The elastic and inelastic scattering of protons from 6Li has been studied at incident energies of 25.9, 29.9, 35.0, 40.1 and 45.4 MeV. The 2.18 MeV (3+, T = 0) first excited state of 6Li was found to be strongly excited, but the 3.56 MeV (0+, T = 1) second excited state was quite weakly excited. Angular distributions for excitation of the 2.18 MeV level were measured at all five energies, while angular distributions for excitation of the 3.56 MeV level were extracted only at 25.9 and 45.4 MeV. To test the applicability of the optical model for the scattering of protons from such a light nucleus the elastic scattering angular distributions have been analyzed using the eleven-parameter search code SEEK. Available polarization angular distributions were included in the analysis. Reasonable fits to the data have been obtained with an average geometry potential. Theoretical estimates of the real part of the optical potential and the inelastic scattering differential cross sections have been made using the microscopic model for proton-nucleus scattering. Both phenomenological and realistic forces have been considered and the necessary nuclear transition densities have been extracted from experimental elastic and inelastic electron scattering data. An estimate of a possible spin-spin term in the optical potential has also been made.  相似文献

The differential cross section of the charge-exchange reaction p(6He, n)6Li(0+, 3.56 MeV) is calculated within the context of direct mechanisms: the stripping of a heavy 5He cluster, replacing a virtual neutron with a proton in the 5He cluster field, and the mechanism of consecutive transfer of a neutron and an α particle. The spatial structure of initial and final nucleus is determined from the dependence of various direct mechanisms contributions from spatial configurations.  相似文献

An angular correlation experiment of the 6Li(p, pd)4He reaction at 100 MeV has been performed using a symmetric and coplanar geometry and covering an angular range from 45.5 to 57°. In addition to the conventional ΔE-E telescope systems for the detection of both protons and deuterons, a 14° analyzing magnet was employed to select deuterons of a given momentum range. The results for the ground state transition are consistent with those obtained at other incident energies. The angular distribution for the transition to the 20 MeV excited state of the recoiling α-particle was also obtained and the overall magnitude of the differential cross section is at least an order of magnitude smaller than that of the ground state transition. The plane wave impulse approximation (PWIA) was used to analyze the experimental results. A form factor was generated using the Saxon-Woods potential as the d-α inter-cluster potential. Satisfactory agreement between theory and experiment was obtained. A value of 0.45 ±0.08 was extracted for the deuteron clustering probability on 6Li. The exchange and the optical distortion effects were also discussed.  相似文献

Neutron total cross sections of 6Li are measured at intervals of ? 10 keV from ≈ 0.1 to 4.8 MeV with precisions of ≈ 1 to 3 %. Differential elastic scattering cross sections are measured at intervals of ? 100 keV from 1.5 to 4.0 MeV at 10 or more scattering angles distributed between ≈ 20 and 160 deg. Differential inelastic scattering cross sections are measured at selected angles in the energy range 3.5 to 4.0 MeV. The experimental results are analyzed in terms of R-matrix theory and the model parameters used to deduce the 6Li(n,α) cross sections. The implications of the measurements and their interpretation on the level structure of 7Li and the reaction mechanisms are discussed.  相似文献

The elastic and inelastic scattering of α-partieles by 24Mg is investigated at bombarding energies between 15.4 and 19.1 MeV. Particular attention is given to the analysis of the inelastic scattering to the 3+ unnatural-parity state at 5.22 MeV. Both energy-averaged angular distributions and fine-energy-resolution excitation functions are used in the analysis. It is found that the inelastic scattering to the (3+, 5.22 MeV) state may be interpreted as pure compound nucleus scattering. This fact is used to investigate whether the incoherent addition of a compound nucleus cross section and a direct cross section, as has been done in recent analyses, is a realistic way to describe energy-averaged scattering data which contain both direct and compound contributions.  相似文献

The charge-exchange reaction p(6He, 6Li)n is studied in reverse kinematics with a secondary 6He beam at 41.6 MeV/nucleon. The transition connecting the ground state of 6He to its isobaric analog state in 6Li has been measured and analyzed in the context of a microscopic calculation. The angular distribution is shown to be sensitive to the nuclear interaction potential and to the radii of the density distribution of 6He. It is shown that only a coherent microscopic analysis may disentangle the different contributions.  相似文献

The differential cross section of elastic and inelastic scattering of 3He ions on the 13C nucleus has been measured at an energy of 37.9 MeV. By fitting the shape of the measured angular distribution of the elastic scattering the parameters of the optical model have been found. These parameters have been used for the DWBA calculations of angular distributions corresponding to excitations of the 13C levels 3.09(1/2+) MeV, 3.68(3/2) MeV, 3.85(5/2+) MeV, 7.55(5/2) MeV, 8.84(1/2) MeV and 11.85(7/2+) MeV. Several sets of transition densities calculated with different effective nucleon-nucleon interactions and six different M3Y interactions between a projectile and target nucleon have been tested. Analysis of the inelastic scattering of 135 MeV protons on 13C is also presented, which enabled us to obtain additional information about the tested structure models.  相似文献

The cross sections of inelastic electron scattering on 4He leading to the quasi-bound state (0+, ε = 20.1 MeV) were measured in the momentum transfer range 0.8 fm?2 < q2 < 2.4 fm?2. We found it to be a pure longitudinal transition and give the form factor of this C0transition.  相似文献

At an energy of 25 MeV and in the angular range 7°−175° in the laboratory frame, angular distributions were measured for elastic deuteron scattering on 6Li nuclei and for the respective inelastic-scattering processes accompanied by the transitions to the ground state (1+) of the 6Li nucleus and to its excited state at E x = 2.186 MeV (J π = 3+). The resulting data were analyzed on the basis of the optical model of the nucleus and the coupled-reaction-channel method with allowance for the mechanism of alpha-particle-cluster exchange. It is shown that only upon including, in the analysis, channel coupling and the exchange mechanism can the experimental cross sections for elastic and inelastic scattering be reproduced over the entire range of angles.  相似文献

Starting from a microscopic deformed picture of the 12C nucleus, and using angular momentum projected wave functions, the elastic and inelastic 1 GeV p-scattering differential cross sections have been analysed within the framework of the Glauber theory. From a comparison of the results obtained in a full Glauber calculation and in the optical limit, it has been shown that the elastic scattering and, to a lesser extent, the transition to the 2+(4.44 MeV) level are only weakly affected by the long-range correlations. In contrast the scattering to the 4+(14.08 MeV) state includes crucial multi-step contributions which affect the differential cross section both in shape and magnitude. Similarly the corrections to the DWIA are essential for the transition to the 3?(9.64 MeV) state and a satisfactory explanation of the qualitative differences observed between the 2+ and 3? inelastic cross sections in 12C is given. The great sensitivity of the cross sections to the nuclear deformation is shown and a generally good agreement with experiment for both the electron form factors and 1 GeV p cross sections has been obtained for the ground-state intraband transitions using a single oblate intrinsic state. The importance of a correct treatment of the rotational motion through the angular momentum projection is underlined and the use of the adiabatic approxmation is critically examined.  相似文献

Differential cross sections and analyzing powers were measured for inelastic scattering of 160 MeV protons to the 48Ca 10.24 MeV, 1+ state. DWIA calculations with shell-model wave functions which fit inelastic electron scattering form factors predict too much cross section at small q and too little at large q for inelastic proton scattering. These results are consistent with the q-dependent modification of magnetic transitions anticipated from mesonic effects such as virtual Δ(1232)-hole excitations.  相似文献

Differential cross sections for elastic p 6He, p 8Li, and p 9Li scattering at two energies of 70 and 700 MeV per nucleon were calculated within the Glauber theory of multiple diffractive scattering. Threeparticle wave functions (α-n-n for 6He, α-t-n for 8Li, and 7Li-n-n for 9Li) were used for realistic potentials of intercluster interactions. The sensitivity of elastic scattering to proton-nucleus interaction and to the structure of nuclei was explored. In particular, the dependence of the differential cross section on the contribution of higher order collisions, on scattering on the core and peripheral nucleons, and on the contribution of small wave-function components and their asymptotic behavior was determined. A comparison with available experimental data and with the results of calculations within different formalisms was performed.  相似文献

The 6Li(d, 2d)4He and 6Li(d, dα)2H reactions were performed at 27 MeV. Analyses of these and the 42.8 and 55 MeV 6Li(α, 2α)2H reactions were performed using distorted wave and plane wave impulse approximations. The kinematic and potential coupling approximations to final state three-body Schrödinger equation and the post and prior form approximations to off-shell scattering cross section were studied for the three reactions. It was found that only the kinematic coupling and post form approximations could be used for the consistent analyses of the three reactions. The effects of distortions and localization of the reactions were investigated. Manifestations of deuteron cluster deformation were noticed in the analyses of the three reactions.  相似文献

Using neutron-capture γ-rays from cobalt, the 209Bi(γ,γ') and natHg(γ,γ') reactions were studied using a 53 cm3 Ge(Li) detector and the reactor facility at the Rhode Island Nuclear Science Center. Resonant scattering was observed at 4.924±0.005 MeV for natHg. Resonant scattering was observed at 5.609±0.005 MeV in 209Bi, with an effective cross section of 348±70 mb. The ratio of intensity scattered at 150° to that scattered at 100° was found to be 1.18±0.12 for 209Bi. This is consistent with a dipole transition to a 92 state but does not eliminate other transitions and spin assignments. No significant inelastic structure was found in the spectra from either sample. The improved energy specification in the present experiments has led to different energy assignments for the resonant states and hence, different incident intensities are producing the observed scattering. These differences lead to higher effective cross sections than those previously reported. Minimum ground state level widths for 209Bi and natHg were estimated to be 0.032 eV and 0.43 eV respectively. The need for high-resolution survey data to re-establish systematics is suggested.  相似文献

Existing experimental data on elastic and inelastic deuteron scattering on 6Li nuclei in the energy range from 8 to 50 MeV were analyzed within the approach of coupled reaction channels. The coupling of elastic scattering and inelastic scattering accompanied by the transition to the 3+ state at E x = 2.186 MeV and the mechanism involving the exchange of an alpha-particle cluster were taken into account in respective calculations. The phenomenological potentials obtained from the present analysis describe well experimental angular distributions at all energies and in full angular ranges. The depths of the real and imaginary parts of the potentials in question depend smoothly on energy at fixed values of the remaining parameters. The energy dependence of relevant volume integrals agrees well with similar data for the p + 6Li, ?? + 6Li, and 12C + 12C systems and with the predictions of a microscopic theory.  相似文献

The excitation of the unnatural parity state (2?, 8.87 MeV) of 16O by inelastic scattering of 40 MeV α particle is investigated microscopically. The two step excitation mechanism via the 3? state at 6.13 MeV is found to reproduce the magnitude of the measured cross section of the 2- excitation. The α-nucleon interaction used for the 2- excitation also reproduces the 3- excitation.  相似文献

Elastic scattering of 4He+40Ca and 4He+44Ti reactions at backward angles has been analyzed using two differentmodels, microscopic and semimicroscopic folding potentials. The derived real potentials supplemented with phenomenological Woods–Saxon imaginary potentials, provide good agreement with the experimental data at energy Ec.m. = 21.8 MeV without need to renormalize the potentials. Coupledchannels calculations are used to extract the inelastic scattering cross section to the low-lying state 2+ (1.083 MeV) of 44Ti. The deformation length is obtained and compared with the electromagnetic measurement values as well as those obtained from previous studies.  相似文献

The measured 7Li(p,n), and 6Li(n,p) cross sections at 0° show a high-energy peak (≈25 MeV/c FWHM) which we attribute primarily to nuclear charge exchange leading to final states in 7Be, 6Be, and 6He, respectively. By contrast, the 7Li(n,p) cross section at O° shows a broad weak high-energy peak believed due mostly to break-up processes. At 16°, the 6,7Li(n,p) cross sections are dominated by quasi-elastic scattering.  相似文献

Differential cross sections for the (3He, t) charge-exchange reaction have been measured on a 12C target with 217 MeV 3He particles. High energy tritons were detected using a thick Ge(Li) crystal (43 mm) and a 4 mm Si(Li) detector in an E-ΔE telescope. Microscopic DWBA calculations have been carried out, using the rather well known wave functions of the 12C levels from Gillet and Vinh-Mau. The sensitivity of this reaction to the different terms of the two-body effective interaction is discussed. A comparison of the (3He, t) and (3He, 3He') reactions populating analog final states is also presented. The two-step mechanisms (3He,α)(α, t) and (3He, d)(d, t) are introduced for the first two levels 1+(g.s.) and 2+(0.969 MeV) and the results emphasize the importance of such processes at high energy.  相似文献
