We study semileptonic decays B→η(′)lν, taking into account the flavor-singlet contribution (Fsinglet+) to the B→η(′) form factors, which arises from the two-gluon emission in a decaying B meson. It has been recently pointed out that, in addition to large weak annihilation effects, the unknown value of Fsinglet+ prevents accurate theoretical estimates in the analysis of B→η′K decays in QCD factorization. We present a certain method to determine Fsinglet+ with a reasonable accuracy, using B→η(′)lν and B→πlν decays. We also investigate the possible effect of Fsinglet+ on the estimated branching ratios (BRs) for B→η(′)lν and find that the BR for B→η′lν is particularly sensitive to the effect of Fsinglet+.  相似文献

We discuss the possibility of discriminating between different supersymmetric see-saw models by improving the experimental sensitivity to charged lepton flavour violating processes. Assuming a hierarchical neutrino mass spectrum, we classify see-saw models according to how the hierarchy Δm2Δm2atm is generated, and study the predictions of each class for the branching ratios of τ→μγ and μ→eγ. The process τ→μγ is found to be a particularly promising tool to probe the fundamental see-saw parameters, and especially to identify the origin of the large atmospheric mixing angle. Predictions for μ→eγ are more model-dependent. We point out that, even with an improvement of the experimental sensitivities by three orders of magnitude, both τ→μγ and μ→eγ could escape detection in models where Δm2atm is determined by one of the lightest right-handed neutrinos.  相似文献

In the light of the recent muon (gμ−2) result by the E821 experiment at the Brookhaven National Laboratory, we study the event rates of the charged lepton-flavour-violating (LFV) processes in the supersymmetric standard model (SUSY SM) with the heavy right-handed neutrinos (SUSY see-saw model). Since the left-handed sleptons get the LFV masses via the neutrino Yukawa interaction in this model, the event rate of μ→eγ and the SUSY-SM correction to (gμ−2)/2 (δaμSUSY) are strongly correlated. When the left-handed sleptons have a LFV mass between the first and second generations ( ) in the mass matrix, it should be suppressed by 10−3 (10−9aμSUSY) compared with the diagonal components (mSUSY2), from the current experimental bound on μ→eγ. The recent (gμ−2) result indicates δaμSUSY10−9. The future charged LFV experiments could cover . These experiments will give a significant impact on the flavour models and the SUSY-breaking models. In the SUSY see-saw model is proportional to square of the tau-neutrino Yukawa-coupling constant. In the typical models where the neutrino-oscillation results are explained and the top-quark and tau-neutrino Yukawa couplings are unified at the GUT scale, a large LFV mass of is generated, and the large LFV event rates are predicted. We impose a so-called no-scale condition for the SUSY-breaking parameters at the GUT scale, which suppresses the FCNC processes, and derive the conservative lower bound on μ→eγ. The predicted Br(μ→eγ) could be covered at the future LFV experiments.  相似文献

The minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) with universal soft breaking terms has a negligible effect on the rare cuγ decay rate. We therefore study a general model with non-universal soft breaking terms constrained by vacuum stability and the experimental upper bound on the mass difference of the neutral charm mesons. It turns out that gluino exchange can enhance the standard model rate by up to two orders of magnitudes; in contrast, the contributions from charginos and neutralinos remain at least an order of magnitude below the QCD corrected standard model rate.  相似文献

The reactions pppΛK+ and pppΣ0K+ are studied near their thresholds. The strangeness production process is described by the π- and K exchange mechanisms. Effects from the final state interaction in the hyperon-nucleon system are taken into account rigorously. The Λ production turns out to be dominated by K exchange whereas K- as well as π exchange play an important role for the Σ0 case. It is shown that the experimentally observed strong suppression of Σ0 production compared to Λ production at the same excess energy can be explained by a destructive interference between π and K exchange in the reaction pppΣ0K+. Implications of such an interference on the reaction ppnΣ+K+ are pointed out.  相似文献

We study the cross sections for the production of neneural, intermediate mass Higgs boson in the process pptq′φ, pptWφ and ppbZ0φ in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (φ = H0, h0 and A0) at Supercollider energies. The additional heavy particles (t, W, Z) in the final state can be used for tagging purposes, increasing the signal to background ratio. These reactions are dominated by bg and bg fusion. Their relevance for Higgs particle searches is discussed taking into account the expected efficiencies and purities for b-tagging. We find that, for tan β = 30, the cross sections for ppbZ0φ are larger than 14 pb, over the whole intemediate range of MA0, for A0 and at least one of the other two Higgses. Therefore this reaction is an excellent candidate for the discovery of one or more MSSM Higgs particles.  相似文献

We present constraints on the relative photoproduction cross sections of positive parity pentaquark states, Σ5, Λ5, and N5, based on a minimum phenomenology gained in and their baryon–meson couplings as in the work of Close and Dudek. The possibility of anomalous signals in γpK0S+d+) is discussed. We emphasize the importance of comparing with “conventional” states such as γNKΣ(1660).  相似文献

We calculate the O(s) virtual corrections to the matrix element for bsγ, taking into account the contributions of the four-Fermi operator O2 and the electromagnetic and color dipole-type operators. The results are combined with existing O(s) Bremsstrahlung corrections in order to obtain the relevant inclusive rate. The new result drastically reduces the large scale dependence of the leading logarithmic approximation. It implies that a very accurate prediction for the branching ratio for BXsγ will become possible once also the corrections to the Wilson coefficients are available.  相似文献

We study the scaling properties of noise reduced Eden clusters in three and four dimensions for variant B in the strip geometry. We find that the width W for large times behaves as a(s)g(L/sd−1), where L is the width of the strip, s the noise reduction parameter, d the dimension of space, and a(s) a decreasing function of s, g is a scaling function with the property g(u)→1/2 as u→0 and g(u)ux as u→∞, where χ is the roughness exponent. This scaling result leads to a new way of determining χ. In 3 dimensions, our numerical values for χ support a recent conjecture by Kim and Kosterlitz: χ = 2/(d + 2), and contradict all the former analytical conjectures. In 4 dimensions, we cannot distinguish between the conjectures of Kim and Kosterlitz and the conjecture of Wolf and Kertész, because large crossovers and finite size effects make the measurement of the exponents difficult.  相似文献

The flavor-changing top-quark decay tch, where h is the lightest CP-even Higgs boson in the minimal supersymmetric standard model, is examined in the R-parity-violating supersymmetric model. Within the existing bounds on the relevant R-parity-violating couplings, the branching fraction for tch can be as large as about 10−5 in some part of the parameter space.  相似文献

We present predictions for flavour-violating charged-lepton decays induced by the seesaw mechanism implemented within the constrained minimal supersymmetric standard model (CMSSM) with universal input soft supersymmetry breaking terms. We assume that one heavy singlet neutrino almost decouples from the seesaw mechanism, as suggested by the pattern of light neutrino masses and mixing angles. This is suggested independently by sneutrino inflation with a low reheating temperature, TRH107 GeV, so as to avoid overproducing gravitinos. This requirement further fixes the mass of the weakly-coupled sneutrino, whose decays may lead to leptogenesis. We find that BR(μ→eγ)10−13 but BR(τ→μγ)10−9 in the bulk of the acceptable parameter space, apart from a few isolated points. The ratio BR(μ→eγ)/BR(τ→eγ) depends on only one complex parameter, and is particularly interesting to compare with experiment.  相似文献

The production rate for η′ in ppppη′ at rest is calculated in a covariant one boson exchange model, previously applied to study π0 and η production in NN collisions. The transition amplitudes for the elementary BN → η′N processes with B being the meson exchanged (B = π, σ, η, , ω and a0) are taken to be the sum of s- and u-channels with a nucleon in the intermediate states, and an a0 meson pole in a t-channel. The couplings of the η′ to hadrons are a factor 0.4 weaker than the respective η-hadron couplings, as suggested by a quark model and a singlet-octet mixing angle θ = −23°. The model reproduces near threshold cross sections for the quasielastic processes πpnη(η′) and ppppη(η′) reactions.  相似文献

We analyze the supersymmetric contributions to direct–CP–violating observables in K→ππγ decays induced by gluino–mediated magnetic–penguin operators. We find that ε′+−γ and the differential width asymmetry of K±→π±π0γ decays could be substantially enhanced with respect to their Standard Model values, especially in the scenario where ε′/ε is dominated by supersymmetric contributions. These observables could therefore provide a useful tool to search for New Physics effects in |ΔS|=1 transitions, complementary to ε′/ε and rare decays.  相似文献

The presence of a light squark (  GeV) and gluino (  GeV) might explain the observed excess in b-quark production at the Tevatron. Though provocative, this model is not excluded by present data. The light supersymmetric particles can induce large flavor-changing effects in radiative decays of B mesons. We analyze the decays BXsγ and BXsg in this scenario and derive restrictive bounds on the flavor-changing quark–squark–gluino couplings.  相似文献

The complete matrix elements for e+e → 4 and e+e → 4fγy are calculated in the Electroweak Standard Model for polarized massless fermions. The matrix elements for all final states are reduced to a few compact generic functions. Monte Carlo generators for e+e → 4f and e+e → 4fγ are constructed. We compare different treatments of the finite widths of the electroweak gauge bosons; in particular, we include a scheme with a complex gauge-boson mass that obeys all Ward identities. The detailed discussion of numerical results comprises integrated cross sections as well as photon-energy distributions for all different final states.  相似文献

Narrow structures in the range of a few MeV have been searched for in ppπ+ and ppπ invariant mass spectra (Mppπ+ and Mppπ) obtained from exclusive measurements of the ppppπ+π reaction at Tp=725,750 and 775 MeV using the PROMICE/WASA detector at CELSIUS. The selected reaction is particularly well suited for the search for dibaryon resonances decoupled from NN and/or NΔ. In the mass range 2020 MeV/c2<mdibaryon<2085 MeV/c2 no narrow structures could be identified on the 3σ level of statistical significance neither in Mppπ nor in Mppπ+ giving an upper limit (95% C.L.) for dibaryon production in this reaction of σ<20 nb.  相似文献

The ppppη and npnpη reactions at energies near the η production threshold are studied in a non-relativistic one boson exchange model, where the N* (1535 MeV) S11 resonance is excited through the exchange of π, η, and ω mesons and subsequently decays into an ηN pair. Energy integrated cross sections and energy spectra of the out going η's are reported. Providing NN and ηN final state interactions are taken into account coherently, the model reproduces both the scale and energy dependence of the cross section for the ppppη reactions up to 100 MeV. Final state interaction corrections due to the nucleon-nucleon and meson-nucleon forces influence strongly the scale and shape of the cross sections. The shape of the energy spectra of the outgoing η's provides a clear signature of the ηN force.  相似文献

We study the effects of an extra U(1)′ gauge boson with flavor changing couplings with fermion mass eigenstates on certain B meson decays that are sensitive to such new physics contributions. In particular, we examine to what extent the current data on Bd→φK and Bd→η′K decays may be explained in such models, concentrating on the example in which the flavor changing couplings are left-chiral. We find that within reasonable ranges of parameters, the Z′ contribution can readily account for the anomaly in SφKS but is not sufficient to explain large branching ratio of Bd→η′K with the same parameter value. SφKS and Sη′KS are seen to be the dominant observables that constrain the extra weak phase in the model.  相似文献

A program to investigate the light scalar resonances a0(980)/ƒ0(980) in hadronic interactions via their decay into the πη and channels has started at the ANKE spectrometer of COSY-Jülich. As the first step the reactions ppdπ+X and ppdK+X have been measured at two energies, Tp = 2.65 GeV and 2.83 GeV. The status of the analysis at Tp = 2.65 GeV is presented. A total cross section of about 50 nb has been determined for the reaction .  相似文献

We evaluate the potential for searching for isosinglet neutral heavy leptons (N), such as right-handed neutrinos, in the next generation of e+e linear colliders, paying special attention to contributions from the various γe→WN initiated by photons from beamstrahlung and laser back-scattering. We find that these mechanisms are both competitive and complementary to the standard e+e→νN annihilation processe for producing neutral heavy leptons in these machines and greatly extends the search range over HERA and LEP200.  相似文献
