1-Substituierte 1,4-Dihydro-3,5-pyridindicarbaldehyde

1-Alkyl- and 1-aryl-substituted derivates of 4-ethinyl-1,4-dihydro-3,5-pyridindicarbaldehydes8–16 were synthesized by treating the 4H-pyrane2 with aliphatic, aromatic and heterocyclic amines and amino acids. Their properties are discussed on the basis of nmr and uv-spectra and CNDO/S-Cl-calculations.

     

1,4-Dihydro-1,4-diphosphinine fused with two tetrathiafulvalenes

Electrochemical and theoretical investigations demonstrate through-bond interactions between two TTF moieties fused to a 1,4-dihydro-1,4-diphosphinine, for which the single crystal X-ray structure of the cis isomer is described together with that of a mixed-valent, charge-localized, radical cation salt with Mo6O19(2-), obtained upon electrocrystallization of the same cis isomer.     

Synthesis of photoactive 1-methyl-1-R-4-(1,4-dioxo-1,4-dihydronaphthalen-2-yl)piperazinium salts

Photoactive 4-(1,4-dioxo-1,4-dihydronaphthalen-2-yl)piperazinium salts were synthesized by alkylation of 3-chloro-2-(piperazin-1-yl)- and 2-arylamino-3-(4-methylpiperazin-1-yl)-1,4-naphthoquinones. Light sensitivities of materials obtained by adsorption of the synthesized piperazinium salts from solution onto oxidized aluminum support were estimated.     

New Condensation Products from 5,6-Dihydro-4-hydroxy-6-methyl-2-pyrone

We report the synthesis of new condensation products from 5,6-dihydro-4-hydroxy-6-methyl-2-pyrone, providing evidence for the particular reactivity of the 3 and 4 positions of this compound.     

Synthesis of 1,4-dihydro-4-methyl-1-phenyl-5H-1,3,4-benzotriazepin-5-ones

The synthesis of 1,4-dihydro-4-methyl-1-phenyl-5H-1,3,4-benzotriazepin-5-one ( 4a ) and its 8-chloro analog ( 4b ) is described. Attempted synthesis of the 2-methyl analog of 4a from 2-(phenylamino)benzoic acid 1-methylhydrazide ( 10 ) and triethyl orthoaeetate led only to the Schiff base intermediate, 2-(phenylamino)benzoic acid 2-(1-ethoxyethylidene)-1-methylhydrazide ( 11 ). Cyclization of 11 was attempted unsuccessfully with a variety of reagents. The intere?ting reaction products from the treatment of 11 with trifluoroacetic acid are described.     

The selective preparation of 1,4-diaryl-6-methyl- and 1,6-diaryl-4-methyl-2-(1H)pyrimidinones

N-Phenylurea reacted with benzoylacetone derivatives (I) to give 1,4-diaryl-6-methyl-2-(1H)pyrimidinones (II) in addition to low yields of 1,6-diaryl-4-methyl-2-(1H)pyrimidinones (IV), while N-phenylthiourea afforded only 1,6-diaryl-4-methyl-2-(1H)pyrimidinethiones (III) in good yields. Further 1,6-diaryl-4-methyl-2-(1H)- pyrimidinethiones (III) were successfully converted in satisfactory yields into the corresponding 2-(1H)-pyrimidinones (IV) by the treatment with methyl iodide in the presence of sodium methoxide in methanol at room temperature.
