Investigation of the mode splitting induced by electro-optic birefringence in a vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser by polarized electroluminescence 下载免费PDF全文
The mode splitting induced by electro-optic birefringence in a P-I-N InGaAs/GaAs/A1GaAs vertical-cavity surface- emitting laser (VCSEL) has been studied by polarized electroluminescence (EL) at room temperature. The polarized EL spectra with E||[110] and E || [150] directions, are extracted for different injected currents. The mode splitting of the two orthogonal polarized modes for a VCSEL device is determined, and its value increases linearly with the increasing injected current due to electro-optic birefringence; This article demonstrates that the polarized EL is a powerful tool to study the mode splitting and polarization anisotropy of a VCSEL device. 相似文献

研究由辐射压力与驱动Fabry-Perot光学腔相耦合而产生的腔光机械动力学行为. 通过量子朗之万方程具体研究了机械振子的涨落光谱、机械阻尼与共振频移和基态冷却. 随着输入激光功率的增加,振子的涨落光谱呈现简正模式分裂的现象,并且数值模拟结果和实验结果相符合. 同时推导了有效机械阻尼和共振频移. 红移边带导致了机械模的冷却,蓝移边带引起了机械模的放大. 此外,引入一种近似机制来研究振子的基态冷却,并且考虑在解析边带机制下简正模式分裂对机械振子冷却的影响. 最后,数值讨论了初始浴温度、输入激光功率和机械品质因数这三个因素对机械振子冷却的影响.

The thermoelectric and the thermospin transport properties,including electrical conductivity,Seebeck coefficient,thermal conductivity,and thermoelectric figure of merit,of a parallel coupled double-quantum-dot Aharonov-Bohm interferometer are investigated by means of the Green function technique.The periodic Anderson model is used to describe the quantum dot system,the Rashba spin-orbit interaction and the Zeeman splitting under a magnetic field are considered.The theoretical results show the constructive contribution of the Rashba effect and the influence of the magnetic field on the thermospin effects.We also show theoretically that material with a high figure of merit can be obtained by tuning the Zeeman splitting energy only. 相似文献

The structure of an all-fiber Erbium-doped fiber ring cavity with bidirectional single-mode oscillations and a rotation-sensitive beat signal for gyro applications is reported in this letter. The structure is achieved by introducing a polarization splitting method to filter the bidirectional oscillations and to control the mode coupling of the counter-propagating waves. Two distinct behaviors of the beat signal are identified, namely, the linear mode coupling situation caused by the back-reflection of the optical elements and the nonlinear mode coupling situation attributed to spatially non-uniform saturation in gain medium. Experiments are conducted to show the cavity rotation rate dependence of the beat frequency shift. The results are in good agreement with the theoretical predictions. 相似文献

The property of matter-wave vector solitons in a spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensate with spin-orbit and Zeeman couplings is investigated by multiscale perturbation method. The excitation spectrum and the corresponding state vectors of the system are obtained analytically, and they can be adjusted by the parameters of the system. The bright and dark vector solitons are formulated by reducing the three-component coupled Gross-Pitaeviskii equations to a standard nonlinear Schrödinger equation, which has the solutions of the bright and dark solitons with positive or negative mass depending on the product of the effective dispersive and nonlinear coefficients. The moving vector solitons are demonstrated by adjusting specific momentum near the energy minimum. Finally, the magnetized features of the vector solitons are discussed by the spin polarization of the system. 相似文献

Spin dependent transport in one-dimensional four-terminal rings (FTRs) is investigated in the presence of the Rashba spin-orbit coupling (RSOC). In the absence of the RSOC, the conductances as a function of the electron wave vector show resonant behavior for symmetrical configurations. For asymmetrical configurations, the conductances show peculiar zero-conductance resonances, and two kinds of conductance zeros have been found. In the presence of the RSOC, the original conductance zeros disappear as new conductance zeros are generated. Moreover, two kinds of symmetry relations have been found in the conductances, the spin dependent conductances and the spin polarizations. For the FTRs with axial or central symmetry, the phase-locking effect has been found in terminal 2, where there is no spin polarization. Under a weak magnetic field, the Zeeman term is treated by a perturbation, and it is found that the Zeeman effect is obvious for weak RSOC. 相似文献

The dispersion properties of the linear birefringence inside the glass current sensing head of a bulk glass optical current sensor and its effect upon the sensitivity of the sensor are theoretically analyzed and simulated with a computer. The investigation results show that the effect is small enough to be ignored, although it can certainly affect the scale factor of the system slightly. These results might be useful for the researchers and designers working in the optical current sensing techniques area. 相似文献

By projecting the characteristic equation into the subspace of the conduction band, the Rashba spin splitting coefficient for the first two subbands (α1, α2) and the intersubband spin-orbit coupling coefficient (η12) in AlGaN/GaN quantum well structure are obtained. Then sizable α1, α2 and η12 in QWs are calculated by solving the Schrödinger and Poisson equations self-consistently. We find that the internal electric field is crucial for considerable spin-orbit coupling effect in III-nitride QWs and the spin-orbit coupling coefficient can be greatly modulated by the well thickness. Compared with the Rashba coefficient, the intersubband spin-orbit coupling coefficient is basically of the same order of magnitude. The results show the great possibility of spin manipulation in low-dimensional semiconductors, and III-nitride QWs are candidates for the design of spintronic devices. 相似文献
