In this paper, two theorems about the compactness of almost invariant operators on homogeneous Banach spaces of distributions (in the sense of Feichtinger [11]) defined on a locally compact abelian group are proved. We introduce and study almost compactness for fuzzy topological spaces. We show that the almost continuous image of an almost compact fuzzy topological space is almost compact. Moreover, we show that generally almost compactness for fuzzy topological spaces is not product-invariant, but if X and Y are almost fuzzy topological spaces and X is product related to Y, then their fuzzy topological product is almost compact. 相似文献

ABSTRACT The purpose of this paper is to investigate pairwise almost compact bitopological spaces. These spaces satisfy a bitopological compactness criterion which is strictly weaker than pairwise C-compactness and is independent of other well-known bitopological compactness notions. Pairwise continuous maps from such spaces to pairwise Hausdorff spaces are pairwise almost closed, the property is invariant under suitably continuous maps, is inherited by regularly closed subspaces and may be characterized in terms of certain covers as well as the adherent convergence of certain open filter bases. Some new natural bitopological separation axioms are introduced and in conjunction with pairwise almost compactness yield interesting results, including a sufficient condition for the bitopological complete separation of disjoint regularly closed sets by semi-continuous functions. 相似文献

We introduce and study Hodge–de Rham numbers for compact almost complex 4-manifolds, generalizing the Hodge numbers of a complex surface. The main properties of these numbers in the case of complex surfaces are extended to this more general setting, and it is shown that all Hodge–de Rham numbers for compact almost complex 4-manifolds are determined by the topology, except for one (the irregularity). Finally, these numbers are shown to prohibit the existence of complex structures on certain manifolds, without reference to the classification of surfaces. 相似文献

The concept of quasi-continuity and the new concept of almost compactness for a function are the basis for the extension of the contraction principle in large deviations presented here. Important equivalences for quasi-continuity are proved in the case of metric spaces. The relation between the exponential tightness of a sequence of stochastic processes and the exponential tightness of its transform (via an almost compact function) is studied here in metric spaces. Counterexamples are given to the nonmetric case. Relations between almost compactness of a function and the goodness of a rate function are studied. Applications of the main theorem are given, including to an approximation of the stochastic integral. 相似文献
