no classical analogues.  相似文献

Hom-Lie algebras were introduced by J. Hartwig, D. Larsson, and S. Silvestrov as a generalized Lie algebra. When studying the homology and cohomology theory of Hom-Lie algebras, the authors find that the low-dimensional cohomology theory of Hom-Lie algebras is not well studied because of the Hom-Jacobi identity. In this paper, the authors compute the first and second cohomology groups of the q-deformed Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra of Hom-type, which will be useful to build the low-dimensional cohomology theory of Hom-Lie algebras.  相似文献

Comparing to the Ch-~Ruan cohomology theory for the almost complex orbifolds, we study the orbifold cohomology theory for almost contact orbifolds. We define the Chen-Ruan cohomology group of any almost contact orbifold. Using the methods for almost complex orbifolds, we define the obstruction bundle for any 3-multisector of the almost contact orbifolds and the Chen~Ruan cup product for the Che-Ruan cohomology. We also prove that under this cup product the direct sum of all dimensional orbifold cohomology groups constitutes a cohomological ring. Finally we calculate two examples.  相似文献

In this paper, we use conformal field theory to construct a generalized cohomology theory which has some properties of elliptic cohomology theory which was some properties of elliptic cohomology. A part of our presentation is a rigorous definition of conformal field theory following Segal's axioms, and some examples, such as lattice theories associated with a unimodular even lattice. Motivated by the classical Gorenstein homological theory and structure of Tate cohomology, we develop a theory of Gorenstein projective objects and Tate cohomology in an exact category A with enough projectives. We study some properties of Gorenstein projective objects and establish Tate cohomology of objects with finite Gorenstein projective dimension.  相似文献

We study the Kac cohomology for matched pairs of locally compact groups. This cohomology theory arises from the extension theory of locally compact quantum groups. We prove a measurable version of the Kac exact sequence and provide methods to compute the cohomology. We give explicit calculations in several examples using results of Moore and Wigner.

This paper continues the development of the deformation theory of abelian categories introduced in a previous paper by the authors. We show first that the deformation theory of abelian categories is controlled by an obstruction theory in terms of a suitable notion of Hochschild cohomology for abelian categories. We then show that this Hochschild cohomology coincides with the one defined by Gerstenhaber, Schack and Swan in the case of module categories over diagrams and schemes and also with the Hochschild cohomology for exact categories introduced recently by Keller. In addition we show in complete generality that Hochschild cohomology satisfies a Mayer-Vietoris property and that for constantly ringed spaces it coincides with the cohomology of the structure sheaf.  相似文献

We study the non-abelian Hopf cohomology theory of Radford products with coefficients in a comodule algebra. We show that these sets can be expressed in terms of the non-abelian Hopf cohomology theory of each factor of the Radford product. We write down an exact sequence relating these objects. This allows to compute explicitly the non-abelian Hopf cohomology sets in large classes of examples.  相似文献

In this paper we give a new approach to the theory of bounded cohomology. The ideas of relative homological algebra, modified so that they are based on a natural seminorm in the bounded cohomology, play a central role in this approach. We study an integration theory in circle equivariant cohomology in order to prove a theorem relating the cohomology ring of a hyperkähler quotient to the cohomology ring of the quotient by a maximal abelian subgroup, analogous to a theorem of Martin for symplectic quotients. We discuss applications of this theorem to quiver varieties, and compute as an example the ordinary and equivariant cohomology rings of a hyperpolygon space.  相似文献

We develop the obstruction theory of the 2-category of abelian track categories, pseudofunctors and pseudonatural transformations by using the cohomology of categories. The obstructions are defined in Baues-Wirsching cohomology groups. We introduce translation cohomology to classify endomorphisms in the 2-category of abelian track categories. In a sequel to this paper we will show, under certain conditions which are satisfied by all homotopy categories, that a translation cohomology class determines the exact triangles of a triangulated category.  相似文献
