We report a number of different homologous series with a heterocycle incorporated in the molecular core near the chiral chain. Two of these series differ in the type of chiral chain, -CH*(CH3)C6H13 or -CH*(CH3)-CO2-C4H9. Their properties are compared and found to show completely different polymorphism. The first series exhibits only SmC* and SmA phases whereas the second possesses TGB, N* and BP phases. The mesomorphic properties were studied by optical microscopy, DSC and electro-optical measurements. The effect of substitution of the phenyl ring near the chiral chain by a heterocycle is discussed.  相似文献

The electron transmission and dissociative electron attachment spectra of the 1-chloroalkyl benzene derivatives, C(6)H(5)(CH(2))(3)Cl and C(6)H(5)(CH(2))(4)Cl, and of the sulfur and silicon derivatives, C(6)H(5)SCH(2)Cl, C(6)H(5)Si(CH(3))(2)CH(2)Cl and C(6)H(5)CH(2)Si(CH(3))(2)CH(2)Cl, are presented for the first time. The relative Cl(-) fragment anion currents generated by electron attachment to the benzene pi* LUMO are measured in the series C(6)H(5)(CH(2))(n)Cl, with n = 1-4, and in the heteroatomic compounds. The Cl(-) yield reflects the rate of intramolecular electron transfer between the pi-system and the remote chlorine atom, which in turn depends on the extent of through-bond coupling between the localized pi* and sigma*(Cl-C) orbitals. In compounds C(6)H(5)(CH(2))(n)Cl the Cl(-) current rapidly decreases with increasing length of the saturated chain. This decrease is significantly attenuated when a carbon atom of the alkyl skeleton is replaced with a third-row heteroatom. This greater ability to promote through-bond coupling between the pi* and sigma*(Cl-C) orbitals is attributed to the sizably lower energy of the empty sigma*(S-C) and sigma*(Si-C) orbitals with respect to the sigma*(C-C) orbitals. In the sulfur derivative the increase of the Cl(-) current is larger than in the silicon analogue. In this case, however, other negative fragments are observed, due to dissociation of the S-C bonds.  相似文献

Two new chiral series, with benzoate cores and monofluoro-substitution in positions 2 and 3 of the first phenyl ring near the chiral chain, have been synthesized and characterized. The mesomorphic properties have been analysed by optical microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry and electro-optical measurements. The first series (Ic) displays a very rich polymorphism including SmA, SmC*α, SmC*, SmC*FI, SmC*A phases, whereas the second (Ib) does not exhibit the SmC*A phase, and moreover only displays the SmA phase for short alkoxy chains. The effect of the position of the fluoro substituent and the influence of the alkoxy chain length on the mesomorphic behaviour are discussed.  相似文献

Compounds with differing numbers of lactate units in the chiral part were synthesized. For all materials, at least two smectic phases were found. In addition to the SmA, the SmC* and/or the tilted hexatic SmI*(F*) phase appear according to the length of the non-chiral alkyl chain. For the shortest non-chiral chain, a direct transition from the SmA phase to the SmI*(F*) phase has been discovered and studied. For compounds with the 2-(S)-methylbutyl alkyl chain and two lactate units in the chiral part the antiferroelectric SmC*A phase occurs. The ferroelectric character of the hexatic phase has been confirmed even just below the SmC*A phase.  相似文献

Two types of side group polysiloxanes which differ in their spacer between backbone and mesogenic part were synthesized via polymer analogous reaction. The impact of an oxygen atom localized in the γ position to the siloxane main chain on the ferroelectric properties was investigated. In addition, the link between the terminal chiral moiety and the mesogenic part in each series was varied. The phase transition behaviour, spontaneous polarization and the electro-optical response time for the two series of polymers are compared. The mesophase structures were determined by X-ray measurements on magnetically oriented samples at different temperatures. The additional oxygen atom in the spacer near to the main chain leads to broader range smectic C* phases and shorter electro-optical response times, which suggests that the ether linkage promotes a better decoupling between main chain and mesogenic side group.  相似文献

A series of novel fluorotitanophosphates with a general formula (NH4)xK4 - x[Ti2PO4F9] (x = 0, 0.70, 1.00, 1.25, named as 1, 2, 3, and 4 respectively) have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. Their structures were determined by X-ray single-crystal diffraction technique, which show that all of the phases in this series contain an idental anionic fluorotitanophosphate chain, consisting of alternating linkage of PO4 tetrahedra and TiO2F4 octahedra. The fluorotitanophosphate chain is unique, which is different from the first titanophosphate chain found in [Ti3P6O27].5[NH3CH2-CH2NH3].2H3O. Another interesting observation of this series is that, by partial substitution of potassium by ammonium, the structure converts to a more-symmetric version, while maintaining all of the topological feature.  相似文献

The intermolecular photoinduced electron transfer (PET) processes of 1,8-naphthalimide (NI) derivatives including NI-linker-phenothiazine dyads were investigated in a protic H(2)O/CH(3)CN (v/v=1:1) solvent using ns-laser flash photolysis with 355 nm-laser excitation. NI derivatives are surrounded by H(2)O in the ground state in H(2)O/CH(3)CN. The T(1)-T(n) absorption band of (3)NI* was observed at around 470 nm. The transient absorption band at around 410 nm increased concomitantly with the decay of (3)NI* in H(2)O/CH(3)CN. This implies that hydrated NI anion radical (NI*(-)) is primarily generated via the quenching of (3)NI* by NI at the diffusion control rate. This intermolecular PET did not occur in aprotic CH(3)CN. The formation and decay times of NI*(-) showed strong dependence on the concentration of NI. Then, we suggest that NI*(-) could undergo proton abstraction to give ketyl radical species of NI [NI(H)*] in H(2)O/CH(3)CN.  相似文献

The [{TiCp*(micro-O)}3(mu3-CH)] (1) metalloligand, (Cp* = eta5-C5Me5), coordinates in a 1:1 ratio to [AlMe3] or 9-BBN to give [{Me3Al}{(mu3-O)(mu-O)2(TiCp)2(TiCp)3(mu3-CH)}](2) or [{(C8H14)B}(mu-H) {(mu3-O)(mu-O)2(TiCp*)3(mu3-CH)}](4), respectively, partial hydrolysis of 2 leads to the new hydroxo-aluminium derivative [{MeAl} {(mu-OH)(mu3-O)}2{(mu-O)2(TiCp*)3-(mu3-CH)}2](3).  相似文献

The unusual and unique ability of O2 as target gas in kV collision-induced dissociations, to enhance a specific fragmentation of a mass selected ion, has been examined in detail. The affected dissociations studied were the loss of CH3* from CH3CH+X (X = OH, CH3, NH2, SH); CH3* and C1* loss from CH3C+(C1)CH3; C2H5* loss from CH3CH2CH+X (X = OH and NH2); H* loss from +CH2OH and +CH2NH2; O loss from 1,2-, 1,3-, and 1,4-C6H4(NO2)2+*; CH3NO+*; C6HsNO2+*; C5H5NO+* (pyridine N-oxide); 3- and 4-CH3C5H4NO+*. A general explanation of the phenomena, which was semiquantitatively tested in the present work, can be summarized as follows: the ion - O2 encounter excites the target molecules to their 3sigma(g)- state which resonantly return this energy to electronic state(s) in the ion. The excited ion now contains a sharp excess of a narrow range of internal energies, thus significantly and only enhancing fragmentations whose activation energies lie within this small energy manifold.  相似文献

Three gaseous acyclic distonic acylium ions: *CH2-CH2-C+=O, *CH2-CH2-CH2-C+=O, and *CH2=C(CH2)-C+=O, are found to display dual free radical and acylium ion reactivity; with appropriate neutrals, they react selectively either as free radicals with inert charge sites, or (and more pronouncedly) as acylium ions with inert radical sites. The free radical reactivity of the ions is demonstrated via the Kenttamaa reaction: CH3S* abstraction with the spin trap dimethyl disulfide; their ion reactivity by two reactions most characteristic of acylium ions: transacetalization with 2-methyl-1,3-dioxolane and the gas-phase Meerwein reaction, that is, expansion of the three-membered epoxide ring of epichlorohydrin to the five-membered 1,3-dioxolanylium ion ring. In "one-pot" reactions with gaseous mixtures of epichlorohydrin and dimethyl disulfide, the ions react selectively at either site, but more readily at the acylium charge site, to form the two mono-derivatized ions. Further reaction at either the remaining free radical or acylium charge site forms a single bi-derivatized ion as the final product. Becke3LYP/6-31G(d) calculations predict the reactions at the acylium charge sites of the three distonic ions to be highly exothermic, and both the "hot" transacetalization and epoxide ring expansion products of *CH2-CH2-CH2-C+=O to dissociate rapidly by H2C=CH2 loss in overall exothermic processes. The calculations also predict highly spatially separate odd spin and charge sites for the novel cyclic distonic ketal ions formed by the reactions at the acylium charge sites.  相似文献

The electrochemical reduction of a bicyclic hexaimino Schiff base cryptand 1 (N[(CH2)2N-CH-meta-C6H4-CH=N(CH2)2]3N) and that of one of its strands 2 ((CH3)2CH-N=CH-meta-C6H4-CH=N-CH(CH3)2) has been studied by visible and near infrared in-situ spectroelectrochemical techniques. These results are in good agreement with those obtained using alkali metals, but in this case the effect of the formation of ion pairs is minimized through the use of tetrabutylammonium cations. It is confirmed that 1- and 1= have the same visible and near IR spectrum. The spectrum of the products of the electrochemical reduction of 2 is similar to those of 1- or 1=.  相似文献

Cp*(2)ZrH(2) (1) (Cp* = pentamethylcyclopentadienyl) reacts with perfluoropropene (2) to give Cp*(2)ZrHF (3) and hydrodefluorinated products under very mild conditions. Initial C-F bond activation occurs selectively at the vinylic terminal position of the olefin to exchange fluorine for hydrogen. Subsequent hydrodefluorination leads to the formation of the n-propylhydride complex Cp*(2)ZrH(CH(2)CH(2)CH(3)), which can be cleaved with dihydrogen to give propane and 1. A theoretical study of the reaction of Cp*(2)ZrH(2) (Cp* = cyclopentadienyl) and CF(2)[double bond]CF(CF(3)) has been undertaken. Several mechanisms have been examined in detail using DFT(B3PW91) calculations and are discussed for this H/F exchange: (a) internal olefin insertion/beta-fluoride elimination, (b) external olefin insertion/beta-fluoride elimination, and (c) F/H metathesis from either an inside or outside approach. Of these, the first case is found to be energetically preferred. Selective defluorination at the terminal carbon has been shown to be favored over defluorination at the substituted and allylic carbons.  相似文献

The monoynes [Rc*C[triple bond]CRc*] and [Rc'C[triple bond]CRc'] were obtained in improved yields using [Mo(CO)6]/2-FC6H5OH as a catalyst in the alkyne metathesis of [Rc*C[triple bond]CMe] and [Rc'C[triple bond]CMe], respectively (Rc = ruthenocenyl, Rc* = 1',2',3',4',5'-pentamethylruthenocenyl, and Rc' = 2',3',4',5'-tetramethylruthenocenyl groups). The diynes [Rc*(C[triple bond]C)2Rc*] and [Rc'(C[triple bond]C)2Rc'] were synthesized by the oxidative coupling of the corresponding terminal ethynes in good yields. The triyne [Rc*(C[triple bond]C)3Rc*] and the tetrayne [Rc*(C[triple bond]C)4Rc*] were prepared by the hetero- and homocoupling of [Rc*C[triple bond]CC[triple bond]CH], which was obtained from the reaction of [Rc*C[triple bond]CCHO] with Li[N2CSiMe3], respectively. Although the oxidation waves did not always exhibit a clear two-electron oxidation process, the oxidation potentials shifted to a lower potential with an increase in the number of methyl substituents on the ruthenocenyl ring, and shifted to a higher potential with the increase in the number of C[triple bond]C units; this result is in contrast to that found in the [Rc(CH=CH)(n)Rc] series. The chemical oxidation of [Rc'C[triple bond]CRc'] yielded a stable two-electron-oxidized species, the structure of which was confirmed by X-ray crystallography to be [Ru2(mu2-eta(6):eta(6)-C5Me4C=CC5Me4)(eta-C5H5)2](BF4)2. Changing the substituents (Rc, Rc*, and Rc') had no effect on the chemical oxidation, but in the case of the Rc' series the Me substituent increased the stability of the two-electron-oxidized species in solution. The diyne [Rc*(C[triple bond]C)2Rc*] and the triyne [Rc*(C[triple bond]C)3Rc*] also gave a similar but unstable two-electron-oxidized species. In acetone or acetonitrile, the two-electron-oxidized species of [Rc*C[triple bond]CRc*] and [Rc*(C[triple bond]C)2Rc*] gradually formed the corresponding bis(fulvene)-type complexes. This implies that the two-electron-oxidized species of [Rc*(C[triple bond]C)(n)Rc*] are destabilized with the increasing n.  相似文献

The ferrocenic ammonium (Rp)- and (Sp)-[1-CH2NR(3-)-2-CH3-C5H3Fe-C5H5] iodide salts with R=CH3, C2H5, n-C3H7, n-C4H9, were synthesized starting from the (Rp)- and (Sp)-[1-CH2N(CH3)2-2-CH3-C5H3Fe-C5H5] amines obtained in their optically active forms through asymmetric cyclopalladation of [C5H5Fe-C5H4CH2N(CH3)2]. 1H NMR studies of these planar chiral 1,2-disubstituted ferrocenic ammonium iodide salts in the presence of the (Delta)-(tris(tetrachlorobenzenediolato)phosphate(V) anion), [(Delta)-Trisphat] support the formation of specific diastereomeric ion pairs. Such intermolecular interactions can be related to the self-assembly of the two-dimensional optically active compounds [[(Sp)-1-CH2N(n-C3H7)3-2-CH3-C5H3Fe-C5H5][Mn (Delta)-Cr(C2O4)3]] and [[(Rp)-1-CH2N(n-C3H7)3-2-CH3-C5H3Fe-C5H5][Mn (Lambda)-Cr(C2O4)3]] starting from the resolved (Rp)- and (Sp)-[1-CH2N(n-C3H7)3-2-CH3-C5H3Fe-C5H5]+ ion associated to the racemic anionic building block rac-[Cr(C2O4)3]3- and Mn2+. Both enantiomeric forms of the networks behave as ferromagnets with a Curie temperature of 5.7 K.  相似文献

Thermolysis of Cp*W(NO)(CH2CMe3)(eta(3)-CH2CHCHMe) (1) at ambient temperatures leads to the loss of neopentane and the formation of the eta(2)-diene intermediate, Cp*W(NO)(eta(2)-CH2=CHCH=CH2) (A), which has been isolated as its 18e PMe3 adduct. In the presence of linear alkanes, A effects C-H activations of the hydrocarbons exclusively at their terminal carbons and forms 18e Cp*W(NO)(n-alkyl)(eta(3)-CH2CHCHMe) complexes. Similarly, treatments of 1 with methylcyclohexane, chloropentane, diethyl ether, and triethylamine all lead to the corresponding terminal C-H activation products. Furthermore, a judicious choice of solvents permits the C-H activation of gaseous hydrocarbons (i.e., propane, ethane, and methane) at ambient temperatures under moderately elevated pressures. However, reactions between intermediate A and cyclohexene, acetone, 3-pentanone, and 2-butyne lead to coupling between the eta(2)-diene ligand and the site of unsaturation on the organic molecule. For example, Cp*W(NO)(eta(3),eta(1)-CH2CHCHCH2C(CH2CH3)2O) is formed exclusively in 3-pentanone. When the site of unsaturation is sufficiently sterically hindered, as in the case of 2,3-dimethyl-2-butene, C-H activation again becomes dominant, and so the C-H activation product, Cp*W(NO)(eta(1)-CH2CMe=CMe2)(eta(3)-CH2CHCHMe), is formed exclusively from the alkene and 1. All new complexes have been characterized by conventional spectroscopic and analytical methods, and the solid-state molecular structures of most of them have been established by X-ray crystallographic analyses. Finally, the newly formed alkyl ligands may be liberated from the tungsten centers in the product complexes by treatment with iodine. Thus, exposure of a CDCl3 solution of the n-pentyl allyl complex, Cp*W(NO)(n-C5H11)(eta(3)-CH2CHCHMe), to I2 at -60 degrees C produces n-C5H11I in moderate yields.  相似文献

A series of aryl-substituted N-hydroxyphthalimides (X-NHPIs) containing either electron-withdrawing groups (4-CH(3)OCO, 3-F) or electron-donating groups (4-CH(3), 4-CH(3)O, 3-CH(3)O, 3,6-(CH(3)O)(2)) have been used as catalysts in the aerobic oxidation of primary and secondary benzylic alcohols. The selective formation of aromatic aldehydes was observed in the oxidation of primary alcohols; aromatic ketones were the exclusive products in the oxidation of secondary alcohols. O-H bond dissociation enthalpies (BDEs) of X-NHPIs have been determined by using the EPR radical equilibration technique. BDEs increase with increasing the electron-withdrawing properties of the aryl substituent. Kinetic isotope effect studies and the increase of the substrate oxidation rate by increasing the electron-withdrawing power of the NHPI aryl substituent indicate a rate-determining benzylic hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) from the alcohol to the aryl-substituted phthalimide-N-oxyl radical (X-PINO). Besides enthalpic effects, polar effects also play a role in the HAT process, as shown by the negative rho values of the Hammett correlation with sigma(+) and by the decrease of the rho values (from -0.54 to -0.70) by increasing the electron-withdrawing properties of the NHPI aryl substituent. The relative reactivity of 3-CH(3)O-C(6)H(4)CH(2)OH and 3,4-(CH(3)O)(2)-C(6)H(3)CH(2)OH, which is higher than expected on the basis of the sigma(+) values, the small values of relative reactivity of primary vs secondary benzylic alcohols, and the decrease of the rho values by increasing the electron-withdrawing properties of the NHPI aryl substituent, suggest that the HAT process takes place inside a charge-transfer (CT) complex formed by the X-PINO and the benzylic alcohol.  相似文献

A new series of chiral mesogens: (R) 4-(1-methylheptyloxycarbonyl)phenyl 4-(4-alkyloxyphenyl)ethylylbenzoates has been synthesized. All materials are mesomorphic and the liquid crystalline properties were characterized by optical observation, DSC and electro-optical measurements. They display SmA and ferroelectric SmC* phases at low temperatures. One of them, the nonyloxy derivative, exhibits the SmC*alpha phase, present in different 'antiferroelectric' series. This behaviour is confirmed by mixture studies. Furthermore one compound of the series, the heptyloxy derivative, C37H48O5 crystallizes in the P21 space group (Z=2) with the following parameters: a=8.497 (1), b=5.490 (1), c=36.148 (4)A with beta 92.72 (1) . The final R and wR reliability factors were equal to 0.109 and 0.124, respectively; the goodness of fit was equal to 3.0. The whole molecule is L-shaped with the long chiral chain almost perpendicular to the core moiety as observed for several compounds showing an antiferroelectric mesophase. In the crystal, the molecules related through the 2 1 axis, located at z=0.5, give an antiparallel smectic C-like arrangement. The thickness of the sheets is equal to the c parameter, with a tilt angle close to 35 . There are strong intersheet interactions between the chiral chains related through the 2 1 axes located at z=0 and 1.  相似文献

Three homologous series of chiral materials derived from (S)-2-(6-hydroxy-2-naphthly)propionic acid with a methyleneoxy linking group were synthesized for the investigation of mesomorphic properties. All the materials displayed enantiotropic SmA* and SmC* phases. The spontaneous polarization (P s) and optical tilt angles in the SmC* phase of the chiral materials were measured. The maximum spontaneous polarizations are in the range 12.3-19.1 nC cm-2. No significant difference could be found in the P s values with respect to the various alkyl chiral chain lengths, n. The maximum optical tilt angles are in the range 25-30°. The optical tilt angles decrease with the increase in alkyl chain length, n.  相似文献
