A planar complex, [Rh(bpy)(2)](+) (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine), was obtained from [Rh(ox)(bpy)(2)](+) (ox = oxalato) by photoirradiation. A rate constant k for the photoreaction was evaluated as 1 x 10(8) s(-1) in simple first-order kinetics, whereas a ligand dissociation, a reorganization of the coordinated bpy, and a two-electron transfer were involved in the reaction. The process of the Rh(I) complex generation was investigated in terms of a discrete variational (DV)-Xalpha molecular orbital calculation on [Rh(ox)(HN=CHCH=NH)(2)](+) instead of [Rh(ox)(bpy)(2)](+). From the calculation, using the transition-state method, it was predicted that a transition of the ox pi orbital to the metal 4d(z)()2 orbital caused the ligand dissociation and the reorganization of the coordinated bpy occurred in the ox pi to Rh 4d(x)()2(-y)2 excited state stabilized by the ox elimination. Upon release of the ligand and a change from octahedral to square-planar geometry, the electron density on the metal increased and the Rh 4d orbital acquired a d(8) electronic configuration.  相似文献

The formation and the decay of the triplet metal to ligand charge transfer state ((3)MLCT) of ruthenium(II) bis(2,2'-bipyridine)(4,4'-dicarboxy-2,2'-bipyridine) (Ru(bpy)(2)(dcbpy)) were characterized using photoacoustic calorimetry. At pH 6 and 2, the (3)MLCT state formation leads to a volume change of -8 mL mol(-1) and enthalpy changes of 17 kcal mol(-1) and 13 kcal mol(-1), respectively. We attribute the volume contraction to structural changes and to solvent electrostriction. At pH 4, the photoexcitation of the complex leads to an expansion of 14 mL mol(-1) and an enthalpy change of approximately 119 kcal mol(-1) due to protonation of the carboxyl group in the excited state.  相似文献

The complete IR spectra of the title complex Ni(mnt)(bpy) (mnt=maleonitriledithiolate, bpy=2,2'-bipyridine) and a new method to analyze vibrational spectra for such a complicated metal complex are reported in this paper. The molecular geometry, binding, electronic structure and spectroscopic property of it have been studied in detail by theoretical calculations. The geometry optimization from PM3 calculations give that this molecule is of a planar structure with the symmetry point group C(2v) and its ground state is the spin triplet state. The vibrational and electronic spectra were calculated by PM3 and ZINDO/S methods, respectively. The scientific method of analyzing vibrational spectra is established herein by giving main fixed points and pivotal vibrational units. Besides the regular symbols, the new defined symbols eta and M play an important role in describing the vibration modes accurately and vividly.  相似文献

A series of spirooxazine-containing 2,2'-bipyridine ligands and their rhenium(i) tricarbonyl complexes has been designed and synthesized, and their photophysical, photochromic and electrochemical properties have been studied. The X-ray crystal structures of two of the complexes have been determined. Detailed studies showed that the emission properties of the complexes could readily be switched through photochromic reactions.  相似文献

The coordination ability of the electroactive TTF-based chelating ligand 5,5'-bis(4,5-bis(thiomethyl)-4'-carbamoyltetrathiafulvalene)-2,2'-bipyridine (L) has been tested with Cu(I) and Cu(II) centres. [(L)2Cu(I)](PF6), [(L)2Cu(II)](OTf)2 and [(L)Cu(II)(DMF)3](OTf)2 have been synthesized. A single-crystal X-ray analysis was performed on [(L)Cu(II)(DMF)3](OTf)2, showing a distorted octahedral geometry around the Cu(II) centre, and the formation of dimeric units in the solid state through weak coordination in apical position of an amide oxygen atom from a neighbouring complex. Magnetic data show that the paramagnetic metallic centres are isolated, in agreement with the solid-state structure. Electrochemical measurements were performed on the three complexes and in all cases the Cu(I)/Cu(II) and TTF/TTF+*/TTF2+ redox processes were observed.  相似文献

The effect of temperature (2–100 K) on the emission spectra and lifetimes of [M(2 = phos)2]ClO4 (M = Rh(I), Ir(I): 2 = phos is cis-1,2-bis-(diphenylphosphino)ethylene) is interpreted with a two-level spin-orbit-split emitting manifold. For [Ir(2 = phos)2]ClO4, Δ? = 143cm?1, τ(lower) = 999μs, and τ(higher) = 1.54 μs. For the rhodium species, Δ? = 35 cm?1, τ(lower) = 5920 μs, and τ(higher) = 20.3 μs.  相似文献

Novel carbonyl complexes of rhodium(I) and rhodium(III) containing the bidenate nitrogen donor ligand 2,2′-biquinoline (biq) have been prepared; they are of the types RhX(CO)2 biq and RhX(CO)biq (X = Cl, Br, I). Cationic carbonyl and substituted carbonyl complexes of the types [Rh(CO)2biq]ClO4 and [Rh(CO)biqL2]ClO4, where L is tertiary phosphine or arsine have also been isolated. In spite of considerable steric crowding around the nitrogen atoms, 2,2′-biquinoline behaves much like 2,2′-bipyridine in forming carbonyl complexes of rhodium.  相似文献

Three linkage isomers, bis(thiocyanato-S)(2,2'-bipyridine)platinum(II) ([Pt(SCN)(2)(bpy)]), (thiocyanato-S)(thiocyanato-N)(2,2'-bipyridine)platinum(II) ([Pt(SCN)(NCS)(bpy)]), and bis(thiocyanato-N)(2,2'-bipyridine)platinum(II) ([Pt(NCS)(2)(bpy)]) were isolated, and their structures were elucidated. The crystal data are as follows: for [Pt(SCN)(2)(bpy)], C(12)H(8)N(4)S(2)Pt, orthorhombic, P2(1)2(1)2(1) (No. 19), a = 12.929(9) A, b = 18.67(1) A, c = 5.497(4) A, Z = 4; for [Pt(SCN)(NCS)(bpy)], C(12)H(8)N(4)S(2)Pt, monoclinic, P2(1)/n (No. 14), a = 10.909(7) A, b = 7.622(4) A, c = 16.02(1) A, beta = 102.323(7) degrees, Z = 4; for [Pt(NCS)(2)(bpy)], C(12)H(8)N(4)S(2)Pt, orthorhombic, Pbcm (No. 57), a = 10.3233(8) A, b = 19.973(2) A, c = 6.4540(5) A, Z = 4. The stacking structures of the isomers were found to be different depending on the coordination geometries based on the N- and S-coordination of the thiocyanato ligands, which control the color and luminescence of the crystals sensitively. The isomerization behaviors of the complex have been investigated both in solution and in the solid state. In solution, stepwise thermal isomerization from [Pt(SCN)(2)(bpy)] to [Pt(NCS)(2)(bpy)] by way of [Pt(SCN)(NCS)(bpy)] was observed using (1)H NMR spectroscopy. Reverse isomerization, from [Pt(NCS)(2)(bpy)] to [Pt(SCN)(NCS)(bpy)] and [Pt(SCN)(2)(bpy)], occurred when irradiated with near ultraviolet (UV) light. In contrast, the [Pt(SCN)(2)(bpy)] yellow crystals exhibited thermal isomerization directly to red crystals of [Pt(NCS)(2)(bpy)], as detected by changes in the emission spectrum, which indicates that the flip of two SCN(-) ligands correlatively occurred in the solid state. The yellow crystals of [Pt(SCN)(NCS)(bpy)] were also converted to the thermodynamically stable red crystal of [Pt(NCS)(2)(bpy)] though the reverse isomerization has never been observed to occur by photoirradiation in the solid state.  相似文献

Acid-base properties for ruthenium(II) bis(2,2'-bipyridine) 3-carboxyl-2,2'-bipyridine reveal a ground state pK(a) of 0.82 +/- 0.07 and an excited state pK(a) of 2.31 +/- 0.05, a 1.5 pH unit increase from the ground state. The excited state pK(a) is temperature independent while the ground state pK(a)(0) increases with temperature and has DeltaH(0) and DeltaS(0) values of -990 +/- 149 cm(-)(1) and -4.57 +/- 0.48 cm(-)(1) K(-)(1), respectively. The acidic form of the complex emits at lower energy than the basic form at both 296 and 77 K. The emission energy maxima are solvent dependent and decrease in energy when the solvent changes from 4:1 (v/v) 2-MeTHF-CH(2)Cl(2) to water and when the pH decreases. Changes in excited state lifetimes with emission energy follow the energy gap law with an intercept of 49 +/- 1 and a slope of (2.11 +/- 0.09) x 10(-)(3). Emission quantum yields for protonated and deprotonated species in 4:1 (v/v) 2-MeTHF-CH(2)Cl(2) are 0.023 +/- 0.001 and 0.110 +/- 0.002, respectively. The temperature dependence of the emission lifetimes gives energy barriers of 270 cm(-)(1) for the complex in aqueous solution at pH -0.5, and 990 cm(-)(1) in aqueous solution at pH 4.5, and 1920 cm(-)(1) in 4:1 (v/v) 2-MeTHF-CH(2)Cl(2.)  相似文献

Two new ortho-metalated rhodium(III) complexes of the formula [Rh(ppy)(2)(L)](+), ppy = 2-phenylpyridine and L = 2,2'-dipyridylketone (dpk) (), 2,2'-dipyridylamine (HDPA) () have been synthesized and subjected to X-ray diffraction crystal structural, photophysical and electrochemical studies. Density functional theory calculations have also been performed to get rationalizations of the optical orbitals and redox orbitals concerning photophysical and electrochemical data. Complex exhibits the triplet ligand-to-ligand charge transfer ((3)LLCT) [pi(ppy)-pi*(dpk)] phosphorescence at 77K (520 nm) and at room temperature (555 nm), while complex shows triplet ligand centred ((3)LC) [pi-pi*(ppy)] phosphorescence only at 77K (460 nm). Both complexes and have similar irreversible oxidation potentials (+1.19 V for and +1.15 V for vs. Fc/Fc(+)). These two complexes show different characteristics in the reduction process: a reversible process occurs for at -1.31 V, while an irreversible process is observed for 2 at -1.85 V.  相似文献

Two new bidentate ligands (1 and 2) with bicyclic guanidine moieties were synthesized and attached to a Ru(II)(bpy)(2) core (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine) to afford complexes 3 and 4, which were characterized by spectroscopic and electrochemical methods. Complex 4 was further characterized by X-ray crystallography. In cyclic voltammetric studies, both complexes show a Ru(II/III) couple, which is 500 mV less positive than the Ru(II/III) couple of Ru(bpy)(3)(2+). The (1)MLCT and (3)MLCT states of 3 (560 nm/745 nm) and 4 (550 nm/740 nm) are significantly red-shifted with respect to Ru(bpy)(3)(2+) (440 nm/620 nm). Compounds 3 and 4 exhibit emission from a Ru(II)-to-bpy (3)MLCT state, which is rarely the emitting state at λ > 700 nm in [Ru(bpy)(2)(N-N)](2+) complexes.  相似文献

A series of photochromic spirooxazine-containing zinc(II) diimine bis-thiolate complexes were successfully synthesized, and their photophysical and photochromic properties were studied. The X-ray crystal structure of complex 1a has also been determined. Upon excitation by UV light at 330 nm, all the ligands and complexes exhibit photochromic behavior. The thermal bleaching kinetics of the ligands and the complexes were studied in dimethylformamide at various temperatures. The photochemical quantum yields for the photochromic reactions of the ligands and complexes were also determined.  相似文献

The luminescence properties of ruthenium(ii) tris(2,2'-bipyridine) have been recorded in butyronitrile solution and in a transparent KBr disk over a reasonable temperature range. In solution, spectral curve fitting routines indicate that emission arises solely from an ensemble of triplet states, each of which is of Metal-to-Ligand, Charge-Transfer (MLCT) character and of closely comparable energy. At ambient temperature, dual emission is observed for the KBr disk and interpreted in terms of luminescence from both the ensemble and the fourth MLCT triplet state that lies at slightly higher energy. Relative reorganisation energies, energies, Huang-Rhys factors and radiative rate constants have been calculated for the two emissive states. It is confirmed that the fourth MLCT triplet state possesses more singlet character than the ensemble.  相似文献

Two neutral complexes of formula [M(bpy)(cbdca)] [where M is palladium(II) (Pd(II)) or platinum(II) (Pt(II)), bpy is 2,2'-bipyridine and cbdca is anion of 1,1-cyclobutanedicarboxylic acid] have been synthesized. These water soluble complexes have been characterized by chemical analysis and conductivity measurements as well as 1H-NMR, ultraviolet-visible and infrared spectroscopy. In these complexes the ligand cbdca coordinates to Pt(II) or Pd(II) as bidentate with two oxygen atoms. They are nonelectrolyte in conductivity water. These complexes inhibit the growth of P388 lymphocytic leukemia cells and their targets are DNA. They invariably show ID50 values less than cisplatin. [Pt(bpy)(cbdca)] and [Pd(bpy)(cbdca)] have been interacted with calf thymus DNA and bind to DNA through coordinate covalent bond. In addition, the influence of binding of these complexes on the intensity of EtBr-DNA have been studied. They bind to DNA via a nonintercalating mode.  相似文献

A N,N,N',N'-tetraphenylbenzidine-bridged bis(2,2'-bipyridine) ligand and corresponding diruthenium complexes were synthesized and characterized. They show rich multistep redox processes due to the stepwise oxidations of the amine units and ruthenium components. Their absorption and emission spectral changes in response to electrochemical stimulus were examined by spectroelectrochemical measurements. DFT and TDDFT calculations were performed to complement the experimental results.  相似文献

The protonation and iron(II) coordination properties of a bis(2,2'-bipyridine) ligand L were investigated in methanol. The protonated forms showed allosteric effects due to the flexibility of the strand. Speciation studies of the corresponding ferrous complexes were carried out as a function of pH and iron(II) concentrations. A combination of electrospray mass spectroscopy, potentiometry, and spectrophotometry allowed the determination in solution of three ferrous complexes, one mononuclear (L2Fe2+) and two dinuclear (L2Fe2(4+) and L3Fe2(4+)) species. Their structure was deduced from the metal spin state and confirmed by 1H NMR measurements and molecular modeling. The dissociation process of the triple-stranded diferrous helicate L3Fe2(4+) by OH- revealed two rate-limiting steps. The former leads to the formation of a monoferrous triple-stranded compound via a classical mechanism, which involves hydroxy-ferrous complexes. A similar process was observed in the latter step for the release of the ferrous cation from the mononuclear intermediate. Taking into account the structural, thermodynamic, and kinetic features provided by the present study, we could propose a self-assembling mechanism of the triple-stranded diferrous helicate.  相似文献

The anthracene lumiphore was linked to the chelating ligand 2,2'-bipyridine, forming 4-[N-(2-anthryl)carbamoyl]-4'-methyl-2,2'-bipyridine (bpyAnth). Coupling through an amide linkage provides some electronic isolation of the anthracene lumiphore. Electrochemistry suggested little change of the anthracene oxidation whether free (1.35 V) linked to 2,2'-bipyridine as bpyAnth (1.30 V) or appended to Fe(II) (1.29 V). The bpyAnth ligand retained the structured luminescence characteristic of anthracene at 375, 400, 419, and 441 nm. This anthracene emission persists even when bpyAnth is complexed to an Fe(II) center. The complex [Fe(bpyAnth)3]2+ is emissive, in marked contrast to typical polyazine iron(II) complexes. This bpyAnth ligand serves as a luminescently tagged analogue of 2,2'-bipyridine, useful for coordination to a variety of metals.  相似文献

A Ru(II) complex having tris(2-pyridylmethl)amine (TPA) and 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy), [Ru(TPA)(bpy)]X(2) (X = ClO(4), PF(6)), exhibited a severe distortion of the coordination of the axial pyridine moiety of TPA due to steric hindrance. The complex showed interesting dissociation-binding behavior of the axial pyridine arm to form a solvent adduct with TPA ligation in a unique meridional tridentate fashion. The complex undergoes thermal dissociation to form solvent-coordinated species via an S(N)2-like mechanism with activation energy of 117 kJ/mol. In contrast, the complex showed reversible photochemical dissociation and rebinding via an S(N)1-like mechanism by MLCT irradiation. The photochemical dissociation was accelerated approximately 200-fold faster than the thermal process. The dissociation process involves selective binding behavior toward external ligands (solvents) with pi-acceptor character, which is indispensable, and no sigma-donating molecules could bind to the Ru(II) center. The guest molecule can be released upon photoirradiation after its thermal binding.  相似文献

Complexes of the type [Rh(Chel)ED]PF6 (Chel = 2,2-bipyridine; 1,10-phenanthroline; methyl substituted phenanthrolines; ED = 1,5-hexadiene; X- = PF6-; B(Ph)4) have been synthesized. They are good catalysts for hydrogenation of ketones in an alkaline medium even at atmospheric pressure and room temperature. In the presence of an excess of Chel (Chel : Rh = 2), they also catalyse the selective reduction of C=O groups in the presence of C=C bonds.  相似文献
