A Dirac picture perturbation theory is developed for the time evolution operator in classical dynamics in the spirit of the Schwinger–Feynman–Dyson perturbation expansion and detailed rules are derived for computations. Complexification formalisms are given for the time evolution operator suitable for phase space analyses, and then extended to a two-dimensional setting for a study of the geometrical Berry phase as an example. Finally a direct integration of Hamilton's equations is shown to lead naturally to a path integral expression, as a resolution of the identity, as applied to arbitrary functions of generalized coordinates and momenta.  相似文献

By using group representation theory,the quasi-adiabatic approximation solution of the schrodinger equation of a quantum system with slowly-changing Hamiltonian are presented in this paper.We not only obtained the Berry phase factor and strictly proved the quantum adiabatic theorem as the zeroth-order approximation,but also studied the universal Berry phase factor and its geometrical interpretation when the adiabatic condition is violated.It is pointed out that this universal Berry phase factor has observable effects.  相似文献

The problem of determining the representation matrices of SU(4) is investigated. A convenient set of parameters is first introduced by writing the general element of the group as a product of exponential functions of the generators, and the generators are expressed as differential operators involving these parameters. Special matrix elements of finite transformations with a SU(3) singlet as the initial state are then obtained by solving the eigenvalue equation of the quadratic Casimir operator of SU(4). The solution has the form of a product of elementary functions and threed mm j functions of SU(2) and is free from summation over intermediate states. By expanding one of thed mm j functions in an appropriate series a sum rule for the special matrix elements of the permutation operator 12343412 is obtained. The discussions are strictly confined to SU(4), but, some of the results given here can be extended to unitary groups of higher dimensions.  相似文献

The dynamics for a system of hard spheres with dissipative collisions is described at the levels of statistical mechanics, kinetic theory, and simulation. The Liouville operator(s) and associated binary scattering operators are defined as the generators for time evolution in phase space. The BBGKY hierarchy for reduced distribution functions is given, and an approximate kinetic equation is obtained that extends the revised Enskog theory to dissipative dynamics. A Monte Carlo simulation method to solve this equation is described, extending the Bird method to the dense, dissipative hard-sphere system. A practical kinetic model for theoretical analysis of this equation also is proposed. As an illustration of these results, the kinetic theory and the Monte Carlo simulations are applied to the homogeneous cooling state of rapid granular flow.  相似文献

The phase law of generally covariant electrodynamics is used to explain straightforwardly the origin of the geometrical and Berry phase effects, exemplified by the Tomita-Chiao effect. Both effects are described by a phase factor that is constructed from the generally covariant Stokes formula of differential geometry, a phase factor in which the contour integral over the potential field A (3) is equated to the area integral over the gauge invariant field B (3), the Evans-Vigier field. The latter is the fundamental spin Casimir invariant of the Einstein group of general relativity applied to electrodynamics. General relativity as extended in the Evans unified field theory is needed for a correct understanding of all phase effects in physics, an understanding that is forged through the Evans phase law, the origin both of the Berry phase and the geometrical phase of electrodynamics observed in the Sagnac and Tomita-Chiao effects.  相似文献

In this paper, we present the explicit expressions of the gauge operators for pseudoscslar fields in a gauge theory coupled vector and axial-vector fields with the aid of the method of operator algebras.The gauge operators of the pure gauge field theory under the chiral group SU(N)×SU(N) are also presented. In this paper, we investigate the Berry phase of two coupled arbitrary spins driven by a time-varying magnetic field where the Hamiltonian is explicitly time-dependent. Using a technique of time-dependent gauge transform the Berry phase and time-evolution operator are found explicitly in the adiabatic approximation. The general solutions for arbitrary spins are applied to the spin-1/2\ system as an example of explanation.  相似文献

We show that the time-dependent two-mode Fresnel operator is just the time-evolutional unitary operator governed by the Hamiltonian composed of quadratic combination of canonical operators in the way of exhibiting SU(1,1) algebra. This is an approach for obtaining the time-dependent Hamiltonian from the preassigned time evolution in classical phase space, an approach which is in contrast to Lewis-Riesenfeld's invariant operator theory of treating timedependent harmonic oscillators.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to the study of BRST charge in perturbed two-dimensional conformal field theory. The main goal is to write the operator equation expressing the conservation law of BRST charge in perturbed theory in terms of purely algebraic operations on the corresponding operator algebra, which are defined via the OPE. The corresponding equations are constructed and their symmetries are studied up to the second order in formal coupling constant. It appears that the obtained equations can be interpreted as generalized Maurer–Cartan ones. We study two concrete examples in detail: the bosonic nonlinear sigma model and perturbed first order theory. In particular, we show that the Einstein equations, which are the conformal invariance conditions for both these perturbed theories, expanded up to the second order, can be rewritten in such generalized Maurer–Cartan form.  相似文献

It is found that in the SU(3) broken quark model the SU(3) generators and their time derivatives belong to the SU(3) × SU(3) algebra. Using this algebra and the infinite momentum method the SU(3) mass sum rules are obtained. The possibility is discussed that normal spin-parity nonets and anomalous ones differ in the structure of the mass spectrum.  相似文献

We construct a self-adjoint time operator for massless relativistic systems in terms of the generators of the Poincaré group. The Lie algebra generated by the time operator and the generators of the Poincaré group turns out to be an infinitedimensional extension of the Poincaré algebra. The internal time operator generates two new entities, namely the velocity operator and the internal position operator. The transformation properties of the internal time and position operator under Lorentz boosts are different from what one would expect from relativity theory. This difference reflects the fact that the time concept associated with the internal time operator is radically different from the time coordinate of Minkowski space, due to the nonlocality of the time operator. The spectral projections of the time operator allow us to construct incoming subspaces for the wave equation without invoking Huygens' principle, as in two and one spatial dimensions where Huygens' principle does not hold.  相似文献

Exact quantum states of the time-dependent quadratic Hamiltonian system are investigated using SU(1,1) Lie algebra. We realized SU(1,1) Lie algebra by defining appropriate SU(1,1) generators and derived exact wave functions using this algebra for the system. Raising and lowering operators of SU(1,1) Lie algebra expressed by multiplying a time-constant magnitude and a time-dependent phase factor. Two kinds of the SU(1,1) coherent states, i.e., even and odd coherent states and Perelomov coherent states are studied. We applied our result to the Caldirola–Kanai oscillator. The probability density of these coherent states for the Caldirola–Kanai oscillator converged to the center as time goes by, due to the damping constant γ. In this paper, a modified warping operator for homogeneous shallow water based on the Beam-Displacement Ray-Mode (BDRM) theory is presented. According to the BDRM theory, the contribution of the beam displacement and the time delay to the group velocity can be easily considered in a shallow water waveguide. A more accurate dispersion formula is derived by using the cycle distance formula to calculate the group velocity of normal modes. The derived dispersion formula can be applied to the homogeneous shallow water waveguide. Theoretically, the formula is related to the phase of the reflection coefficient and suitable for various bottom models. Furthermore, based on the derived dispersion relation, the modified warping operator is developed to obtain linear modal structures. For the Pekeris model, the formulae for the phase of the reflection coefficient are derived in this work. By taking account of the effect of the bottom attenuation on the reflection coefficient, the formula for the phase of the reflection coefficient including the bottom attenuation is obtained for the Pekeris model with a lossy bottom. Performance and accuracy of different formulae are evaluated and compared. The numerical simulations indicate that the derived dispersion formulae and the modified warping operator are more accurate.  相似文献

Recent experiments have observed bulk superconductivity in doped topological insulators. Here we ask whether vortex Majorana zero modes, previously predicted to occur when s-wave superconductivity is induced on the surface of topological insulators, survive in these doped systems with metallic normal states. Assuming inversion symmetry, we find that they do but only below a critical doping. The critical doping is tied to a topological phase transition of the vortex line, at which it supports gapless excitations along its length. The critical point depends only on the vortex orientation and a suitably defined SU(2) Berry phase of the normal state Fermi surface. By calculating this phase for available band structures we determine that superconducting p-doped Bi(2)Te(3), among others, supports vortex end Majorana modes. Surprisingly, superconductors derived from topologically trivial band structures can support Majorana modes too.  相似文献
