Well‐defined polyurethane–polydimethylsiloxane particles of tunable diameter in the range of 0.5–20 μm were synthesized in “one‐shot” by step‐growth polymerization using supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) as a dispersant medium. Polymerizations were carried out at 60 °C and above 25 MPa, after the solubility of each reactant in scCO2 has been determined in its typical reaction concentration. The synthesis of such copolymers was achieved by polyaddition between short aliphatic diols, that is, ethylene glycol, 1,4‐butanediol (BD) or polyethylene oxide (Mn = 200 g mol?1), and tolylene‐1,4‐di‐isocyanate (TDI) in the presence of mono or di‐isocyanate‐terminated polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) as reactive stabilizers and dibutyltin dilaurate as a catalyst. The nature of the diol used as well as the functionality of the reactive stabilizer incorporated was found to have a dramatic effect on the molar mass and the morphology of the resulting product. Thus, copolymers obtained from the polyaddition of BD and TDI in the presence of di‐isocyanate‐terminated PDMS exhibit molar mass up to 90,000 g mol?1. Thermal behaviors of copolymers were also examined by differential scanning calorimetry. All samples exhibited only one glass transition temperature (Tg) and were found to be totally amorphous. A logical decrease of the Tg was observed as the length of the diol incorporated increased, that is, as the density of urethane linkages within the polymer decreased. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Polyoxazolidones having fluorenyl group were synthesized by polyaddition of 9,9‐diglycidyl fluorene with various diisocyanates. The polymer from 9,9‐diglycidyl fluorene and methylenediphenyl 4,4′‐diisocyanate was afforded in high yield although polydispersity of the polymer was found relatively broad. The IR spectrum of the obtained polymer showed two absorption in carbonyl region. One of them was assigned to the expected oxazolidone, while the other at 1710 cm?1 appeared due to a carbonyl group of the isocyanurate moieties produced by cyclotrimerization of isocyanate. It is assumed that the cyclotrimerization would cause the broad polydispersity caused by the branched structure formed by isocyanurate. The polymers obtained with three kinds of diisocyanates (methylenediphenyl 4,4'‐diisocyanate, 1,6‐hexamethylene diisocyanate, 1,4‐phenylene diisocyanate) showed high thermal stability, as their Td10 was depended on the structure of diisocyanate. All polymers had high transparency in a visible region. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Sci., Part A: Polym. Chem. 2014 , 52, 1755–1760  相似文献

A new chiral half‐titanocene complex, [CpTiCl2(O‐(S)?2‐Bu)], is synthesized and characterized by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy. This complex is employed for the coordination polymerization of n‐butyl and n‐hexyl‐ isocyanate leading to chiral polymers, as revealed by their CD spectra. Only the left‐handed helix is produced, due to the chiral (S)?2‐butoxy group, which is bound to the polymer chain end. The polymerization of 3‐(triethoxysilyl)propyl isocyanate produces less soluble polymers. On the other hand, phenyl isocyanate reacts slowly with the complex leading quantitatively and selectively to triphenyl isocyanurate. 2‐Ethylhexyl isocyanate is slowly and selectively cyclotrimerized in the presence of the half‐titanocene complex. However, a statistical copolymer of 2‐ethylhexyl isocyanate and hexyl isocyanate is produced. The reaction of benzyl isocyanate with the complex leads to a mixture of low molecular weight polymer and cyclotrimer. The polymers are characterized using SEC, NMR, and CD spectroscopy and their thermal properties are investigated by TGA/DSC analysis. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Sci., Part A: Polym. The reaction of phenyl isocyanate with phenylglycidyl ether in the presence of various catalysts served as a model reaction for the preparation of poly(oxazolidones). The type of catalyst used determines the mechanism of the oxazolidone synthesis. In addition to the basic product, oxazolidone, side products may be formed, the most frequent of which is the formation of isocyanurates, which depends upon the temperature and the type of catalyst. The most effective epoxide-soluble catalysts evaluated so far in the preparation of oxazolidones were the complex catalyst AlCl3-triphenylphosphine oxide and AlCl3-hexamethylphosphoric triamide. The kinetic study of the oxazolidone formation was carried out by means of HPLC, and the isocyanate and epoxide were separately determined by means of the di-n-butylamine and the perchloric acid methods, respectively. The HPLC method also clearly demonstrated the presence of two isomers, 3-phenyl-5-phenoxymethyloxazolidone-2 and 3-phenyl-4-phenoxymethyloxazolidone-2. The distribution of these isomers, previously reported in the literature, was found to depend upon the temperature and the type of catalyst used.  相似文献

An ordered head‐to‐tail (HT) polyurethane was successfully prepared by the polyaddition reaction of p‐isocyanatobenzyl isocyanate with ethylene glycol with dibutyltin dilaurate as a catalyst. Furthermore, the HT regularity of polyurethane was improved to 83% with 1,1,3,3‐tetraphenyl‐1,3‐dichlorodistannoxane. The polymerization was conducted in N,N‐dimethylformamide at 30 °C with both monomers mixed at once. The microstructure of the polymer was investigated by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy, and the polymer obtained by the polyaddition reaction had the expected HT linkages. The constitutional regularity of the polymers influenced the thermal properties and crystallinity. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J Polym Sci A: Polym Chem 39: 416–429, 2001  相似文献

The use of functional groups bearing silica/poly(styrene‐co‐4‐vinylpyridine) core–shell particles as a support for a zirconocene catalyst in ethylene polymerization was studied. Several factors affecting the behavior of the supported catalyst and the properties of the resulting polymer, such as time, temperature, Al/N (molar ratio), and Al/Zr (molar ratio), were examined. The conditions of the supported catalyst preparation were more important than those of the ethylene polymerization. The state of the supported catalyst itself played a decisive role in both the catalytic behavior of the supported catalyst and the properties of polyethylene (PE). IR and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy were used to follow the formation of the supports. The formation of cationic active species is hypothesized, and the performance of the core–shell‐particle‐supported zirconocene catalyst is discussed as well. The bulk density of the PE formed was higher than that of the polymer obtained from homogeneous and polymer‐supported Cp2ZrCl2/methylaluminoxane catalyst systems. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Combination of coordination polymerization and atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) was applied to a novel synthesis of rod‐coil block copolymers. The procedure included the following steps: (1) monoesterification reaction of ethylene glycol with 2‐bromoisobutyryl bromide yielded a α‐bromo, ω‐hydroxy bifunctional initiator, (2) CpTiCl3 (bifunctional initiator) catalyst was prepared from a mixture of trichlorocyclopentadienyl titanium (CpTiCl3) and bifunctional initiator. Coordination polymerization of n‐butyl isocyanate initiated by such catalyst provided a well‐defined macroinitiator, poly(n‐butyl isocyanate)‐Br (PBIC‐Br), and (3) ATRP method of vinyl monomers using PBIC‐Br provided rod (PBIC)‐coil block copolymers. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The stereoselective epoxidation of styrene was catalyzed by H2O2‐dependent cytochrome P450SPα in the presence of carboxylic acids as decoy molecules. The stereoselectivity of styrene oxide could be altered by the nature of the decoy molecules. In particular, the chirality at the α‐positions of the decoy molecules induced a clear difference in the chirality of the product: (R)‐ibuprofen enhanced the formation of (S)‐styrene oxide, whereas (S)‐ibuprofen preferentially afforded (R)‐styrene oxide. The crystal structure of an (R)‐ibuprofen‐bound cytochrome P450SPα (resolution 1.9 Å) revealed that the carboxylate group of (R)‐ibuprofen served as an acid–base catalyst to initiate the epoxidation. A docking simulation of the binding of styrene in the active site of the (R)‐ibuprofen‐bound form suggested that the orientation of the vinyl group of styrene in the active site agreed with the formation of (S)‐styrene oxide.  相似文献

Poly(sodium(2‐sulfamate‐3‐carboxylate)isoprene)‐b‐poly(ethylene oxide) and poly(ethylene oxide)‐b‐poly(sodium(2‐sulfamate‐1‐carboxylate)isoprene)‐b‐poly(ethylene oxide) double hydrophilic block copolymers were prepared by selective post polymerization reaction of the polyisoprene block, of poly(isoprene‐b‐ethylene oxide) diblocks or poly(ethylene oxide‐b‐isoprene‐b‐ethylene oxide) triblock precursors, with N‐chlorosulfonyl isocyanate. The precursors were synthesized by anionic polymerization high vacuum techniques and had narrow molecular weight distributions and predictable molecular weights and compositions. The resulting double hydrophilic block copolymers were characterized by FTIR and potentiometric titrations in terms of the incorporated functional groups. Their properties in aqueous solutions were studied by viscometry and dynamic light scattering. The latter techniques revealed a complex dilute solution behavior of the novel block copolymers, resulting from the polyelectrolyte character of the functionalized PI block and showing a dependence on solution ionic strength and pH. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Homogeneous tandem catalysis of the bis(diphenylphoshino)amine‐chromium oligomerization catalyst with the metallocenes Ph2C(Cp)(9‐Flu)ZrCl2 and rac‐EtIn2ZrCl2, is discussed. GC, CRYSTAF, and 13C NMR analysis of the products obtained from reactions at constant temperatures show that during tandem catalysis, α‐olefins, mainly 1‐hexene and 1‐octene, are produced from ethylene by the oligomerization catalyst and subsequently built into the polyethylene chain. At 40 °C the Cr/PNP catalyst acts as a tetramerization catalyst while the polymerization catalyst activity is low. Copolymerization of ethylene and the in situ produced α‐olefins have also been carried out by increasing the temperature from 40 °C, where primarily oligomerization takes place, to above 100 °C, where polymerization becomes dominant. The melting temperature of the polymer is dependent on the catalyst and cocatalyst ratios as well as on the temperature gradient followed during the reaction, while the presence of the oligomerization catalyst reduces the activity of the polymerization catalyst. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A well‐defined amphiphilic copolymer brush with poly(ethylene oxide) as the main chain and polystyrene as the side chain was successfully prepared by a combination of anionic polymerization and atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). The glycidol was first protected by ethyl vinyl ether to form 2,3‐epoxypropyl‐1‐ethoxyethyl ether and then copolymerized with ethylene oxide by the initiation of a mixture of diphenylmethylpotassium and triethylene glycol to give the well‐defined polymer poly(ethylene oxide‐co‐2,3‐epoxypropyl‐1‐ethoxyethyl ether); the latter was hydrolyzed under acidic conditions, and then the recovered copolymer of ethylene oxide and glycidol {poly(ethylene oxide‐co‐glycidol) [poly(EO‐co‐Gly)]} with multiple pending hydroxymethyl groups was esterified with 2‐bromoisobutyryl bromide to produce the macro‐ATRP initiator [poly(EO‐co‐Gly)(ATRP). The latter was used to initiate the polymerization of styrene to form the amphiphilic copolymer brushes. The object products and intermediates were characterized with 1H NMR, matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionization time‐of‐flight mass spectrometry, Fourier transform infrared, and size exclusion chromatography in detail. In all cases, the molecular weight distribution of the copolymer brushes was rather narrow (weight‐average molecular weight/number‐average molecular weight < 1.2), and the linear dependence of ln[M0]/[M] (where [M0] is the initial monomer concentration and [M] is the monomer concentration at a certain time) on time demonstrated that the styrene polymerization was well controlled. This method has universal significance for the preparation of copolymer brushes with hydrophilic poly(ethylene oxide) as the main chain. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Tandem catalysis offers a promising synthetic route to the production of linear low‐density polyethylene. This article reports the use of homogeneous tandem catalytic systems for the synthesis of ethylene/1‐hexene copolymers from ethylene stock as the sole monomer. The reported catalytic systems employ the tandem action between an ethylene trimerization catalyst, (η5‐C5H4CMe2C6H5)TiCl3 ( 1 )/modified methylaluminoxane (MMAO), and a copolymerization metallocene catalyst, [(η5‐C5Me4)SiMe2(tBuN)]TiCl2 ( 2 )/MMAO or rac‐Me2Si(2‐MeBenz[e]Ind)2ZrCl2 ( 3 )/MMAO. During the reaction, 1 /MMAO in situ generates 1‐hexene with high activity and high selectivity, and simultaneously 2 /MMAO or 3 /MMAO copolymerizes ethylene with the produced 1‐hexene to generate butyl‐branched polyethylene. We have demonstrated that, by the simple manipulation of the catalyst molar ratio and polymerization conditions, a series of branched polyethylenes with melting temperatures of 60–128 °C, crystallinities of 5.4–53%, and hexene percentages of 0.3–14.2 can be efficiently produced. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Summary: A tandem catalytic system, composed of (η5‐C5H4CMe2C6H5)TiCl3 ( 1 )/MMAO (modified methyl aluminoxane) and [(η5‐C5Me4)SiMe2(tBuN)]TiCl2 ( 2 )/MMAO, was applied for the synthesis of ethylene–hex‐1‐ene copolymers with ethylene as the only monomer stock. During the reaction, 1 /MMAO trimerized ethylene to hex‐1‐ene, while 2 /MMAO copolymerized ethylene with the in situ produced hex‐1‐ene to poly(ethylene–hex‐1‐ene). By changing the catalyst ratio and reaction conditions, a series of copolymer grades with different hex‐1‐ene fractions at high purity were effectively produced.

MoOCl2(LOMe) as catalyst, where LOMe is CpCo[P(O)(OMe)2]3, reacts with p‐tolyl isocyanate to afford the title compound, C23H23N3O2. The structural features are the intramolecular hydrogen bond forming a six‐membered ring and a nearly planar arrangement of the biuret moiety. Each p‐tolyl phenyl ring is twisted by approximately 60–80° with respect to the others. The bond lengths N1—C22 of 1.357 (3) Å and N2—C23 of 1.333 (3) Å indicate that they are partial double bonds.  相似文献

We report the synthesis of the novel half‐titanocene alkoxide complex bischloro‐η5‐cyclopentadienyl(bicyclo[2.2.1]‐hept‐5‐en‐2‐oxy) titanium (IV), [CpTiCl2(O‐NBE)]. This complex was employed for the synthesis of chiral poly(l ‐lactide‐b‐hexyl isocyanate) diblock copolymer bearing a norbornene end group with sequential addition of monomers. The poly(hexyl isocyanate) block is chiral due to the last l ‐lactide unit of the poly(l ‐lactide) block. This macromonomer was polymerized towards a chiral polymer brush structure with polynorbornene backbone and chiral poly(l ‐lactide‐b‐hexyl isocyanate) side chains using Grubbs first‐generation catalyst. The polymers were characterized using size exclusion chromatography (SEC), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy and their thermal properties were investigated by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Biodegradable, amphiphilic, four‐armed poly(?‐caprolactone)‐block‐poly(ethylene oxide) (PCL‐b‐PEO) copolymers were synthesized by ring‐opening polymerization of ethylene oxide in the presence of four‐armed poly(?‐caprolactone) (PCL) with terminal OH groups with diethylzinc (ZnEt2) as a catalyst. The chemical structure of PCL‐b‐PEO copolymer was confirmed by 1H NMR and 13C NMR. The hydroxyl end groups of the four‐armed PCL were successfully substituted by PEO blocks in the copolymer. The monomodal profile of molecular weight distribution by gel permeation chromatography provided further evidence for the four‐armed architecture of the copolymer. Physicochemical properties of the four‐armed block copolymers differed from their starting four‐armed PCL precursor. The melting points were between those of PCL precursor and linear poly(ethylene glycol). The length of the outer PEO blocks exhibited an obvious effect on the crystallizability of the block copolymer. The degree of swelling of the four‐armed block copolymer increased with PEO length and PEO content. The micelle formation of the four‐armed block copolymer was examined by a fluorescent probe technique, and the existence of the critical micelle concentration (cmc) confirmed the amphiphilic nature of the resulting copolymer. The cmc value increased with increasing PEO length. The absolute cmc values were higher than those for linear amphiphilic block copolymers. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Well‐defined ω‐cholesteryl poly(n‐hexyl isocyanate) (PHIC–Chol), as well as diblock copolymers of n‐hexyl isocyanate (HIC) with styrene, PS‐b‐PHIC [PS = polystyrene; PHIC = poly(n‐hexyl isocyanate)], and triblock terpolymers with styrene and isoprene, PS‐b‐PI‐b‐PHIC and PI‐b‐PS‐b‐PHIC (PI = polyisoprene), were synthesized with CpTiCl2(OR) (R = cholesteryl group, PS, or PS‐b‐PI) complexes. The synthetic strategy involved the reaction of the precursor complex CpTiCl3 with cholesterol or the suitable ω‐hydroxy homopolymer or block copolymer, followed by the polymerization of HIC. The ω‐hydroxy polymers were prepared by the anionic polymerization of the corresponding monomers and the reaction of the living chains with ethylene oxide. The reaction sequence was monitored by size exclusion chromatography, and the final products were characterized by size exclusion chromatography (light scattering and refractive‐index detectors), nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and, in the case of PHIC–Chol, differential scanning calorimetry. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The epoxidation of ethylene with N2O over the metal‐organic framework Fe–BTC (BTC=1,3,5‐benzentricarboxylate) is investigated by means of density functional calculations. Two reaction paths for the production of ethylene oxide or acetaldehyde are systematically considered in order to assess the efficiency of Fe–BTC for the selective formation of ethylene oxide. The reaction starts with the decomposition of N2O to form an active surface oxygen atom on the Fe site of Fe–BTC, which subsequently reacts with an ethylene molecule to form an ethyleneoxy intermediate. This intermediate can then be selectively transformed either by 1,2‐hydride shift into the undesired product acetaldehyde or into the desired product ethylene oxide by way of ring closure of the intermediate. The production of ethylene oxide requires an activation energy of 5.1 kcal mol?1, which is only about one‐third of the activation energy of acetaldehyde formation (14.3 kcal mol?1). The predicted reaction rate constants for the formation of ethylene oxide in the relevant temperature range are approximately 2–4 orders of magnitude higher than those for acetaldehyde. Altogether, the results suggest that Fe–BTC is a good candidate catalyst for the epoxidation of ethylene by molecular N2O.  相似文献

Complexation between (O ‐methyl)6‐2,6‐helic[6]arene and a series of tertiary ammonium salts was described. It was found that the macrocycle could form stable complexes with the tested aromatic and aliphatic tertiary ammonium salts, which were evidenced by 1H NMR spectra, ESI mass spectra, and DFT calculations. In particular, the binding and release process of the guests in the complexes could be efficiently controlled by acid/base or chloride ions, which represents the first acid/base‐ and chloride‐ion‐responsive host–guest systems based on macrocyclic arenes and protonated tertiary ammonium salts. Moreover, the first 2,6‐helic[6]arene‐based [2]rotaxane was also synthesized from the condensation between the host–guest complex and isocyanate.  相似文献

Dihydrophilic block copolymers of poly(ethylene oxide)‐b‐polyglycidol were prepared and polyglycidol blocks converted into ionic blocks containing  OP(O)(OH)2,  COOH, or  SO3H groups. Although phosphorylation of polyhydroxy compounds with POCl3 usually leads to insoluble products, phosphorylation of poly(ethylene oxide)‐b‐polyglycidol using a POCl3/ OH ratio equal to 1/1 gave soluble products, predominantly monoester of phosphoric acid (after hydrolysis) (provided that the reaction was conducted in triethyl phosphate as solvent). All copolymers were characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and/or 31P NMR spectra for confirming their structure. The degree of substitution was determined from quantitative 13C NMR spectroscopy (inverted‐gate decoupling‐acquisition mode). Preliminary results indicate that from these three groups of block copolymers the phosphoric acid esters are the most effective ones at least in controlling the growth of CaCO3 crystals in aqueous solution. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
