This paper proposes a mixed integer linear programming model and solution algorithm for solving supply chain network design problems in deterministic, multi-commodity, single-period contexts. The strategic level of supply chain planning and tactical level planning of supply chain are aggregated to propose an integrated model. The model integrates location and capacity choices for suppliers, plants and warehouses selection, product range assignment and production flows. The open-or-close decisions for the facilities are binary decision variables and the production and transportation flow decisions are continuous decision variables. Consequently, this problem is a binary mixed integer linear programming problem. In this paper, a modified version of Benders’ decomposition is proposed to solve the model. The most difficulty associated with the Benders’ decomposition is the solution of master problem, as in many real-life problems the model will be NP-hard and very time consuming. In the proposed procedure, the master problem will be developed using the surrogate constraints. We show that the main constraints of the master problem can be replaced by the strongest surrogate constraint. The generated problem with the strongest surrogate constraint is a valid relaxation of the main problem. Furthermore, a near-optimal initial solution is generated for a reduction in the number of iterations.  相似文献

This research presents a heuristic to solve the lockbox location problem via a search-based technique known as simulated annealing. In the past, more traditional mathematical programming techniques have been used to address this problem, but with limited success due to its combinatorial nature. Because simulated annealing is a search-based technique, an optimal solution is not guaranteed, but past research has demonstrated that search-based heuristics can provide reasonable solutions without the difficulties associated with the more traditional formulations. In this paper, the simulated annealing methodology is used to solve a large lockbox location problem at several differing levels of cost. The results compare favourably to solutions obtained from a K-means clustering heuristic.  相似文献

In this paper we partially resolve an open problem in spherical facility location. The spherical facility location problem is a generalization of the planar Euclidean facility location problem. This problem was first studied by Katz and Cooper and by Drezner and Wesolowsky where a Weszfeld-like algorithm was proposed. This algorithm is very simple and does not require a line search. However, its convergence has been an open problem for more than ten years. In this paper, we prove that the sequence generated by the algorithm converges to the unique optimal solution under the condition that the oscillation of the sequence converges to zero. We conjecture that the algorithm is a descent algorithm and prove that the sequence generated by the algorithm converges to the optimal solution under this conjecture.  相似文献

This paper deals with the inverse time problem for an axisymmetric heat equation. The problem is ill-posed. A modified Tikhonov regularization method is applied to formulate regularized solution which is stably convergent to the exact one. estimate between the approximate solution and exact technical inequality and improving a priori smoothness Meanwhile, a logarithmic-HSlder type error solution is obtained by introducing a rather assumption.  相似文献

In this work we will discuss the solution of an initial value problem of parabolic type. The main objective is to propose an alternative method of solution, one not based on finite difference or finite element or spectral methods. The aim of the present paper is to investigate the application of the Adomian decomposition method for solving the Fokker–Planck equation and some similar equations. This method can successfully be applied to a large class of problems. The Adomian decomposition method needs less work in comparison with the traditional methods. This method decreases considerable volume of calculations. The decomposition procedure of Adomian will be obtained easily without linearizing the problem by implementing the decomposition method rather than the standard methods for the exact solutions. In this approach the solution is found in the form of a convergent series with easily computed components. In this work we are concerned with the application of the decomposition method for the linear and nonlinear Fokker–Planck equation. To give overview of methodology, we have presented several examples in one and two dimensional cases.  相似文献

Facility location problems form an important class of integer programming problems, with application in the distribution and transportation industries. In this paper we are concerned with a particular type of facility location problem in which there exist two echelons of facilities. Each facility in the second echelon has limited capacity and can be supplied by only one facility (or depot) in the first echelon. Each customer is serviced by only one facility in the second echelon. The number and location of facilities in both echelons together with the allocation of customers to the second-echelon facilities are to be determined simultaneously. We propose a mathematical model for this problem and consider six heuristics based on Lagrangian relaxation for its solution. To solve the dual problem we make use of a subgradient optimization procedure. We present numerical results for a large suite of test problems. These indicate that the lower-bounds obtained from some relaxations have a duality gap which frequently is one third of the one obtained from traditional linear programming relaxation. Furthermore, the overall solution time for the heuristics are less than the time to solve the LP relaxation.  相似文献

This paper studies the duality gap in the simple plant location problem, and presents general formulas for the gap when certain complementary slackness conditions are satisfied. We show that the duality gap derived by Erlenkotter [A dual-based procedure for uncapacitated facility location, Operations Research 26 (1978) 992–1009], and which has been widely used in the literature, is a special case of the formulas presented here. A counterexample demonstrates that an underlying assumption in Erlenkotter may be violated. The results may be used to obtain improved lower bounds for branch-and-bound algorithms.  相似文献

The traditional, uncapacitated facility location problem (UFLP) seeks to determine a set of warehouses to open such that all retail stores are serviced by a warehouse and the sum of the fixed costs of opening and operating the warehouses and the variable costs of supplying the retail stores from the opened warehouses is minimized. In this paper, we discuss the partial coverage uncapacitated facility location problem (PCUFLP) as a generalization of the uncapacitated facility location problem in which not all the retail stores must be satisfied by a warehouse. Erlenkotter's dual-ascent algorithm, DUALOC, will be used to solve optimally large (1600 stores and 13?000 candidate warehouses) real-world implemented PCUFLP applications in less than two minutes on a 500?MHz PC. Furthermore, a simple analysis of the problem input data will indicate why and when efficient solutions to large PCUFLPs can be expected.  相似文献

新经济地理理论以及新近发展的“‘新’新经济地理理论”认为,高生产率企业通过集聚效应和选择效应存在于规模较大的市场,本文在后者理论框架下考察中国企业区位选址这一被忽视的问题。运用中国1999~2007年297个地级及以上城市100多万家企业的微观数据,采用倾向得分匹配方法克服样本选择性偏误,本文发现:相比低生产率企业组,高生产率企业选址于更大规模的城市。而且,这种选址倾向在不同区域和企业所有制上具有差异表现:相比传统中、西部地区,东部地区高生产率企业选址于大城市的倾向更为明显;相比集体企业,港澳台、外商及私营企业的这种倾向性更为显著,且估计结果显示国有企业选址不受全要素生产率水平的影响。以上发现为我国制造业企业区位选址决策的制定提供了新的思路。  相似文献

Assigning and scheduling vehicle routes in a stochastic time-dependent environment is a crucial management problem. The assumption that in a real-life environment everything goes according to an a priori determined static schedule is unrealistic. Our methodology builds on earlier work in which the traffic congestion is captured in an analytical way using queueing theory. The congestion is then applied to the VRP problem. In this paper, we introduce the variability in traffic flows into the model. This allows for an evaluation of the routes based on the uncertainty involved. Different experiments show that the risk taking behavior of the planner can be taken into account during optimization. As more weight is given to the variability component, the resulting optimal route will take a slightly longer travel time, but will be more reliable. We propose a powerful objective function that is easily implemented and that captures the trade-off between the average travel time and its variance. The evaluation of the solution is done in terms of the 95th-percentile of the travel time distribution (assumed to be lognormal), which reflects well the quality of the solution in this stochastic time-dependent environment.  相似文献

This paper presents numerical results from the application of a case-based reasoning approach to several repetitive operations research problems. These experiments are applications of the ideas presented in the previous framework paper, Part I. The three combinatorial optimization problems explored in this paper are the knapsack problem, the travelling salesman problem and the uncapacitated plant location problem. These numerical experiments permit a comparison of the performance of this technique across these three problem classes as well as with the traditional solution algorithms.  相似文献

A general family of single facility continuous location–allocation problems is introduced, which includes the decreasingly weighted ordered median problem, the single facility Weber problem with supply surplus, and Weber problems with alternative fast transportation network. We show in this paper that the extension of the well known Weiszfeld iterative decrease method for solving the corresponding location problems with fixed allocation yields an always convergent scheme for the location allocation problems. In a generic way, from each starting point, the limit point will be a locally minimal solution, whereas for each possible exceptional situation, a possible solution is indicated. Some computational results are presented, comparing this method with an alternating location–allocation approach. This paper is concerned with the formulation and the solution of a probabilistic model for determining the optimal location of facilities in congested emergency systems. The inherent uncertainty which characterizes the decision process is handled by a new stochastic programming paradigm which embeds the probabilistic constraints within the traditional two-stage framework. The resulting model drops simplifying assumptions on servers independence allowing at the same time to handle the spatial dependence of demand calls. An exact solution method and different tailored heuristics are presented to efficiently solve the problem. Computational experience is reported with application to various networks.  相似文献

This paper examines the plant location problem under the objective of maximizing return-on-investment. However, in place of the standard assumption that all demands must be satisfied, we impose a minimum acceptable level on market share. The model presented takes the form of a linear fractional mixed integer program. Based on properties of the model, a local search procedure is developed to solve the problem heuristically. Variable neighbourhood search and tabu search heuristics are also developed and tested. Thus, a useful extension of the simple plant location problem is examined, and heuristics are developed for the first time to solve realistic instances of this problem.  相似文献

This paper discusses full fuzzy linear programming (FFLP) problems of which all parameters and variable are triangular fuzzy numbers. We use the concept of the symmetric triangular fuzzy number and introduce an approach to defuzzify a general fuzzy quantity. For such a problem, first, the fuzzy triangular number is approximated to its nearest symmetric triangular number, with the assumption that all decision variables are symmetric triangular. An optimal solution to the above-mentioned problem is a symmetric fuzzy solution. Every FLP models turned into two crisp complex linear problems; first a problem is designed in which the center objective value will be calculated and since the center of a fuzzy number is preferred to (its) margin. With a special ranking on fuzzy numbers, the FFLP transform to multi objective linear programming (MOLP) where all variables and parameters are crisp.  相似文献

For the linear bilevel programming problem, we propose an assumption weaker than existing assumptions, while achieving similar results via a penalty function approach. The results include: equivalence between (i) existence of a solution to the problem, (ii) existence of an exact penalty function approach for solving the problem, and (iii) achievement of the optimal value of the equivalent form of the problem at some vertex of a certain polyhedral convex set. We prove that the assumption is both necessary and sufficient for the linear bilevel programming problem to admit an exact penalty function formulation, provided that the equivalent form of the problem has a feasible solution. A method is given for computing the minimal penalty function parameter value. This method can be executed by solving a set of linear programming problems. Lagrangian duality is also presented.  相似文献

The Weiszfeld algorithm for continuous location problems can be considered as an iteratively reweighted least squares method. It generally exhibits linear convergence. In this paper, a Newton algorithm with similar simplicity is proposed to solve a continuous multifacility location problem with the Euclidean distance measure. Similar to the Weiszfeld algorithm, the main computation can be solving a weighted least squares problem at each iteration. A Cholesky factorization of a symmetric positive definite band matrix, typically with a small band width (e.g., a band width of two for a Euclidean location problem on a plane) is performed. This new algorithm can be regarded as a Newton acceleration to the Weiszfeld algorithm with fast global and local convergence. The simplicity and efficiency of the proposed algorithm makes it particularly suitable for large-scale Euclidean location problems and parallel implementation. Computational experience suggests that the proposed algorithm often performs well in the absence of the linear independence or strict complementarity assumption. In addition, the proposed algorithm is proven to be globally convergent under similar assumptions for the Weiszfeld algorithm. Although local convergence analysis is still under investigation, computation results suggest that it is typically superlinearly convergent.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a smoothing algorithm for solving the monotone symmetric cone complementarity problems (SCCP for short) with a nonmonotone line search. We show that the nonmonotone algorithm is globally convergent under an assumption that the solution set of the problem concerned is nonempty. Such an assumption is weaker than those given in most existing algorithms for solving optimization problems over symmetric cones. We also prove that the solution obtained by the algorithm is a maximally complementary solution to the monotone SCCP under some assumptions.
