We discuss Cahn’s time cone method modelling phase transformation kinetics. The model equation by the time cone method is an integral equation in the space-time region. First, we reduce it to a system of hyperbolic equations, and in the case of odd spatial dimensions, the reduced system is a multiple hyperbolic equation. Next, we propose a numerical method for such a hyperbolic system. By means of alternating direction implicit methods, numerical simulations for practical forward problems are implemented with satisfactory accuracy and efficiency. In particular, in the three dimensional case, our numerical method on the basis of reduced multiple hyperbolic equation is fast.  相似文献

A hyperbolic polynomial is very hyperbolic if it has hyperbolic primitives of all orders. We consider the class of hyperbolic 3-orbifolds whose underlying topological space is the 3-sphere S 3 and whose singular set is a trivalent graph with singular index 2 along each edge (an important special case occurs when the trivalent graph is the 1-skeleton of a hyperbolic polyhedron). Our main result is a classification of the D-branched coverings of these orbifolds (where D2 is the dihedral group of order 4) under some general conditions on their isometry groups or the lengths of their geodesics.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider Carleman-type estimate and consider an inverse problem for second order hyperbolic systems in an anisotropic case. In the previous Part I paper, we established a Carleman-type estimate for hyperbolic systems in which the coefficient matrices satisfy suitable conditions. We apply a Carleman estimate in the previous Part I paper to an inverse source problem for second-order hyperbolic systems in an anisotropic case and prove an estimate of the Hölder type.  相似文献

In this paper we adopt the hyperboloid in Minkowski space asthe model of hyperbolic space. We define the hyperbolic Gaussmap and the hyperbolic Gauss indicatrix of a hypersurface inhyperbolic space. The hyperbolic Gauss map has been introducedby Ch. Epstein [J. Reine Angew. Math. 372 (1986) 96–135]in the Poincaré ball model, which is very useful forthe study of constant mean curvature surfaces. However, it isvery hard to perform the calculation because it has an intrinsicform. Here, we give an extrinsic definition and we study thesingularities. In the study of the singularities of the hyperbolicGauss map (indicatrix), we find that the hyperbolic Gauss indicatrixis much easier to calculate. We introduce the notion of hyperbolicGauss–Kronecker curvature whose zero sets correspond tothe singular set of the hyperbolic Gauss map (indicatrix). The family of three-level fifth-order time integrators are considered for hyperbolic, parabolic PDEs and stiff ODEs. They are classified into two parts depending on positivity or negativity of the operators corresponding to the second time derivatives. Two options are presented for hyperbolic equations. Stability analysis is performed for linear cases. It is shown that the scheme for ODEs can be nearly A-stable and nearlyL -stable for particular values of its free parameter. The aim of this paper is to give an uniform approach to different kinds of degenerate hyperbolic Cauchy problems. We prove that a weakly hyperbolic equation, satisfying an intermediate condition between effective hyperbolicity and the C Levi condition, and a strictly hyperbolic equation with non-regular coefficients with respect to the time variable can be reduced to first-order systems of the same type. For such a kind of systems, we prove an energy estimate in Sobolev spaces (with a loss of derivatives) which gives the well-posedness of the Cauchy problem in C. In the strictly hyperbolic case, we also construct the fundamental solution and we describe the propagation of the space singularities of the solution which is influenced by the non-regularity of the coefficients with respect to the time variable.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to initial boundary value problems for quasi-linear symmetric hyperbolic systems in a domain with characteristic boundary. It extends the theory on linear symmetric hyperbolic systems established by Friedrichs to the nonlinear case. The concept on regular characteristics and dissipative boundary conditions are given for quasilinear hyperbolic systems. Under some assumptions, an existence theorem for such initial boundary value problems is obtained. For a conformally compact manifold that is hyperbolic near infinity and of dimension n + 1, we complete the proof of the optimal O(r n+1) upper bound on the resonance counting function, correcting a mistake in the existing literature. In the case of a compactly supported perturbation of a hyperbolic manifold, we establish a Poisson formula expressing the regularized wave trace as a sum over scattering resonances. Necessary and sufficient conditions are obtained for the boundedness of Berezin transformation on Lebesgue space Lp(B, dVβ) in the real unit ball B in Rn. As an application, we prove that Gleason type problem is solvable in hyperbolic harmonic Bergman spaces. In this paper we extend to the hyperbolic space results firstly obtainedin Podestà and Spiro (Ann. Global Anal. Geom. 13(2) (1995), 169–184) for compact cohomogeneity, Riemannian manifoldsimmersed as hypersurfaces of the Euclidean space and in Seixas(Ph.D. Thesis, 1996), wherethe complete case was studied. Both works give sufficient conditionsfor the hypersurface to be of revolution. We study cohomogeneity, complete hypersurfaces of the hyperbolic space and prove a similar resultof Seixas (Ph.D. Thesis, 1996), obtaining also a class of nonrotational examples.  相似文献

In this paper, we give analogue of Jörgensen's inequality for nonelementary groups of isometries of complex hyperbolic 2-space generated by two elements, one of which is either loxodromic or boundary elliptic for the same group of isometries of quaternionic hyperbolic 2-space.
