Zusammenfassung Im nachstehenden Artikel werden mikrophysikalische Vorgänge behandelt, die das Auftreten schneller Schichtungswellen in Neonglimmentladungen veranlassen können. Es werden sowohl die qualitativen Abhängigkeiten, als auch die ziffernmäigen Werte der Parameter der Schichtungswellen mit den charakteristischen Gröenwerten der in diesem Entladungstypus vor sich gehenden Vorgänge verglichen. Auf Grund der vorgenommenen Vergleiche kann gesagt werden, da die Relaxationszeiten der schnellen Wellen durch die Diffusionslebensdauer der atomaren, bzw. molekularen Ionen gegeben sind.

The use of fluorescent X-rays for contact microradiography
The possibilities of using fluorescentK-radiation of the elements Fe, Ti and Ca for contact microradiography of thin, little absorbing samples were studied and a simple set-up for carrying out this method, which uses a common type of microstructural X-ray tube as a source of the exciting radiation, was proposed. The experiments performed showed that if large magnifications are not required secondary-excitedK-radiation of the above-mentioned elements can be advantageously used for contact microradiography without the exposure times becoming impracticably long.

This paper discuses the , decay process in a field formed by the super-position of two fields: a crossed constant field and and electromagnetic plane-wave field. An expression is derived for the decay probability under the assumption of a nonzero -neutrino mass. The dependence of the decay probability on the lepton spin and on the external-field parameters is analyzed. The spectrum of the bremsstrahlung due to the complete slowing down in aluminium of beta particles belonging to the continuous spectrum, was calculated for an arrangement, in which the beta emitter is completely enclosed in an absorber. The Bethe-Heitler cross-section, corrected by an empirical factor, was used. A table is given which makes it possible to calculate bremsstrahlung spectra of beta emitters with their maximal energy between 0·6 MeV and 2·0 MeV; the necessary additional calculations are quite simple. The error in the calculation is practically determined by the uncertainty in the determination of the cross-section and is equal to about 10%.

Exact self-consistent solutions of the equations that describe a system of interacting spinor and massless scalar fields with the interaction Lagrangian Lint=,,(S), where (S) is an arbitrary function of the invariant S=, are obtained in Bianci I space. We consider the mechanism of macroscopic polarization of semiconducting plates owing to the interaction of free carriers with an impurity level, in which role the level of the residual impurity of compensated semiconductors may appear. This mechanism, in combination with the diffusion-drift mechanism of polarization, results in additional dispersion of the real () and imaginary () parts of the dielectric permittivity, this being particularly significant for semiconductors of thickness smaller than the screening length Ls of free carriers. The character of the behavior of and depends on the relation between the Maxwell relation time M and the times of carrier capture: c and ejection e by an impurity center. For cetm and (/Ls) e/c1 the dispersion of and is the same as for thick plates (/Ls1). The influence of the magnetic after-effect on the rectangularity of the hysteresis loop of MgMn ferrites in two different compositions was studied; it was found that this influence is so small that it cannot be the actual cause of a rectangular hysteresis loop of such materials.

The change in frequency of quartz piezoelectric resonators in a d-c electric polarizing field cannot be explained merely by a change in the dimensions of the resonator due to the polarizing field caused by the inverse piezoelectric effect and electrostriction. We are forced to admit that the elastic constants also change in a polarizing field. A phenomenological interpretation of the influence of a d-c electric polarizing field on the frequency of quartz resonators is proposed here, based on newly introduced quantities characterizing such a change. In conclusion it is shown in what way the quantities, on which the phenomenological theory is based, can be determined experimentally.

It was pointed out in paper [1] that special cases of this solution are the problems of the torsion of a notched and unnotched rectangularly-shaped bar. Here, some results obtained earlier are generalized and in one concrete case very good agreement is obtained with the results of Sapondjan [2].

A theory of the azimuthal bunching of electrons injected into the betatron is presented and compared with the experiments described in [1]. The bunching is treated as a small perturbation of the stationary beam.The stationary injected beam is replaced by the corresponding equilibrium beam of the same perveance so that the angular velocity spread of the injected electrons is proportional to the square root of the injection perveance.Self-consistent wave solutions for the perturbation of the stationary solution are then found. Equations giving the amplification of small density or energy disturbances along the beam are derived. These disturbances are assumed to be introduced by density or velocity modulation of the injected beam. The condition for the spontaneous occurrence of bunching is deduced by assuming that the disturbances do not vanish even when there is no modulation of the injected beam. The resulting expressions for the threshold perveance and the rise-time of the disturbance are in reasonably good agreement with the experiments. Such agreement may be considered as further verification of the statement made in [1] that the amplification of the disturbances is caused by the negative mass instability mechanism.

Zusammenfassung Es werden die Ergebnisse der Messungen der Koerzitivkraft von Eisen, Nickel und einiger Fe-Ni-Legierungen in Abhängigkeit von der plastischen Verformung durch Kaltwalzen angegeben. Gemessen wurde in Richtung parallel und senkrecht zur Walzrichtung. Die Ergebnisse werden insbesondere vom Gesichtspunkt des Einflusses der Versetzungen und der einachsigen induzierten Anisotropie diskutiert.

The influence of the concentration of an activator (C NaI) and of plastic deformation on a change in the contribution of a slow component to the decay of the -scintillations of CsI–Na crystals was investigated, as well as the influence of C NaI on a change in the shape of the luminescence excitation spectrum in the region of absorption of activator centers (AC) and of vacancy-related centers (VRC) and also on a change in the intercenter time of deexcitation of the centers indicated. It is shown that AC and VRC participate in the photoluminescence and -scintillations of CsI–Na crystals. In the -scintillations, AC are responsible for the component 1 = 370 nsec, whereas the components 1 = 460 nsec and 2 2 sec are associated with VRC. The reduction of 1 from 770 to 560 nsec with an increase in C NaI from 2·10–3 to 3·10–2 mole% and from 570 to 470 nsec after plastic deformation of the crystals ( = 5%) along the 111 axis is caused by a decrease in the number of VRC. The mechanisms underlying the -scintillations of the CaI–Na crystals containing AC and VRC and also the decrease in the number of VRC are discussed.  相似文献

A scintillation spectrometer in ring geometry was used to study the gamma rays accompanying the inelastic scattering of fast neutrons on Na, Mg, Mn, Fe and I. The energies of the gamma rays were in most cases arranged into the cascade decay schemes of excited nuclei. Some of the transitions, which had not yet been described, were also found. These are the lines (2147±21) keV for Mg25, (2135±22) keV, (2750±40) keV, (3040±50) keV and (3200±50) keV for Mn55 and a series of other gamma rays emitted during the interaction of fast neutrons with I127, which are given in the paper.

We propose a new class of cluster growth models where growth sites have a finite lifetime , which contains as special cases the Eden model ( = ) and the kinetic growth walk ( = 1). For finite but large values the growth process can be characterized by a crossover timet X; for times belowt X an Eden-type cluster is formed, while for times abovet X the growth process belongs to the universality class of the self-avoiding random walk. The crossover time increases monotonically with . We develop a scaling theory for the time evolution of the mean end-to-end distance between the seed and the last-added site, and for the average number of growth sites by which the kinetics of the growth process can be characterized. We test this scaling theory by extensive Monte Carlo simulations. We also extend our results to inhomogeneous media (percolation systems).  相似文献

The arrangement of dislocations formed in a single crystal of the alloy Fe-4·2% Si by a spark discharge in air is studied. The dislocations are made visible by etching on the surfaces perpendicular and parallel to the axis of the crater. The results of the observations are explained on the basis of microphysical conceptions of plastic deformation.
