Under certain conditions, the contraction mapping fixed point theorem guarantees the convergence of the iterationx i+1=f(x i ) toward a fixed point of the functionf:R nR n. When an interval extensionF off is used in a similar iteration scheme to obtain a sequence of interval vectors these conditions need not provide convergence to a degenerate interval vector representing the fixed point, even if the width of the initial interval vector is chosen arbitrarily small. We give a sufficient condition on the extensionF in order that the convergence is guaranteed. The centered form of Moore satisfies this condition.  相似文献

We generalize earlier results of Fokas and Liu and find all locally analytic (1 + 1)-dimensional evolution equations of order n that admit an N-shock-type solution with Nn + 1. For this, we develop a refinement of the technique from our earlier work, where we completely characterized all (1+1)-dimensional evolution systems u t = F (x, t, u, ?u/?x,..., ?n u/? x n) that are conditionally invariant under a given generalized (Lie-Bäcklund) vector field Q(x, t, u, ?u/?x,..., ?k u/?x k)?/?u under the assumption that the system of ODEs Q = 0 is totally nondegenerate. Every such conditionally invariant evolution system admits a reduction to a system of ODEs in t, thus being a nonlinear counterpart to quasi-exactly solvable models in quantum mechanics.  相似文献

We consider the blow-up of the solution to a semilinear heat equation with nonlinear boundary condition. We establish conditions on nonlinearities sufficient to guarantee that u(x, t) exists for all time t > 0 as well as conditions on data forcing the solution u(x, t) to blow up at some finite time t*. Moreover, an upper bound for t* is derived. Under somewhat more restrictive conditions, lower bounds for t* are also derived.  相似文献

The concepts of geometric and topological tame point are introduced for a space of nonpositive curvature. These concepts are applied to the characterization problem forCAT(0) 4-manifolds. It is shown that everyCAT(0)M 4 having a single (geometric or topological) tame point is homeomorphic toR 4. We study the semilinear wave equation utt?Δu=p?k|u|m in R×Rn, where p is a conformal factor approaching 0 at infinity. We prove that the solutions blow-up in finite time for small powers m, while having an arbitrarily long life-span for large m. The paper is devoted to the following problem. Consider the set of all radial functions with centers at the points of a closed surface inR n . Are such functions complete in the spaceL q (R n )? It is shown that the answer is positive if and only ifq is not less than 2n/(n + 1). A similar question is also answered for Riemannian symmetric spaces of rank 1. Relations of this problem with the wave and heat equations are also discussed.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the question of existence and non-existence of solutions of (I) and prove that (I) admits a solution if and only if $$\frac{1}{{p + 1}} + \frac{1}{{q + 1}} > \frac{{n - 2}}{n}$$ . The existence on a ball and onR n are established by a variational approach and an approximation argument respectively. The Pohozaev identity is used to show non-existence onR n .  相似文献

For i=1 or i=-1, define D i as the set of x in R such thatφ λ Π =i. We prove the following results: 1) D i is a Hadamard difference set of (R,+). 2) If φ is the Gray map of R into ${\mathbb{F}}_2^{2m}$ , then (D i) is a difference set of ${\mathbb{F}}_2^{2m}$ . 3) The set of D i and the set of φ(D i) obtained for all maps λ and Π, both are one-to-one image of the set of binary Maiorana-McFarland difference sets in a simple way. We also prove that special multiplicative subgroups of R are difference sets of kind D i in the additive group of R. Examples are given by means of morphisms and norm in R.  相似文献

The local and global well-posedness for the Cauchy problem for a class of nonlinear Schrödinger equations is studied. The global well-posedness of the problem is proved in the Sobolev spaceH s=Hs(R n) of fractional orders>n/2 under the following assumptions. (1) Concerning the Cauchy data ?∈H s: ‖?;L 2‖ is relatively small with respect to ‖?;H σ‖ for any fixed σ withn/2<σ≤s. Using Eisenman intrinsic measures we prove a cancellation theorem. This theorem allows to find new examples of exotic analytic structures onC n under which we understand smooth complex affine algebraic varietiers which are diffeomorphic toR 2n but not biholomorphic toC n . We also develop a new method of constructing these structures which enables us to produce exotic analytic structures onC 3 with a given number of hypersurfaces isomorphic toC 2 and a family of these structures with a given number of moduli.  相似文献

In this paper, a class of multiobjective fractional programming problems (denoted by (MFP)) is considered. First, the concept of higher-order (F,α,ρ,d)-convexity of a function f:CR with respect to the differentiable function φ:R n ×R n R is introduced, where C is an open convex set in R n and α:C×CR +?{0} is a positive value function. And an important property, which the ratio of higher-order (F,α,ρ,d)-convex functions is also higher-order (F,α ,ρ ,d )-convex, is proved. Under the higher-order (F,α,ρ,d)-convexity assumptions, an alternative theorem is also given. Then, some sufficient conditions characterizing properly (or weakly) efficient solutions of (MFP) are obtained from the above property and alternative theorem. Finally, a class of dual problems is formulated and appropriate duality theorems are proved.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove a good-λ inequality between the nontangential maximal function and the square area integral of a subharmonic functionu in a bounded NTA domainD inR n . We achieve this by showing that a weighted Riesz measure ofu is a Carleson measure, with the Carleson norm bounded by a constant independent ofu. As consequences of the good-λ inequality, we obtain McConnell-Uchiyama's inequality and an analogue of Murai-Uchiyama's inequality for subharmonic functions inD.  相似文献

Given a convex body ${K\subset\mathbb{R}^n}$ (n??? 1) which contains o in its interior and ${{\bf u} \in S^{n-1}}$ , we introduce conic volume ratio r(K, u) of K in the direction of u by $$r(K, {\bf u})=\frac{vol(cone(K,{\bf u})\cap B_2^n)}{vol(B_2^n)},$$ where cone(K, u) is the packing cone of K in the direction of u. We prove that if K is an o-symmetric convex body in ${\mathbb{R}^n}$ and r(K, u) is a constant function of u, then K must be a Euclidean ball.  相似文献

We shall prove that every function locally integrable in then-dimensional Euclidean spaceR n can be expanded into a series whose terms are the Steklov means of the second differences of the given function. In addition, the lengths of the edges of the cubes with respect to which averaging is taken form an infinite decreasing geometric progression. The series obtained in this way converge almost everywhere inR n .
