The influences of various salts and water-soluble polymers on the phase transition temperature of thermo-setting gels prepared by combining methylcellulose (MC)–sodium citrate (SC)–polyethylene glycol (PEG) at appropriate ratios (the MC–SC–PEG system) were investigated. Concerning cations, comparison of the phase transition temperature between SC and tripotassium citrate (PC) showed a rapid increase in the viscosity of SC between 20 °C and 25 °C and an increase in the viscosity of PC between 30 °C and 35 °C. Concerning the valency of anions, comparisons among SC, disodium tartrate dihydrate (ST), disodium maleate hemihydrates (SM), and sodium sulfate (SS) showed a rapid increase in the viscosity of trivalent SC between 20 °C and 25 °C and changes in the viscosity of the three bivalent sodium salts (ST, SM, and SS) at ≥30 °C. Thus the phase transition temperature decreased with an increase in the valency of anions.Subsequently, the influences of various water-soluble polymers on the gelling temperature were compared. Using polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) instead of PEG, the gelling temperature decreased with an increase in the PVP concentration even without the addition of SC. Unlike PVP, the addition of xanthan gum as a viscosity-increasing polysaccharide did not reduce the gelling temperature irrespective of its concentration.Temperature-associated changes in viscosity were observed at a fixed SC concentration with changes in the concentration of PVP or PEG. The gel phase transition temperature increased from 46 °C to 50 °C in gels not containing PVP or PEG. The viscosity did not differ between the addition of PVP or PEG at a low concentration and its absence. However, the viscosity clearly changed after the addition of each agent at a high concentration.  相似文献

The thermal behaviour of human stratum corneum (SC) with various hydration levels was studied using differential thermal analysis DSC within the temperature range of –130 to 120°C. SC containing 20% water, resembling the intact condition, shows thermal transitions at around –20°C (representing water in skin), –10, 40, 70°C (representing skin lipids), 85°C (representing protein-associated lipids) and 100°C (representing skin protein). Dehydration of SC causes the transitions at –20 and 100°C to be invisible. Lipid extraction followed by dehydration eliminates all transitions. Further hydration produces a transition of water at around 0°C with a huge change in enthalpy. The perturbation effects of penetration enhancers fatty acids (FA) and propylene glycol (PG) were studied using DTA on SC after pretreatment with PG alone and FA/PG. The application of PG alone shifted the transitions at 70 and 85°C to lower temperatures. Additionally, the application to dehydrated stratum corneum removes the transitions at –10°C. Saturated fatty acids, e.g. nonanoic and decanoic acids, exert barely noticeable effects on the thermal behaviour of SC suggesting that they easily mix with the skin lipids. Thermal analysis also revealed that the cis-9- and 13-isomers of octadecenoic acid (monounsaturated fatty acids) form a separate domain containing mostly the pure fatty acids within the SC lipids and suppress the lipid transitions at 70/80°C. Polyunsaturated fatty acids linoleic and -linolenic acids — form separate domains but do not completely suppress the SC lipid transitions at 70/80°C as monounsaturated acids do. This study suggests different ways of perturbation by various fatty acids. This revised version was published online in November 2005 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

A dense perovskite hollow fiber made of BaCoxFeyZrzO3−δ (BCFZ) was evaluated for the oxygen separation at low temperatures (400–500 °C). An oxygen permeation flux of 0.45 ml/min cm2 was obtained at 500 °C, which is the first oxygen permeation data reported at such low temperature so far. A degradation of the oxygen permeation at 500 °C was observed, but the oxygen fluxes through the hollow fiber membrane can be regenerated by thermal treatment at 925 °C for 1 h in air. Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDXS) shows that a strong element segregation occurs in the membrane during operation at low temperature.  相似文献

Ba0.5Sr0.5Co0.8Fe0.2O3−δ (BSCF) hollow fibers were fabricated using a phase inversion/sintering method. As oxygen permeation of BSCF hollow fibers is controlled by the rate surface exchange kinetics, catalytic Ag particles were coated on both inner and outer surfaces using chemical deposition method, as verified by SEM and EDX. The Ag coated BSCF membranes showed up to 100% increase in oxygen permeation at 700 °C, and improvements lower than 10% were measured at 950 °C as compared with unmodified membranes. It was found that Ag catalyst surface loading was non-homogenous and concentrated on the perovskite grain boundaries. As a result, lighter Ag surface loading delivered improved oxygen flux while oxygen flux reached a maximum even though in the presence of excess catalyst loading. The catalytic activity of Ag was beneficial in enhancing surface reaction kinetics up to 850 °C attributed to the spillover effect. Above this temperature, the increase in oxygen permeation rate was marginally diminished due to the reduction of the spillover effect.  相似文献

A Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 precursor gel made from a sol prepared using 1,1,1,-tris(hydroxymethyl)ethane, lead acetate and zirconium and titanium propoxides, stabilised with acetylacetone, was analysed using TGA–FTIR analysis. Decomposition under nitrogen (N2) gave rise to evolved gas absorbance peaks at 215 °C, 279 °C, 300 °C and 386 °C, but organic vapours continued to be evolved, along with CO2 and CO until 950 °C. The final TGA step in N2 is thought to relate to decomposition of an intermediate carbonate phase and the final elimination of residues of triol or acetylacetonate species which form part of the polymeric gel structure. By contrast, heating in air promoted oxidative pyrolysis of the final organic groups at ≤450 °C. In air, an intermediate carbonate phase was decomposed by heating at 550 °C, allowing Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 to be produced some 400 °C below the equivalent N2 decomposition temperature.  相似文献

Temperature- and pH-sensitive copolymer gels were synthesized by the simultaneously occurring radiation-induced polymerization and self-bridging of acryloyl- -proline methyl ester (A-ProOMe) with acrylic acid (AAc) in aqueous solutions. The gel swelling behavior and the metal permeation characteristic of its gel membrane were investigated with regard to very slight changes of temperature and pH. The pH threshold of the swelling of a copoly(A-ProOMe/AAc, 70/30 mol%) gel in the range of 5–30°C lay in the region between pH 4.0 and 5.0. The permeability results of metal ions showed that at 40°C the gel membrane blocks the permeation of lithium (Li) and cesium (Cs) ions at pH values lower than 4.75 and 4.60, respectively. The permselectivity (PLi/Cs value) of the two metal ions at 30°C was also studied and, as a result, its value was obtained to be 1.33 at pH 4.65 and 30°C. This permeation study indicates that the selective metal separation of copoly(A-ProOMe/AAc) gel membranes can be controlled by changing temperature and pH values.  相似文献

A simple copolymer, poly(NIPAM-co-RD), consisting of N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM) and rhodamine (RD) units, behaves as a fluorescent temperature sensor exhibiting selective fluorescence enhancement at a specific temperature range (25–40 °C) in water. This is driven by a heat-induced phase transition of the polymer from coil to globule. At low temperature, the polymer exists as a polar coil state and shows very weak fluorescence. At >25 °C, the polymer weakly aggregates and forms a less polar domain within the polymer, leading to fluorescence enhancement. However, at >33 °C, strong polymer aggregation leads to a formation of huge polymer particles, which suppresses the incident light absorption by the RD units and shows very weak fluorescence. In the present work, effects of polymer concentration and type of acrylamide unit in the polymer have been investigated. The increase in the polymer concentration in water leads to a formation of less polar domain even at low temperature and, hence, widens the detectable temperature range to lower temperature. Addition of N-n-propylacrylamide (NNPAM) or N-isopropylmethacrylamide (NIPMAM) component to the polymer, which has lower or higher phase transition temperature than that of NIPAM, enables the aggregation temperature of the polymer to shift. This then shifts the detectable temperature region to lower or higher temperature.  相似文献

The effects of incorporation of heterocyclic moieties into fluorinated poly(ether imide) membranes on their gas transport properties were investigated. Four novel fluorinated poly(ether imide) (PEI) membranes were prepared from four different bis(ether amine)s namely, 4,4-bis[3′-trifluromethyl-4′(4′′-aminobenzoxy)bezyl]biphenyl (BAQP); 1,4-bis[3′-trifluromethyl-4′(4′′-aminobenzoxy)bezyl] benzene (BATP); 2,6-bis[3′-trifluromethyl-4′(4′′-aminobenzoxy)bezyl]pyridine (BAPy) and 2,5-bis[3′-trifluromethyl-4′(4′′-aminobenzoxy)bezyl]thiophene (BATh), and a fluorinated dianhydride, 2,2-bis(3,4-dicarboxyphenyl)hexafluoropropane (6FDA) as a common dianhydride. Gas transport properties of these membranes were measured to investigate the effect of chemical structure on gas permeation and diffusion processes over four different gases (e.g., CH4, N2, O2 and CO2) at different temperatures (e.g., 35, 45 and 55 °C) at an applied pressure of 3.5 bar. It has been found that at 35 °C the permselectivities of BAPy and BATh based polymeric membranes (6.4 and 6.6, respectively) toward O2 relative to N2 are higher in comparison to BAQP and BATP (5.5 and 5.3, respectively) containing PEI membranes. The permeability coefficient of CO2 for BAPy and BATh (51.92 and 45.31, respectively at 35 °C) based PEI membranes were observed to be much higher than BAQP and BATP based membranes (36.61 and 33.51, respectively at 35 °C) with comparable selectivity values of CO2 relative to CH4. All these membranes exhibit higher CO2/CH4 selectivity than those of common glassy polymers e.g., cellulose acetate, polysulfone and polycarbonate. The order of permeability of these gases was found as CO2 > O2 > N2 > CH4. The temperature dependency of permeation and diffusion processes enables to calculate the activation energies of the permeation and diffusion processes for these four different gases through four PEI membranes.  相似文献

The phase relations in the Fe-rich part of the pseudo-binary system SrO–Fe2O3 (>33 mol% Fe2O3) were reinvestigated between 800 and 1500 °C in air. A combination of microscopy, electron probe micro-analysis, powder X-ray diffraction and thermal analysis was used to determine phase relations, crystal structure parameters and phase transition temperatures. M-type hexagonal ferrite SrFe12O19 (85.71 mol% Fe2O3) is stable up to 1410 °C. No indication of a significant phase width was found; Sr4Fe6O13±δ appears as a second phase in compositions with <85.71±0.2 mol% Fe2O3. Sr4Fe6O13±δ itself is stable between 800 and 1250 °C. Two other hexagonal ferrites were found to exist at high temperatures only: W-type SrFe2+2Fe3+16O27 is stable between 1350 and 1440 °C and X-type ferrite Sr2Fe2+2Fe3+28O46 between 1350 and 1420 °C, respectively, which is shown here for the first time. These findings in combination with previously published data were used to derive a corrected phase diagram of the Fe-rich part of the pseudo-binary system SrO–Fe2O3.  相似文献

This paper discusses the gas permeation properties of poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO)-based segmented block copolymers containing monodisperse amide segments. These monodisperse segments give rise to a well phase-separated morphology, comprising a continuous PEO phase with dispersed crystallised amide segments. The influence of the polyether phase composition and of the temperature on the permeation properties of various gases (i.e., CO2, N2, He, CH4, O2 and H2) as well as on the pure gas selectivities were studied in the temperature range of −5 °C to 75 °C. The CO2 permeability increased strongly with PEO concentration, and this effect could partly be explained by the dispersed hard segment concentration and partly by the changing chain flexibility. By decreasing the PEO melting temperature the low temperature permeabilities were improved. The gas transport values were dependant on both the dispersed hard segment concentration and the polyether segment length (length between crosslinks). The gas selectivities were dependant on the polyether segment length and thus the chain flexibility.  相似文献

A practical procedure suitable for large scale lithiation of N-tosylindoles and subsequent addition to ketones is described. Bis(N,N-dimethylaminoethyl) ether was found to stabilize 2-lithio-N-tosylindole 1A at −25 °C [The temperatures cited are internal temperatures unless otherwise stated]. Addition of this reagent allows the lithiation of N-tosyl indoles and subsequent addition to ketones to operate at −25 °C, a temperature suitable for large scale reactions.  相似文献

We report the variation of the molecular assembly and crystallinity of polyethylene-block-poly(ethylene oxide) (EEO, 1400 g mol−1) in a non initiated liquid resin of unsaturated polyester (UP). We particularly focus on the driving force that governs the variation of the molecular assembly of the block copolymer in the UP resin upon heating. For this purpose, we performed a set of experiments combining time resolved in situ SAXS and WAXS measurements upon heating and cooling. Upon heating, SAXS shows that the inter-distance of the EEO domains decreases dramatically for temperature above 75 °C (between 90 and 30 nm for the initial system at room temperature vs 9 nm at 110 °C) suggesting that the initially homogeneously dispersed EEO domains undergo aggregation. This is consistent with the macroscopic phase separation observed in such temperature range. In situ WAXS shows that the onset of the aggregation coincides with the melting of the PE domains suggesting that the flexibility of the platelets plays an important role in their aggregation. Upon cooling, peculiar behaviour is observed for the systems with higher EEO content, with an irreversible structure formation leading to macroscopic EEO rich domains dispersed in continuous UP rich phase.  相似文献

Temperature-sensitive hydrophilic gel microcapsules have been newly prepared. That is, poly ( -lysineisopropylamide–terephthalic acid) microcapsules containing water have been obtained by an interfacial polymerization at a water/oil interface between -lysineisopropylamide and terephthaloyldichloride. The microcapsule changes its size between 33 and 35°C. Under 33°C, the microcapsules are fully spherical and can be redispersed in distilled water, while are aggregated above 35°C. The microcapsules, which are observed to show aggregation above 33°C, can be redispersed by decreasing temperature within a few second. The thermosensitive morphological changes of the microcapsules are thus reversible. Also, it has been shown that the permeability of sodium chloride through the microcapsule membrane changes remarkably between 33 and 35°C, while it is kept almost constant independent of temperature between 25 and 33°C or between 35 and 55°C. The permeability of solutes is higher under 33°C than that above 35°C. Such thermosensitive properties result from the fact that the polymer membrane has isopropylamide groups. That is, -lysineisopropylamide has a chemical structure similar to N-isopropylacrylamide, the polymer of which, poly (N-isopropylacrylamide), is a thermosensitive hydrogel having its phase transition temperature around 33°C.  相似文献

Several non-random lipid mixtures have been proposed as models of lipid plasma membrane, as they mimic the ability of biomembranes to form lateral domains. Biological membranes are characterised by a succession of localised transient steady-state lipid organisations rather than stable equilibria. This suggests that several quasi at-equilibrium lipid organisations may exist at different times in the same local patch of membranes. Identification of the conditions which can mimic heterogeneous dynamic membrane states in a lipid membrane model is a challenge. This is of particular importance as the lateral organisation of lipids mixtures in fully equilibrated samples may differ from the arrangement found in quasi at-equilibrium conditions. To address this issue, we have performed a real-time synchrotron X-ray diffraction study in ternary mixtures of egg-phosphatidylcholine/egg-sphingomyelin and cholesterol using a 0.5 °C/15 s step within a 20–50–20 °C thermal cycle. In the present study, all ternary mixtures displayed lamellar phase separation. A d-spacing value was observed reversibly during the heating and cooling scan for each of the two coexisting phases. In mixtures with a cholesterol concentration from 20 to 50 mol%, a liquid-ordered (Lo) and liquid-disordered (Ld) phase separation was observed in the 20–50 °C thermal range. These results are discussed in terms of a specific interaction between lipid molecular aggregates.  相似文献

The crystal structures of 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (dabco)-templated iron sulfate, (C6H14N2)[Fe(H2O)6](SO4)2, were determined at room temperature and at −173 °C from single-crystal X-ray diffraction. At 20 °C, it crystallises in the monoclinic symmetry, centrosymmetric space group P21/n, Z=2, a=7.964(5), b=9.100(5), c=12.065(5) Å, β=95.426(5)° and V=870.5(8) Å3. The structure consists of [Fe(H2O)6]2+ and disordered (C6H14N2)2+ cations and (SO4)2− anions connected together by an extensive three-dimensional H-bond network. The title compound undergoes a reversible phase transition of the first-order at −2.3 °C, characterized by DSC, dielectric measurement and optical observations, that suggests a relaxor–ferroelectric behavior. Below the transition temperature, the compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system, non-centrosymmetric space group Cc, with eight times the volume of the ambient phase: a=15.883(3), b=36.409(7), c=13.747(3) Å, β=120.2304(8)°, Z=16 and V=6868.7(2) Å3. The organic moiety is then fully ordered within a supramolecular structure. Thermodiffractometry and thermogravimetric analyses indicate that its decomposition proceeds through three stages giving rise to the iron oxide.  相似文献

The hollow fiber composite membrane involving Zr0.84Y0.16O1.92 (YSZ) as an oxygen ionic conductor and La0.8Sr0.2MnO3−δ (LSM) as an electronic conductor was explored for oxygen separation application. The hollow fiber precursor was prepared by the phase-inversion process, and transformed to a gas-tight ceramic by sintering at 1350 °C. The as-prepared fiber exhibited a thermal expansion coefficient of 11.1 × 10−6 K−1 and a three-point bending strength of 152 ± 12 MPa. An oxygen permeation flux of 2.1 × 10−7 mol cm−2 s−1 was obtained under air/He gradient at 950 °C for a hollow fiber of length 57.00 mm and wall thickness 0.16 mm. The oxygen permeation flux remained unchanged when the sweeping gas was changed from helium to high concentration of CO2. Considering the satisfactory trade-off between the permeability and stability, the YSZ–LSM hollow fiber is promising for oxygen production applications.  相似文献

A new aromatic diamine monomer, N-(4-(9H-carbazol-9-yl)phenyl)-3,5-diaminobenzamide, was successfully prepared in four steps using carbazole as starting material and polymerized with three aromatic tetracaboxylic acid dianhydrides via the conventional two-stage synthesis including the polyaddition and chemical cyclodehydration to produce a series of the aromatic polyimides. The polyimides were characterized by FT-IR, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) and thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA) analysis. The polyimides with inherent viscosities in the range of 0.38–0.46 dL/g showed excellent solubility in various solvents such as N-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone (NMP), N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAc), N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF), pyridine and dioxane. DSC showed the glass transition temperatures (Tg) in the range of 277–288 °C. TGA showed that all polymers were stable, with 10% weights loss recorded above 524 °C in air atmosphere. Preliminary tests on films of the polyimides indicate that the materials are brittle.  相似文献

Vesicles containing rhodamine B were prepared by evaporation and hydration method using N-[3-(dimethylamino)propyl]-octadecanamide (DMAPODA) and stearic acid (SA). The vesicles were multi-lamellar on optical and electron micrographs. The mean size of vesicle was 807.9 nm and the values markedly increased by the addition of copolymers of N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM) and methacrylic acid (MAA) (P(NIPAM-co-MAA)), possibly due to electrostatic interactions between the cationic vesicle and the anionic copolymer. The release of rhodamine B from the vesicles for 20 h was 50–60% at neutral pHs and the values increased up to 93.1% when pH decreased to 3. The increased release is possibly because the salt bridge formed between DMAPODA and SA was broken down at the acidic pH, leading to the disintegration of the vesicles. On the other hand, the release was not as sensitive to temperature as it was to pH. The salt bridge seemed to be stable at the temperatures of the release experiments (23 °C, 33 °C and 43 °C). P(NIPAM-co-MAA) was added to the suspension of the vesicle and the release was investigated with varying pHs and temperatures. The copolymer was pH- and temperature-sensitive in terms of the turbidity change of its solution. Nevertheless, the copolymer was found to have little effect on the pH- and temperature-dependent release of the vesicles.  相似文献

Phase equilibria in the ternary systems Mn, Fe, Co, and Ni---Si---N are investigated and isothermal sections at 900°C (Fe---Si---N, Ni---Si---N), at 1000°C (Mn---Si---N, Co---Si---N) and at 1150°C (Fe---Si---N) are presented. In the system Mn---Si---N, Si3N4 coexists with MnSiN2, Mn3Si, Mn5Si3, MnSi, and MnSi2−x. In the systems Fe, Co, Ni---Si---N, Si3N4 coexists with all binary silicides but reacts rapidly with iron above 1120 ± 10°C, and cobalt and nickel above 1170 ± 10°C to form binary silicides and nitrogen gas.  相似文献

In a traditional quartz crystal microbalance (QCM), an AT-cut (cut angle φ = 35.25° in yxl orientation) quartz wafer is employed because it has low frequency–temperature coefficients (dF/dT) at room temperature region. But when a QCM is in contact with a liquid phase, its frequency is also related to the properties of the liquid, which are temperature dependent. The value of dF/dT is about 20 Hz/°C for a 9 MHz AT-cut QCM with one side facing water. In this work, a group of QCMs in new cut angles were prepared. The influence of the cut angle on the frequency–temperature characteristic, response sensitivities to surface mass loading and viscodensity of liquid were investigated. An intrinsically temperature-compensated QCM sensor that possesses low dF/dT values in aqueous solution was reported. When a 9 MHz QCM with φ = 35.65° was contacted with water with one side, its dF/dT value is close to zero at ca. 25 °C and its averaged value of |dF/dT| is only 0.6 Hz/°C in the temperature range of 23–27 °C. The frequency responses to surface mass loading and viscodensity of liquid phase are very close among the QCMs with the cut angles in the range of 35.15–35.7°. The intrinsically temperature-compensated QCM was applied to investigate the alternate adsorption processes of cationic polyelectrolyte and silica nanoparticle.  相似文献
