The extraction of cerium(III) and lanthanum(III) by N-benzoyl-N-phenylhydroxylamine (N-BPHA) in chloroform has been studied in order to determine the composition and extraction constants of the extracted chelates. From the results obtained, the best conditions for the separation of cerium from lanthanum (separation factor about 200) have been predicted and experimentally verified.  相似文献

Summary The synergistic mixture comprising picrolonic acid (HPA) and benzo-15-crown-5 (B15C5) in chloroform has been used for the extraction of Ce(III), Eu(III) and Tm(III) as representatives of lanthanide(III) ions from pH 1-2 solutions having ionic strength of 0.1 mol. dm-3(K+/H+, Cl-). The composition of the extracted species has been determined as M(PA)3. nB15C5 where M is Ce, Eu and Tm and n=1 or 2. The influence of various anions and cations on the extraction of these ions has also been studied and only oxalate, cyanide and tartrate have some deleterious effect. The extraction equilibrium constants have been evaluated and discussed.  相似文献

A new chromium(III) complex, [CrCl(naph-gly)phen]?H2O (naph-gly = Schiff base derived from 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde and glycine, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline), has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, electrospray ionization mass spectroscopy, FT-IR, and X-ray single-crystal diffraction. The chromium(III) complex belongs to the trigonal crystal system, P3(1) space group with crystallographic data: a = b = 1.97017(16) nm, c = 1.02991(7) nm, α?=?β?=?90°, γ =120°, V = 3.4621(5) nm3, Dc = 1.476 g?cm?3, Z = 6, F(0 0 0)?=?1578, R1 = 0.0508, wR2 = 0.0907. There are two independent molecules in the crystallographic asymmetric unit of the chromium(III) complex. Each CrIII is six-coordinate to form an octahedral geometry. In the crystal, a 3-D structure is formed through intermolecular hydrogen bonds. The calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA)- and bovine serum albumin (BSA)-binding properties of the complex have been studied by UV absorption, fluorescence, and circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy. Results indicate that the chromium(III) complex binds to CT-DNA in an intercalative mode, and it can bind to BSA and cause conformational changes of BSA.  相似文献

A novel adsorbent of multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) chemically modified silica (MWCNTs-silica) was synthesised and employed as the adsorbent material for solid-phase extraction (SPE) of trace Zn(II), Cu(II), Cd(II), Cr(III), V(V) and As(V) in environmental water samples followed by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry detection. This material inherits the advantages of nanomaterial MWCNTs and conventional silica with dual functional groups (–NH2 and –COOH), and avoid the problem of nanomaterial in SPE, such as high pressure. The factors affecting the separation and preconcentration of target elements such as pH, sample flow rate and volume, eluent concentration and volume were investigated. Under the optimised conditions, the detection limits for Zn(II), Cu(II), Cd(II), Cr(III), V(V) and As(V) were 0.27, 0.11, 0.45, 0.91, 0.55 and 0.67 μg L?1 with the relative standard deviations of 3.1, 5.9, 4.1, 4.0, 7.3 and 8.6% (c = 10 μg L?1, n = 7), respectively. The adsorption capacity of MWCNTs-silica was 26.6, 70.0, 13.8, 58.0, 20.0 and 20.0 mg g?1 for Zn(II), Cu(II), Cd(II), Cr(III), V(V) and As(V), respectively, and the prepared adsorbent could be reused more than 100 times. In order to validate the developed method, two certified reference materials of GSBZ50009-88 and GSBZ 50029-94 environmental waters were analysed and the determined values were in good agreement with the certified values. The developed method has been applied to the determination of trace elements in environmental water samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

The extraction of Am(III) and Eu(III) using a γ-pre-irradiated N,N′-dimethyl-N,N′-dibutyltetradecyl malonamide (DMDBTDMA) modified with N,N′-dihexyloctanamide (DHOA) in n-dodecane (NDD) at 4.5M HNO3 has been studied as a function of the absorbed dose up to 2×106 Gray. The distribution ratios of Am(III) and Eu(III) were almost constant until a dose of 1×105 Gray and then they decreased gradually up to a dose of 2×106 Gray. The decrease of the distribution ratios of Am(III) and Eu(III) are due to the decreasing concentration of the DMDBTDMA by a γ-pre-irradiation and these results were supported by a determination of the DMDBTDMA concentration with a gas chromatography method. The distribution ratios of Am(III), Eu(III), Ce, Nd and Y with γ-pre-irradiated (DMDBTDMA-DHOA)/NDD have also been studied as a function of the nitric acid concentration and the extraction temperature.  相似文献

Trivalent lanthanide complexes of the type K[ML 2] whereM=La(III), Pr(III), Nd(III), Sm(III), Eu(III), Gd(III) and Dy(III) and H2 L=N-isonicotinamidosalicyladimine, have been prepared and characterised. The nephelauxetic ratio (β), covalency (δ) and bonding parameter (b 2) of K[NdL 2] have been calculated. Infrared spectral studies reveal that N-isonicotinamidosalicylaldimine acts as a dibasic tridentate ligand. A coordination number six has been proposed for the lanthanide metal ions.  相似文献

The dependence of the distribution coefficients on the hydrogen ion concentration and HDEHP concentration in the process of extraction from lactic acid solutions in the presence of DTPA and without it has been investigated. It has been shown that when the lactate ion concentration is higher than 0.01M, Cm is extracted predominantly as the first lactate complex. The presence of DTPA does not change the extraction mechanism. Similarity of the observed regularities for trivalent actinides and lanthanides is confirmed by the extraction of Bk(III), Ce(III), and Eu(III). It is suggested that the nature of carbonic acid used in TALSPEAK-process greatly influences the efficiency of group separation of TPE and lanthanides. It is supported by some experimental data. The extraction and stability constants of the first lactate complex (Cm Lact2+) have been found to be: Ke=2, β 1 0 = 7,7 · 103. In the practical lactic acid concentration range (1 M) the unextractable complex, Cm Lact3, is also formed in the aqueous phase. The stability constant of this complex has been found to be β 3 0 = 1.2 · 107.  相似文献

A selective, simple and fast dispersive micro solid phase extraction method using magnetic graphene oxide (GO) as an efficient sorbent has been developed for the extraction, separation and speciation analysis of chromium ions. The method is based on different adsorption behaviour of Cr(VI) and Cr(III) species onto magnetic GO in aqueous solutions which allowed the selective separation and extraction of Cr(VI) in the pH range of 2.0–3.0. The retained Cr(VI) ions by the sorbent were eluted using 0.5 mL of 0.5 mol L?1 nitric acid solution in methanol and determined by ?ame atomic absorption spectrometry. Total chromium content was determined after the oxidation of Cr(III) to Cr(VI) by potassium permanganate. All effective parameters on the performance of the extraction process were thoroughly investigated and optimised. Under the optimised conditions, the method exhibited a linear dynamic range of 0.5–50.0 µg L?1 with a detection limit of 0.1 µg L?1 and pre-concentration factor of 200. The relative standard deviations of 3.8% and 4.6% (n = 8) were obtained at 25.0 µg L?1 level of Cr(VI) for intra- and inter-day analysis, respectively. The method was successfully applied to the speciation and determination of Cr(VI) and Cr(III) in environmental water samples.  相似文献

A series of lanthanide(III) pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate complexes [Ln(Pyrrol-Dtc)3(Phen)] {Pyrrol-Dtc = pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate; Phen = 1,10-phenanthroline; Ln = La(III), Ce(III), Pr(III), Nd(III), Sm(III), Gd(III), Tb(III), Dy(III), Er(III)} have been synthesized and structurally characterized. The molecular structures of [La(Pyrrol-Dtc)3(Phen)], [Pr(Pyrrol-Dtc)3(Phen)], [Sm(Pyrrol-Dtc)3(Phen)], and [Dy(Pyrrol-Dtc)3(Phen)] have been confirmed using single crystal XRD studies. The results reveal that in these complexes, the central Ln(III) ion is coordinated to three Pyrrol-Dtc and one Phen and possesses a distorted dodecahedron geometry. Catalytic activity of these complexes in trimethylsilylcyanation reaction has been studied.  相似文献

A method is presented for the simultaneous determination of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) in yeast using species-specific double-spike isotope dilution (SSDSID) with anion-exchange liquid chromatography (LC) separation and sector field inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometric (SF-ICP-MS) detection. Total Cr is quantitated using ID SF-ICP-MS. Samples were digested on a hot plate at 95±2 °C for 6 h in an alkaline solution of 0.5 M NaOH and 0.28 M Na2CO3 for the determination of Cr(III) and Cr(VI), whereas microwave-assisted decomposition with HNO3 and H2O2 was used for the determination of total Cr. Concentrations of 2,014±16, 1,952±103 and 76±48 mg kg−1 (one standard deviation, n=4, 3, 3), respectively were obtained for total Cr, Cr(III) and Cr(VI) in the yeast sample. Significant oxidation of Cr(III) to Cr(VI) (24.2±7.6% Cr(III) oxidized, n=3) and reduction of Cr(VI) to Cr(III) (37.6±6.5% Cr(VI) reduced, n=3 ) occurred during alkaline extraction and subsequent chromatographic separation at pH 7. Despite this significant bidirectional redox transformation, quantitative recoveries for both Cr(III) and Cr(VI) were achieved using the SSDSID method. In addition, mass balance between total Cr and the sum of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) concentrations was achieved. Method detection limits of 0.3, 2 and 30 mg kg−1 were obtained for total Cr, Cr(VI) and Cr(III), respectively, based on a 0.2-g sub-sample.  相似文献

Summary The optimum conditions for the antimony(V) extraction in strong hydrochloride acid medium as a ternary ion-associated complex with triphenyltetrazolium chloride have been investigated. The extraction constant has been determined with dichlorethene and chloroform (11) (K ex =3.06×104). A working procedure for the determination of antimony has been developed. Interferences are only caused by iron(III), gold(III), thallium(III) and gallium. The application of the method is demonstrated by the analysis of metallic lead, which has also been carried out with two other methods (AAS and spectrophotometry with crystal violet). The new method is superior in reliability and accuracy. The relative standard deviation of the mean is ± 7.4%.

Coriolus versicolor, a wood fungus, was immobilised on Amberlite XAD-4 and used as solid-phase biosorbent for preconcentrations of rare earth elements. La(III), Th(IV), U(IV) and Ce(III) were subjected to solid-phase extraction procedure. We observed that La(III) was selectively preconcentrated, while other ions remained in solution at pH 6.0. 5.0 mL of 1.0 mol L?1 HCl was used to elaute La(III) from column. 250 mg of C. versicolor loaded on 1000 mg of XAD-4 was optimised as solid-phase matrix. Concentrations of ions in solutions were determined by inductively coupled plasma– optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). The calibration plot after preconcentration was linear in the range from 1.0 to 50.0 ng mL?1 for La(III). Limit of detection was found as 0.27 ng mL?1 for La(III) by SPE method. Relative standard deviation was found lower than 6.7% for 1.0 ng mL?1 of La(III) solution (n = 10). The sensitivity of ICP-OES was improved by a factor of 46.8. The applicability of the method was validated through the analysis of certified reference samples of tea (NCS ZC-73014) and spinach (NCS ZC-73013).  相似文献

Abstract

A β-diketonate mononuclear dysprosium compound, [Dy(TFNB)3(bpy)] (1) (TFNB = 4,4,4-trifluoro-1-(2-naphthyl)-1,3-butanedione, bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine), has been prepared and structurally and magnetically characterized. X-ray crystallographic analysis reveals that 1 contains two crystallographically equivalent Dy(III) ions of which the eight-coordinate geometries uniformly behave as distorted square antiprismatic configurations (D4d). Magnetic investigations demonstrate that 1 displays dual relaxation processes of SMMs behavior with the effective barrier (ΔE/kB) of 23.44 K under 1200 Oe DC field, corresponding to the coexistence of two metal centers in the structure of the compound. The comparative studies of some Dy(III)-based SIMs with TFNB ligand have been conducted as well. Ab initio studies demonstrate that the Kramers doublet ground state is predominantly axial with the gz tensors of two Dy(III) fragments matching the Ising-limit factor (20) anticipated for the pure MJ = ±15/2 state.  相似文献

The solvent extraction of vanadium by a chloroform solution of α-benzoin oxime was investigated. The most favorable condition for the extraction has been found in the pH rang of 1.8 to 3.0 in sulfate or chloride buffer solutions, but with better extraction efficiency when sulfate was used. A solution of 2×10?2 M α-benzoin oxime in chloroform was used, and 1×10?4 to 2×10?2 M vanadium(V) was extracted favorably in about 89% yield by a single extraction, and in about 97% yield by a double extraction. The effects of shaking time, concentration of α-benzoin oxime, and diverse ions have also been investigated. Vanadium(V) can be readily extracted without interference in the presence of copper(II), aluminum(III), iron(III), silver(I), zirconium(IV), and chromium(III).  相似文献

The complexes of rare earth elements with 2,3-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid of the formula: Ln2(C12H6O4)3·nH2O, where Ln = La(III)-Lu(III) and Y(III); n = 3 for La(III), Ce(III); n = 6 for Pr(III)-Yb(III) and Y(III) and n = 5 for Lu(III) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, thermal analysis (TG, DTG, DTA and TG-FTIR) and X-ray analysis. They are sparingly soluble in water and stable at room temperature. During heating in air atmosphere, they lose all water molecules in several steps, generally in two or three steps, except for the La(III) and Ce(III) complexes which lose all water molecules in one step. The anhydrous compounds are stable up to about 773 K and then decompose to corresponding oxides. The thermal decomposition is connected with the release of water molecules (443 K), carbon dioxide (713 K) and hydrocarbons.  相似文献

Abstract

We aim to study magnetic and thermal behaviors of some melamine cored macromolecular Schiff base complexes. In this context, tripodal ligands were synthesized by reacting melamine with 4-carboxybenzaldehyde or 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde. Then, 16 new trinuclear Fe(III), Cr(III), Mn(III), and Al(III) complexes were synthesized by reacting the ligands [tris-(4-carboxybenzimino)-1,3,5-triazine) or tris-(4-hydroxybenzimino)-1,3,5-triazine)] with pentadentate Schiff bases N,N′-bis(1-hydroxy-2-benzyliden)-1,7-diamino-4-azaheptane or N,N′-bis(salicylidene)pyridine-2,6-diamine. Later, ligands and complexes were characterized by means of elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy, 1H NMR, liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry, thermal analyses, and magnetic susceptibility measurements. Finally, metal ratios of the prepared complexes were determined by using atomic adsorption spectrometry. The complexes were also characterized as distorted octahedral high-spin d 3 (S = 3 × 1/2) Cr(III), high-spin d 5 (S = 5 × 1/2) Fe(III), low-spin d 4 (S = 2 × 1/2) Mn(III), and diamagnetic Al(III) bridged by ?OH group of COO? or OH group of phenol.  相似文献

The protonation of lactate has been studied in a variety of electrolyte solutions using microcalorimetry to reveal a distinct medium influence imposed on the thermochemistry of the equilibrium. The thermochemistry of lactate protonation, when studied directly in 1.0 mol⋅L−1 sodium lactate, agreed well with the studies performed in trifluoromethanesulfonate (triflate). This thermodynamic agreement suggests that the physical chemistry of lactate in the solutions applicable to the TALSPEAK process—a solvent extraction method for separating trivalent actinides from trivalent lanthanides within the scope of used nuclear fuel processing efforts—may be simulated in triflate solutions. Potentiometry, spectrophotometry and microcalorimetry have been subsequently used to study the thermodynamic features of neodymium and americium complexation by lactate using triflate as a strong background electrolyte. Three successive mononuclear lactate complexes were identified for Nd(III) and Am(III). The stability constants for neodymium, β 101=2.60±0.01, β 102=4.66±0.02 and β 103=5.6±0.1, and for americium, β 101=2.60±0.06, β 102=4.7±0.1 and β 103=6.2±0.2, were found to closely agree with the thermodynamic studies reported in sodium perchlorate solutions. Consequently, the thermodynamic medium effect, imposed on the TALSPEAK-related solution equilibria by the presence of strong background electrolytes such as NaClO4 and NaNO3, does not significantly impact the speciation in solution.  相似文献

The complexes of heavy lanthanides and yttrium with 2,3-dimethoxybenzoic acid of the formula: Ln(C9h9O4)3·nH2O, where Ln=Tb(III), Dy(III), Ho(III), Er(III), Tm(III), Yb(III), Lu(III), Y(III), and n=2 for Tb(III), Dy(III), Ho(III), Y(III), n=1 for Er(III), Tm(III), n=0 for Yb(III) and Lu(III) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, ir spectroscopy, thermogravimetric studies and x-ray diffraction measurements. The complexes have colours typical for Lnł3+ ions (Tb(III), Dy(III), Tm(III), Yb(III), Lu(III), Y(III) - white; Ho(III) - cream and Er(III) - salmon). the carboxylate groups in these complexes are a symmetrical, bidentate, chelating ligand or tridentate chelating-bridging. they are isostructural crystalline compounds characterized by low symmetry. On heating in air to 1273 k the 2,3-dimethoxybenzoates of heavy lanthanides and yttrium decompose in various ways. The complexes of Tb(III), Dy(III), Ho(III), Er(III), Tm(III) and Y(III) at first dehydrate to form anhydrous salts which next are decomposed to the oxides of the respective metals. 2,3-dimethoxybenzoates of Yb(III) and Lu(III) are directly decomposed to oxides. When heated in nitrogen the hydrates also dehydrate in one step to form the anhydrous complexes that next form the mixture of carbon and oxides of respective metals or their carbonates. The solubility of the yttrium and heavy lanthanide 2,3-dimethoxybenzoates in water at 293 k is of the order of 10-2 mol dm-3.
