We have measured the temperature and angular dependence of the total scattered light intensity near the structural phase transition of SrTiO3 and interpreted it in terms of the theory of Ornstein and Zernike. It is concluded that in light scattering the direct coupling to the phonon density fluctuations or central mode in SrTiO3 prevails over the indirect coupling via the soft mode.  相似文献

The discrete gap breathers (DGBs) in a one-dimensional diatomic chain with K2-K3-K4 potential are analysed. Using the local anharmonicity approximation, the analytical investigation has been implemented. The dependence of the central amplitude of the discrete gap breathers on the breather frequency and the localization parameter are calculated. With increasing breather frequency, the DGB amplitudes decrease. As a function of the localization parameter, the central amplitude exhibits bistability, corresponding to the two branches of the curve ω = ω(ζ). With a nonzero cubic term, the HS mode of DGB profiles becomes weaker. With increasing K3, the HS mode of DGB profiles becomes weaker and a bit narrower. For the LS mode, with increasing K3, the central particle amplitude becomes larger, and the DGB profile becomes much sharper. But, as k3 increases further, the central particle amplitude of the LS mode becomes smaller.  相似文献

We design a single-ridged coaxial hybrid coupler which excites a TE011 mode of high mode content in a cylindrical cavity, resonating at 28.2GHz. The coupler consists of a WR-28 rectangular waveguide, a coaxial TEn11 cavity, and a cylindrical TE011 cavity. Both TE311 coaxial cavity and TE411 single-ridged coaxial cavity are analyzed to examine the TE011 mode purity in the central cavity. Mode purity analysis is performed by a field expansion method using Fourier-Bessel orthonormal basis functions. Numerical calculations predict that the TE411 single-ridged coaxial cavity excites the TE011 mode with mode purity of 98.6%, which is improved by 3% higher compared with the TE311 coaxial cavity. Measurements on the single-ridged coaxial coupler show a resonant frequency at 28.078GHz and ohmic and external Qs of 1560, 473 respectively, which are in good agreement with the simulated results of a 3-D finite element electromagnetic code.  相似文献

In this Letter, we study the spin-3 topologically massive gravity (TMG), paying special attention to its properties at the chiral point. We propose an action describing the higher spin fields coupled to TMG. We discuss the traceless spin-3 fluctuations around the AdS3 vacuum and find that there is an extra local massive mode, besides the left-moving and right-moving boundary massless modes. At the chiral point, such extra mode becomes massless and degenerates with the left-moving mode. We show that at the chiral point the only degrees of freedom in the theory are the boundary right-moving graviton and spin-3 field. We conjecture that spin-3 chiral gravity with generalized Brown-Henneaux boundary condition is holographically dual to 2D chiral CFT with classical W3 algebra and central charge cR=3l/G.  相似文献

A slot antenna is developed to excite the high harmonic waveguide mode for generating large-area plasmas. This antenna consists of a TE011 mode coaxial cavity with the axial slots positioned on equal interval on the inner wall. The waves radiated from those slots can excite the high harmonic mode in the central area. With the azimuthal symmetric wave field of the TE011 mode, the number of the slots can be chosen to match the field pattern of the high harmonic mode. In this report, the dispersion relation of the coaxial waveguide, the coupling scheme and the mode competition of the cavity are studied. A method has been successfully developed to suppress the TE121 mode which is the most competing mode to the TE011 mode.  相似文献

The phase transition sequence of a PbHf0.7Sn0.3O3 single crystal was investigated by using Brillouin spectroscopy. The longitudinal acoustic mode showed three distinct changes at ∼370 K, ∼455 K and ∼495 K which corresponded to the antiferroelectric 1 → antiferroelectric 2 → intermediate → paraelectric phase transitions upon heating. The paraelectric phase was characterized by softening acoustic mode, increasing acoustic damping and the appearance of quasielastic central peaks which were observed upon approaching the phase transition temperature. The relaxation times derived from the acoustic mode anomalies and the central peak were consistent with each other and showed a slowing-down behavior. These precursor phenomena were attributed to the polar clusters having broken inversion symmetry. The substitution of Hf with Sn induced a very soft intermediate phase between the paraelectric and the antiferroelectric phases, where the longitudinal acoustic mode exhibited the lowest mode frequency along with substantially high acoustic damping. The transverse acoustic mode, which was observed in the two antiferroelectric phases, did not appear in the intermediate phase. These results indicated that the average symmetry of the intermediate phase may be cubic consisting of fine ferroelastic domains.  相似文献

Raman spectra of the SrTiO3 crystal have been measured in wide temperature (22?C316 K) and frequency (2?C1020 cm?1) ranges. It has been shown that a central peak appears in low-frequency Raman spectra at temperatures above 70 K. In the spectral geometry with polarization rotation near the temperature T c = 106 K of the cubic-to-tetragonal phase transition, the central peak exhibits properties of the order-disorder phase transition. Such a behavior of the central peak has been explained by the interaction of the low-frequency soft mode E g with the relaxation mode near T c .  相似文献

We study the elasticity of random stiff fiber networks. The elastic response of the fibers is characterized by a central force stretching stiffness as well as a bending stiffness that acts transverse to the fiber contour. Previous studies have shown that this model displays an anomalous elastic regime where the stretching mode is fully frozen out and the elastic energy is completely dominated by the bending mode. We demonstrate by simulations and scaling arguments that, in contrast to the bending dominated elastic energy, the equally important elastic forces are to a large extent stretching dominated. By characterizing these forces on microscopic, mesoscopic and macroscopic scales we find two mechanisms of how forces are transmitted in the network. While forces smaller than a threshold Fc are effectively balanced by a homogeneous background medium, forces larger than Fc are found to be heterogeneously distributed throughout the sample, giving rise to highly localized force chains known from granular media.  相似文献

A prominent central peak in the sub‐THz frequency range was observed in the Raman spectra of BaTiO3/(Ba,Sr)TiO3 (BT/BST) superlattice grown on (001)MgO substrate. Both soft and central mode show an anomaly around 200 K and 280 K, which can be correlated with orthorhombic to monoclinic phase transition of BST and BT, respectively. The observed temperature dependence of the central mode enabled us to explain rather broad temperature dependence of the dielectric permittivity previously observed in BT/BST superlattices. Based on molecular-dynamics (MD) simulations, we have calculated the static and dynamic correlation functions in a BaTiO3 crystal. The static correlation functions have been used to study the peculiarities of diffuse scattering in barium titanate showing the experimentally observed anomalous planes. Based on time-dependent pair correlation functions, we have calculated the phonon spectra of BaTiO3 and studied the central peak of inelastic scattering. The phonon frequencies calculated by the MD method agree well with those obtained previously in the quasi-harmonic approximation. We show that the central peak of inelastic scattering is associated mainly with the soft optic mode and has the same symmetry. The large anisotropy in the displacements of atoms in the soft mode allows the presence of peculiarities in both X-ray scattering and EXAFS spectroscopy to be explained. The characteristic shape of the EXAFS spectra is shown to be explained by the quasi-one-dimensional motion of the oxygen ions in the cubic lattice of BaTiO3. Our calculation of triple correlation functions shows that the titanium atom in the described model oscillates around the cubic cell center. Explaining the experimental data that have caused disagreement about the nature of the phase transition in BaTiO3 using the developed model gives grounds to treat the phase transition in barium titanate as a displacive one.  相似文献

A model involving nonlinear coupling between the overdamped phonon mode and temperature fluctuations is studied using the dynamic renormalization group method. It is shown that the behavior of the central peak in the dynamic form factor depends on the specific heat exponent α. For α < 0 and as TTc the central peak is found to merge with the over-damped phonon mode and the coupling goes to zero at Tc as (T ? Tc). An argument on the intensity of the central peak in the critical region in presented and it is concluded that the hydrodynamic coupling may not be the dominant mechanism of the central peak in SrTiO3.  相似文献

The terahertz dielectric response of LuFe2O4 is investigated by terahertz time-domain spectroscopy over a temperature range of 6–290 K. It is revealed that besides the central mode associated with the charge-ordered state, a soft TO1 mode at below ∼240 K is identified indicating the existence of displacing ferroelectricity, in addition to the charge-ordering-induced ferroelectricity at below 320 K. The anomaly of the soft mode at ∼180 K reflects the magnetoelectric correlation between the soft TO1 mode and the spin/charge fluctuations revealed recently. Finally, the magnetic property at below ∼240 K is discussed.  相似文献

Raman scattering of layer-type compound 2H-WS2 has been studied at room temperature. The first-order Raman peaks are observed at 27.4, 357 and 423 cm-1. The low-frequency peak at 27.4 cm-1 is a rigid-layer mode, from which the interlayer shear force constant is estimated. The central force model is applied to the high-frequency phonons. The interlayer shear force constant is much smaller than the intralayer force constants. We also find several peaks due to the second-order processes.  相似文献

In the present paper, a novel photonic crystal (PC) defect mode is designed by inserting a ferroelectric material layer (LiNbO3) into Si/C60 one-dimensional PCs. The band structure of the ferroelectric PCs is numerically analyzed by the transfer matrix method (TMM). The width of the photonic band gap increases by 80 nm and a defect mode appears at a central wavelength of 680 nm when a 150 nm LiNbO3 layer is inserted into the Si/C60 PC structure. The defect mode in the band gap shifts linearly with the change in electric field. The defect mode shifts by 11.2 nm toward shorter wavelengths when the thin film is subjected to a DC voltage of 1 KV.  相似文献

We reinvestigate the mode coupling approach to the central peak which occurs in the vicinity of a structural phase transition at T c. For a scalar ? 4-model it is shown that the use of renormalized vertices leads to quite different results compared to recent calculations with bare vertices. Particularly, we prove that the latter are obtained in leading order of the anharmonicity constant of the on-site potential from a perturbational treatment of the renormalized vertices. Again, this mode coupling approach may yield a dynamical transition at a temperature T c'(≥ T c) at which the dynamics becomes nonergodic, i.e. a central peak occurs. For a ? 4- model with infinite range interactions our theoretical predictions are consistent with numerical results. Furthermore, if the fluctuations in the vicinity of Tc are Gaussian, no dynamical transition occurs above Tc. Therefore the temperature T 0'obtained from the Ginzburg criterion sets an upper bound for T c'. If a dynamical transition occurs, it is shown that the nonergodicity parameter as function of wave vector q and temperature T follows from an universal master function.  相似文献

6. Conclusions 1. It was shown that, compared with other methods, realization of the analytic Prony method increases strongly the effective establishment of the radiation of the mode structure of the radiation field in an empty cavity having o complex configuration, such as the HSURIA resonator. 2. We investigated the dependence of the losses of various azimuthal and radial modes in an empty HSURIA resonator on the value of Neq. We have shown that in the region Neq=20−25 and at M=2 the losses of the highest-Q zeroth and first azimuthal modes amount to ≈0.65 and ≈0.70 respectively, which ensures lasing in the single-mode regime in the case of a sufficiently homogeneous active medium. 3. We found the field distributions of various azimuthal and radial modes in the HSURIA resonator in the absence of a medium. 4. We have shown that in the case of lasing on one highest-Q mode the radiation intensity on the tip of a W-axicon is not more than 2–3 times larger than the average over the central region of the W-axicon. Based on the SFM model [M. San Miguel, Q. Feng, J.V. Moloney, Phys. Rev. A. 52 (1995) 1728.], complete chaotic synchronization characteristics of linear-polarization (LP) Mode of the vertical-cavity surface-emitting semiconductor lasers (VCSELs) with isotropic optical feedback are numerically investigated. When the propagation time τc of light from the transmitter to the receiver equals to the external cavity round-trip time τ, and the central frequency of the T_VCSEL matches that of the R_VCSEL, in large scale region of the feedback coefficient and the injection current where the x-polarization mode as well as the y-polarization mode obtains high synchronization quality at the same time. However, in the central frequency mismatch regions where the x- and y-polarization mode can obtain inferior synchronization quality at same time. But for τc ≠ τ, each LP mode of the mixed polarization modes achieved inferior synchronization quality at the same time. Besides, with big enough injection current, the output of the system with the same central frequency in two lasers is entirely governed by the y-polarization mode when the feedback coefficient and Δτ(=τc − τ) fixed at a certain value. So the system can realize steadily good synchronization of the completely dominant y-polarization mode. But the synchronization quality of the completely dominated y-polarization mode can be deteriorated by increasing absolute frequency detuning value. Besides, in positive frequency mismatch regions where the influence of the same frequency detuning value on the synchronization quality of the entirely governed y-polarization mode becomes smaller than in negative frequency detuning regions. At last, when τ is given and the central frequency of the T_VCSEL matches that of the R_VCSEL, the influence of the τc is not a simple time-shift in the time-evolution of the receiver VCSEL, which has serious influence on the complete synchronization quality of each LP mode.  相似文献

高功率、长脉冲是高功率微波技术发展的趋势,提高微波器件的功率容量成为一项重要的任务,使用过模器件可以有效提高微波源的功率容量,然而却会带来微波源中同时存在多种模式的问题。为了识别一个X波段长脉冲过模高功率微波源的输出主模TM01模式,设计了一种在线选模定向耦合器,进行了理论分析和模拟优化设计。当频率范围为9.2~9.6 GHz时,模拟结果显示该选模耦合器对TM01模的耦合度为-54 dB,在400 MHz带宽内定向性大于35 dB,对TM02模的抑制度大于15 dB,功率容量可达到3 GW以上。  相似文献

We present a compact efficient scheme for generation of high-order Laguerre–Gaussian TEM p,0 modes in a diode-pumped actively Q-switched Nd:YVO4 laser. The resonator is composed of two plane mirrors with an intracavity concave lens to expand the cavity mode size for generating a high-power Laguerre–Gaussian TEM5,0 mode. We further confirm that the TEM5,0 mode is noticeably superior to the TEM0,0 mode in the processes of second and third harmonic generations.  相似文献
