A subgroup $H$ of a finite group $G$ is weakly-supplemented in $G$ if there exists a proper subgroup $K$ of $G$ such that $G=HK$ . In this paper we prove that a finite group $G$ is $p$ -nilpotent if every minimal subgroup of $P\bigcap G^{N}$ is weakly-supplemented in $G$ , and when $p=2$ either every cyclic subgroup of $P\bigcap G^{N}$ with order 4 is weakly-supplemented in $G$ or $P$ is quaternion-free, where $p$ is the smallest prime number dividing the order of $G$ , $P$ a sylow $p$ -subgroup of $G$ .  相似文献

Let $G$ be a unipotent algebraic group over an algebraically closed field $\mathtt{k }$ of characteristic $p>0$ and let $l\ne p$ be another prime. Let $e$ be a minimal idempotent in $\mathcal{D }_G(G)$ , the $\overline{\mathbb{Q }}_l$ -linear triangulated braided monoidal category of $G$ -equivariant (for the conjugation action) $\overline{\mathbb{Q }}_l$ -complexes on $G$ under convolution (with compact support) of complexes. Then, by a construction due to Boyarchenko and Drinfeld, we can associate to $G$ and $e$ a modular category $\mathcal{M }_{G,e}$ . In this paper, we prove that the modular categories that arise in this way from unipotent groups are precisely those in the class $\mathfrak{C }_p^{\pm }$ .  相似文献

Let $G$ be a compact Lie group, $H$ a closed subgroup of maximal rank and $X$ a topological $G$ -space. We obtain a variety of results concerning the structure of the $H$ -equivariant K-ring $K_H^*(X)$ viewed as a module over the $G$ -equivariant K-ring $K_G^*(X)$ . One result is that the module has a nonsingular bilinear pairing; another is that the module contains multiplets which are analogous to the Gross–Kostant–Ramond–Sternberg multiplets of representation theory.  相似文献

Let $G$ be a locally finite group which contains a non-cyclic subgroup $V$ of order four such that $C_{G}\left( V\right) $ is finite and $C_{G}\left( \phi \right)$ has finite exponent for some $\phi \in V$ . We show that $[G,\phi ]^{\prime }$ has finite exponent. This enables us to deduce that $G$ has a normal series $1\le G_1\le G_2\le G_3\le G$ such that $G_1$ and $G/G_2$ have finite exponents while $G_2/G_1$ is abelian. Moreover $G_3$ is hyperabelian and has finite index in $G$ .  相似文献

We show a $2$ -nilpotent section conjecture over $\mathbb{R }$ : for a geometrically connected curve $X$ over $\mathbb{R }$ such that each irreducible component of its normalization has $\mathbb{R }$ -points, $\pi _0(X(\mathbb{R }))$ is determined by the maximal $2$ -nilpotent quotient of the fundamental group with its Galois action, as the kernel of an obstruction of Jordan Ellenberg. This implies that for $X$ smooth and proper, $X(\mathbb{R })^{\pm }$ is determined by the maximal $2$ -nilpotent quotient of $\mathrm{Gal }(\mathbb{C }(X))$ with its $\mathrm{Gal }(\mathbb{R })$ action, where $X(\mathbb{R })^{\pm }$ denotes the set of real points equipped with a real tangent direction, showing a $2$ -nilpotent birational real section conjecture.  相似文献

Let $(B,\mathcal{M }_B)$ be a noetherian regular local ring of dimension $2$ with residue field $B/\mathcal{M }_B$ of characteristic $p>0$ . Assume that $B$ is endowed with an action of a finite cyclic group $H$ whose order is divisible by $p$ . Associated with a resolution of singularities of $\mathrm{Spec}B^H$ is a resolution graph $G$ and an intersection matrix $N$ . We prove in this article three structural properties of wild quotient singularities, which suggest that in general, one should expect when $H= \mathbb{Z }/p\mathbb{Z }$ that the graph $G$ is a tree, that the Smith group $\mathbb{Z }^n/\mathrm{Im}(N)$ is killed by $p$ , and that the fundamental cycle $Z$ has self-intersection $|Z^2|\le p$ . We undertake a combinatorial study of intersection matrices $N$ with a view towards the explicit determination of the invariants $\mathbb{Z }^n/\mathrm{Im}(N)$ and $Z$ . We also exhibit explicitly the resolution graphs of an infinite set of wild $\mathbb{Z }/2\mathbb{Z }$ -singularities, using some results on elliptic curves with potentially good ordinary reduction which could be of independent interest.  相似文献

We show that a compact Kähler manifold $X$ is a complex torus if both the continuous part and discrete part of some automorphism group $G$ of $X$ are infinite groups, unless $X$ is bimeromorphic to a non-trivial $G$ -equivariant fibration. Some applications to dynamics are given.  相似文献

Let $g$ be an involution of a compact closed manifold $X$ such that the fixed-point set $X^{g}$ is middle dimensional. Under the assumption that the normal bundle of the fixed-point set is either the tangent or co-tangent bundle conditions on the equivariant invariants of $X$ arise. In particular if $X$ is a holomorphic-symplectic manifold and $g$ an anti holomorphic-symplectic involution one arrives at a generalisation of Beauville’s result that for $X$ a hyper-Kähler manifold the $\hat{A}$ genus of $X^{g}$ is one.  相似文献

Let $X$ be a compact nonsingular affine real algebraic variety. We prove that every pre-algebraic vector bundle on $X$ becomes algebraic after finitely many blowing ups. Using this theorem, we then prove that the Stiefel-Whitney classes of any pre-algebraic $\mathbb{R }$ -vector bundle on $X$ are algebraic. We also derive that the Chern classes of any pre-algebraic $\mathbb{C }$ -vector bundles and the Pontryagin classes of any pre-algebraic $\mathbb{R }$ -vector bundle are blow- $\mathbb{C }$ -algebraic. We also provide several results on line bundles on $X$ .  相似文献

For a group $G$ , denote by $\omega (G)$ the number of conjugacy classes of normalizers of subgroups of $G$ . Clearly, $\omega (G)=1$ if and only if $G$ is a Dedekind group. Hence if $G$ is a 2-group, then $G$ is nilpotent of class $\le 2$ and if $G$ is a $p$ -group, $p>2$ , then $G$ is abelian. We prove a generalization of this. Let $G$ be a finite $p$ -group with $\omega (G)\le p+1$ . If $p=2$ , then $G$ is of class $\le 3$ ; if $p>2$ , then $G$ is of class $\le 2$ .  相似文献

A group $G$ is called a $\mathcal{P }_1$ -group if it has a normal series of finite length whose factors have rank $1$ , while $G$ is an $\mathcal{H }_1$ -group if it has an ascending normal series of the same type. This paper investigates properties of $\mathcal{P }_1$ -groups and $\mathcal{H }_1$ -groups which correspond to known properties of nilpotent and supersoluble groups.  相似文献

Let $\mathcal{V }$ be a complete discrete valuation ring of mixed characteristic with perfect residue field. Let $X$ be a geometrically connected smooth proper curve over $\mathcal{V }$ . We introduce the notion of constructible convergent $\nabla $ -module on the analytification $X_{K}^{\mathrm{an}}$ of the generic fiber of $X$ . A constructible module is an $\mathcal{O }_{X_{K}^{\mathrm{an}}}$ -module which is not necessarily coherent, but becomes coherent on a stratification by locally closed subsets of the special fiber $X_{k}$ of $X$ . The notions of connection, of (over-) convergence and of Frobenius structure carry over to this situation. We describe a specialization functor from the category of constructible convergent $\nabla $ -modules to the category of $\mathcal{D }^\dagger _{\hat{X} \mathbf{Q }}$ -modules. We show that specialization induces an equivalence between constructible $F$ - $\nabla $ -modules and perverse holonomic $F$ - $\mathcal{D }^\dagger _{\hat{X} \mathbf{Q }}$ -modules.  相似文献

We prove that a finitely generated pro- $p$ group acting on a pro- $p$ tree $T$ with procyclic edge stabilizers is the fundamental pro- $p$ group of a finite graph of pro- $p$ groups with vertex groups being stabilizers of certain vertices of $T$ and edge groups (when non-trivial) being stabilizers of certain edges of $T$ , in the following two situations: (1) the action is $n$ -acylindrical, i.e., any non-identity element fixes not more than $n$ edges; (2) the group $G$ is generated by its vertex stabilizers. This theorem is applied to obtain several results about pro- $p$ groups from the class $\mathcal L $ defined and studied in Kochloukova and Zalesskii (Math Z 267:109–128, 2011) as pro- $p$ analogues of limit groups. We prove that every pro- $p$ group $G$ from the class $\mathcal L $ is the fundamental pro- $p$ group of a finite graph of pro- $p$ groups with infinite procyclic or trivial edge groups and finitely generated vertex groups; moreover, all non-abelian vertex groups are from the class $\mathcal L $ of lower level than $G$ with respect to the natural hierarchy. This allows us to give an affirmative answer to questions 9.1 and 9.3 in Kochloukova and Zalesskii (Math Z 267:109–128, 2011). Namely, we prove that a group $G$ from the class $\mathcal L $ has Euler–Poincaré characteristic zero if and only if it is abelian, and if every abelian pro- $p$ subgroup of $G$ is procyclic and $G$ itself is not procyclic, then $\mathrm{def}(G)\ge 2$ . Moreover, we prove that $G$ satisfies the Greenberg–Stallings property and any finitely generated non-abelian subgroup of $G$ has finite index in its commensurator.  相似文献

Suppose that $G$ is a finite group and $H$ is a subgroup of $G$ . $H$ is said to be an $s$ -quasinormally embedded in $G$ if for each prime $p$ dividing the order of $H$ , a Sylow $p$ -subgroup of $H$ is also a Sylow $p$ -subgroup of some $S$ -quasinormal subgroup of $G$ ; $H$ is said to be $c$ -normal in $G$ if $G$ has a normal subgroup $T$ such that $G=HT$ and $H\cap T\le H_{G}$ , where $H_{G}$ is the normal core of $H$ in $G$ . We fix in every non-cyclic Sylow subgroup $P$ of $G$ some subgroup $D$ satisfying $1<|D|<|P|$ and study the structure of $G$ under the assumption that every subgroup $H$ of $P$ with $|H|=|D|$ is either $s$ -quasinormally embedded or $c$ -normal in $G$ . Some recent results are generalized and unified.  相似文献

According to Mukai and Iliev, a smooth prime Fano threefold $X$ of genus $9$ is associated with a surface $\mathbb{P }(\mathcal{V })$ , ruled over a smooth plane quartic $\varGamma $ , and the derived category of $\varGamma $ embeds into that of $X$ by a theorem of Kuznetsov. We use this setup to study the moduli spaces of rank- $2$ stable sheaves on $X$ with odd determinant. For each $c_2 \ge 7$ , we prove that a component of their moduli space $\mathsf{M}_X(2,1,c_2)$ is birational to a Brill–Noether locus of vector bundles with fixed rank and degree on $\varGamma $ , having enough sections when twisted by $\mathcal{V }$ . For $c_2=7$ , we prove that $\mathsf{M}_X(2,1,7)$ is isomorphic to the blow-up of the Picard variety $\text{ Pic}^{2}({\varGamma })$ along the curve parametrizing lines contained in $X$ .  相似文献

Suppose a group $\Gamma $ acts on a scheme $X$ and a Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak {g}$ . The corresponding equivariant map superalgebra is the Lie superalgebra of equivariant regular maps from $X$ to $\mathfrak {g}$ . We classify the irreducible finite dimensional modules for these superalgebras under the assumptions that the coordinate ring of $X$ is finitely generated, $\Gamma $ is finite abelian and acts freely on the rational points of $X$ , and $\mathfrak {g}$ is a basic classical Lie superalgebra (or $\mathfrak {sl}\,(n,n)$ , $n \ge 1$ , if $\Gamma $ is trivial). We show that they are all (tensor products of) generalized evaluation modules and are parameterized by a certain set of equivariant finitely supported maps defined on $X$ . Furthermore, in the case that the even part of $\mathfrak {g}$ is semisimple, we show that all such modules are in fact (tensor products of) evaluation modules. On the other hand, if the even part of $\mathfrak {g}$ is not semisimple (more generally, if $\mathfrak {g}$ is of type I), we introduce a natural generalization of Kac modules and show that all irreducible finite dimensional modules are quotients of these. As a special case, our results give the first classification of the irreducible finite dimensional modules for twisted loop superalgebras.  相似文献

Let $G$ be a finite $p$ -solvable group for some prime $p$ and suppose that the set of $p$ -regular conjugacy class sizes is $\{1, m, mn\}$ with $(m, n)=1$ and $m$ coprime to $p$ . We show that $m=q^b$ for some prime $q$ and we describe the structure of the $p$ -complements of $G$ .  相似文献

We consider the (pure) braid groups $B_{n}(M)$ and $P_{n}(M)$ , where $M$ is the $2$ -sphere $\mathbb S ^{2}$ or the real projective plane $\mathbb R P^2$ . We determine the minimal cardinality of (normal) generating sets $X$ of these groups, first when there is no restriction on $X$ , and secondly when $X$ consists of elements of finite order. This improves on results of Berrick and Matthey in the case of $\mathbb S ^{2}$ , and extends them in the case of $\mathbb R P^2$ . We begin by recalling the situation for the Artin braid groups ( $M=\mathbb{D }^{2}$ ). As applications of our results, we answer the corresponding questions for the associated mapping class groups, and we show that for $M=\mathbb S ^{2}$ or $\mathbb R P^2$ , the induced action of $B_n(M)$ on $H_3(\widetilde{F_n(M)};\mathbb{Z })$ is trivial, $F_{n}(M)$ being the $n^\mathrm{th}$ configuration space of $M$ .  相似文献

Let $(\lambda ^k_p)_k$ be the usual sequence of min-max eigenvalues for the $p$ -Laplace operator with $p\in (1,\infty )$ and let $(\lambda ^k_1)_k$ be the corresponding sequence of eigenvalues of the 1-Laplace operator. For bounded $\Omega \subseteq \mathbb{R }^n$ with Lipschitz boundary the convergence $\lambda ^k_p\rightarrow \lambda ^k_1$ as $p\rightarrow 1$ is shown for all $k\in \mathbb{N }$ . The proof uses an approximation of $BV(\Omega )$ -functions by $C_0^\infty (\Omega )$ -functions in the sense of strict convergence on $\mathbb{R }^n$ .  相似文献
