We consider the asymptotic solution of the Tonks—Langmuir integro-different equation with an Emmert kernel, which describes the behavior of the potential both inside the main plasma volume and in a thin boundary layer. Equations of this type are singularly perturbed due to the small coefficient at the highest order (second) derivative. The asymptotic solution is obtained by the boundary function method. Equations are derived for the first two coefficients in the regular expansion series and in the boundary function expansion. The equation for the first coefficient of the regular series has only a trivial solution. Second-order differential equations are obtained for the first two boundary functions. The equation for the first boundary function is solved numerically on a discrete grid with locally uniform spacing. An approximate analytical expression for the first boundary function is obtained from the linearized equation. The first initial-boundary value problem is considered for the damped semilinear wave equation with the quadratic nonlinearity. For small initial data and homogeneous boundary conditions its solution is constructed in the form of a series in the eigenfunctions of the Laplace operator. The long-time asymptotic expansion is obtained which shows the nonlinear effects of amplitude and frequency multiplication. The same results hold for the admissible initial data that are not small.  相似文献

A class of nonlinear nonlocal singularly perturbed boundary value problems for elliptic equation with boundary perturbation is considered. Under suitable conditions, firstly, the outer solution of the original problem is obtained, secondly, using the stretched variable, the composing expansion method and the expanding theory of power series, the boundary layer is constructed, finally, using the theory of differential inequalities the asymptotic behavior of solution for the boundary value problems is studied and educing some relational inequalities the existence and uniqueness of solution for the original problem and the uniformly valid asymptotic estimation is discussed.  相似文献

A singularly perturbed boundary-value problem for an equation of mixed ellipticparabolic type is considered. The first part of this work is devoted to an asymptotic study of the solution to the problem. Modification of the boundary function method for mixed-type equations with small parameters at the highest derivatives is used. The second part is devoted to creating a numerical method that considers the structure of the solution for small parameter values. The idea of an approximate factorization of an elliptic operator into the product of two parabolic operators is employed. An effective numerical algorithm based on an asymptotic representation of the solution is developed.  相似文献

We study the Poisson problem with zero boundary datum in a (finite) polyhedral cylinder with a non-convex edge. Applying the Fourier sine series to the equation along the edge and by a corner singularity expansion for the Poisson problem with parameter, we define the edge flux coefficient and the regular part of the solution on the polyhedral cylinder. We present a numerical method for approximating the edge flux coefficient and the regular part and show the stability. We derive an error estimate and give some numerical experiments.  相似文献

We study a mixed-type equation of the second kind with a singular coefficient. With the help of the spectral analysis method we establish a uniqueness criterion for a solution of the problem with incomplete boundary data. The solution represents the sum of the Fourier–Bessel series. The substantiation of its uniform convergence is based on an estimate of the separation from zero of the small denominator with the corresponding asymptotic behavior. This allows us to prove the convergence of the series in the class of regular solutions.  相似文献

We study the initial value problem of a singularly perturbed first order ordinary differential equation in case that the degenerate equation has a double root. We construct the formal asymptotic expansion of the solution such that the boundary layer functions decay exponentially. This requires a modification of the standard procedure. The asymptotic solution will be used to construct lower and upper solutions guaranteeing the existence of a unique solution and justifying its asymptotic expansion.  相似文献

We find the first few terms of the asymptotic expansion of a regular solution of the two-dimensional Signorini problem with a small coefficient of friction. As the fundamental approximation we take the solution of the limiting problem without friction. This solution is assumed to be known, and it is assumed that the region of contact consists of a finite number of arcs, on each of which one boundary condition or another is realized. We study the asymptotics of the solution of the Signorini problem without friction under small load variation. In this work we consider the first boundary value problem for a parabolic equation of second order with a small parameter on a half-axis (i.e., we consider the one-dimensional case). We take the zero initial condition. We construct the global (that is, the caustic points are taken into account) asymptotics of a solution for the boundary value problem. The asymptotic solution of this problem has a different structure depending on the sign of the coefficient (the drift coefficient) at the derivative of first order at a boundary point. Asymptotic representations of solutions to the boundary-value problems of elasticity theory are studied in domains with parabolic exit at infinity (or in bounded domains with singularities like polynomial zero sharpness). The procedure of derivating a formal asymptotic expansion looks like the algorithm of asymptotic analysis in domains. Under the Dirichlet conditions (displacements are prescribed on the boundary of a domain), it is not hard to justify the power asymptotic series. It follows from the theorem on the unique solvability of the problem in spaces of the type L2 containing degrees of distance r=|x| as weight multipliers. For the Neumann conditions (stresses are prescribed on the boundary of a domain) an asymptotic expansion is justified by introducing the Eiry function Φ transforming the Lamé system to the biharmonic equation. Due to the appearance of the Dirichlet condition on Φ, the study of the asymptotic behavior of a solution to the last problem is simplified. The existence theorems and conditions for solvability of the “elastic” Neumann problem are presented. These results are based on the weighted Korn inequality. Bibliography: 29 titles. We consider the asymptotic solution of the plasma-sheath integro-differential equation, which is singularly perturbed due to the presence of a small coefficient multiplying the highest order (second) derivative. A boundary value problem is considered for a second-order nonlinear ordinary differential equation with a small parameter multiplying the highest derivative. The limit equation has three solutions, of which two are stable and are separated by the third unstable one. For the original problem, an asymptotic expansion of a solution is studied that undergoes a jump from one stable root of the limit equation to the other in the neighborhood of a certain point. A uniform asymptotic approximation of this solution is constructed up to an arbitrary power of the small parameter.  相似文献

The Cauchy problem for a singularly perturbed Volterra integro-differential equation is examined. Two cases are considered: (1) the reduced equation has an isolated solution, and (2) the reduced equation has intersecting solutions (the so-called case of exchange of stabilities). An asymptotic expansion of the solution to the Cauchy problem is constructed by the method of boundary functions. The initial boundary value problem for the non-steady Stokes system is considered in bounded domains with the boundary having a peak-type singularity (power cusp singularity). The case of the boundary value with a nonzero time-dependent flow rate is studied. The formal asymptotic expansion of the solution near the singular point is constructed. This expansion contains both the outer asymptotic expansion and the boundary-layer-in-time corrector with the ‘fast time’ variable depending on the distance to the cusp point. The solution of the problem is constructed as the sum of the asymptotic expansion and the term with finite energy.  相似文献
