An organic nonlinear optical material, 4-chloro-4′dimethylamino-benzylidene aniline (CDMABA), was synthesized by the condensation of the p-chloroaniline and p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde. Solubility of CDMABA was determined in acetone at different temperatures. Single crystals were grown by the solvent evaporation method from acetone solution at room temperature. Grown crystal was subjected to FTIR, FT-Raman and 1H NMR spectral analyses to confirm the synthesized compound. The range and percentage of optical transmission was ascertained by recording UV–vis–NIR spectrum. Thermal properties were investigated by Thermo Gravimetric, Differential Thermal and Differential Scanning Calorimetric analyses. High Resolution X-ray Diffractometry (HRXRD) was employed to evaluate the perfection of the grown crystal. The third order nonlinear optical parameters (nonlinear refractive index and nonlinear absorption coefficient) were derived by the Z-scan technique.  相似文献

Thiosemicarbazide hydrochloride (TSCHCL) was synthesized by mixing thiosemicarbazide and hydrochloride in 1:1 molar ratio in double distilled water. Single crystals of TSCHCL were grown by slow evaporation at room temperature and were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction study to determine the molecular structure and by FT-IR, 1H and 13C NMR spectral analyses to confirm the synthesized compound. Thermogravimetric and differential thermal analyses reveal the thermal stability of the crystal. The transmission spectrum of TSCHCL showed that the crystal is transparent in the wavelength range 380–1100 nm. High resolution X-ray diffractometry (HRXRD) was employed to evaluate the perfection of the grown crystal. Mechanical properties of the grown crystal were studied using Vickers microhardness test. Second harmonic generation efficiency of the powdered TSCHCL was tested using Nd:YAG laser and is ∼1.5 times that of potassium dihydrogen orthophosphate.  相似文献

Transparent single crystals of diglycine cadmium chloride were grown by slow evaporation solution technique. To confirm the crystal structure, the grown crystals were subjected to single crystal as well as powder X-ray diffraction measurements and the structure was found to be monoclinic. The elemental analysis was carried out by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The crystalline perfection of the grown crystal was assessed by high-resolution X-ray diffractometry and found that the crystal quality is fairly good. The optical study reveals that the grown crystal is highly transparent in the region 250?C900?nm. Thermal studies reveal that the grown crystal is stable up to 245?°C. The michrohardness analysis revealed that the grown crystal belongs to soft material category. The high dielectric constant (>30) and low loss (<0.01) value also confirms that the grown crystal is a good candidate for device fabrications.  相似文献

CCBA crystal was grown from chloroform by slow evaporation at room temperature and the single crystal cell parameters were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction method. The perfection of the grown crystal was analyzed by high resolution X-ray diffraction rocking curve analysis. Fluorescence spectrum indicated violet emission at 428 nm. The range of optical absorbance was ascertained by recording UV–vis–NIR spectrum. Load dependant microhardness measurements on this crystal revealed the mechanical behavior of the material. Stiffness constant, Meyer index and yield strength of CCBA crystal were calculated. Dielectric studies were carried out to estimate the dielectric parameters of the grown crystal in the frequency range from 100 Hz to 100 kHz. The thermal behavior of CCBA was investigated using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and no phase transition was identified in the temperature region 30–100 °C. Further, the CCBA crystal was subjected to open aperture Z-scan studies in order to investigate the third order nonlinear optical (NLO) properties of CCBA crystal.  相似文献

The influence of doping the transition metal Zn(II) on the growth, spectral, optical, and thermal properties of l-histidine hydrochloride monohydrate (LHHC) crystals grown by slow solvent evaporation method has been investigated. Structural characterizations of the grown crystals were carried out by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis and it shows slight structural changes as a result of doping. The FT-IR spectral study reveals the presence of various functional groups and confirms the slight distortion of the structure of the crystals due to doping. The energy dispersive X-ray analysis reveals the incorporation of Zn(II) in the crystalline matrix of LHHC crystal. The UV?CVis spectral study was carried out to analyze the optical transmittance of the grown crystals and found that the transmittance is very high in the visible and UV regions for both pure and doped crystals. The second harmonic generation (SHG) for the grown crystals was confirmed by Nd:YAG laser. The scanning electron microscopy reveals the presence of defect centers and crystal voids. The thermal stability and purity of the grown crystals were analyzed by thermogravimetry, differential thermal analysis, and differential scanning calorimetry techniques.  相似文献

Potassium tantalate niobate (KTa1-xNbxO3, KTN) crystals with different dimensions and quality situations were grown by Czochralski method. Crystal growth process and morphology properties of KTN are presented in this paper. It was found that some defects, such as bubble, inclusion, crack, dislocation etc., can all appear if the crystal is grown in an improper condition. The character and formation mechanism of such defects in macro growth are discussed. We consider that the CO2, which was not released absolutely during the sintering process and dissolved in the melt, led to bubbles. The composition of the inclusion caused by high pulling and rotation rates is KTN polycrystalline. The crack and dislocation in KTN crystal mainly come from improper temperature field. Etching and high-resolution X-ray diffraction (HRXRD) experiment results indicate that the central area is the defects concentrated.  相似文献

Single crystals of K2[Co(1−x)Nix(H2O)6] (C8H5O4)4·4H2O (x = 0.25) (PCNHP), a semiorganic black colored transparent crystal of size ∼20 × 13 × 4 mm3, are grown from an aqueous solution of potassium hydrogen phthalate enriched with cobalt chloride and nickel chloride by slow evaporation solution growth technique at room temperature. Structural analysis by single crystal X-ray diffraction reveals that the crystal belongs to monoclinic system with space group P21/c and the cell parameters are a = 10.41(3) Å, b = 6.84(2) Å, c = 29.46(9) Å, Z = 4. Incorporation of both Co(II) and Ni(II) into the potassium hydrogen phthalate (KHP) crystal lattice is well confirmed by EDS and chemical tests. Powder XRD profiles indicate the crystallinity and FT-IR studies reveal the vibrational patterns. The UV–vis optical absorption spectrum of PCNHP shows the lower optical cut-off at ∼300 nm and the crystal was transparent in the entire visible region. The crystalline perfection of the grown crystal analysed by high-resolution X-ray diffraction (HRXRD) analysis reveals that the diffraction curve (DC) contains multi-peaks with low angular spread indicating the possibility of low angle structural grain boundaries. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) studies indicate the structure defect centers. The dielectric, thermal and mechanical behaviors of the specimen were also investigated.  相似文献
