Every Banach space is isomorphic to a space with the property that the norm-attaining operators are dense in the space of all operators into it, for any given domain space. A super-reflexive space is arbitrarily nearly isometric to a space with this property.  相似文献

The main result is that a separable Banach space with the weak* unconditional tree property is isomorphic to a subspace as well as a quotient of a Banach space with a shrinking unconditional basis. A consequence of this is that a Banach space is isomorphic to a subspace of a space with a shrinking unconditional basis if and only if it is isomorphic to a quotient of a space with a shrinking unconditional basis, which solves a problem dating to the 1970s. The proof of the main result also yields that a uniformly convex space with the unconditional tree property is isomorphic to a subspace as well as a quotient of a uniformly convex space with an unconditional finite dimensional decomposition.  相似文献

We introduce a function model for the Teichmüller space of a closed hyperbolic Riemann surface.Then we introduce a new metric on the Teichmüller space by using the maximum norm on the function space.We prove that the identity map from the Teichmüller space equipped with the Teichmüller metric to the Teichmüller space equipped with this new metric is uniformly continuous. Moreover, we prove that the inverse of the identity, i.e., the identity map from the Teichmüller space equipped with this new metric to the Teichmüller space equipped with the Teichmüller metric, is continuous(but not uniformly). Therefore, the topology induced by the new metric is the same as the topology induced by the Teichmüller metric on the Teichmüller space.Finally, we give a remark about the pressure metric on the function model and the Weil-Petersson metric on the Teichmüller space.  相似文献

A quantized metric space is a matrix order unit space equipped with an operator space version of Rieffel's Lip-norm. We develop for quantized metric spaces an operator space version of quantum Gromov-Hausdorff distance. We show that two quantized metric spaces are completely isometric if and only if their quantized Gromov-Hausdorff distance is zero. We establish a completeness theorem. As applications, we show that a quantized metric space with 1-exact underlying matrix order unit space is a limit of matrix algebras with respect to quantized Gromov-Hausdorff distance, and that matrix algebras converge naturally to the sphere for quantized Gromov-Hausdorff distance.  相似文献

We study the intersection operation of closed linear subspaces in a separable Banach space. We show that if the ambient space is quasi-reflexive, then the intersection operation is Borel. On the other hand, if the space contains a closed subspace with a Schauder decomposition into infinitely many non-reflexive spaces, then the intersection operation is not Borel. As a corollary, for a closed subspace of a Banach space with an unconditional basis, the intersection operation of the closed linear subspaces is Borel if and only if the space is reflexive. We also consider the intersection operation of additive subgroups in an infinite-dimensional separable Banach space, and show that if this intersection operation is Borel then the space is hereditarily indecomposable.  相似文献

We consider an attainability problem in a complete metric space on values of an objective operator h. We assume that the latter admits a uniform approximation by mappings which are tier with respect to a given measurable space with an algebra of sets. Let asymptotic-type constraints be defined as a nonempty family of sets in this measurable space. We treat ultrafilters of the measurable space as generalized elements; we equip this space of ultrafilters with a topology of a zero-dimensional compact (the Stone representation space). On this base we construct a correct extension of the initial problem, realizing the set of attraction in the form of a continuous image of the compact of feasible generalized elements. Generalizing the objective operator, we use the limit with respect to ultrafilters of the measurable space. This provides the continuity of the generalized version of h understood as a mapping of the zero-dimensional compact into the topological space metrizable with a total metric.  相似文献

This article gives dual representations for convex integral functionals on the linear space of regular processes. This space turns out to be a Banach space containing many more familiar classes of stochastic processes and its dual can be identified with the space of optional random measures with essentially bounded variation. Combined with classical Banach space techniques, our results allow for a systematic treatment of stochastic optimization problems over BV processes and, in particular, yields a maximum principle for a general class of singular stochastic control problems.  相似文献

The classical definition of fundamental group for a topological space is based on the pathwise connectedness. A space with less path will not be able to be described effectively by its fundamental group. The author introduces a definition of generalized fundamental group for a given topological space by means of its own connectedness. For a well-behaved space, e.g., a locally pathwise and semilocally simply connected compact metric space, the generalized fundamental group coincides with the classical one.  相似文献

In this paper we study underlying spaces associated with A. Connes? trace formula (see Connes (1999) [3], Li (2010) [14]). In particular the explicit formula in the theory of prime numbers is expressed as the trace of an operator acting on a Hilbert space, which is a direct sum of a Sonine space, the space of prolate spheroidal wave functions, and a variant of the space of prolate spheroidal wave functions. A formula is obtained for the orthogonal projection of the Hilbert space onto the Sonine space. A base is given for the variant space of the space of prolate spheroidal wave functions.  相似文献

We continue our study of the space of geodesics of a manifold with linear connection. We obtain sufficient conditions for a product to have a space of geodesics which is a manifold. We investigate the relationship of the space of geodesics of a covering manifold to that of the base space. We obtain sufficient conditions for a space to be geodesically connected in terms of the topology of its space of geodesics.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce two new kinds of structures on a non-compact surface: broken hyperbolic structures and broken measured foliations. The space of broken hyperbolic structures contains the Teichmüller space of the surface as a subspace. The space of broken measured foliations is naturally identified with the space of affine foliations of the surface. We describe a topology on the union of the space of broken hyperbolic structures and of the space of broken measured foliations which generalizes Thurston's compactification of Teichmüller space.  相似文献

Stochastic processes with values in a separable Frechet space whose a itinuous linear functional are real-valued square integrable martingales are investigated. The coordinate measures on the Fréchet space are obtained from cylinder set measures on a Hilbert space that is dense in the Fréchet space. Real-valued stochastic integrals are defined from the Fréchet-valued martingales using integrands from the topological dual of the aforementioned Hilbert space. An increasing process with values in the self adjoint operators on the Hilbert space plays a fundamental role in the definition of stochastic integrals. For Banach-valued Brownian motion the change of variables formula of K. Itô is generalized. A converse to the construction of the measures on the Fréchet space from cylinder set measures on a Hilbert space is also obtained.  相似文献

The concept of almost-normed spaces is introduced. It is proved that the space of sufficiently smooth functions asymptotically approximating to polynomials (of degrees no higher than a given one) as their argument tends to infinity is an almost-normed space. It is demonstrated that this space is a complete metric space with respect to the metrics generated by the almost-norm introduced. The space of functions strongly asymptotically approximating to polynomials is defined, and its embedding into the space of functions asymptotically approximating to polynomials is proved. The results obtained give a new approach to studying boundary-value problems with asymptotic initial value data at singular points of ordinary differential equations.  相似文献

An inverse problem to the Steiner minimal tree searching problem in a normed space is studied. Namely, let a normed space be given and let all Steiner minimal trees be known in this space. The problem is to describe all norms with the same Steiner minimal trees for all finite boundary sets as in the given space. The paper presents a review of known results on the problem and announces the uniqueness of the set of Steiner minimal trees for any two-dimensional space with a strongly convex and differentiable norm.  相似文献

目前的试验设计大体在连续空间或者无约束的离散空间下进行研究,但实际工程中不少场景都需要在离散空间中挑选试验点来进行试验设计,通常的试验设计方法无法应用于约束的离散空间中.文章立足于实际工程背景,基于连续空间下的均匀试验设计,采用Gale-Shapley算法,给出了连续空间到离散空间的映射设计方案.最后,结合实例进行了Gale-Shapley算法与经验方法所得设计的对比验证研究,在约束的离散空间下,Gale-Shapley算法所得到的映射设计具有更好的均匀性,且计算效率满足工程实际需求.  相似文献
