3-[(4-Chlorophenylamido)]propenoic acid has been synthesized by reaction of maleic anhydride and 4-chloroaniline in 1:1 molar
ratio in glacial acetic acid and its metal complexes have been synthesized by the reaction of 3-[(4-chlorophenylamido)]propenoic
acid with HgCl2 and [Zn(CH3COO)2] · 2H2O in 2: 1 molar ratio, respectively. All the synthesized compounds have been characterized by the elemental analysis, IR,
UV/Vis and NMR (1H, 13C) spectroscopy. Conductance for the reported compounds has been recorded in ethanol and suggests the non-electro lytic nature
of complexes. IR data of metal complexes shows that the ligand is bound to the metal via both carboxylate oxygen atoms and
complexes exhibits 4-coordinated geometry in solid state. NMR (1H, 13C) study confirms the structure of the 3-[(4-chlorophenylamido)]propenoic acid and the reported complexes. 相似文献

Three europium complexes with the terdentate N-donor ligand 2,6-bis(1H-pyrazol-3-yl)pyridine (L) have been synthesized, and their crystal structures have been determined. The ligand/metal ratios in these complexes are 3, 2, and 1. The photophysical properties of the complexes indicate more efficient ligand sensitization of europium emission for the homoleptic complex. 相似文献

A novel Schiff base has been designed and synthesized using the bioactive ligand obtained from 4-aminoantipyrine, 3,4-dimethoxybenzaldehyde and 2-aminobenzoic acid. Its Cu(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II) complexes have also been synthesized in ethanol medium. The structural features have arrived from their elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility, molar conductance, mass, IR, UV–Vis, 1H NMR and ESR spectral studies. The data show that the complexes have composition of ML2 type. The electronic absorption spectral data of the complexes suggest an octahedral geometry around the central metal ion. The interaction of the complexes with calf thymus (CT) DNA has been studied using absorption spectra, cyclic voltammetric, and viscosity measurement. The metal complexes have been found to promote cleavage of pUC19 DNA from the super coiled form I to the open circular form II. The complexes show enhanced antifungal and antibacterial activities compared with the free ligand. 相似文献

A series of 20-memebered macro-cyclic metal(II) complexes have been synthesized by a macro-cyclic ligand, i.e. 1,5,11,15-tetraaza-6,10,16,20-tetraoxo-8,18-dithia-cyclocosane, it was prepared by the condensation reaction of 1,3-diaminopropane with thiodiglycolic acid. The bonding and stereochemistry of the complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic moment, molar conductance, mass, 1H NMR, IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies. The mononuclear complexes of the type [ML]X2 have been found to have distorted octahedral geometry and the binuclear complexes [M2LX2]X2 were found to possess square planar configuration around the central metal ion. 相似文献

A new ligand p-[N-2-(2'-pyridyl)benzimidazolyl]-[N-2-(2'-pyridyl)indolyl]-benzene (L1) has been synthesized and fully characterized. L1 has two distinct chelating sites: one N,N-chelate site and one N,C-chelate site. This ligand has been found to be very effective in selective binding to two different metal ions. Two new heterobimetallic complexes Ru-Pt and Ru-Pd using L1 as the bridging ligand have been successfully synthesized and fully characterized. To understand the mutual influence of the two metal centers on electronic and photophysical properties, the corresponding monometallic Ru(II), Pt(II) and Pd(II) compounds have also been synthesized and investigated. All Ru(II)-containing complexes have been found to be luminescent. Electronic communication between the two different metal centers in the heterobimetallic compounds was found to be weak. The Pt(II) moiety appears to enhance the phosphorescent efficiency of the Ru(II) unit while the Pd(II) analogue has little influence. 相似文献

Atenolol dithiocarbamate (ADTC) and its complexes with Cu(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II) have been synthesized. These
newly synthesized products have been characterized by elemental analyses (C, H, N, and S), thermal (thermogravimetry (TG)
and differential thermal analyses (DTA)) as well as by spectral (UV, IR, and NMR (1H)) studies. The stability constants (β) of metal complexes of ADTC have been determined by UV-Vis data in solutions in DMSO.
The antimicrobial activities of the metal complexes have been screened in vitro against ten bacteria.

The 2-alkoxyimidate-1,10-phenanthroline complexes of manganese, cobalt and nickel have been synthesized by the reaction of 2-cyano-1,10-phenanthroline with metal dichloride in the corresponding alcohol. The metal complexes bearing two 2-cyano-1,10-phenanthrolines were isolated in non-protonic solvent as the coordination around metal core with two ligands and two chlorides. The alkoxyimidation of nitrile linked on ligand was speeded in forming the 2-alkoxyimidate-1,10-phenanthrolinyl metal complexes. All the complexes have been characterized by FT-IR spectra and elemental analysis, and some of their structures have also been confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. All the metal complexes were evaluated in the catalytic oligomerization of ethylene with some alkylaluminums as co-catalyst; in which manganese complexes were less active, cobalt complexes showed low to moderate activities, and nickel complexes gave moderate to good activities. 相似文献

Complexes of transition metals have been synthesized with hexadentate ligand (2,6-bis(((2-mercaptophenyl)thio)methyl)pyridinato)metal(II). These complexes have been synthesized via the two step template reaction by using the benzene dithiol, 2,6-bis(chloro)methyl pyridine and corresponding metal salt as key raw materials. The structures of the complexes have been elucidated on the basis of elemental analysis, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies. All of the complexes were found to possess six-coordinated geometry and are of high spin type. 相似文献

The synthesis, characterization and diuretic activity of four new biologically active complexes of Mg(II) and VO(II) with bidentate Schiff base ligand acetazolamide–salicylaldimine (L) obtained from the inserted condensation of 5-acetamido-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-sulphonamide (acetazolamide) with salicylaldehyde in a 1:1 molar ratio have been reported. Using this bidentate ligand complexes of Mg(II), Mn(II), Fe(II) and VO(II) with general formula ML2 have been synthesized. The synthesized complexes were characterized by several techniques using elemental analysis, FT-IR, electronic spectra, TGA, mass, particle size analysis and molar conductance measurements. The elemental analysis data suggest the stoichiometry to be 1:2 [M:L]. The molar conductance measurements suggest non-electrolytic nature of the complexes. Infrared spectral data agreed with the coordination to the central metal ion through deprotonated phenolic oxygen and azomethine nitrogen atoms. On the basis of spectral studies, octahedral geometry is suggested for Mg(II), Mn(II), Fe(II) and square pyramidal geometry is suggested for VO(II) complexes. The pure drug, synthesized ligand and metal(II) complexes were screened for their antimicrobial activities against Eschericia coli, Bacillus subtilis, Aspergillus niger and Aspergillus flavous. The results show that the metal complexes were more active than the ligand and pure drug against these microbial species as expected. The ligand and its Mg(II) complexes was screened for their diuretic activity also. 相似文献

The present work stems from our interest in the synthesis, characterization and biological evaluation of lanthanide(III) complexes of a class of coumarin based imines which have been prepared by the interaction of hydrated lanthanide(III) chloride with the sodium salts of 3-acetylcoumarin thiosemicarbazone (ACTSZH) and 3-acetylcoumarin semicarbazone (ACSZH) in 1:3 molar ratio using thermal as well as microwave method. Characterization of the ligands as well as the metal complexes have been carried out by elemental analysis, melting point determinations, molecular weight determinations, magnetic moment, molar conductance, IR, (1)H NMR, (13)C NMR, electronic, EPR, X-ray powder diffraction and mass spectral studies. Spectral studies confirm ligands to be monofunctional bidentate and octahedral environment around metal ions. The redox behavior of one of the synthesized metal complex was investigated by cyclic voltammetry. Further, free ligands and their metal complexes have been screened for their antimicrobial as well as DNA cleavage activity. The results of these findings have been presented and discussed. 相似文献

New N2O2 donor type Schiff bases have been designed and synthesized by condensing acetylaceto-4-aminoantipyrine/acetoacetanilido-4-aminoantipyrine
with 2-amino benzoic acid in ethanol. Solid metal complexes of the Schiff bases with Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Mn(II), Zn(II),
VO(IV), Hg(II) and Cd(II) metal ions were synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility, molar
conduction, FAB Mass, IR, UV-Vis., 1H NMR, and ESR spectral studies. The data show that the complexes have a composition of the ML type. The UV-Vis., magnetic
susceptibility, and ESR spectral data of the complexes suggest a square planar geometry around the central metal ion, except
for VO(IV) complexes, which have square-pyramidal geometry. The redox behavior of copper and vanadyl complexes has been studied
by cyclic voltammetry. The nuclease activity of the above metal complexes shows that the complexes cleave DNA through redox
chemistry. In the presence of H2O2, all the complexes are capable of cleaving calf thymus DNA plasmids, in order to compare the cleavage efficiency of all metal
complexes in the two different ligand environments. In this assay, Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), and Zn(II) exhibit more cleavage
efficiency than other metal ions.

A series of metal complexes of Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Fe(III) and Mn(II) have been synthesized with newly synthesized biologically active tridentate ligand. The ligand was synthesized by condensation of dehydroacetic acid (3-acetyl-6-methyl-(2H) pyran-2,4(3H)-dione or DHA), o-phenylene diamine and fluoro benzaldehyde and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductivity, magnetic susceptibility, thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction, IR, 1H-NMR, UV–Vis spectroscopy and mass spectra. From the analytical data, the stoichiometry of the complexes was found to be 1:2 (metal:ligand) with octahedral geometry. The molar conductance values suggest the non-electrolyte nature of metal complexes. The IR spectral data suggest that the ligand behaves as a dibasic tridentate ligand with ONN donor atoms sequence towards central metal ion. Thermal behaviour (TG/DTA) and kinetic parameters calculated by the Coats–Redfern and Horowitz–Metzger method suggest more ordered activated state in complex formation. To investigate the relationship between stability constants of metal complexes and antimicrobial activity, the dissociation constants of Schiff bases and stability constants of their binary metal complexes have been determined potentiometrically in THF–water (60:40%) solution at 25 ± 1 °C and at 0.1 M NaClO4 ionic strength. The potentiometric study suggests 1:1 and 1:2 complexation. Antibacterial and antifungal activities in vitro were performed against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Aspergillus niger, Trichoderma, respectively. The stability constants of the metal complexes were calculated by the Irving–Rosotti method. A relation between the stability constant and antimicrobial activity of complexes has been discussed. It is observed that the activity enhances upon complexation and the order of antifungal activity is in accordance with stability order of metal ions. 相似文献
