We present a new method for the construction of shape-preserving curves interpolating a given set of 3D data. The interpolating functions are obtained using quintic-like spaces of polynomial splines with variable degrees. These splines are of class C 3 and are therefore curvature and torsion continuous and possess a very simple geometric structure, which permits to easily handle the shape-constraints.  相似文献

The paper proposes a method for the construction of a shape preserving C2 function interpolating a given set of data. The constructed interpolant is a parametric cubic curve. The shape of the curve can be easily controlled via tension parameters which have an immediate geometric interpretation. In order to relieve the deficiency of the usual cubic Hermite spline curves, the quartic Hermite spline curves with shape parameters is further studied in this work. The interpolation error and estimator of the quartic Hermite spline curves are given. And the characteristics of the quartic Hermite spline curves are discussed. The quartic Hermite spline curves not only have the same interpolation and conti-nuity properties of the usual cubic Hermite spline curves, but also can achieve local or global shape adjustment and C2 continuity by the shape parameters when the interpolation conditions are fixed.  相似文献

This paper concerns two fundamental interpolants to convex bivariate scattered data. The first,u, is the supremum over all convex Lagrange interpolants and is piecewise linear on a triangulation. The other,l, is the infimum over all convex Hermite interpolants and is piecewise linear on a tessellation. We discuss the existence, uniqueness, and numerical computation ofu andl and the associated triangulation and tessellation. The purpose of this paper is to put forward a kind of Hermite interpolation scheme on the unit sphere. We prove the superposition interpolation process for Hermite interpolation on the sphere and give some examples of interpolation schemes. The numerical examples shows that this method for Hermite interpolation on the sphere is feasible. And this paper can be regarded as an extension and a development of Lagrange interpolation on the sphere since it includes Lagrange interpolation as a particular case.  相似文献

We analyze the critical length for design purposes of six-dimensional spaces invariant under translations and reflections containing the functions 1, cos t and sin t. These spaces also contain the first degree polynomials as well as trigonometric and/or hyperbolic functions. We identify the spaces whose critical length for design purposes is greater than 2π and find its maximum 4π. By a change of variables, two biparametric families of spaces arise. We call shape preservation region to the set of admissible parameters in order that the space has shape preserving representations for curves. We describe the shape preserving regions for both families.
