Many extensions of the Standard Model includeSU(2) L ×U(1) Y singlet higgs bosons,h 0, and also vector-like fermions which couple to it. The production and detection possibilities of such singlet neutral scalars at hadron colliders are considered for different scenarios of vectorlike fermions. We find that for some values of masses and couplings, detection at the CERN large hadron collider (LHC) appears to be a distinct possibility, while at the Fermilab Tevatron upgrade theh 0 might be observed only in very favourable circumstances.  相似文献

The next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model(NMSSM)more naturally accommodates a Higgs boson with a mass of approximately 125 Ge V than the minimal supersymmetric standard model(MSSM).In this work,we assume that the next-to-lightest CP-even Higgs boson h2 is the SM-like Higgs boson h,whereas the lightest CP-even Higgs boson h_(1)is dominantly singlet-like.We discuss the h_1h_1,h_2h_2,and h_1h_(2)pair production processes via gluon-gluon fusion at the LHC for an collision energy of 14 Te V,and we consider the cases in which one Higgsboson decays to bˉb and the other decays toγγorτ~+τ~-.We find that, for m_(h1) 62 GeV,the cross section of the gg→h_1h_(1)process is relatively large and maximally reaches 5400 fb,and the production rate of the h_1h_1→bˉbτ~+τ~-final state can reach 1500 fb,which make the detection of this final state possible for future searches of an integrated luminosity of 300 and 3000 fb~(-1).This is mainly due to the contributions from the resonant production process pp→h_2→h_1h_(1)and the relatively large branching ratio of h_1→bb and h_1→τ~+τ~-.The cross sections of the pp→h_2h_2and pp→h_1h_2 production processes maximally reach 28 fb and 133 fb,respectively.  相似文献

We study the chiral-odd transversity spin-dependent quark distribution function h1(x) of the nucleon in a constituent quark model. The twist-2 structure functions, f1(x), g1(x) and h1(x) are calculated within the diquark spectator approximation. Whereas an inequality f1(x) > h1(x) > g1(x) holds with the interaction between quark and diquark being scalar, the axial-vector effective quark-diquark interaction, which contributes to the d-quark distribution, does not lead to such a simple relation. We find that h1(x) for the d-quark becomes somewhat smaller than g1d(x), when we fix the model parameter to reproduce known other structure functions. We also include corrections due to the non-trivial structure of the constituent quark, which is modeled by the Goldstone boson dressing. This improves agreements of f1(x) and g1(x) with experiments, and brings further reduction of h1d(x) distribution. Consequences for semi-inclusive experiments are also discussed.  相似文献

An explicit star product ⋆ α Γ on the dual of a general Lie algebra equipped with the linear Poisson bracket is constructed. An equivalence operator between this star product and the Kontsevich star product in [K1] is given and diverse properties of the star product ⋆ α Γ are studied. It is also proved that the star product ⋆ α Γ provides a convergent deformation quantization in the sense of Rieffel [R1].  相似文献

High-spin states of the even-even 116Te were studied by in-beam g-ray spectroscopy using the 103Rh (16O, p2n) fusion-evaporation reaction at a beam energy of 80 MeV. γ-γ coincidence and γ-γ angular correlation analyses were employed for determining the level scheme of 116Te. Levels up to Iπ = 27? and several new states were established. We identified two rotational bands with negative parity, one of which was newly established in the present work. We suggest that such two bands be associated with two proton [(g7/2) ? (h11/2)] and two neutron [(d5/2) ? (h11/2)] configurations, respectively.  相似文献

We consider classical lattice models describing first-order phase transitions, and study the finite-size scaling of the magnetization and susceptibility. In order to model the effects of an actual surface in systems such as small magnetic clusters, we consider models with free boundary conditions. For a field-driven transition with two coexisting phases at the infinite-volume transition pointh=h t , we prove that the low-temperature, finite-volume magnetizationm free(L, h) per site in a cubic volume of sizeL d behaves like $$m_{free} (L,h) = \frac{{m_ + + m_ - }}{2} + \frac{{m_ + - m_ - }}{2}tanh\left[ {\frac{{m_ + - m_ - }}{2}L^d (h - h_\chi (L))} \right] + O\left( {\frac{1}{L}} \right)$$ whereh x (L) is the position of the maximum of the (finite-volume) susceptibility andm ± are the infinite-volume magnetizations ath=h t +0 andh=h t ?0, respectively. We show thath x (L) is shifted by an amount proportional to 1/L with respect to the infinite-volume transition pointh t provided the surface free energies of the two phases at the transition point are different. This should be compared with the shift for periodic boundary conditions, which for an asymmetric transition with two coexisting phases is proportional only to 1/L 2d . One can consider also other definitions of finite-volume transition points, for example, the positionh U (L) of the maximum of the so-called Binder cumulantU free(L,h). Whileh U (L) is again shifted by an amount proportional to 1/L with respect to the infinite-volume transition pointh t , its shift with respect toh χ (L) is of the much smaller order 1/L 2d . We give explicit formulas for the proportionality factors, and show that, in the leading 1/L 2d term, the relative shift is the same as that for periodic boundary conditions.  相似文献

We define a natural class of star products: those which are given by a series of bidifferential operators which at order k in the deformation parameter have at most k derivatives in each argument. This class includes all the standard constructions of star products. We show that any such star product on a symplectic manifold defines a unique symplectic connection. We parametrise such star products, study their invariance properties and give necessary and sufficient conditions for them to have a quantum moment map. We show that Kravchenko's sufficient condition for a moment map for a Fedosov star product is also necessary.  相似文献

We discuss the implications of gauge invariance in the problem of the on-shell extrapolation of the electroproduction low-energy theorems. We show that there is an invariant amplitude which can be evaluated at the Breit threshold either using gauge invariance and on-shell dispersion relations or following the Fubini and Furlan [5] extrapolation method starting from the current-algebra low-energy value of the amplitude. Comparing the two expressions, we find a relation between the electromagnetic pion form factor, Fπ (k2), and the axial-vector nucleon form factors, gA (k2) and hA (k2).  相似文献

We study possible deviations from the Standard Model in the reactionγeZe at a 500 GeVe + e ? collider. As a photon source we use a laser backscattered photon beam. We investigate the most generalγZγ andγZZ vertices including operators up to energy-dimension-six which are Lorentz invariant. These vertices require four extra parameters; two are CP-conserving,h 1 γ andh 1 Z , and two are CP-violating,h 2 γ andh 2 Z . We present analytical expressions of the helicity amplitudes for the processγeZe for arbitrary values of anomalous couplings. Assuming Standard Model values are actually measured we present the allowed region in the (h 1 γ ,h 1 Z ) plane at the 90% confidence level. We then show how the angular correlation of theZ decay products can be used to extract detailed information on the anomalous (especially CP-violating)γZγ andγZZ couplings.  相似文献

We consider the form of the rebound velocity, ν0, particle velocity, ν, and height, h, probability density functions (PDFs) for the one-dimensional motion of a single particle on a sinusoidally oscillating base. The motion is considered in the limit of high excitation (vibration frequency ⪢ collision rate). Experimentally, we find that these PDFs are well-approximated by Pν0(ν0) ∞ ν0 exp(− αν02), a Gaussian Pν(ν) ∞ exp(− αν2) and a Boltzmann-type function Ph(h) ∞ exp(− 2αgh), where α is a constant and g is the acceleration due to gravity. We develop an analytical model which accurately predicts the general form for the rebound velocity PDF; the other two PDFs are then analytically shown to follow as a consequence. Scaling laws for the particle granular temperature with peak base velocity and particle-base restitution coefficient, determined from previous work, can also be predicted from the PDF. A fine scale “spiky” structure in the rebound velocity PDF is found, using numerical simulations, to be a consequence of resonance phenomena between the particle and vibrating base. Good agreement between scaling laws from the theory and simulation is found but insufficient data is obtainable to derive accuracy exponents experimentally.  相似文献

Using the symmetry analysis technique developed in the two earlier papers of this series a study is made of the magnetic structures in spinels (space group O7h). The magnetic structures with the wave vector K = 0 and those with K ≠ 0 are considered in detail. As an example, an analysis is given of the magnetic ordering in MgV2O4 which is characterized by the three-arm star {bdK10} (in Kovalev's notation) and of that in HgCr2S4 where a helical structure corresponding to the star {bdK6} has been found. For each of the three stars we have determined the composition of the magnetic representation and calculated the basis functions of the irreducible representations. For the magnetic structures determined experimentally we have specified the irreducible representations by which these structures should be described. The examples furnished illustrate the typical situations liable to occur when performing symmetry analysis of magnetic structures of crystals.  相似文献

It has been shown by Batyrev and Borisov that nef partitions of reflexive polyhedra can be used to construct mirror pairs of complete intersection Calabi–Yau manifolds in toric ambient spaces. We construct a number of such spaces and compute their cohomological data. We also discuss the relation of our results to complete intersections in weighted projective spaces and try to recover them as special cases of the toric construction. As compared to hypersurfaces, codimension two more than doubles the number of spectra with h11=1. Altogether we find 87 new (mirror pairs of) Hodge data, mainly with h11≤4.  相似文献

Because gamma-ray bursts(GRBs)trace the high-z universe, there is an appreciable probability for a GRB to be gravitational lensed by galaxies in the universe.Herein we consider the gravitational lensing effect of GRBs contributed by the dark matter halos in galaxies.Assuming that all halos have the singular isothermal sphere(SIS)mass profile in the mass range 1010h?1M?M2×1013h?1M?and all GRB samples follow the intrinsic redshift distribution and luminosity function derived from the Swift LGRBs sample,we calculated the gravitational lensing probability in BATSE,Swift/BAT and Fermi/GBM GRBs,respectively. With an derived probability result in BATSE GRBs,we searched for lensed GRB pairs in the BATSE5B GRB Spectral catalog. The search did not find any convincing gravitationally lensed events. We discuss our result and future observations for GRB lensing observation.  相似文献

We consider the statistics of the areas enclosed by domain boundaries (‘hulls’) during the curvature-driven coarsening dynamics of a two-dimensional nonconserved scalar field from a disordered initial state. We show that the number of hulls per unit area, n h (A, t)dA, with enclosed area in the range (A,A + dA), is described, for large time t, by the scaling form n h (A, t) = 2c h /(A + λ h t)2, demonstrating the validity of dynamical scaling in this system. Here $ c_h = {1 \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {1 8}} \right. \kern-0em} 8}\pi \sqrt 3 $ is a universal constant associated with the enclosed area distribution of percolation hulls at the percolation threshold, and λ h is a material parameter. The distribution of domain areas, n d (A, t), is apparently very similar to that of hull areas up to very large values of A h t. Identical forms are obtained for coarsening from a critical initial state, but with c h replaced by c h /2. The similarity of the two distributions (of areas enclosed by hulls, and of domain areas) is accounted for by the smallness of c h . By applying a ‘mean-field’ type of approximation we obtain the form n d (A, t) ? 2c d d (t+t 0)] τ?2/[A d (t+t 0)] τ , where t 0 is a microscopic timescale and τ = 187/91 ? 2.055, for a disordered initial state, and a similar result for a critical initial state but with c d c d /2 and ττ c = 379/187 ? 2.027. We also find that c d = c h + O(c h 2 ) and λ d = λ h (1 + O(c h )). These predictions are checked by extensive numerical simulations and found to be in good agreement with the data.  相似文献

We consider the production and two-photon decay of theCP-even Higgs bosons (h 0 andH 0) of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) at the Large Hadron Collider. We study in detail the dependence of the cross section on various parameters of the MSSM, especially the dependence on the mixing effects in the squark sector due to the Higgs bilinear parameterμ and the soft supersymmetry breaking parameterA. We find that the cross section for the production of these Higgs bosons has a significant dependence on the parameters which determine the chiral mixing in the squark sector. The cross section times the two-photon branching ratio ofh 0 is of the order of 15–25 fb in much of the parameter space that remains after imposing the present experimental constraints. For theH 0 the two-photon branching ratio is only significant if theH 0 is light, but then the cross section times the branching ratio may exceed 200 fb. The QCD corrections due to quark loop contributions are known to increase the cross section by 50%. We find the dependence of the cross section on the gluon distribution function used to be rather insignificant.  相似文献

We examine the frequency dependent conductivity of an exactly soluble model of a random system, the one-dimensional quantum percolation model. Since this system does not fall into the category of weak scattering by the disorder, we do not find the asymptoticω 2ln2(ω/ω 0) behavior suggested by Mott. For systems which are most disordered, we find that the conductivity spectrum consists of discrete levels, while for systems in which the disorder is much less dense, we may use a continuum approximation. The conductivity is then given by anω ?3 cosech (2π/ωτ) law. We speculate that such behavior may be found in mixed valent planar compounds such as K2Pt(CN4)3(H2O) with small amounts of Br or Cl added.  相似文献

By using type Ia supernovae (SNIa) to provide the luminosity distance (LD) directly, which depends on the value of the Hubble constant H0 = 100h km ? s-1 ? Mpc-1, and the angular diameter distance from galaxy clusters or baryon acoustic oscillations (BAOs) to give the derived LD according to the distance duality relation, we propose a model-independent method to determine h from the fact that different observations should give the same LD at a given redshift. Combining the Sloan Digital Sky Survey II (SDSS-II) SNIa from the MLCS2k2 light curve fit and galaxy cluster data, we find that at the 1σ confidence level (CL), h = 0:5867 ± 0:0303 for the sample of the elliptical β model for galaxy clusters, and h = 0:6199 ± 0:0293 for that of the spherical β model. The former is smaller than the values from other observations, whereas the latter is consistent with the Planck result at the 2σ CL and agrees very well with the value reconstructed directly from the H(z) data. With the SDSS-II SNIa and BAO measurements, a tighter constraint, h = 0:6683 ± 0:0221, is obtained. For comparison, we also consider the Union 2.1 SNIa from the SALT2 light curve fitting. The results from the Union 2.1 SNIa are slightly larger than those from the SDSS-II SNIa, and the Union 2.1 SNIa + BAOs give the tightest value. We find that the values from SNIa + BAOs are quite consistent with those from the Planck and the BAOs, as well as the local measurement from Cepheids and very-low-redshift SNIa.  相似文献

We consider semi-classical Schrödinger operator P(h) = ? h 2Δ + V(x) in ${{\mathbb R}^n}$ such that the analytic potential V has a non-degenerate critical point x 0 = 0 with critical value E 0 and we can define resonances in some fixed neighborhood of E 0 when h > 0 is small enough. If the eigenvalues of the Hessian are ${\mathbb Z}$ -independent the resonances in h δ-neighborhood of E 0 (δ > 0) can be calculated explicitly as the eigenvalues of the semi-classical Birkhoff normal form. Assuming that potential is symmetric with respect to reflections about the coordinate axes we show that the classical Birkhoff normal form determines the Taylor series of the potential at x 0. As a consequence, the resonances in a h δ-neighborhood of E 0 determine the first N terms in the Taylor series of V at x 0. The proof uses the recent inverse spectral results of V. Guillemin and A. Uribe.  相似文献

Cosmological constraints on the regenerated abundance of gravitinos as a function of the maximum reheating temperature Th are examined. We combine the bound that arises in order for stable photinos produced by gravitino decays to not overdominate the mass density of the universe together with that inferred from the distortions produced in the cosmic microwave background radiation as well as constraints from the observed deuterium and 3He abundances. This suffices to constrain Th to be below between 1017 and 1010 GeV for gravitions in the mass below ~ 10 TeV. More massive gravitinos, however, could be produced at Th<1014 GeV.  相似文献

We present a spherically symmetric solution of the general relativistic field equations in isotropic coordinates for perfect charged fluid, compatible with a super dense star modeling. The solution is well behaved for all the values of Schwarzschild parameter u lying in the range 0 < u < 0.1727 for the maximum value of charge parameter K = 0.08163. The maximum mass of the fluid distribution is calculated by using stellar surface density as ρ b = 4.6888×1014g cm?3. Corresponding to K = 0.08 and u max = 0.1732, the resulting well behaved solution has a maximum mass M = 0.9324M and radius R = 8.00 and by assuming ρ b = 2×1014g cm?3 the solution results a stellar configuration with maximum mass M = 1.43M and radius R b = 12.25 km. The maximum mass is found increasing with increasing K up to 0.08. The well behaved class of relativistic stellar models obtained in this work might has astrophysical significance in the study of internal structure of compact star such as neutron star or self-bound strange quark star like Her X-1.  相似文献
