The object of this paper is to study continuous vector bundles, over real algebraic varieties, admitting an algebraic structure. For large classes of real varieties, we obtain explicit information concerning the Grothendieck group of algebraic vector bundles. We show that in many cases this group is small compared to the corresponding group of continuous vector bundles. Among recently introduced new notions in real algebraic geometry is that of regulous functions. Such functions form a foundation for the development of regulous geometry. Several interesting results on regulous varieties and regulous sheaves are already available. In this paper, we define and investigate regulous vector bundles. We establish algebraic and geometric properties of such vector bundles, and identify them with stratified‐algebraic vector bundles. Furthermore, using new results on curve‐rational functions, we characterize regulous vector bundles among families of vector spaces parametrized by an affine regulous variety. We also study relationships between regulous and topological vector bundles.  相似文献

An algebraic variety defined over the real numbers has an associated topological space with involution, and algebraic vector bundles give rise to Real vector bundles. We show that the associated map from algebraic K-theory to Atiyah's Real K-theory is, after completion at two, an isomorphism on homotopy groups above the dimension of the variety.  相似文献

Matroid bundles, introduced by MacPherson, are combinatorial analogues of real vector bundles. This paper sets up the foundations of matroid bundles. It defines a natural transformation from isomorphism classes of real vector bundles to isomorphism classes of matroid bundles. It then gives a transformation from matroid bundles to spherical quasifibrations, by showing that the geometric realization of a matroid bundle is a spherical quasifibration. The poset of oriented matroids of a fixed rank classifies matroid bundles, and the above transformations give a splitting from topology to combinatorics back to topology. A consequence is that the mod 2 cohomology of the poset of rank k oriented matroids (this poset classifies matroid bundles) contains the free polynomial ring on the first k Stiefel-Whitney classes.  相似文献

We introduce a new notion of complex oriented matroid and develop some basic properties of this object. Our definition of complex oriented matroids bears the same relationship to classical oriented matroids that the stratification of the complex plane into nine components corresponding to the signs of the complex and real parts has with the three-component sign stratification of the real line. We then use these complex oriented matroids to set up the foundations of a combinatorial version of complex geometry analogous to MacPherson's combinatorial differential manifolds; in this world, the representing object for the functor of (combinatorial) complex vector bundles is the nerve of a poset of complex oriented matroids. We conclude by showing that this space is homotopy equivalent to the complex Grassmannian, thus deducing that our combinatorial world is able to completely capture the notion of complex vector bundles.  相似文献

We study the spaces of stable real and quaternionic vector bundles on a real algebraic curve. The basic relationship is established with unitary representations of an extension of \mathbbZ/2{\mathbb{Z}/2} by the fundamental group. By comparison with the space of real or quaternionic connections, some of the basic topological invariants of these spaces are calculated.  相似文献

A compact topological surface S, possibly non-orientable and with non-empty boundary, always admits a Klein surface structure (an atlas whose transition maps are dianalytic). Its complex cover is, by definition, a compact Riemann surface M endowed with an anti-holomorphic involution which determines topologically the original surface S. In this paper, we compare dianalytic vector bundles over S and holomorphic vector bundles over M, devoting special attention to the implications that this has for moduli varieties of semistable vector bundles over M. We construct, starting from S, totally real, totally geodesic, Lagrangian submanifolds of moduli varieties of semistable vector bundles of fixed rank and degree over M. This relates the present work to the constructions of Ho and Liu over non-orientable compact surfaces with empty boundary (Ho and Liu in Commun Anal Geom 16(3):617–679, 2008).  相似文献

 We construct torus bundles over locally symmetric varieties associated to cocycles in the cohomology group , where Γ is a discrete subgroup of a semisimple Lie group and L is a lattice in a real vector space. We prove that such a torus bundle has a canonical complex structure and that the space of holomorphic forms of the highest degree on a fiber product of such bundles is isomorphic to the space of mixed automorphic forms of a certain type. Hua’s theory of harmonic functions on classical domains is generalized to the theory on holomorphic vector bundles over classical domains and further on vector bundles over the real classical domains and quaternion classical domains. We define real parabolic structures on real vector bundles over a real curve. Let (X, σ X ) be a real curve, and let S???X be a non-empty finite subset of X such that σ X (S)?=?S. Let N?≥?2 be an integer. We construct an N-fold cyclic cover p : YX in the category of real curves, ramified precisely over each point of S, and with the property that for any element g of the Galois group Γ, and any y?∈?Y, one has $\sigma_Y(gy) = g^{-1}\sigma_Y(y)$ . We established an equivalence between the category of real parabolic vector bundles on (X, σ X ) with real parabolic structure over S, all of whose weights are integral multiples of 1/N, and the category of real Γ-equivariant vector bundles on (Y, σ Y ).  相似文献

We present an alternate definition of the mod Z component of the AtiyahPatodi-Singer η invariant associated to (not necessary unitary) fiat vector bundles, which identifies explicitly its real and imaginary parts. Geometric realizations for the restrictions of GNS representations to unitary groups of C-algebras are constructed. These geometric realizations use an appropriate concept of reproducing kernels on vector bundles. To build such realizations in spaces of holomorphic sections, a class of complex coadjoint orbits of the corresponding real Banach-Lie groups is described and some homogeneous holomorphic Hermitian vector bundles that are naturally associated with the coadjoint orbits are constructed.  相似文献

We consider a compact twistor space P and assume that there is a surface SP, which has degree one on twistor fibres and contains a twistor fibre F, e.g. P a LeBrun twistor space ([20], [18]). Similar to [6] and [5] we examine the restriction of an instanton bundle V equipped with a fixed trivialization along F to a framed vector bundle over (S, F). First we develope inspired by [13] a suitable deformation theory for vector bundles over an analytic space framed by a vector bundle over a subspace of arbitrary codimension. In the second section we describe the restriction as a smooth natural transformation into a fine moduli space. By considering framed U(r)‐instanton bundles as a real structure on framed instanton bundles over P, we show that the bijection between isomorphism classes of framed U(r)‐instanton bundles and isomorphism classes of framed vector bundles over (S, F) due to [5] is actually an isomorphism of moduli spaces.  相似文献

In this paper we approach the study of generalized theta linear series on moduli of vector bundles on curves via vector bundle techniques on abelian varieties.

We study a naturally defined class of vector bundles on a Jacobian, called Verlinde bundles, in order to obtain information about duality between theta functions and effective global and normal generation on these moduli spaces.

We investigate the parameters of the algebraic–geometric codes constructed from vector bundles on a projective variety defined over a finite field.
