We compare the temperature dependence of the zero-field muon spin precession frequency observed in Sr2CuO2Cl2 and La2CuO4 below the Néel temperature with a 2-d Heisenberg model with an additional small anisotropy. Good agreement of the observed results with this model reflects the highly 2 dimensional magnetic properties of these cuprates. The measured local fields are compared with a simple calculation of dipolar fields in the crystal to search for muon site locations. Our results provide evidence that the muon sites are related to the oxygen atoms in these compounds.  相似文献

The thermal conductivity of the antiferromagnet Nd2CuO4 was measured down to 50 mK. Using the spin-flop transition to switch on and off the acoustic Nd magnons, we can reliably separate the magnon and phonon contributions to heat transport. We find that magnons travel ballistically below 0.5 K, with a thermal conductivity growing as T3, from which we extract their velocity. We show that the rate of scattering of acoustic magnons by phonons grows as T3, and the scattering of phonons by magnons peaks at twice the average Nd magnon frequency.  相似文献

Inelastic neutron-scattering measurements on the archetypical electron-doped material Nd1.85Ce0.15CuO4 up to a high relative magnetic-field strength, H/H(c2) approximately 50%, reveal a simple linear magnetic-field effect on the superconducting magnetic gap and the absence of field-induced in-gap states. The extrapolated gap-closing field value is consistent with the upper critical field H(c2), and the high-field response resembles that of the paramagnetic normal state.  相似文献
