This paper investigates the existence and stability of the grazing periodic trajectory in a two-degree-of-freedom vibro-impact system. The criterion for existence of grazing period-n motion is presented. A local analysis based on the discontinuity-mapping approach is employed to derive a normal form Poincaré mapping near the grazing trajectory. Based on the above approach, a condition of stability can be formulated, such that a grazing trajectory will be discontinuous if the condition is unfulfilled. The predicted grazing bifurcations are in agreement with the numerical results. In particular, comparison of the grazing bifurcation diagrams of the normal form Poincaré mapping and the simulation diagrams of the original differential equation illustrates the validity of the discontinuity-mapping approach.  相似文献

We consider a nonlinear diffusion equation on an infinite periodic metric graph. We prove that the terms which are irrelevant w.r.t. linear diffusion on the real line are irrelevant w.r.t. linear diffusion on the periodic metric graph, too. The proof is based on L1‐ estimates combined with Bloch wave analysis for periodic metric graphs.  相似文献

We study the stability of conservative solutions of the Cauchy problem for the Camassa-Holm equation utuxxt+κux+3uux−2uxuxxuuxxx=0 with periodic initial data u0. In particular, we derive a new Lipschitz metric dD with the property that for two solutions u and v of the equation we have dD(u(t),v(t))?eCtdD(u0,v0). A difficulty in the modelling of water infiltration into an unsaturated soil is due to the presence of a diffusion coefficient that blows up at the moisture saturation value. This is put in evidence in some well-known hydraulic models like those of Broadbridge and White and van Genuchten. In this paper, we obtain results concerning the existence, uniqueness and regularity properties of the solution of unsaturated water flow determined by a time-dependent rainfall, with a nonlinear flux boundary condition on the outflow boundary and a singular diffusion coefficient. Some considerations related to the possibility of saturation occurrence and the extension of the results to the model describing the infiltration into an nonhomogeneous stratified soil are finally made.  相似文献

We pose the problem of rough projective and rigid isotopic classification of the local invariants (of Tyurin) of four-dimensional manifolds with Lorentz metric (and the intuitive invariants connected with them); we give their isotopic classification, and reduce the general problem to an arithmetic one. A Riemannian metric with a local contraction property can be used to prove existence and uniqueness of a periodic orbit and determine a subset of its basin of attraction. While the existence of such a contraction metric is equivalent to the existence of an exponentially stable periodic orbit, the explicit construction of the metric is a difficult problem.In this paper, the construction of such a contraction metric is achieved by formulating it as an equivalent problem, namely a feasibility problem in semidefinite optimization. The contraction metric, a matrix-valued function, is constructed as a continuous piecewise affine (CPA) function, which is affine on each simplex of a triangulation of the phase space. The contraction conditions are formulated as conditions on the values at the vertices.The paper states a semidefinite optimization problem. We prove on the one hand that a feasible solution of the optimization problem determines a CPA contraction metric and on the other hand that the optimization problem is always feasible if the system has an exponentially stable periodic orbit and the triangulation is fine enough. An objective function can be used to obtain a bound on the largest Floquet exponent of the periodic orbit.  相似文献

In this paper we mainly study the existence of periodic solutions for a system of delay differential equations representing a simple two-neuron network model of Hopfield type with time-delayed connections between the neurons. We first examine the local stability of the trivial solution, propose some sufficient conditions for the uniqueness of equilibria and then apply the Poincaré–Bendixson theorem for monotone cyclic feedback delayed systems to establish the existence of periodic solutions. In addition, a sufficient condition that ensures the trivial solution to be globally exponentially stable is also given. Numerical examples are provided to support the theoretical analysis.  相似文献

In this paper, a planar system reduced from a neuronic equation is investigated.
