Abstract

Thin layer chromatographic behaviour of 30 organic acids on coatings of calcium sulphate and calcium sulphate containing charcoal, p-dimethyl-aminobenzaldehyde, flyash, silica gel G etc. has been studied. Farm chemicals: plant growth regulators (benzoic, cinnamic, gallic, β-naphthalene acetic, β-naphthoxy acetic and indole-3-acetic acids) and herbicides (phenoxy acetic acid) have been separated from one another and from several other organic acids.

Studies on Fluorescamine. Part II - Thin-Layer Chromatographic Mobilities of Fluorescamine Positive Drugs

Abstract

Fluorescamine reacts with primary amines, it does not react with secondary or tertiary amines, to yield bright acquamarine fluorescent products. This reaction has been developed into a spot test useful for differentiation of amphetamine from methamphetamine; previous spot tests did not have this degree of specificity. The fluorescent products of several primary amines have been demonstrated to have sufficient stability to permit thin-layer chromatography comparisons with authentic materials. The fluorescent derivative of amphetamine has been demonstrated to be capable of differentiation from other fluorescent products formed from fluorescamine based on its unique migration in three different TLC systems.

A convenient thin-layer chromatographic procedure that utilizes neutral solvent systems for the separation of antipyrine, aminopyrine, 4-aminoantipyrine, and 4-nitrosoantipyrine on silica gel adsorbent is reported.     

Thin-Layer Chromatographic Separation of Copper and Mercury Chelates

Abstract

Thin-layer chromatographic separation of metal ions has become immensely popular in analytical chemistry in view of its speed, selectivity and applicability at tracer level. Quinoline-2-aldehyde thiosemicarbazone^1,2 was found to form yellow coloured chelates with metal ions such as copper, nickel, zinc, mercury, iron and lead at pH 7.5 and extract into chloroform. This, however reduces the sensitivity of the reagent as a chromogenic agent but the chromatographic run of the chelates on a thin layer of silica gel coated on glass plate increases the specificity and selectivity of the reagent. In this article we propose a method for separation of copper and mercury chelates from binary mixtures containing chelates of zinc, lead, iron and nickel. The method is applicable for analysis of synthetic mixtures and standard samples.

人参皂苷正相薄层色谱二维分离的优化

 在薄层色谱分离人参皂苷的两种互补性的流动相组分比例与皂苷比移值呈相关关系的基础上 ,以薄层色谱分离中距离最小的两点之间的距离Dmin为优化标准 ,对人参皂苷的二维分离结果进行预测和优化。通过计算机扫描不同流动相组成下的Dmin值得到的三维网络图显示出的最大Dmin下的二维流动相的组成 ,即为达到最佳二维分离结果的流动相组成。以优化的流动相对皂苷进行二维展开 ,分离结果与预测结果吻合 ,且比一维展开分离出了更多的新的皂苷组分。

Thin-Layer Chromatographic Separation of DMSO Complexes of Metal Ions

Abstract

Thin layer chromatography of DMSO complexes of some metal ions in a large number of solvent systems was carried out. The specific separation of DMSO complex of Hg²⁺ from others have been achieved in ethyl acetate media. Other important separations of metal - DMSO complexes are : Ni²⁺ - Co²⁺, Ce³⁺ - La³⁺ and Zn²⁺ - Mn²⁺. Some other possible separations are also reported.

Thin-Layer Chromatographic Separation of 14C-Labeled Metabolites from Photosynthate

Abstract

A method for separating ¹⁴C-labeled metabolites (including key intermediates of the glycolate pathway) from plant extracts by thin-layer chromatography is reported. The method provides for rapid and convenient determination of the ¹⁴C-content of metabolites in leaf samples obtained during kinetic investigations of photosynthesis with ¹⁴CO₂.
