正、负离子表面活性剂混合体系溶致液晶生成的相行为   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
研究了烷基(C8,C12,C14)三甲基溴化铵、烷基(C12,C14)溴化吡啶与烷基(C8,C12)硫酸钠混合体系溶致液晶形成的条件与结构的变化.在高浓度的水溶液中,随着正、负离子表面活性剂摩尔比接近于1,液晶结构由六角相过渡为层状相.表面活性剂非极性链长改变,对相行为影响显著,短碳链的正、负离子表面活性剂混合体系,在等摩尔比时,体系为层状液晶或立方液晶为主,夹杂少许沉淀.随碳链增长,两类表面活性剂间的静电吸引效果表现为生成沉淀的摩尔比例范围变宽,沉淀量增多,共存的液晶相减少,甚至消失.若只改变正离子的极性头基,季胺盐比吡啶盐与烷基硫酸盐的作用要强,形成不溶物的混合摩尔比例范围更宽.  相似文献

The gel to liquid-crystal transition for vesicles in aqueous solution formed by dimethyldi-n-octadecylammonium bromide (DOAB) occurs at 44.7°C. Moreover, the shapes of the scans recorded by a sensitive DSC microcalorimeter are very similar when the vesicular solutions are prepared starting with solid DOAB and comparable amounts of either solid urea or solid alkylureas. Therefore, the DOAB vesicles in aqueous solution accommodate this class of solutes without marked changes in the melting temperature and the enthalpy of the transition. The contrast with effects of added surfactants and simple organic solutes such as THF and ethanol is particularly significant. Twenty-one R2R2N+X -type (R=methyl or ethyl, R=alkyl, X=Br or I) quaternary ammonium (QA) halides have been prepared by using a novel one-pot synthetic route in which a formamide (dimethyl-, diethylformamide, etc.) is treated with alkyl halide in the presence of sodium or potassium carbonate. The formation of QA halides was verified with 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, MS and elemental analysis. The crystal structures of four QA halides (two bromide and two iodide) were determined using X-ray single crystal diffraction, and the powder diffraction method was used to study the structural similarities between the single crystal and microcrystalline bulk material. The thermal properties of all compounds were studied using TG/DTA and DSC methods. The smallest compounds decomposed during or before melting. The decreasing trend of melting points was observed when the alkyl chain length was increased. The liquid ranges of 120-180 °C were observed for compounds with 5-6 carbon atoms in the alkyl chain. The low melting points and wide liquid ranges suggest potential applicability of these compounds for example as ionic liquids precursors.  相似文献

This study deals with the formation of reverse vesicles based on the phase behavior of silicone surfactants. The surfactants, polyoxyethylene–polydimethylsiloxane and polyoxyethylene–polyoxypropylene–polydimethylsiloxane copolymer, were found to form lamellar liquid crystal phases in three different types of silicone oil upon the addition of a certain amount of water. A conventional method in which reverse vesicles are prepared by physically dispersing this lamellar liquid crystal phase in oil was employed in addition to a technique based on a temperature-induced phase transition. The particle sizes and stabilities of the resulting reverse vesicles were evaluated.  相似文献

The thermotropic phase behaviour and phase structure of crystalline and non-crystalline n-tetradecyl-beta-D-maltoside (C14G2) and n-hexadecyl-beta-D-maltoside (C16G2) have been investigated by means of differential scanning calorimetry and X-ray techniques. Upon lyophilisation, both compounds form a solid, lamellar phase comprising disordered head groups and hexagonally packed alkyl chains that are suggested to be tilted and interdigitated. This ordered lamellar phase melts into a metastable lamellar liquid crystal, which re-crystallises to a high-temperature crystalline polymorph comprising interdigitated, non-tilted alkyl chains. Remarkably, the high-temperature polymorph of C14G2 has the same melting point as that of C16G2, namely 105 degrees C for both surfactants. A low-temperature polymorph of anhydrous C14G2 crystallises from water at room temperature, whereas the hemihydrate of C14G2 crystallises at 6 degrees C from water, or from chloroform containing trace water. X-ray data suggest both these crystalline modifications to comprise interdigitated and tilted alkyl chains.  相似文献

Three alkyltrimethylammonium bromides (i.e., dodecyl-, tetradecyl-, and hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide or DTAB, TTAB, and CTAB, respectively) were used to remove a blue solvent-based ink from a printed surface of high-density polyethylene bottles. Either an increase in the alkyl chain length or the surfactant concentration was found to increase the deinking efficiency. Complete deinking was achieved at concentrations about 3, 8, and 24 times of the critical micelle concentration (CMC) of CTAB, TTAB, and DTAB, respectively. For CTAB, ink removal started at a concentration close to or less than its CMC and increased appreciably at concentrations greater than its CMC, while for TTAB and DTAB, significant deinking was only achieved at concentrations much greater than their CMCs. Corresponding to the deinking efficiency of CTAB in the CMC region, the zeta potential of ink particles was found to increase with increasing alkyl chain length and concentration of the surfactants, which later leveled off at some higher concentrations. Wettability of the surfactants on an ink surface increased with increasing alkyl chain length and concentration of the surfactants. Lastly, solubilization of ink binder in the surfactant micelles was found to increase with increasing alkyl chain length and surfactant concentration. We conclude that adsorption of surfactant on the ink pigment is crucial to deinking due to modification of wettability, zeta potential, pigment/water interfacial tension, and dispersion stability. Solubilization of binder (epoxy) into micelles is necessary for good deinking because the dissolution of the binder is required before the pigment particles can be released from the polymer surface.  相似文献

The structure of micelles formed by nonionic polyoxyethylene alkyl ether nonionic surfactants, C n E m , in the room-temperature ionic liquid, ethylammonium nitrate (EAN), has been determined by small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) as a function of alkyl and ethoxy chain length, concentration, and temperature. Micelles are found to form for all alkyl chains from dodecyl through to octadecyl. Dodecyl-chained surfactants have high critical micelle concentrations, around 1 wt%, and form weakly structured micelles. Surfactants with longer alkyl chains readily form micelles in EAN. The observed micelle structure changes systematically with alkyl and ethoxy chain length, in parallel with observations in aqueous solutions. Decreasing ethoxy chain length at constant alkyl chain length leads to a sphere to rod transition. These micelles also grow into rods with increasing temperature as their cloud point is approached in EAN.  相似文献

Four series of di(4-alkoxycarbonylphenyl) terephthalates with different lateral substituents in the central ring and lengths of the terminal alkyl groups were synthesized. The influence of the lateral substituent on thermodynamical parameters of the phase transitions and elastic properties of the nematic phases (ratio of bend elastic constant to diamagnetic anisotropy K3/Delta chi) were studied by polarizing optical microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry and observations of the Freedericksz transition. It was found that increasing the alkyl chain length and the substituent size in the sequence H, Cl, Br, NO2 results in reduction in stability of the crystal and (as frequently observed in other cases) the liquid crystal phases. The changes in the bend elastic constant and the melting enthalpy caused by the substituent variation are correlated with each other, a fact that is explained by the dependence of short-range lamellar packing on size and polarity of substituent.  相似文献

The thermotropic and lyotropic phase behavior of 1- and 5-decyl urea, and 1-, 2-, 4-, and 6-dodecyl urea have been studied. This allowed the effect of positional isomerism to be examined. Intermolecular hydrogen bonding by the urea moiety is the dominant factor in determining the solid-state thermal behavior and crystal solubility boundary of these linear nonionic surfactants. The positional isomers where the urea moiety was not situated at the terminus of the hydrocarbon chain exhibited higher melting points than the 1-alkyl ureas. This has been rationalized by postulating interdigitated chains in the solid state. In the urea surfactant-water systems, three phases are observed, viz. crystalline solid, a dilute aqueous solution of the alkyl urea, and an isotropic liquid. The last two phases coexist in the low-surfactant, high-temperature region of the binary phase diagram. An overview of structure-property correlations for linear nonionic urea surfactants is presented in light of the new physicochemical data obtained for the decyl urea and dodecyl urea positional isomers.  相似文献

Self-assembled layers of alkyl chains grafted onto the surfaces of layered silicates, metal, and oxidic nanoparticles are utilized to control interactions with external media by tuning the packing density of the chains on the surface, head group functionality, and chain length. Characterization through experiment and simulation shows that the orientation of the alkyl layers and reversible phase transitions on heating are a function of the cross-sectional area of the alkyl chains in relation to the available surface area per alkyl chain. On even surfaces, a packing density less than 0.2 leads to nearly parallel orientation of the alkyl chains on the surface, a high degree of conformational disorder, and no reversible melting transitions. A packing density between 0.2 and 0.75 leads to intermediate inclination angles, semicrystalline order, and reversible melting transitions on heating. A packing density above 0.75 results in nearly vertical alignment of the surfactants on the surface, a high degree of crystalline character, and absence of reversible melting transitions. Curved surfaces can be understood by the same principle, taking into account a local radius of curvature and a distance-dependent packing density on the surface. In good approximation, this simple model is independent from the length of the alkyl chains (a minimum length of C10 is required to form sufficiently distinctive patterns), the chemical nature of the surface, and of the surfactant head group. These structural details primarily determine the functionality of alkyl modified surfaces and the temperature of thermal transitions.  相似文献

以不具有液晶行为的2,6-二[N,N′-二-(4-烷基苯甲酰基)]氨基吡啶(A系列)和4-正烷氧基苯甲酸(D系列)作为氢键液晶复合物的单体,组装成T-型氢键液晶系列复合物(AmDn)。用红外光谱对其结构进行了表征,用DSC及偏光显微方法对其液晶行为进行了研究。结果表明:所合成的21种复合物分子间存在氢键且都具有向列相。通过调整2,6-二[N,N′-二-(4-烷基苯甲酰基)]氨基吡啶分子上柔性烷基的长度和极性,可以有效地调节它与4-烷氧基苯甲酸形成的氢键复合物的液晶相变温度以及液晶态的稳定性;增加2,6-二[N,N′-二-(4-烷基苯甲酰基)]氨基吡啶分子上柔性烷基的长度,其复合物AmDn的液晶相温度范围趋于变窄,清亮点逐渐下降,其液晶态稳定性也逐渐下降;以2,6-二[N,N′-二-(4-烷基苯甲酰基)]氨基吡啶分子替代2,6-二[N,N′-二-(4-烷氧基苯甲酰基)]氨基吡啶分子,可以降低分子的极性,使其单体的熔点及其氢键复合物AmDn的相变温度下降。  相似文献

离子液体表面活性剂在化学合成、材料制备和环境污染控制等方面的应用与它们在水溶液中的自组装及其微观结构密切相关。因此,研究离子液体表面活性剂在水溶液中的自组装行为具有重要的意义。本文重点综述了阳离子的结构、阴离子的类型、外加电解质、有机添加剂、环境因素(温度、溶液pH值和光)等对离子液体表面活性剂在水中的自组装行为以及对组装体结构影响的研究进展,总结了这些因素对离子液体表面活性剂在水中自组装的调控规律,展望了该领域的发展方向及面临的挑战。  相似文献

分子结构对称的gemini 表面活性剂是通过联接链将两个相同头基和相同烷烃链的普通表面活性剂在头基或靠近头基处以化学键方式联接在一起,这种表面活性剂产生了新颖且复杂的自组织行为,引起人们的高度关注。但由于合成上的困难,迄今为止较少研究分子结构不对称的gemini 表面活性剂(又称为杂双子表面活性剂,heterogemini surfactant) 。初步研究显示heterogeminis 在分子自组织过程中具有更多可调控的分子结构因素,获得了某些新颖的结果,例如明显增大了自组织过程的焓驱动力,正-负离子头基分子构成了无反离子的体系,长-短烷烃主链分子成功地将形成的囊泡串接起来等。本文综述当前的研究进展,并提出某些潜在的研究意义。  相似文献

采用离子交换法,由1-丁基-3甲基咪唑氯盐(C4mimCl)和烷基硫酸钠合成了一系列无卤素的阴离子表面活性离子液体—1-丁基-3-甲基咪唑烷基硫酸酯[C4mim][CnH2n 1SO4](n=8,12,16),利用表面张力仪、稳态荧光光谱等手段考察了表面活性离子液体在水溶液表面及体相中的聚集行为,结果表明,与传统无机反离子相比,有机咪唑阳离子[C4mim] 作为反离子的离子液体型表面活性剂具有较高的表面活性,[C4mim] 产生的氢键引起的抑制分子规则排列的作用小于其促进分子有序排列的疏水作用。长烷基链的阴离子是界面膜及胶束的主要组成成分,阴离子疏水烷基碳链的增长虽然可促进胶束的形成,但却在一定程度上抑制[C4mim] 离子参与界面或胶束的形成;阴离子所带烷基链越长,越不利于阳离子[C4mim]+参与界面膜或胶束的形成,界面膜或胶束中表面活性剂排布越松散,即界面张力越大,体系中胶束聚集数较小。  相似文献

In the first series we changed the length of the spacers with the terminal chain fixed as the butoxy group; in the second series we changed the length of the terminal alkyl or alkoxy groups while keeping the spacers fixed as decamethylene groups. In the first series, as the length of the spacer increased, the tendency to form smectic phases grew. In the second series, changing the alkyl terminal chain to the alkoxy terminal group raised the melting and isotropization temperatures. Increasing the length of the terminal group diminished the temperature range for the higher temperature smectic phase. The smectic phases are assigned to be smectic A and crystal smectic E phases.  相似文献

A group of the mesogen jacketed liquid crystal polymers based on the monomers 2,5-bis (4-substituted benzoyl)oxystyrenes are synthesized. The substituents include alkoxy, alkyl, and cyano groups. The synthesis and the primary characterization of the liquid crystal phase of the monomers and the polymers are described. While some of the monomers give smectic textures the polymers are found to be nematic above their melting or glass transition temperatures. Interestingly the unsubstituted monomer and its polymer poly 2,5-di( benzoyloxy ) styrene are also liquid crystalline. The single crystal structure of one of the monomers is also discussed.  相似文献

We propose a new all-atom force field for guanidinium-based ionic liquids (GILs) which is based on the charge distribution in the actual liquid. It comprises all cations that can be built by attaching alkyl chains of variable length to an acyclic or cyclic guanidinium compound and that are paired with nitrate or perchlorate anions. We based the parametrization of the force field on liquid-phase charge distributions to improve the prediction of energetic and dynamic properties of GILs. The impact of electron charge transfer and polarization on various properties of GILs is systematically assessed. A significant average electron charge transfer between -0.12 and -0.06 e from anions to the central guanidinium group of the cations and a strong polarization of acyclic cations are observed by applying a combined quantum mechanical/molecular mechanical (QM/MM) approach. Molecular dynamics simulations of GILs are performed, utilizing the proposed force field. Derived structures approach the accuracy of QM/MM structures, and a previously reported crystal structure remains stable throughout the simulations. Mass densities are reproduced with a deviation of only 1.4% from experimental data. The calculated melting point of a GIL crystal deviates only 8% from the measured value. Self-diffusion coefficients of various GILs are reported, and a comparison with a diffusion coefficient derived from experimental data indicates that the values are within a reasonable range. We observe that the melting point of a GIL crystal was lowered up to 60 K and that diffusion coefficients are substantially increased by a factor of up to 3.5 upon consideration of charge transfer and polarization. The results demonstrate that liquid-phase partial charges are capable of improving the quality of ionic liquid force fields substantially and that their utilization led to a model that can be applied to predict structural, energetic, and dynamic properties of GILs.  相似文献

以4-烷基环己基甲酸和4-溴-2,3-二氟苯酚为原料,经格氏、黄鸣龙还原、碘代、芳基硼酸化、Suzuki偶联、威廉姆逊和酯化等反应,合成24种侧向二氟取代联苯类液晶化合物,总收率4.2%~8.7%,产物的分子结构经核磁(1H NMR,13C NMR)、红外和质谱确认。 利用差示扫描量热仪(DSC)和偏光显微镜(POM)对目标化合物进行了液晶性能测试。 结果表明,烷基链的长度不仅影响化合物的熔点和清亮点,还影响液晶相态变化;端烯可以降低化合物的熔点(降低了3.7 ℃),提高清亮点(提高了24.8 ℃),拓宽向列相区间(由54.1 ℃拓宽到82.6 ℃);酯基的引入可以提高清亮点,有助于消除近晶相。 该系列化合物在垂直取向(VA)和平面转换(IPS)显示模式中具有潜在的应用前景。  相似文献

The homo-interaction between urea moieties residing in close proximity to each other generally results in very strong intermolecular hydrogen bonding. The bifurcated hydrogen bonding exhibited by n-alkyl substituted ureas means that for those urea surfactants possessing medium and long hydrocarbon chain substituents the crystal to isotropic liquid melting point is high and the solubility in water is very low, compared to other similar chain length nonionic surfactants. In addition, saturated n-alkyl urea surfactants do not form lyotropic liquid crystalline phases in water. In this work the strong intermolecular hydrogen bonding of the urea headgroup has been ameliorated through the introduction of unsaturated hydrocarbon chains, viz., oleyl (cis-octadec-9-enyl), linoleyl (cis, cis-octadec-9,12-dienyl), and linolenyl (cis, cis, cis-octadec-9,12,15-trienyl) with one, two, and three carbon double bonds, respectively. Unsaturation in the C18 urea surfactants lowers the melting point and promotes an inverse hexagonal phase, in oleyl urea-water and linoleyl urea-water systems, which is thermodynamically stable in excess water. As the degree of unsaturation is increased to three in linolenyl urea, there is a tendency for autoxidation/polymerization. The occurrence of an inverse hexagonal phase in the nonionic urea surfactant-water systems has been rationalized in terms of both local molecular and global self-assembled aggregate packing constraints.  相似文献
