A Novel Fabrication Technique of Long Period Fiber Gratings Using a Holographic Optical Element 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
We develop a new flexible and precise ultraviolet exposure technique to fabricate a long period fiber grating using a computer-generated holographic optical element (HOE). The HOE can generate a striped beam pattern with about a 300 #x03BC;m period from a KrF excimer laser. This method offers (1) ease in varying the grating period and (2) grating period precision. We achieve a grating period within an accuracy of #x00B1;0.04 #x03BC;m. This means that the peak wavelength can be controlled within an accuracy of #x00B1;0.2nm with an operating wavelength of 1.55 #x03BC;m.This paper was originally presented at the 2nd International Conference on Optical Design and Fabrication, ODF2000 which was held on November 15-17, 2000 at the International Conference Center, Tokyo, Waseda University, Japan. 相似文献

A new method of fabricating all-fiber broadband-rejection filter based on long period fiber grating (LPFG) is proposed. The principle in the method is to make periodic asymmetrical deformation in the core of fiber without microbends by electrode discharging so as to induce periodic refractive index changes. Two kinds of filters whose rejection peak wavelength at 1550 nm and 1310 nm are obtained. The insertion loss is less than 0.6 dB and 1.4 dB respectively. The 20 dB bandwidth ranges from 10 nm to 39 nm. The backward reflection loss is extremely small (less than -70 dB). Such devices can be used as isolation filters in 1310/1550 nm WDM system and other fields. 相似文献

发现高频CO2激光脉冲写入的长周期光纤光栅谐振波长的横向负载特性具有较强的负载方向相关性,而损耗峰幅值的横向负载特性的方向相关性较弱.不同圆周方向的横向负载对谐振波长偏振相关性的影响差异较大,但对损耗峰幅值偏振相关性的影响差异较小.利用横向负载引起双折射进而导致光栅的光学主轴旋转的相关理论,合理解释了该长周期光纤光栅独特的横向负载特性及其偏振相关性. 相似文献

从模式耦合理论出发,用数值计算的方法分析了长周期光纤光栅的包层模中各不同阶次模式的有效折射率及其交/直流耦合系数随波长以及阶次的变化规律.研究发现包层膜有效折射率、直流耦合系数及奇数阶次的交流耦合系数都随着波长的增加而减小.而阶次高的模式对应的有效折射率以及奇数阶交流耦合系数随波长的变化速率较之低阶次的来说要大.进一步分析了直流耦合系数对谐振峰值位置的影响,并且揭示了相邻谐振波长的峰值位置之差随波长而逐渐增大的原因. 相似文献

长周期光纤光栅是在光纤纤芯中沿轴向形成折射率周期性调制的带阻型光纤器件。与光纤布拉格光栅不同,它表现为前向传播的纤芯基模与同向传播的各阶次包层模式在特定波长的耦合。研究了纤芯基模、包层模式(HE1t/EH1t)及其有效折射率随波长的变化,研究了纤芯基模与包层模式(HE1t/EH1t)的耦合系数。研究表明,纤芯基模与一阶低次包层模式的有效折射率随波长增大而减小,纤芯基模与HE1t产生的耦合系数远大于与EH1t的耦合系数,并且包层模式次数较低时,耦合系数随次数的升高而增加。这与以前的研究结果有所不同。 相似文献

We describe a tunable double-clad Yb-doped fiber laser based on a long period fiber grating mechanically induced in a section
of single mode holey fiber inserted into the laser cavity. The mechanically induced long period holey fiber grating acts as
a wavelength-selective fiber filter whose central wavelength, linewidth, and strength can be tuned by changing the period,
the length of the grating, and the applied pressure. The fiber laser gives a ∼12.6 nm tuning range, from ∼1079:4–1092nm, with
slope efficiencies of 18.7–26.3% at this wavelength range, with respect to the launched pump power. 相似文献

对现有在同~段光纤上多次写入光栅制成光栅梳状滤波器的方法进行了改进,利用增加光栅长度,精确控制不同光栅的曝光时间,并结合调整光栅实际写入长度的方法,制成了不均衡度小于5%、最低峰值反射率高于95%的光纤光栅梳状滤波器;同时提出了一种新颖的可选波长光纤激光器结构。采用由上述方法制作出的反射率均衡的光纤光栅梳状滤波器和可调光滤波器结合在一起进行波长选择,实现了波长的快速准确选择,同时各个波长激光的输出特性稳定,功率均衡性好,边模抑制比大于50dB。 相似文献

In a long period fiber grating(LPFG), the forward-propagating guided mode in the core is coupled to a number of co-propagating lossy cladding modes at resonance wavelengths. Sensitivity of resonance wavelength against temperature, axial strain, and external refractive index is modeled in this paper. Schemes for temperature compensation and enhanced wavelength tuning of LPFG are proposed and analyzed. Experiments show accordant results with simulations. Temperature coefficient of the LPFG compensated by means of axial strain is below 1.8 nm/100℃. For the LPFG with polymer recoating layer, the enhanced tuning range is more than 70 nm. 相似文献

Long period gratings have been written in highly multimoded optical fiber using 2.4 MeV H+ ions (protons). Implantation of ions with this energy produces a permanent index change of up to 1% in the center of the fiber. The presence of a grating with a period of 1.1 mm produces coupling from the fundamental mode into higher-order modes. Noticeable mode scrambling was observed to occur when only three grating periods were written into the fiber, and the amount of coupling between modes increases as the number of periods was increased to six. 相似文献
