A Schrödinger-like relativistic wave equation of motion for the Lorentz-scalar potential is formulated based on a Lagrangian formalism of relativistic mechanics with a scaled time as the evolution parameter. Applications of this Schrödinger-like formalism for the Lorentz-scalar potential are given: For the square-step potential, the predictions of this formalism are free from the Klein paradox, and for the Coulomb potential, this formalism yields the exact bound-state eigenenergies and eigenfunctions.  相似文献

The relationship between symmetries and Gauss kernels for the Schrödinger equation iut=uxx+f(x)u is established. It is shown that if the Lie point symmetries of the equation are nontrivial, a classical integral transformations of the Gauss kernels can be obtained. Then the Gauss kernels of Schrödinger equations are derived by inverting the integral transformations. Furthermore, the relationship between Gauss kernels for two equations related by an equivalence transformation is identified.  相似文献

The nonlinear diffusion process, which can be described as the Nelson-Brown motion, is considered. The obtained equation becomes the classical linear diffusion equation for small relaxation times, and for long relaxation times it is transferred into the Schrödinger-like equation. Variational extremization of the relative Fisher information (RFI, hereafter) is performed. Reciprocity relations, akin to those of thermodynamics are derived, employing the extremal results of the RFI expressed in terms of probability amplitudes. A time independent Schrödinger-like equation (Schrödinger-like link) for the RFI is derived. The concomitant Legendre transform structure (LTS, hereafter) is developed by utilizing a generalized RFI-Euler theorem, which shows that the entire mathematical structure of thermodynamics translates into the RFI framework, both for equilibrium and non-equilibrium cases. The qualitatively distinct nature of the present results vis-á-vis those of prior studies utilizing the Shannon entropy and/or the Fisher information measure (FIM, hereafter) is discussed. A principled relationship between the RFI and the FIM frameworks is derived. The utility of this relationship is demonstrated by an example wherein the energy eigenvalues of the Schrödinger-like link for the RFI are inferred solely using the quantum mechanical virial theorem and the LTS of the RFI.  相似文献

A Schrödinger-like formalism of relativistic quantum theory is presented based on an alternative Lagrangian formalism of relativistic mechanics with the proper time as the evolution parameter. The Schrödinger-like formalism resolves the great difficulties of negative probability density, Klein paradox, and Zitterbewegung. Ehrenfest's theorem is preserved in the Schrödinger-like formalism.  相似文献

We apply a linear perturbation analysis to investigate the relationship between soliton oscillations and the integrability of nonlinear PDEs in bi-dimensional spacetime. For this purpose, we consider a localized solution of the nonlinear differential equation, and study small amplitude fluctuations around it. The linearized equation is a Schrödinger-like, eigenvalue problem. By considering several nonlinear PDEs, which are known to have soliton and solitary wave solutions, we find that in systems which are integrable, this eigenvalue equation has one and only one bound state with zero frequency. Non-integrable equations—in contrast—show extra bound states. The time evolution of the oscillations are also calculated, using a numerical program to integrate the time-dependent equation. The behavior of the modes are studied, using the Fourier transform of the evolving solutions.  相似文献

The massless Dirac equation is separated in the Robertson-Walker geometry. The Schrödinger-like one-dimensional equation to which the problem is reduced is shown to admit a discrete positive spectrum. A path integral formulation is used in the superspace of geometries leading to a model of quantum gravity. It is shown that this method agrees with the standard path integral technique in the special case of Friedmann universes. A Schrödinger-like equation is set up, leading to the stationary states. The relativistic problems of neutral fermions subject to a new partially exactly solvable PT-symmetric potential and an exactly solvable PT-symmetric hyperbolic cosecant potential in 1+1 dimensions are investigated. The Dirac equation with the double-well-like mass distribution in the background of the PT-symmetric vector potential coupling can be mapped into the Schrödinger-like equation with the partially exactly solvable double-well potential. The position-dependent effective mass Dirac equation with the PT-symmetric hyperbolic cosecant potential can be mapped into the Schrödinger-like equation with the exactly solvable modified Pöschl-Teller potential. The real relativistic energy levels and corresponding spinor wavefunctions for the bound states have been given in a closed form.  相似文献

In this article, we discuss the propagation of scalar fields in conformally transformed spacetimes with either minimal or conformal coupling. The conformally coupled equation of motion is transformed into a one-dimensional Schrödinger-like equation with an invariant potential under conformal transformation. In a second stage, we argue that calculations based on conformal coupling yield the same Hawking temperature as those based on minimal coupling. Finally, it is conjectured that the quasi normal modes of black holes are invariant under conformal transformation.  相似文献

The (i) reciprocity relations for the relative Fisher information (RFI, hereafter) and (ii) a generalized RFI–Euler theorem are self-consistently derived from the Hellmann–Feynman theorem. These new reciprocity relations generalize the RFI–Euler theorem and constitute the basis for building up a mathematical Legendre transform structure (LTS, hereafter), akin to that of thermodynamics, that underlies the RFI scenario. This demonstrates the possibility of translating the entire mathematical structure of thermodynamics into a RFI-based theoretical framework. Virial theorems play a prominent role in this endeavor, as a Schrödinger-like equation can be associated to the RFI. Lagrange multipliers are determined invoking the RFI–LTS link and the quantum mechanical virial theorem. An appropriate ansatz allows for the inference of probability density functions (pdf’s, hereafter) and energy-eigenvalues of the above mentioned Schrödinger-like equation. The energy-eigenvalues obtained here via inference are benchmarked against established theoretical and numerical results. A principled theoretical basis to reconstruct the RFI-framework from the FIM framework is established. Numerical examples for exemplary cases are provided.  相似文献

We study monopole perturbations of spherically symmetric scalar-vacuum and scalar-electrovacuum fields in general relativity and reduce the problem to a one-dimensional Schrödinger-like equation with a certain effective potential. Imposing certain boundary conditions, we select physically meaningful perturbations. Some of them grow exponentially and we conclude that the background system is unstable.  相似文献

Scattering and bound states for a spinless particle in the background of a kink-like smooth step potential, added with a scalar uniform background, are considered with a general mixing of vector and scalar Lorentz structures. The problem is mapped into the Schrödinger-like equation with an effective Rosen–Morse potential. It is shown that the scalar uniform background present subtle and trick effects for the scattering states and reveals itself a high-handed element for formation of bound states. In that process, it is shown that the problem of solving a differential equation for the eigenenergies is transmuted into the simpler and more efficient problem of solving an irrational algebraic equation.  相似文献

We develop and deploy an envelope function formalism in order to study graded photonic crystals – periodic photonic media whose features vary continuously with position. We use the method to reduce the properties of the uniform crystals to the spectral position of their band edges and an effective mass-like term. These are employed within the Schrödinger-like equation derived herein to determine the behaviour of light inside a specific graded photonic crystal created using depth-dependent infiltration of an artificial opal.  相似文献

In this work we show that universal gauge vector fields can be localized on the recently proposed 5D thick tachyonic braneworld which involves a de Sitter cosmological background induced on the 3-brane. Namely, by performing a suitable decomposition of the vector field, the resulting 4D effective action corresponds to a massive gauge field, while the profile along the extra dimension obeys a Schrödinger-like equation with a Pöschl–Teller potential. It turns out that the massless zero mode of the gauge field is bound to the expanding 3-brane and allows us to recover the standard 4D electromagnetic phenomena of our world. Moreover, this zero mode is separated from the continuum of Kaluza–Klein (KK) modes by a mass gap determined by the scale of the expansion parameter. We also were able to analytically solve the corresponding Schrödinger-like equation for arbitrary mass, showing that KK massive modes asymptotically behave like plane waves, as expected.  相似文献
