The scattering of an helium nozzle beam (incident energy 21 and 63 meV) from a copper (117) stepped surface has been studied for crystal temperature ranging from 70 to 773 K. The diffraction pattern from the step array is readily seen. The influence of residual impurity on the surface is carefully discussed. Special attention has been paid to the influence of experimental factors upon peak shapes. True peak amplitudes are deduced. The peak intensities versus temperature and versus incidence angle has been measured. Extrapolation of the intensities to 0 K allows a direct comparison of the data with the prediction of a hard corrugated wall model. A corrugation profile is given which fits quite well the data. Clear evidence for resonances with bound states has been found. Three energy levels of the potential well are thus determined (5.9,4.0, 2.1 meV) which agrees with a Morse or a 3–9 potential.  相似文献

In this work, the temperature dependence of the intensities of the IR absorption bands corresponding to the fundamental vibrations, overtones and combination frequencies of diphenyl is presented. A thorough discussion of the interpretation of the fundamental modes of vibration has been made on the basis of the temperature dependence of the intensities of these absorption bands.The structure of the diphenyl molecule has been the subject of numerous investigations. Despite a considerable amount of work on the Raman(1), IR(3,4,5) and ultraviolet (2) spectra, the assignment of the fundamental frequencies has not yet been established with certainty, Some assistance can be obtained from the temperature dependence of the IR spectrum of this material.  相似文献

Extreme ultraviolet radiation emitted from He plasma has been studied by means of photoelectron energy analyzer. Relative and absolute intensities of Lyman series of ionized helium have been measured. A possible influence of a boundary layer between the plasma and a shock tube wall on the Paschen continuum intensities has been checked for a simple boundary-layer model. The results show that the measured continuum intensities, with a boundary layer thinner than 1 mm, may differ appreciably from intensities measured when the thickness of the boundary layer is negligible. It has also been shown that there is a temperature for every electron density when the continuum intensity is independent of the boundary-layer thickness provided it is small compared with the plasma radius.  相似文献

An analysis of the effect of temperature on the integrated intensities of NMR bands has revealed that it is possible, by using the dependence of the integrated intensities of high-resolution NMR spectra on temperature, to determine the activation energies of the motional modes or the product of the relaxation times, T1T2, of the individual proton groups. The procedure has been verified for samples of benzene and for polyethylene oxide, polyisobutylene and poly(methyl methacrylate) solutions.  相似文献

Development work with solid materials at the Argonne National Laboratory ECR ion sources has been focused on two areas-introduction of materials with low vapour pressures,and increasing the beam intensities of heavy beams(i.e.-lead and uranium).An induction oven,with a demonstrated operating temperature extending to 2000℃,has been utilized to produce a Ti-50 beam with an intensity of 5.5eμA (12 ).In addition,a refinement of the sputter technique has been employed which has resulted in a 42% improvement in lead beam intensities.Details of the induction oven as well as the refined sputter technique will be presented.  相似文献

An original procedure has been developed for the quantitative analysis and microstructural interpretation of angle-resolved X-ray photoelectron spectra (AR-XPS) of very thin (<6 nm), multi-element oxide films as grown on metallic binary alloy substrates by, e.g., thermal or plasma oxidation. To this end, first an approach has been given to retrieve the different metallic, oxidic and oxygen primary zero-loss (PZL) intensities from the measured AR-XPS spectra of the bare and oxidized alloy. The principal equations for the determination of the oxide-film thickness, composition and constitution from the resolved PZL intensities have been presented. On this basis, various corresponding calculation routes have been distinguished. The procedure has been applied to the case of very thin (<6 nm), mixed (Mg, Al)-oxide films on bare Mg-based MgAl substrates as grown by dry, thermal oxidation at room temperature. The results obtained on the thickness, composition, defect structure and constitution of the oxide-film have been discussed as function of the bulk Al alloying content and the applied partial pressure of oxygen.  相似文献

A single crystal neutron diffraction study of the low temperature structural phase transitions in LiKSO4 has been carried out. Detailed temperature dependence of the Bragg peak profiles and integrated intensities for a group of about 20 reflections has been investigated upon cooling and heating in the temperature range 300 K to 96 K. The crystal undergoes three clear phase transitions at 205 K (from sp. gr. P63 to sp. gr. P31c), at 189 K and at about 135 K on cooling. The corresponding temperatures are 250 K, 190 K and 138 K on the heating cycle. These transitions are extremely sluggish, the kinetics depending on the thermal treatment of the crystal.  相似文献

The effect of the temperature dependence of the free-electron radiative recombination time on the onset of absorption optical bistability has been considered within the point-charge model. The existence of multistable states and the possibility of reducing by tens of times the switching temperatures and intensities and the differences between their corresponding values have been revealed. This permits one to reduce considerably the energy expended per switching event and, hence, to increase the speed of response of a bistable system.  相似文献

In the experiences carried out on the capacitively excited high-frequency helium discharges at pressures of 10?3?10?2 Torr, a spectral line intensities redistribution in helium spectrum in function of applied steady magnetic field magnitude has been observed. The magnetic field application modifies also the plasma dispersive properties, which are reflected in the variable relative weight of the h.f. field harmonics. The experiences evidenced an electron temperature dependence on the relative h.f. harmonics intensities, confirming the previous researche conclusion concerning the electron temperature increase with the electric field frequency.  相似文献

从洛伦兹线型极光的干涉强度、调制度与光程差的理论公式出发,用λ/4的步进光程差即“四强度法”获得一个波长范围内的4个干涉强度值,以实现基于洛伦兹线型极光的上层大气的风速、温度、压强等物理量的探测。提出用改形萨尼亚克成像干涉仪替代迈克耳孙干涉仪实现上层大气风场,给出了基准光程差的公式,并用四面角锥棱镜镀膜技术获得4个干涉强度值来同时探测上层大气风场的模式。最后在实验室将Kr灯557.0nm调整光束到一定宽度,对称地从顶角为60°的两面镀膜角锥棱镜的顶点入射,用768pixel×576pixel的CCD照相机接收到两个光斑的成像,这两个光斑的再复制就得到镀膜四面角锥棱镜在一个周期内的4个干涉强度光斑,从而获得上层大气风场。  相似文献

Low-power-threshold cw laser-induced incandescence (CWLII) has been observed in La(2)O(3):Er(3+)-Yb(3+) phosphor on excitation by a 976 nm IR laser. It is suggested that incandescence originates from the extensive heating induced by the nonradiative processes taking place following the laser excitation. Other mechanisms for similar observations have also been suggested in the literature and have been discussed with the present observations. The estimated temperature for the CWLII approaches around 2650 K, and this seems to provide an effective way to rapidly attain high temperature in nano/microvolumes of phosphor. The phosphor exhibited efficient upconversion, and the ratio of the (2)H(11/2)→(4)I(15/2) and (4)S(3/2)→(4)I(15/2) band intensities of Er(3+) permits measurement of the temperature rise, from a distance.  相似文献

We have developed a prototype of a diode-laser absorption spectrometer for noncontact determination of the temperature and concentration of water vapor in the combustion zone of mixed supersonic flows. The method is based on fast scanning of the radiation frequencies of two diode lasers in different spectral ranges containing several absorption lines of water molecules, determining the integral intensities of selected lines, and calculating the medium temperature from the intensity ratio of these lines. The described version of the spectrometer allows one to determine the parameters of the gas medium at high pressures (up to 3 atm) and temperatures (up to 2000 K). The criterion of selection of the spectral scanning ranges of the lasers is described, which is based on minimizing the error of determining the temperature at the expected experimental measurement accuracy of the integral intensities of lines. A program for selection of appropriate combinations of lines from spectroscopic databases has been developed. An algorithm for obtaining the temperature by fitting experimental spectra and theoretical spectra simulated using databases has been developed. Errors of determining the temperature for different fitting algorithms have been estimated. We show that, for the temperature estimation to be more accurate, it is necessary to take into account maximal possible number of lines lying in the scanning ranges of the two lasers.  相似文献

The present study has been carried out with the aim of developing a technique for measuring two-dimensional gas temperature profiles based on two-color fluorescence induced by a one-color laser. The laser sheet of the fourth harmonic (266 nm) from a Nd:YAG laser induced fluorescence in species doped in a nitrogen gas flow. The LIF spectra of seven fluorescent species, namely acetone, methylethylketone, acetaldehyde ethylbenzene, anisole, aniline, and naphthalene, were measured to select the best prospective pair of fluorescent species for this technique. Ethylbenzene and naphthalene show relatively high LIF intensities and their LIF spectra overlap less with each other than with other species. Also, ethylbenzene has a high temperature dependence while naphthalene has a low temperature dependence. Thus by selecting one portion of wavelengths in the range where ethylbenzene or naphthalene is dominant, the temperature of the gas can be determined using the ratio of LIF intensities of the mixture at the two wavelengths with good temperature sensitivity. In addition, a general principle is presented for finding out an optimum pair of wavelengths to obtain a good temperature sensitivity in those LIF spectra.  相似文献

Krypton single crystals of the (111) surface orientation have been epitaxially grown on the (100) face of iridium. LEED intensity-energy spectra have been obtained for the specular and first order non-specular beams of the (111) krypton surface. The temperature dependence of the reflected intensities has also been monitored. Analysis in the kinematic scattering formalism has yielded the krypton effective surface Debye temperature as a function of electron energy. Comparison of the measured effective Debye temperature with the results of a kinematic calculation has indicated probable applicability of the Lennard-Jones (6–12) interatomic potential to surface atoms of krypton.  相似文献

The temperature variation of the Debye-Waller factors of Cs+ and Br ions in CsBr powder has been studied using powder X-ray diffraction. The integrated intensities of the Bragg peaks at different temperatures have been obtained. These results have been verified by structure factor least squares refinement program. Theoretical shell model lattice dynamical calculations have been done using a 7-parameter model in the harmonic approximation and the values compared with the present X-ray measurements. The observed intensities have been corrected for first order thermal diffuse scattering.  相似文献

The infrared spectrum of cyanoacetylene (also called propynenitrile) has been investigated from 400 to 4000 cm−1 at a resolution of 0.5 cm−1. Integrated intensities of the main bands and a number of weaker bands have been obtained with an uncertainty better than 5%. Inaccurate values in previous studies have been identified in particular concerning the intensity of the strong ν5 stretching band at 663.2 cm−1. Former results on the temperature dependence of integrated intensities have also been revisited.Synthetic spectra calculation has been performed for the ν5 and ν6 bands on the basis of the best available high resolution data. It has been shown that the GEISA line parameters for HC3N are not sufficient to reproduce the band intensities and some hot band features observed in our experimental spectra at room temperature. As a first step, the model spectra has been improved by including a number of missing hot subbands and by calculating accurately the hot band relative intensities. Finally, a perfect agreement between calculated and observed spectra was achieved on the basis of a global analysis of HC3N levels up to 2000 cm−1 combined with the new integrated intensity measurements. A new extensive line list for the ν5 and ν6 bending modes of HC3N has been compiled.  相似文献
