The second-order cone complementarity problem (denoted by SOCCP) can be effectively solved by smoothing-type algorithms, which in general are designed based on some monotone line search. In this paper, based on a new smoothing function of the Fischer–Burmeister function, we propose a smoothing-type algorithm for solving the SOCCP. The proposed algorithm uses a new nonmonotone line search scheme, which contains the usual monotone line search as a special case. Under suitable assumptions, we show that the proposed algorithm is globally and locally quadratically convergent. Some numerical results are reported which indicate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.  相似文献

The circular cone programming (CCP) problem is to minimize or maximize a linear function over the intersection of an affine space with the Cartesian product of circular cones. In this paper, we study nondegeneracy and strict complementarity for the CCP, and present a nonmonotone smoothing Newton method for solving the CCP. We reformulate the CCP as a second-order cone programming (SOCP) problem using the algebraic relation between the circular cone and the second-order cone. Then based on a one parametric class of smoothing functions for the SOCP, a smoothing Newton method is developed for the CCP by adopting a new nonmonotone line search scheme. Without restrictions regarding its starting point, our algorithm solves one linear system of equations approximately and performs one line search at each iteration. Under mild assumptions, our algorithm is shown to possess global and local quadratic convergence properties. Some preliminary numerical results illustrate that our nonmonotone smoothing Newton method is promising for solving the CCP.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a nonmonotone smoothing Newton algorithm for solving the circular cone programming(CCP) problem in which a linear function is minimized or maximized over the intersection of an affine space with the circular cone. Based on the relationship between the circular cone and the second-order cone(SOC), we reformulate the CCP problem as the second-order cone problem(SOCP). By extending the nonmonotone line search for unconstrained optimization to the CCP, a nonmonotone smoothing Newton method is proposed for solving the CCP. Under suitable assumptions, the proposed algorithm is shown to be globally and locally quadratically convergent. Some preliminary numerical results indicate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm for solving the CCP.  相似文献

Based on a new symmetrically perturbed smoothing function, the generalized nonlinear complementarity problem defined on a polyhedral cone is reformulated as a system of smoothing equations. Then we suggest a new nonmonotone derivative-free line search and combine it into the smoothing Broyden-like method. The proposed algorithm contains the usual monotone line search as a special case and can overcome the difficult of smoothing Newton methods in solving the smooth equations to some extent. Under mild conditions, we prove that the proposed algorithm has global and local superlinear convergence. Furthermore, the algorithm is locally quadratically convergent under suitable assumptions. Preliminary numerical results are also reported.  相似文献

The smoothing-type algorithm has been successfully applied to solve various optimization problems. In general, the smoothing-type algorithm is designed based on some monotone line search. However, in order to achieve better numerical results, the non-monotone line search technique has been used in the numerical computations of some smoothing-type algorithms. In this paper, we propose a smoothing-type algorithm for solving the nonlinear complementarity problem with a non-monotone line search. We show that the proposed algorithm is globally and locally superlinearly convergent under suitable assumptions. The preliminary numerical results are also reported.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a smoothing algorithm for solving the monotone symmetric cone complementarity problems (SCCP for short) with a nonmonotone line search. We show that the nonmonotone algorithm is globally convergent under an assumption that the solution set of the problem concerned is nonempty. Such an assumption is weaker than those given in most existing algorithms for solving optimization problems over symmetric cones. We also prove that the solution obtained by the algorithm is a maximally complementary solution to the monotone SCCP under some assumptions. The smoothing algorithms have been successfully applied to solve the symmetric cone complementarity problem (denoted by SCCP), which in general have the global and local superlinear/quadratic convergence if the solution set of the SCCP is nonempty and bounded. Huang, Hu and Han [Science in China Series A: Mathematics, 52: 833–848, 2009] presented a nonmonotone smoothing algorithm for solving the SCCP, whose global convergence is established by just requiring that the solution set of the SCCP is nonempty. In this paper, we propose a new nonmonotone smoothing algorithm for solving the SCCP by modifying the version of Huang-Hu-Han’s algorithm. We prove that the modified nonmonotone smoothing algorithm not only is globally convergent but also has local superlinear/quadratical convergence if the solution set of the SCCP is nonempty. This convergence result is stronger than those obtained by most smoothing-type algorithms. Finally, some numerical results are reported.  相似文献

Based on a regularized Chen–Harker–Kanzow–Smale (CHKS) smoothing function, we propose a new smoothing and regularization Newton method for solving the symmetric cone complementarity problem. By using the theory of Euclidean Jordan algebras, we establish the global and local quadratic convergence of the method on certain assumptions. The proposed method uses a nonmonotone line search technique which includes the usual monotone line search as a special case. In addition, our method treats both the smoothing parameter \(\mu \) and the regularization parameter \(\varepsilon \) as independent variables. Preliminary numerical results are reported which indicate that the proposed method is effective.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a smoothing Newton method for solving the second-order cone programming (SOCP) based on the Chen–Harker–Kanzow–Smale (CHKS) smoothing function. Our smoothing method reformulates SOCP as a nonlinear system of equations and then applies Newton’s method to the system. The proposed method solves only one linear system of equations and performs only one line search at each iteration. It is shown that the method is globally and locally sub-quadratically convergent under a nonsingularity assumption. Numerical results suggest that the method is promising.  相似文献

In this paper, a new hybrid method is proposed for solving nonlinear complementarity problems (NCP) with P 0 function. In the new method, we combine a smoothing nonmonotone trust region method based on a conic model and line search techniques. We reformulate the NCP as a system of semismooth equations using the Fischer-Burmeister function. Using Kanzow’s smooth approximation function to construct the smooth operator, we propose a smoothing nonmonotone trust region algorithm of a conic model for solving the NCP with P 0 functions. This is different from the classical trust region methods, in that when a trial step is not accepted, the method does not resolve the trust region subproblem but generates an iterative point whose steplength is defined by a line search. We prove that every accumulation point of the sequence generated by the algorithm is a solution of the NCP. Under a nonsingularity condition, the superlinear convergence of the algorithm is established without a strict complementarity condition.  相似文献

A new smoothing function similar with the well known Fischer-Burmeister function is given. Based on this new function, a smoothing-type Newton method is proposed for solving second-order cone programming. At each iteration, the proposed algorithm solves only one system of linear equations and performs only one line search. This algorithm can start from an arbitrary point and it is Q-quadratically convergent under a mild assumption. Preliminary numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of the method.  相似文献

We extend the smoothing function proposed by Huang, Han and Chen [Journal of Optimization Theory and Applications, 117 (2003), pp. 39–68] for the non-linear complementarity problems to the second-order cone programming (SOCP). Based on this smoothing function, a non-interior continuation method is presented for solving the SOCP. The proposed algorithm solves only one linear system of equations and performs only one line search at each iteration. It is shown that our algorithm is globally and locally superlinearly convergent in absence of strict complementarity at the optimal solution. Numerical results indicate the effectiveness of the algorithm.  相似文献

PSB (Powell-Symmetric-Broyden) algorithm is a very important algorithm and has been extensively used in trust region methods. However, there are few studies on the line search type PSB algorithm. The primary reason is that the direction generated by this class of algorithms is not necessarily a descent direction of the objective function. In this paper, by combining a nonmonotone line search technique with the PSB method, we propose a nonmonotone PSB algorithm for solving unconstrained optimization. Under proper conditions, we establish global convergence and superlinear convergence of the proposed algorithm. At the same time we verify the efficiency of the proposed algorithm by some numerical experiments.  相似文献

In this paper, we focus on solving a class of nonlinear complementarity problems with non-Lipschitzian functions. We first introduce a generalized class of smoothing functions for the plus function. By combining it with Robinson's normal equation, we reformulate the complementarity problem as a family of parameterized smoothing equations. Then, a smoothing Newton method combined with a new nonmonotone line search scheme is employed to compute a solution of the smoothing equations. The global and local superlinear convergence of the proposed method is proved under mild assumptions. Preliminary numerical results obtained applying the proposed approach to nonlinear complementarity problems arising in free boundary problems are reported. They show that the smoothing function and the nonmonotone line search scheme proposed in this paper are effective.  相似文献

Two trust regions algorithms for unconstrained nonlinear optimization problems are presented: a monotone and a nonmonotone one. Both of them solve the trust region subproblem by the spectral projected gradient (SPG) method proposed by Birgin, Martínez and Raydan (in SIAM J. Optim. 10(4):1196?C1211, 2000). SPG is a nonmonotone projected gradient algorithm for solving large-scale convex-constrained optimization problems. It combines the classical projected gradient method with the spectral gradient choice of steplength and a nonmonotone line search strategy. The simplicity (only requires matrix-vector products, and one projection per iteration) and rapid convergence of this scheme fits nicely with globalization techniques based on the trust region philosophy, for large-scale problems. In the nonmonotone algorithm the trial step is evaluated by acceptance via a rule which can be considered a generalization of the well known fraction of Cauchy decrease condition and a generalization of the nonmonotone line search proposed by Grippo, Lampariello and Lucidi (in SIAM J. Numer. Anal. 23:707?C716, 1986). Convergence properties and extensive numerical results are presented. Our results establish the robustness and efficiency of the new algorithms.  相似文献

In this paper we state some nonmonotone line search strategies for unconstrained optimization algorithms. Abstracting from the concrete line search strategy we prove two general convergence results. Using this theory we can show the global convergence of the BFGS method with nonmonotone line search strategy. In contrast to some former results about nonmonotone line search strategies, both our convergence results and their proofs are natural generalizations of known results for the monotone case.  相似文献
