An analytical solution is derived for the problem of a nonuniformly coated circular inclusion in an unbounded matrix under anti-plane deformations. The inclusion/interphase/matrix system is subject to (1) remote uniform shear and uniform eigenstrain imposed on the circular inclusion, and (2) a screw dislocation or a point force in the matrix. It is found that the varying interphase thickness will exert a significant influence on the nonuniform stress field within the circular inclusion, and on the direction and magnitude of the image force acting on a screw dislocation. In the course of development, it is found that the presence of certain coated inclusions, which are termed stealth, will not cause change of elastic energy in the body. The derived analytical solution for a screw dislocation is then employed as Green’s function to investigate a radial matrix crack interacting with the nonuniformly coated inclusion. The numerical results show that the varying interphase thickness will also affect the stress intensity factors.

The problem of the elastic interaction between a screw dislocation and a three-phase circular inclusion with interracial rigid lines (anti-cracks) is investigated. An efficient and concise method for the complex multiply connected region is developed, with which explicit series form solutions of the complex potentials in the matrix, and the interphase layer and inclusion regions are derived. Based on the complex potentials, the image force on the screw dislocation is then calculated by using the Peach-Koehler formula. The equilibrium position of the dislocation is discussed in detail for various rigid line geometries, interphase layer thicknesses and material property combinations. The main results show that the interracial rigid lines exert a significant perturbation effect on the motion of the screw dislocation near the circular inclusion surrounded by an interphase layer.  相似文献

This research presents an analytical study of the interaction problem of an edge dislocation with a circular inclusion with a circumferentially inhomogeneously imperfect interface. The interface, which is modeled as a spring (interphase) layer with vanishing thickness, is characterized by that in which there is a displacement jump across the interface in the same direction as the corresponding tractions, and the same degree of imperfection is realized in both the normal and tangential directions. Furthermore, the interface parameter is nonuniform along the interface. In order to arrive at an elementary form solution, we introduce a conformal mapping function. Then the stress field as well as the Peach–Koehler force acting on the edge dislocation can be obtained from the derived complex potentials. Calculations demonstrate that the nonuniform interface parameter has a significant influence on the stress field.  相似文献

The interaction between a piezoelectric screw dislocation and an interphase layer in piezoelectric solids is theoretically investigated. Here, the dislocation located at arbitrary points inside either the matrix or the inclusion and the interfaces of the interphase layer are imperfect.By the complex variable method, the explicit solutions to the complex potentials are given, and the electroelastic fields can be derived from them. The image force acting on the dislocation can be obtained by the generalized PeachKoehler formula. The motion of the piezoelectric screw dislocation and its equilibrium positions are discussed for variable parameters. The important results show that,if the inner interface of the interphase layer is imperfect and the magnitude of degree of the interface imperfection reaches the certain value, two equilibrium positions of the piezoelectric screw dislocation in the matrix near the interface are found for the certain material combination which has never been observed in the previous studies(without considering the interface imperfection).  相似文献

Classical plane solutions of the theory of elasticity, which are sometimes more than 100 years old, are still used today and provide a framework for the analysis of many practical problems. But, strictly speaking, these analytical solutions are only applicable to plates with vanishing thickness or infinite thickness, where the stress state could be classified as plane stress or plane strain, respectively. However, the through-the-thickness stresses that exist in a plate of given thickness have a significant impact in a number of practical applications; and these stresses are often inevitably ignored due to the lack of analytical tools. This paper presents new analytical results for crack tip opening displacement (CTOD) for the through-the-thickness crack in infinite plates with various thicknesses. These results are based on the solution for an edge dislocation in infinite plate of arbitrary thickness and an application of the distributed dislocation technique. The analytical predictions of the CTOD and the constraint factor are compared with the three-dimensional elasto-plastic finite element (FE) results. It is shown that both analytical and numerical results are in good agreement when the numerical calculations are not affected by the size of the FE mesh and by the boundaries of the FE model.  相似文献

The electro-elastic stress field due to a piezoelectric screw dislocation near the tip of a wedge-shaped bi-material interface is derived. The screw dislocation is subjected to a line charge and a line force at the core. The explicit closed-form analytical solutions for the stress field are derived by means of the complex variable and conformal mapping methods. The stress and electric intensity factors of the wedge tip induced by the dislocation and the image force acting on the dislocation are also formulated and calculated. The influence of the wedge angle and the different bi-material constant combinations on the image force is discussed. Numerical results for three particular wedge angles are calculated and compared.  相似文献

The complex variable method is employed to derive analytical solutions for the interaction between a piezoelectric screw dislocation and a Kelvin-type viscoelastic piezoelectric bimaterial interface. Through analytical continuation, the original boundary value problem can be reduced to an inhomogeneous first-order partial differential equation for a single function of location z = x + iy and time t defined in the lower half-plane, which is free of the screw dislocation. Once the initial, steady-state and far-field conditions are known, the solution to the first order differential equation can be obtained. From the solved function, explicit expressions are then derived for the stresses, strains, electric fields and electric displacements induced by the piezoelectric screw dislocation. Also presented is the image force acting on the screw dislocation due to its interaction with the Kelvin-type viscoelastic interface. The derived solutions are verified by comparing with existing solutions for the simplified cases, and various interesting features are observed, particularly for those associated with the image force.  相似文献

A numerical procedure is presented for the analysis of the elastic field due to an edge dislocation in a multilayered composite. The multilayered composite consists of n perfectly bonded layers having different material properties and thickness, and two half-planes adhere to the top and bottom layers. The stiffness matrices for each layer and the half-planes are first derived in the Fourier transform domain, then a set of global stiffness equations is assembled to solve for the transformed components of the elastic field. Since the singular part of the elastic field corresponding to the dislocation in the full-plane has been extracted from the transformed components, regular numerical integration is needed only to evaluate the inverse Fourier transform. Numerical results for the elastic field due to an edge dislocation in a bimaterial medium are shown in fairly good agreement with analytical solutions. The elastic field and the Peach–Kohler image force are also presented for an edge dislocation in a single layered half-plane, a two-layered half-plane and a multilayered composite made of alternating layers of two different materials.  相似文献

This paper presents a novel efficient procedure to analyze the two-phase confocally elliptical inclusion embedded in an unbounded matrix under antiplane loadings. The antiplane loadings considered in this paper include a point force and a screw dislocation or a far-field antiplane shear. The analytical continuation method together with an alternating technique is used to derive the general forms of the elastic fields in terms of the corresponding problem subjected to the same loadings in a homogeneous body. This approach could lead to some interesting simplifications in solution procedures, and the derived analytical solution for singularity problems could be employed as a Green's function to investigate matrix cracking in the corresponding crack problems. Several specific solutions are provided in closed form, which are verified by comparison with existing ones. Numerical results are provided to show the effect of the material mismatch, the aspect ratio, and the loading condition on the elastic field due to the presence of inhomogeneities.  相似文献

On the screw dislocation in a functionally graded material   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0
This paper presents the stress field of a screw dislocation in a medium graded in y-direction. The medium is exponentially graded. For such a graded material theories of elasticity as well as gradient elasticity are applied. By means of the stress function technique we found exact analytical solutions of the corresponding master equations. Using the stress field, the Peach–Koehler force is given. The axial symmetry of a screw dislocation is lost due to the gradation in the y-direction.  相似文献

Based on the complex variable method and perturbation technique, an analytical closed-form solution is derived for the interaction between a screw dislocation and collinear rigid lines along the interface of two dissimilar piezoelectric media under remote anti-plane mechanical and in-plane electrical loading. The rigid lines are either conducting or dielectric. The dislocation core is subjected to a line-force and a line-charge. A square-root singularity of field variables near the tip of an interfacial rigid line is observed. The rigid line extension force acting on the tip is obtained in terms of the strain and electric field intensity factor. The force on the dislocation due to the interfacial rigid line is calculated. The influence of the angular position of the dislocation, material properties and electromechanical coupling factor on the force is studied in detail.  相似文献

This paper presents an analytical solution for plane elasticity problems of an elliptically cylindrical layered media subject to an arbitrary edge dislocation. Based on the technique of conformal mapping and the method of analytical continuation in conjunction with the alternating technique, the general expressions of the displacements and stresses, where an edge dislocation is located in matrix, coating layer and inclusion are obtained. The numerical results of image forces exerted on a generalized edge dislocation are carried out by using the generalized Peach–Koehler equation. As a numerical illustration, both the image forces and equilibrium positions are presented for different material combinations and relative thickness of a coating layer. The result shows that the thickness and the shear modulus of the coating layer have a strong influence on the stability of dislocation.  相似文献

The interaction problem between a screw dislocation and a piezoelectric fiber composite with a semi-infinite wedge crack is investigated in this paper. The piezoelectric media are assumed to be transversely isotropic with the poling direction along the x 3 direction. The screw dislocation considered here involves a Burgers vector parallel to the poling direction with a line force and a line charge being applied at the core of the dislocation. Both cases of the screw dislocation located at the matrix and inclusion are observed. The analytical derivation is based on the complex variable and the conformal mapping methods. The exact solutions are obtained to calculate the forces on the dislocation and the crack-tip stress and electric displacement intensity factors. Based on these results, the anti-shielding and shielding effects for different loadings, material combinations, and geometric configurations are discussed in detail.  相似文献

This paper considers the analytical and semi-analytical solutions for anisotropic functionally graded magneto-electro-elastic beams subjected to an arbitrary load, which can be expanded in terms of sinusoidal series. For the generalized plane stress problem, the stress function, electric displacement function and magnetic induction function are assumed to consist of two parts, respectively. One is a product of a trigonometric function of the longitudinal coordinate (x) and an undetermined function of the thickness coordinate (z), and the other a linear polynomial of x with unknown coefficients depending on z. The governing equations satisfied by these z-dependent functions are derived. The analytical expressions of stresses, electric displacements, magnetic induction, axial force, bending moment, shear force, average electric displacement, average magnetic induction, displacements, electric potential and magnetic potential are then deduced, with integral constants determinable from the boundary conditions. The analytical solution is derived for beam with material coefficients varying exponentially along the thickness, while the semi-analytical solution is sought by making use of the sub-layer approximation for beam with an arbitrary variation of material parameters along the thickness. The present analysis is applicable to beams with various boundary conditions at the two ends. Two numerical examples are presented for validation of the theory and illustration of the effects of certain parameters.  相似文献

Based on the single-dislocation Green’s function, analytical solutions of the elastic fields due to dislocation arrays in an anisotropic bimaterial system are derived by virtue of the Cottrell summation formula. The singularity in the Peach–Koehler (P–K) force is removed by both rigorous mathematical approach and physical energy consideration. Numerical results for dislocation arrays in the Cu/Nb bimaterial with Kurdjumov–Sachs (K–S) orientation show that: (1) the traction continuity and periodic condition are both satisfied; (2) the maximum magnitude of the traction at the interface due to a mixed dislocation array is smaller than that due to a single mixed dislocation. In other words, the traction at the interface could be suppressed by the corresponding array with a relatively high density (L < 10 nm); however, the shear stress on the glide plane increases with increasing dislocation density; (3) the Cu/Nb interface attracts the mixed dislocation array in copper and repels the screw one there. This implies that the P–K force depends not only on the material properties, but also on the crystal orientation and the type of Burgers vector, among others.  相似文献
