The self-balancing of a statically unbalanced orthotropic elastic rotor equipped with a ball auto-balancing device is investigated. Equations of motion in fixed and rotating systems of coordinates, as well as equations describing steady motions of the regular precession type, are derived using a simple model of a Jeffcott rotor. Formulae for calculating the amplitude-frequency and phase-frequency characteristics of the precessional motion of the rotor are obtained. It is established that the conditions for a steady balanced mode of motion for an orthotropic rotor to exist have the same form as for an isotropic rotor, but the stability region of such a mode for an orthotropic rotor is narrower than the stability region for an isotropic rotor. The unsteady modes of motion of the rotor in the case of rotation with constant angular velocity and in the case of passage through critical velocities with constant angular acceleration is investigated numerically. It is established that the mode of slow passage through the critical region for an orthotropic rotor is far more dangerous than the similar mode for an isotropic rotor.  相似文献

The Darboux transformation is explicitly constructed for a coupled system of an arbitrary number of focusing or defocusing nonlinear Schrödinger fields with cubic nonlinearity (i.e., a Manakov system with an arbitrary number of fields). This article is concerned with gradient flows in asymmetric metric spaces, that is, spaces with a topology induced by an asymmetric metric. Such an asymmetry appears naturally in many applications, e.g., in mathematical models for materials with hysteresis. A framework of asymmetric gradient flows is established under the assumption that the metric is weakly lower-semicontinuous in the second argument (and not necessarily on the first), and an existence theorem for gradient flows defined on an asymmetric metric space is given.  相似文献

Abstract A model of sustainable economic growth in an economy with two types of exhaustible resources is analyzed. The resources are assumed to be perfect substitutes with marginal rate of substitution varying over time. The optimal control framework is used to characterize the optimal paths under the maximin criterion. It is shown that the resource with increasing productivity is not used before the constant productivity resource is depleted. Afterwards the resource with an increasing productivity is asymptotically depleted as well. The results are based on an assumption that transversality conditions hold. A new sufficient condition for the transversality conditions is derived. Finally, an analogue of Hartwick’s rule for this non‐autonomous case is established.  相似文献

We develop a theory of ordered *-algebras with an order unit. These are complex algebras equipped with a conjugate-linear vector space involution whose hermitian elements form an ordered real algebra with an order unit but not necessarily with a multiplicative identity. Our main result is a representation theorem for ordered *-algebras with an order unit. This can be viewed as the complex and the non-unital version of the representation theorem of Stone and Kadison for ordered real algebras containing an order unit which is a multiplicative identity. A key role in our approach is played by certain weighted function algebras.  相似文献

This paper is mainly concerned with existence of mild solutions for first-order impulsive neutral integro-differential inclusions with nonlocal initial conditions in α-norm. We assume that the undelayed part generates an analytic resolvent operator and transforms it into an integral equation. By using a fixed point theorem for condensing multivalued maps, a main existence theorem is established. As an application of this main theorem, a practical consequence is derived for the sublinear growth case. Finally, we present an application to a neutral partial integro-differential equation with Dirichlet and nonlocal initial conditions.  相似文献

For a conformal manifold we introduce the notion of an ambient connection, an affine connection on an ambient manifold of the conformal manifold, possibly with torsion, and with conditions relating it to the conformal structure. The purpose of this construction is to realise the normal conformal Tractor holonomy as affine holonomy of such a connection. We give an example of an ambient connection for which this is the case, and which is torsion free if we start the construction with a C-space, and in addition Ricci-flat if we start with an Einstein manifold. Thus, for a C-space this example leads to an ambient metric in the weaker sense of Čap and Gover, and for an Einstein space to a Ricci-flat ambient metric in the sense of Fefferman and Graham. Given a semi-Markov process with an arbitrary set of states, a criterion is obtained for the attainability of a certain isolated subset of states and for finiteness of the average attainment time. An equation is given for the average of an additive functional of a process with absorption, existence and uniqueness conditions are deduced for the solution of that equation in a given class of functions, and an integral representation is obtained for the solution.  相似文献

The paper is concerned with the problem of stabilizing a spherical robot of combined type during its motion. The focus is on the application of feedback for stabilization of the robot which is an example of an underactuated system. The robot is set in motion by an internal wheeled platform with a rotor placed inside the sphere. The results of experimental investigations for a prototype of the spherical robot are presented.  相似文献

In this work, an analytic development for a transmission line with a corona effect for simulating an electromagnetic transient is presented. The asymptotic solution for the Radulet equations in which a nonlinear term is presented is obtained. The study is carried out for a single-phase transmission line. The electrical parameters for an overhead line are defined and several formulations for their calculation are presented. The frequency dependence of the electrical parameters is considered. In the first part, the linear problem solution is found; the Fourier and Laplace transforms are applied with respect to distance and time respectively. After finding the solution in the Fourier–Laplace domain, which is expressed in terms of a Green’s function integral, an approximate analytical solution is obtained in the distance–time domain by means of asymptotic methods. Finally, the nonlinear solution is found using as a first approach the linear solution. The results obtained show an attenuation in the voltage wave due to the corona effect.  相似文献

Semimartingale reflecting Brownian motions in an orthant (SRBMs) are of interest in applied probability because of their role as heavy traffic approximations for open queueing networks. It is shown in this paper that a process which satisfies the definition of an SRBM, except that small random perturbations in the defining conditions are allowed, is close in distribution to an SRBM. This perturbation result is called an invariance principle by analogy with the invariance principle of Stroock and Varadhan for diffusions with boundary conditions. A crucial ingredient in the proof of this result is an oscillation inequality for solutions of a perturbed Skorokhod problem. In a subsequent paper, the invariance principle is used to give general conditions under which a heavy traffic limit theorem holds for open multiclass queueing networks. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Abstract

This article is concerned with the problem of guaranteed cost control for a class of uncertain stochastic impulsive systems with Markovian switching. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first time that such a problem is investigated for stochastic impulsive systems with Markovian switching. For an uncontrolled system, the conditions in terms of certain linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) are obtained for robust stochastical stability and an upper bound is given for the cost function. For the controlled systems, a set of LMIs is developed to design a linear state feedback controller which can stochastically stabilize the class of systems under study and guarantee the given cost function to have an upper bound. Further, an optimization problem with LMI constraints is formulated to minimize the guaranteed cost of the closed-loop system. Finally, a numerical example is provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.  相似文献

It is well known that for reaction-diffusion 2-species Lotka-Volterra competition models with spatially independent reaction terms, global stability of an equilibrium for the reaction system implies global stability for the reaction-diffusion system. This is not in general true for spatially inhomogeneous models. We show here that for an important range of such models, for small enough diffusion coefficients, global convergence to an equilibrium holds for the reaction-diffusion system, if for each point in space the reaction system has a globally attracting hyperbolic equilibrium. This work is planned as an initial step towards understanding the connection between the asymptotics of reaction-diffusion systems with small diffusion coefficients and that of the corresponding reaction systems.  相似文献

Issues related to the computation of wave fields in an acoustic medium near caustics are considered. A boundary condition on a caustic is established, and the Green’s function of a boundary value problem for the general case of a varying speed of sound is constructed. For this purpose, an auxiliary Goursat problem is considered and a system of its particular solutions is constructed using hyper-geometric functions. A Volterra integral equation for the Green’s function is obtained, and an algorithm for its expansion with respect to smoothness is described. A finite difference scheme approximating the solution of the differential problem with an unbounded coefficient is proposed. Numerical results are presented.  相似文献

A simple algorithm for developing a quasioptimal control over resource consumption is considered. The control is used as an initial approach to an iterative procedure of computing an optimal control. A system of linear algebraic equations is derived which approximately relate increments of initial conditions of an adjoint system to increments of amplitudes of a quasioptimal control with respect to ultimate values. Local convergence of the computing process with a quadratic rate is proved, and the convergence radius is found. A condition for global convergence of the method is specified.  相似文献

A singularly perturbed boundary-value problem for an equation of mixed ellipticparabolic type is considered. The first part of this work is devoted to an asymptotic study of the solution to the problem. Modification of the boundary function method for mixed-type equations with small parameters at the highest derivatives is used. The second part is devoted to creating a numerical method that considers the structure of the solution for small parameter values. The idea of an approximate factorization of an elliptic operator into the product of two parabolic operators is employed. An effective numerical algorithm based on an asymptotic representation of the solution is developed.  相似文献

The title problem is examined for plane deformations of an idealfibre-reinforced rectangular plate with a hole. The solutionis found to depend on simultaneous ordinary differential equationswhich may be integrated without difficulty. This is in markedcontrast with the corresponding problems for an anisotropicelastic body and enables approximate solutions for stronglyanisotropic bodies to be derived without difficulty. The particularcases of a line crack in the plate at an angle to the fibresand an arbitrary symmetrical hole are examined in detail.  相似文献
