The surface structure of the iron oxide nanoparticles obtained by the co-precipitation method has been investigated, and a thin layer of α-FeOOH absorbed on surface of the nanoparticle is confirmed by analyses of Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS) and surface photovoltage spectroscopy (SPS). After annealed at 400 °C, the α-FeOOH can be converted to γ-Fe2O3. The simple-annealed procedure resulted in the formation of Fe3O4@γ-Fe2O3 core/shell structure with improved stability and a higher magnetic saturation value, and also the simple method can be used to obtain core/shell structure in other similar system.  相似文献

In this paper, we report a new route to synthesize novel magnetic hollow silica nanospheres (MHSNs) using polystyrene particles as sacrificial templates, and TEOS and Fe3O4 as precursors. TEM, EDS, XRD, and SQUID were applied to characterize MHSNs. TEM and EDS results show that the MHSNs consist of about 200 nm of hollow cores and ∼35 nm shells with ∼10 nm of Fe3O4 nanoparticles embedded. The polystyrene beads were successfully removed by immersing the as-prepared silica nanocomposite in a toluene solution. XRD results demonstrate that the Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles still keep spinel structure even heated at low temperature. The surface status of the polystyrene beads and Fe3O4 nanoparticles has an important effect on the formation of the MHSNs. The MHSNs present a superparamagnetism at room temperature by SQUID measurement. The MHSNs have potential applications in biosystem and nanomedicine.  相似文献

Iron oxide nanoparticles were synthesized by the thermal decomposition of Fe(acac)3 and Fe(CO)5. Three different homogeneous procedures were used for the controlled synthesis of Fe3O4, γ-Fe2O3 and Fe3O4/γ-Fe2O3 mixture nanocrystals. A combination of characterization techniques was used in order to distinguish these oxides. The controllable size, the narrow distribution and the rhombic self-assembly of the nanoparticles were revealed by the high-resolution transmission electron microscopy images and the X-ray powder diffraction results. For the quantitative analysis of the samples manganometry was used. Preliminary magnetic measurements indicated the size and composition dependence of saturation magnetization, a superparamagnetic behavior of the samples and some ferromagnetic features.  相似文献

Permeability and its upper limitation frequency of superparamagnetic nanoparticle type magneto-dielectric hybrid material were theoretically and experimentally investigated. The Landau-Lifschitz-Gilbert equation without any interaction between nanoparticles revealed that the blocking resonance frequency was able to exceed the ferromagnetic resonance frequency originating from the intrinsic magnetocrystalline anisotropy field by decreasing particle size, resulting in ultra fast switching of superparamagnetic moment in GHz range. In the case of Fe nanoparticles, the blocking resonance frequency can be increased to 130 GHz by reducing particle size to 1 nm. The experiment results for Fe3O4 and Fe nanoparticle assemblies supported the validity of our calculation results. Thus, superparamagnetic nanoparticle assembly could be promising material for high frequency use over 10 GHz range.  相似文献

The magnetic properties of Co-ferrite-doped hydroxyapatite (HAP) nanoparticles of composition Ca10−3xFe2xCox(PO4)6(OH)2 (where x=0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5% mole) are studied. Transmission electron microscope micrograms show that the 90 nm size nanoparticles annealed at 1250 °C have a core/shell structure. Their electron diffraction patterns show that the shell is composed of the hydroxyapatite and the core is composed of the Co-ferrite, CoFe2O4. Electron spin resonance measurements indicate that the Co2+ ions are being substituted into the Ca(1) sites in HAP lattice. X-ray diffraction studies show the formation of impurity phases as higher amounts of the Fe3+/Co2+ ions which are substituted into the HAP host matrix. The presence of two sextets (one for the A-site Fe3+ and the other for the B-site Fe3+) in the Mössbauer spectrum for all the doped samples clearly indicates that the CoFe2O4.cores are in the ferromagnetic state. Evidence of the impurity phases is seen in the appearance of doublet patterns in the Mössbauer spectrums for the heavier-doped (x=0.4 and 0.5) specimens. The decrease in the saturation magnetizations and other magnetic properties of the nanoparticles at the higher doping levels is consistent with some of the Fe3+ and Co2+ which being used to form the CoO and Fe2O3 impurity phase seen in the XRD patterns.  相似文献

Magnetic nanoparticles of magnetite Fe3O4 and Fe synthesized by physical vapor deposition with a fast highly effective method using a solar energy have been studied. Targets have been prepared from tablets pressed from Fe3O4 or Fe powders. Relationships between the structure of nanoparticles and their magnetic properties have been investigated in order to understand principles of the control of the parameters of magnetic nanoparticles. Mössbauer investigations have revealed that the nanoparticles synthesized from tablets of both pure iron and Fe3O4 consist of two phases: pure iron and iron oxides (γ-Fe2O3 and Fe3O4). The high iron oxidability suggests that the synthesized nanoparticles have a core/shell structure, where the core is pure iron and the shell is an oxidized iron layer. Magnetite nanoparticles synthesized at a pressure of 80 Torr have the best parameters for hyperthermia due to their core/shell structure and core-to-shell volume ratio.  相似文献

X-Ray photoelectron spectra of nano-sized superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles were examined with the aim to discriminate the different degree of iron oxidation. Careful analysis of the valence band regions reveals the presence of both Fe3O4 and Fe2O3. The application of factor analysis enabled us to extract the relative molar concentrations of these oxides in the nanoparticles. This is of particular interest in improving the magnetic properties of iron oxide nanoparticles whose superparamagnetic character can be optimized to obtain better contrast in images from nuclear magnetic resonance. As a result, the factor analysis allows tuning the nanoparticle synthesis conditions in order to obtain the optimal magnetic properties for imaging. Results obtained by the XPS valence band analysis were compared to the transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and Raman measurements.  相似文献

The value of the effective magnetic anisotropy constant of the ferrimagnetic nanoparticles Zn0.15Ni0.85Fe2O4 embedded in a SiO2 silica matrix, determined through ferromagnetic resonance (FMR), is much higher than the magnetocrystalline anisotropy constant. The higher value of the anisotropy constant is due to the existence of surface anisotropy. However, even if the magnetic anisotropy is high, the ferrimagnetic nanoparticles with a 15% concentration, which are isolated in a SiO2 matrix, display a superparamagnetic (SPM) behavior at room temperature and at a frequency of the magnetization field equal to 50 Hz. The FMR spectrum of the novel nanocomposite (Zn0.15Ni0.85Fe2O4)0.15/(SiO2)0.85, recorded at room temperature and a frequency of 9.060 GHz, is observed at a resonance field (B0r) of 0.2285 T, which is substantially lower than the field corresponding to free electron resonance (ESR) (0.3236 T). Apart from the line corresponding to the resonance of the nanoparticle system, the spectrum also contains an additional weaker line, identified for a resonance field of ∼0.12 T, which is appreciably lower than B0r. This line was attributed to magnetic ions complex that is in a disordered structure in the layer that has an average thickness of 1.4 nm, this layer being situated on the surface of the Zn0.15Ni0.85Fe2O4 nanoparticles that have a mean magnetic diameter of 8.9 nm.  相似文献

Fe3O4 nanoparticles were hydrothermally synthesized under continuous microwave irradiation from FeCl3·6H2O and FeSO4·7H2O aqueous solutions, using NH4OH as precipitating reagent and N2H4·H2O as oxidation-resistant reagent. The results of X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), FT–IR spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) measurements showed that the synthesized magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles had an average diameter of 10 nm. The magnetic properties of the Fe3O4 nanoparticles were measured using a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), indicating that the nanoparticles possessed high saturation magnetization at room temperature. The Fe3O4 nanoparticles were used to prepare magnetic fluids (MFs) based on water, and the properties of the MFs were characterized by a Gouy magnetic balance, a capillary rheometer and a rotating rheometer, respectively.  相似文献

Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) were synthesized by the co-precipitation of Fe3+ and Fe2+ with ammonium hydroxide. The sodium citrate-modified Fe3O4 MNPs were prepared under Ar protection and were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). To improve the oxidation resistance of Fe3O4 MNPs, a silica layer was coated onto the modified and unmodified MNPs by the hydrolysis of tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) at 50 °C and pH 9. Afterwards, the silica-coated Fe3O4 core/shell MNPs were modified by oleic acid (OA) and were tested by IR and VSM. IR results revealed that the OA was successfully grafted onto the silica shell. The Fe3O4/SiO2 core/shell MNPs modified by OA were used to prepare water-based ferrofluids (FFs) using PEG as the second layer of surfactants. The properties of FFs were characterized using a UV-vis spectrophotometer, a Gouy magnetic balance, a laser particle size analyzer and a Brookfield LVDV-III+ rheometer.  相似文献

In this paper, we wish to present an overview of the research carried out in our laboratories with low-cost transition metal oxides (manganese dioxide, iron oxide and vanadium oxide) as active electrode materials for aqueous electrochemical supercapacitors. More specifically, the paper focuses on the approaches that have been used to increase the capacitance of the metal oxides and the cell voltage of the supercapacitor. It is shown that the cell voltage of an electrochemical supercapacitor can be increased significantly with the use of hybrid systems. The most relevant associations are Fe3O4 or activated carbon as the negative electrode and MnO2 as the positive. The cell voltage of the Fe3O4/MnO2 device is 1.8 V and this value was increased to 2.2 V by using activated carbon instead of Fe3O4. These two systems have shown superior behavior compared to a symmetric MnO2/MnO2 device which only works within a 1 V potential window in aqueous K2SO4. Furthermore, the activated carbon/MnO2 hybrid device exhibits a real power density of 605 W/kg (maximum power density =19.0 kW/kg) with an energy density of 17.3 Wh/kg. These values compete well with those of standard electrochemical double layer capacitors working in organic electrolytes. PACS 82.47.Uv; 82.45.Fk; 82.45.Yz  相似文献

Special sequences of wet-chemical oxidation and etching steps were optimised with respect to the etching behaviour of differently oriented silicon to prepare very smooth silicon interfaces with excellent electronic properties on mono- and poly-crystalline substrates. Surface photovoltage (SPV) and photoluminescence (PL) measurements, atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) investigations were utilised to develop wet-chemical smoothing procedures for atomically flat and structured surfaces, respectively. Hydrogen-termination as well as passivation by wet-chemical oxides were used to inhibit surface contamination and native oxidation during the technological processing. Compared to conventional pre-treatments, significantly lower micro-roughness and densities of surface states were achieved on mono-crystalline Si(100), on evenly distributed atomic steps, such as on vicinal Si(111), on silicon wafers with randomly distributed upside pyramids, and on poly-crystalline EFG (Edge-defined Film-fed-Growth) silicon substrates. The recombination loss at a-Si:H/c-Si interfaces prepared on c-Si substrates with randomly distributed upside pyramids was markedly reduced by an optimised wet-chemical smoothing procedure, as determined by PL measurements. For amorphous-crystalline hetero-junction solar cells (ZnO/a-Si:H(n)/c-Si(p)/Al) with textured c-Si substrates the smoothening procedure results in a significant increase of short circuit current Isc, fill factor and efficiency η. The scatter in the cell parameters for measurements on different cells is much narrower, as compared to conventional pre-treatments, indicating more well-defined and reproducible surface conditions prior to a-Si:H emitter deposition and/or a higher stability of the c-Si surface against variations in the a-Si:H deposition conditions.  相似文献

One of the disadvantages of applying an a-Si:H thin-film transistor (TFT) to an active matrix-addressed liquid crystal (LC) panel is that a TFT with an a-Si:H has a very large photo-leakage current because of the high photo-conductivity of an a-Si:H itself. We have tried decreasing the photo-leakage current by varying the thickness of an a-Si:H layer (L) in TFTs and investigated the characteristics of TFTs, mainly drain voltage versus drain current containing photo-leakage current (I ph).As a result, it is shown that lnI ph is proportional to InL, and its gradient is 1.5–2.0. We assume that the thinner an a-Si:H layer is, the more effective the recombination of carriers at the interface states is forI ph.We have applied TFT with a very thin a-Si:H layer (30nm) to a full-color active matrix-addressed LC panel for a moving picture display and realized a display of good quality under illuminated condition of 5×104lx without a shading layer in it.  相似文献

Two types of core-shell nanoparticles have been prepared by laser pyrolysis using Fe(CO)5 and C2H2 or [(CH3)3Si]2O as precursors and C2H4 as sensitizer. The first type (about 4 nm diameter) - produced by the decomposition of Fe(CO)5 in the presence of C2H4 and C2H2 - consists of Fe cores protected by graphenic layers. The second type (mean particle size of about 14 nm) consists also of Fe cores, yet covered by few nm thick γ-Fe2O3/porous polycarbosiloxane shells resulted from the [(CH3)3Si]2O decomposition and superficial oxidation after air exposure. The hysteresis loops suggest a room temperature superparamagnetic behavior of the Fe-C nanopowder and a weak ferromagnetic one for larger particles in the Fe-Fe2O3-polymer sample. Both types of nanoparticles were finally used as a catalyst for the carbon nanotube growth by seeding Si(100) substrates via drop-casting method. CNTs were grown by Hot-Filament Direct.Current PE CVD technique from C2H2 and H2 at 980 K. It is suggested that the increased density and orientation degree observed for the multiwall nanotubes grown from Fe-Fe2O3-polymer nanoparticles could be due to their magnetic behavior and surface composition.  相似文献

Core–shell Cu/γ‐Fe2O3@C and yolk–shell‐structured Cu/Fe@γ‐Fe2O3@C particles are prepared by a facile synthesis method using copper oxide as template particles, resorcinol‐formaldehyde as the carbon precursor, and iron nitrate solution as the iron source via pyrolysis. With increasing carbonization temperature and time, solid γ‐Fe2O3 cores are formed and then transformed into Fe@γ‐Fe2O3 yolk–shell‐structured particles via Ostwald ripening under nitrogen gas flow. The composition variations are studied, and the formation mechanism is proposed for the generation of the hollow and yolk–shell‐structured metal and metal oxides. Moreover, highly graphitic carbons can be obtained by etching the metal and metal oxide nanoparticles through an acid treatment. The electrocatalytic activity for oxygen reduction reaction is investigated on Cu/γ‐Fe2O3@C, Cu/Fe@γ‐Fe2O3@C, and graphitic carbons, indicating comparable or even superior performance to other Fe‐based nanocatalysts.  相似文献

In this paper,we report on the magnetic properties of Fe3O4 nanoparticles with different grain sizes under different pressures. In all the samples, the saturated magnetization Ms shows a linear decrease with increasing pressure. The thickness of the magnetic dead layer on the nanoparticle surface nuder different pressures was roughly estimated, which also increases with increasing pressure. The transport measurements of the nanoparticle Fe3O4 compacts show that the low-field magnetoresistance (MR) value is insensitive to the grain size in a wide temperature range;however, the high-field MR value is dependent on grain size, especially at low temperatures. These experimental results can be attributed to the different surface states of the nanoparticles.  相似文献

The MW plasma torch (2.45 GHz) in the mixture of CH4/H2/Ar (42/430/1540 sccm) with added Fe(CO)5vapors was used for the synthesis of iron oxide nanoparticles and carbon nanotubes. The particles with well-defined facets consisting of Fe3O4 and -Fe2O3 and self-assembled into long chains were produced at the power of 360 W. At higher power of 440-460 W the deposit contained significant amount of multi-walled carbon nanotubes covered by iron oxide nanoparticles. The diameter of CNTs was 8-20 nm. The particles had Fe3O4 and/or -Fe2O3 cores of spherical shape covered by a thin layer of carbon.  相似文献

Semiconductor nanostructures with narrow band gap were synthesized by means of laser chemical vapor deposition (LCVD) of elements from iron carbonyl vapors [Fe(CO)5] under the action of Ar+ laser radiation (λL = 488 nm) on the Si substrate surface. The temperature dependence of the specific conductivity of these nanostructures in the form of thin films demonstrated typical semiconductor tendency and gave the possibility to calculate the band gap for intrinsic conductivity (Eg) and the band gap assigned for impurities (Ei), which were depended upon film thickness and applied electrical field. Analysis of deposited films with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) demonstrated their cluster structure with average size not more than 100 nm. Semiconductor properties of deposited nanostructures were stipulated with iron oxides in different oxidized phases according to X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis. These deposited nanostructures were irradiated with Q-switched YAG laser (λL = 1064 nm) at power density about 6 × 107 W/cm2. This irradiation resulted in the crystallization process of deposited films on the Si substrate surface. The crystallization process resulted in the synthesis of iron carbide-silicide (FeSi2−xCx) layer with semiconductor properties too. The width of the band gap Eg of the synthesized layer of iron carbide-silicide was less than for deposited films based on iron oxides Fe2O3−x (0 ≤ x ≤ 1).  相似文献

Fe3O4 thin films were prepared successfully by using the rf-sputtering technique with Fe2O3 target. The inverse spinel structure of the film was determined by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and the single phase of the Fe3O4 was confirmed by the XPS measurements. The surface roughness increases with the increase of the partial pressure of hydrogen. A high saturated magnetic field, 5000 Oe, implies that there exist the antiphase boundaries (APBs) in the film. The higher coercive filed below TV is ascribed to the lower symmetry of the monoclinic structure. The temperature dependence of resistance shows a very clear Verwey transition and it is implied that the electrical transport behavior follows the variable-range hopping (VRH) mechanism from 40 to 300 K. The current vs. voltage curves of Fe3O4/Si Schottky heterojunction exhibits good rectifying property. The ideality factor and Schottky barrier height were obtained from the fitting curves calculated by the standard thermionic emission/diffusion model.  相似文献

Hydrogenated silicon (Si:H) film was grown by radio frequency plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) method. The transition between hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) and hydrogenated microcrystalline silicon (μc-Si:H) was characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis. A semiconductor system was used to measure low frequency noise (1/f noise) and random telegraph switching noise of Si:H films. The results show that the 1/f noise of μc-Si:H is 4 orders of magnitude lower than that of a-Si:H and no RTS noise was found in both films. It also shows that using μc-Si:H instead of a-Si:H film as a sensing layer will enable the development of high performance uncooled microbolometer.  相似文献
